Website
Los Cabos Airport sits just north of of San Jose del Cabo. Los Cabos Airport is at the bottom of the Baja peninsula beneath California, eight miles from downtown and about thirty-five minutes from Cabo San Lucas. The destination is popular with many due to the combination of sun and sand. Sports fishing, scuba, and beach fun are main draws to this Mexican location.
Currently, the airport serves around two million passengers. The airport is the fifth busiest in Mexico and serves both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Some passengers find the terminal set-up to be rather confusing because there are three terminals that are a distance from each other and require airport shuttles to reach. Each terminal has its own parking lot directly in front of the terminal making it easy for passengers to park their car and then access their terminal.
Directions To Los Cabos Airport
Los Cabos Airport is located not too far from Highway 1. Highway 1 is the road system that travels the Baja peninsula from north to south. For those coming from areas south of the airport (San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas), take Highway 1 North (it is a toll highway) through San Jose Viejo and follow airport signs. For those coming from the north, take Highway 1 South (again a toll road) got through Santa Anita and then without a few miles the airport exit will appear on the left. Watch for signs. The airport access road is connected to Highway 1, so travel shouldn't be too difficult.
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 is the first terminal reached on the terminal access road. Terminal 1 is divided into two concourses. Concourse A handles flights for Aeromexico (Mexico City), Interjet (Toluca), Mexicana (Guadalajara, Mazatlan, and Mexico City), and Magnicharters (Mexico City and Monterrey). Concourse B handles Aerocalifornia flights to and from Guadalajara and Monterrey.
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 serves charter, cargo and international flights. Those using flights from charter tour companies or traveling to the United States or Canada will need to proceed down the road to the Terminal 2 parking lot. Terminal 2 contains two concourses, C and D. Concourse C handles flights for Aerocalifornia (Los Angeles), Aeromexico (Ontario and San Diego), and Mexicana (Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Sacramento. Concourse D serves America West (Oakland and Phoenix), American Airlines (Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York/JFK), Continental Airlines (Houston and Newark), Frontier (Denver and Kansas City), Mesa Airlines (Las Vegas and Phoenix), Northwest Airlines (Minneapolis), Sun Country (Minneapolis), United (Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco), and US Airways (flights are handled by America West and Mesa Airlines).
Terminal 3
Terminal 3 is the last terminal on the main access road to the terminals. Alaska Airlines (Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle), Atlanta Southeast Airlines (Salt Lake City), and Delta (Atlanta, Cincinnati, New York/JFK, and Salt Lake City) all use Terminal 3 for their flights.
