the vuew from the balcony riom was beautiful. We were there out of season, but the pools looked very inviting. We did not want to drive into Acireale, so the walk into town was a bit nerve racking.
Signage along the roads directing us to the hotel was very helpful. The staff at breakfast were very helpful, and the person on reception was helpful. It was a bit dated.
architecture is nice ,situation in orange plantage , landscape beach is relatevly far to go
The structure is really nice The rooms would require a refresh
Good location quiet peacful, nice swimming pool and lovely surroundings None
The pool area Unfriendly staff. Building weird like something out of a horror movie
Good standard. Restaurant good quality. Excellent base for Etna
It was beautiful...friendly service. Looked like a rennovated castle.
Room was a nice size and it was clean. Steph was unfriendly and unhelpful. Also, shuttle bus was full when we needed it. We needed to get to the airport at 5 o'clock in the morning. That's why we stayed at the hotel! Had to take a taxi for $20 instead.
Good location. Generally pleasant and helpful staff. quick response from room service. Excellent potato and mushroom soup in the restaurant!!. Except for the bathroom safety issue, the room was good and when no opener was available for the minibar, one was quickly supplied along with the room service. We had a great view of Etna from our room that afternoon--an unexpected plus after spending ten days in other parts of Sicily. Downgraded you on "facilities" primarily on the safety issue. Like all European hotels, no one seems to make it easy for older people to get in and out of the shower/tub safely. Besides the wall bar, there are hold bars that fasten to the edge of a tub which are helpful in getting out. I have seen some here in the US, don't think I saw any in European hotels. Also square toilet seat was a surprise--we even took a photo because we had never seen such before--but I don't find that it is very comfortable to sit on!
Room was large and clean but next to some staff room at the very end of the hall downstairs so could hear loud talking. The location is good for travelers having to fly in and out of Catania airport. The hotel has a shuttle for 5 Euros. At a minimum coffee or tea should be provided for guests no matter even if they paid less than another guest. The hotel is not near restaurants and cafes so you would have to leave the hotel to go to a cafe.
Room spacious and clean. Close to airport. Shuttle pickup slow. Seem to run the shuttle hourly. So close to the airport it could be as needed or, at least, twice per hour.
Location to rail station, price, internet In a very hard to find location, not suitable for women (safety) Aircon did not work during stay, room safe did not work, no breakfast staff to assist.
I love this hotel: my room was very large and comfortable, the hotel is positioned very close the city center and all the staff was kind and competent. nothing, all was excellent
Very attractive, comfortable room; friendly staff; The neighborhood around the hotel was kind of slummy; we never found "the sunny, yellow piazza" that was mentioned on the website. The hotel had obviously been remodeled, but the location is less than desirable.
Other than near Station, not a particularily good location. But very reasonably priced for area, and very good rooms.
It is close to shopping area. 1- location . 2- no facilities
staff was knowledgable and friendly
Location is close to train station and city centre Location is terrible at night although convenient by day.
If one is travelling by car I can be safeloy parked in their garage The way the television was fixed. When lying on the bed to watch the tv I had to look sideways as it was fixed by the side instead infront.
Nice hotel for first timers who want to be pretty much within walking distance of a lot of attractions. We always were greeted with a smile both coming and going. It was our anniversary and they offered us a bottle of champagne. The rooms were lovely, very comfortable and clean. We had breakfast with an instant omelette, although the breakfast was only continental style with a good assortment; fresh fruit, yogurts, good bread. Would definitely stay there again.
Comfortable bed and good atmosphere I would have liked more choice for breakfast.
The staff were extreamly polite and helpful. They showed us every place on map that we wanted to visit. The breakfast was very good too.
The staff... air conditioning did not work!
Very clean comfortable hotel in city centre with friendly, helpful staff. Parking at hotel was free, but the ramp to parking was very steep. Could be difficult for someone not used to driving standard transmission cars.
