West Jordan is one of the fastest growing cities in the Salt Lake metropolitan area, and has been a center of industry and progression since the early Mormon pioneers settled there in the late 1840s. Taking its name from the Jordan River that runs through the Salt Lake Valley, this settlement west of the river has emerged from dwelling in Salt Lake City's shadow and becoming a fully independent entity, complete with shopping, dining and entertainment options that are completely unique to West Jordan.
