Surrounded by protective mountains- the water of Lake Annecy is reputed to be one of the purest in the world- inspiring Paul Cezanness splendid painting of the same name. The Auberge du Pere Bise restaurant is beautifully located- with its lights that twinkle reflectively at it from the surface of the lake. Impossible to be better placed. The chef Sophie Bise handles her products with a sculptors touch to create dishes that are as lovely to look at as they are to taste. She too is pure talent.
