The hotel is independently owned and family run. We take great pride in serving our delicious food and giving our guests a warm welcome.We make all the dishes, cakes and sweets ourselves, none of the ready meals here. Our portions are large and very satisfying especially after a day on the fells. We offer modern newly furnished rooms with thick chunky towels and locally made toiletries, ensuite bathrooms - sparkling, pristine and up to the minute - luxurious supercomfy beds, You will get all sorts of little extras: conversation, stunning views, peace, breakfasts to remember, advice and help when needed, all this from delightful human beings rather than corporate functionaries. Free wireless internet, sometimes an honesty bar, cappacinos and delicous homemade scones and cakes. Ideal for a short break situated in the centre of Alston with all its amenities a stones throw away. You can have a lovely meal, bottle of good wine or a real ale and not have to move from the building( shoes are not compulsory)