The staff was very helpfull and kind It was modern and confortable, but quite simple
Well, i found that the people were very helpfull. The room was extremely clean and the breakfast very very very good!I wouldstrongly recommend it. Check your elevators!
very nice people , very friendli and very clean ,
Spacey rooms with large balconies overlooking the sea, large and nice bathroom with a whirlpool bath, etc. Safe and comfortable parking. Nice and helpful stuff. Breakfasts were very basic, italian style only on day 3 & 4 we got some cheese and ham. Very weak Wi-Fi signal - not able to use it in the rooms.
we understood that it had a pool .we were very dissiapointed when it was accross the road and we had to pay a fee each day to use it
We had a clean, nicely furnished, spacey room with two large balconies overlooking the sea, large and lovely bathroom with a whirlpool bath, etc. Breakfast was good. Safe and comfortable parking. Nice and helpful stuff. Good (if not the best!) value for the money in Aci Trezza which itself seemed rather dirty city set in charming and unique Riviera dei Cyclopi surroundings. The only thing we missed was a private hotel beach, but we found a beach club nearby for 15 € a day (2 sunbeds, 1 umbrella and steps for safe (!) swimming).
The staff was patient and helpful as we tried to figure out how to park and also how to check out early. Even though this hotel supposedly has a 4-star classification it is at best a 2-star. I suspect it was classified when it was new 25 years ago, but it has degenerated and not been reclassified. The exterior facade has eroded and crumbled, giving a very bad appearance. The room was heavily perfumed with cleaning agents. The surrounding area was run-down and scary. We were booked for two nights but left after one night.
The pool was in excellent settings and very ease to enter if one is elderly. The food and service also excellent when we dined in the evening and the atmosphere was lovely. The hotel itself is a little shabby and too drab for a mediterranean seaside resort, it could do with a nice light uplift. Apart from that we enjoyed our two day stay. A little more care on the cleanliness in general
Near to the airport, nice green garden oasis in the town. This hotel is too far from 5 stars.
cleanliness and the pool
The location close to the airport and the nice room
Rooms were very clean and good size Lower your food and beverage prices. We stayed at this hotel due to the location of the closeness to the airport. Also taxi that was hired from your hotel was an outrageous price for a five minute drive to the airport. Hotel should provide a shuttle to the airport as it is so close.
Double room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety including hot food and fresh fruit. The hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel has a superb swimming pool and offers access passes to the adjoining beach. It also operates a complimentary airport and city centre shuttle. Free WIFI is available in all the rooms. The hotel restaurant meals were excellent and reasonably priced. Parking provided on the site. Have no complaints about this hotel.
Spacious room, clean and nice bathroom. Nice staff (Alfredo) ! Modern and nice pool, great breakfast, lots of choice. The hotel is about 5 min. from the city centre. There is a hotel shuttle, but the shuttle doesn't drive frequently. Drinks and food are pretty expensive in the hotel, glas of soda eur 4,-.
* REstruant made some good food (pasta at least). * Close to airport if yo on you way home (But is is not reaally possible to work to airport even it is only 2 km away). * Rooms to small! * Resturant service limited (only from 20 o clock in the evning, hence ,ot good for famillies with small childeren). Limited selection for room service! PRICY prices!
Pool. Still no fitness center. I stayed for a week and breakfast was the same every morning. Overpriced menu.
The hotel is in general nice, namely the garden and the swiming pool. It's located near the beach, although it's on the other side of the road (no direct connection); The hotel is in front of a noisy road; the employees are nice in general but need a little bit more of organisation; we found the bedroom small for one couple and one child
Clean and elegant hotel right on Via Etnea.
It is very centrally located
nice room ,very clean with a good view there was aproblem with the aircondition and TV but help came quick
in the middle of the city - on the shopping street and close by the nicest buildings, squares - view on Etna AND Dom
Staff were very friendly and the food was very good
The breakfast and the dining area were lovely and the staff excellent. We are very comfortable in recommending it to others
Free internet in the room and free drinks in frig, very nice deco overall.
1) the central placement of the hotel 2) in low season they can park your car themselves in the garage 1) the city itself is awful: very dirty, all walls and historic buildings are in graffity even fountain and main street, a lot of poor and dirty people on streets outside the 1 main walking road (so in the evening it's scary to walk). We ran away from this city on 3d day, although planed to stay for 5. The main reason to come here is Etna - that is fantastic. 2) the hotel itself is business-style one with old furniture with respective "old smell" in rooms. Think that it should be cheaper
Food in the restaurant was very good. Staff very helpful, courteous and friendly Our meal on thursday 21st was exactly the same as that on the wednesday although very good 20th. Howevber a word with reception ensured we had different menu friday and saturday which were bo9th excellent. some thought need sto be put into serviuce for guest who stay more than 1 night
Well appointed and tastefully furnished. Friendly staff on the whole. Excellent food and breakfast - beware of the gourmet dinner, it has 8 courses! Not a great location, being tucked away in side streets a fair walk from the city centre. Driving is impossible - allow 1 hour to get to the airport at busy times.
