The place is HUGE and the staff are amazing! There was a SPECTACULAR view of Edinburgh Castle as the hostel is, quite literally, at the base of Edinburgh Castle Rock!
However, there is no lift so you have to lug everything out or down the stairs. Uber will not pickup on that street, though. You’d have to walk 2 blocks in either direction for a pickup.

The staff was incredible. I had two pillows and my mattress was comfortable. I loved that I could leave my luggage there until 9:00 pm AFTER I checked out and could use the facilities. I LOVED all of the lounges, the cinema, the kitchen, the music room, it was a little paradise. Who can say that about a hostel? I can. I chose Castle Rock. The dancing on Wednesday made the trip and the bar crawl was unforgettable. The hostel was also SO clean. Thank you to everyone at the hostel who made this trip so amazing.
