Hotel Ercilla

Beautifully appointed hotel. The lobby staff and gentleman in charge of the luggage were excellent.

The room. Even though I made this booking early in the year we were given room 1109 on the 11th floor. This room is right beside the lifts. The air conditioning didn’t work and we couldn’t open the window as there is a great big (air conditioning?) pipe that is noisy beside the window. The room was small, no problem with that, very clean and had some nice touches but the constant clatter of the lifts was uncomfortable. This did stop late at night but started again early. This clatter is joined by that from floor 12 at 9am (I am assuming by renovations.). No warning was given of this. We rang down to reception when the air conditioning wasn’t working and the receptionist didn’t believe there was anything wrong with it. He hung up before I could explain further. The fan wasn’t working. As we were ready to go to sleep it was too late to get changed, go down 11 floors and try to explain in person. Granted my Spanish is limited.