Friendly staff (although the barman was sometimes difficult to find) Some loud, brash Americans who were obviously on their tour of Europe, and thought they owned it.
Good quality, clean and friendly staff. A bit pricy. Location not great (Catania is not great as well) but close to the center.
position for exploring
Location is excellent - Staff very cordial and efficient - Comfort rooms - very good breakfast NA
I liked the helpful friendly host ad the spacious, clean bedroom and bathroom. There was free wifi connection if you have your own computer and cheap rates for the use of the hotel computer.
The management were very friendly and helpful; available to provide information on transport, trips etc. Do take up the offer of using the roof terrace as it is a great little suntrap and has some fantastic views. (Terrace itself is a basic area on the roof). Location is excellent. The style of the b&b is unusual and felt like a bizarre hostel. Rooms are functional. If you are seeking a more traditional b&/b or hotel style environment - this would not be the place for you. The building was originally once very ornate and decadent; now it is a bit shabby. I travelled alone and the timed light system was scary the first night as it doesn't give you enough time to get from one part of the hall to the next. That was frustrating. a couple of nights was ok. More than that (especially if you use Catania as a base for your travels around Sicily) and you might want to upgrade or skip to Taormina where there is a wider range of accommodation (albeit more costly) but it is still as easy to travel aroud from the same base.
The room and the building were very authentical, like typical Italian. The room and bathroom are big, clean and pretty. The staff is very helpfull. The location is the best. In the center and quite.
Staff spoke excellent English, recommended great places to visit and eat and made us feel very welcome. Good central location.
the rooms are big and comfertable. beutifull dezigen. the hospetality of Jan Lica- great! no
location and character of rooms
The staff was very helpful and our room was very nice I was disappointed that there was no jacuzzi in the suite as promised. That was the only reason we paid extra and there is not one. But overall the staff and the room were very nice.
Great accomodation, centrally located with a great breakfast. The staff were lovely and very very helpful always. Would recommend and will stay again.
Very helpful staff available 24 hours. Very quiet given position of our room overlooking a main road. Very safe and secure. Many hotels in same price bracket probably wouldn't compete. Controlling the air conditioning overnight
Small hotel with very nice atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully decorated especially the sealings which are hand painted. Friendly staff. Difficult to find parking space
Staff very helpful and friendly. Quite central. They should try to increase in parking facility. If you don't have where to park, then it is impossible to find a parking space in the streets. For a Hotel, with very few parking spaces, located on the 2nd Floor, a small lift, the Hotel is rather expensive. Prices are like a 4 star Hotel in other Italian Cities.
Parking within hotel grounds, friendly staff The area of Catania - I would not return to Catania
Welcoming delightful staff and wonderful painted ceilings Cracked mirror in bedroom
I appreciated a lot the beautifull room: large, with fine fornitures and, overall, a ceiling with original decoration. The staff (Simona and her collegues) was very efficient and polite. If I'll come back to Catania I'll choose Manganelli Palace again
We really liked Manganelli Palace. The central location was perfect to walk around Catania and to take the bus to Aci Castello. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was big with a decoratively painted ceiling. The bathroom was modern and very clean. But what it really made this place outstanding was the staff: Simona, Dario and Danilo. Kind and extremely pleasant, they helped us fully with our travel nightmares (BA and Alitalia), thank you all! We highly recommend this hotel to everyone in search of affordable luxury and individual courtesy.
Room was rather small considering that it was a deluxe double room and the rating as a five star hotel. The request for a non smoker room was not granted andt the room we got smelled bad. When we had problems the staff was helpful and effiecent in solving them. The view from the hotel with Etna "right in front" of teh hotel is special. Provide (more) non smooking rooms, informations for tourist like weather forecast, sights. Choice of product in bathroom is very limited, provide better range like a 5 star hotel usually does. Hotels own restaurant could be better advertised. parking spaces/service is missing.
All-round professionelt og udmærket; uden at være helt fantastisk godt Nej, det er jeg ikke professionel nok til
God service med transport frem og tilbage fra byen. De ville være dejligt med en senere hjemtransport fra Catania, 19.45 er for tidligt. Flere forskellige valgmuligheder i Restaurenten
