Everything Not enough to do at night
Beautiful property. Wonderful place to celebrate 20 anniversary. The South End was rather sleepy this time of year. I would stay on the North End next time.
Worn-out rooms, dirty carpets and mirrors, totally overpriced and overrated
The room was big and a nice view. I didn't like any of the restaurants, way overpriced for IHOP quality food. The restaurants were dirty.
Hotel right next to the coast. Rooms with see view. Many facilities, like a nice swimmingpool and hot tub. They where busy with a renovation. Gives a lot of noise.
All staff, friendly and helpful. On the premises it was only 1 or 2 minute walk to get to the pool or the spa, rest. , dock, beach. Restrooms on property all over so u don't have to go back to your room to use. Peaceful place, wonderful stay.
We loved our room and being able to look right out to the Gulf of Mexico! Getting to the beach was so easy because it was right there! The staff was very helpful, and friendly! The complementary breakfast each morning was a great way to start the day. We will definitely be returning to the Tween Waters! We didn't like leaving to go home!
The sunsets are beautiful. The staff are very friendly The activities and food are expensive on the island
My boy really liked the Marina and being able to fish from the dock. I enjoyed the spacious suite, free continental breakbast. Dinner at the Captiva Inn was delicious. The property was quiet and they have a very nice beach. The jacuzzi could have been warmer.
The beach is pristine and the shelling was great. The back three buildings on the bay side need serious upgrade. The tub drain was rusted and the grout was moldy. The A/C unit drained onto the porch and the floor was always wet.
The pool, proximity to the beach and the helpfulness of the staff. Everything about our stay was wonderful.
So much to do. We were only there for one night. Would definitely return for a long weekend on the islands.
The hotel was close to the beach and resturants. The staff was very helpful. When we got to the hotel they walked us to our room and carried our bags. The resturant on the grounds was very nice, we went for breakfest and dinner The part of the hotel we stated in was a little dated, and there were ants in our room. The parking lot was a mess, it had rained and there was standing water every where, after two days of rain it was like a mud pit! The pool area was nice, but the pool was dirty.
Good location in easy walking distance to the beach on Captiva + in direct neighbourhood to some of the popular restaurants on the island
I liked being on the Island. The room was dingy and smelled moldy. For the amount of money I'd recommend staying somewhere else.
The Celebration House is a terrific facility with a central local to the beach and other islalnd acitivities. Would return. The cottage we were first booked at was right behind the K. L. Rest. so esthetically a turnoff. It was cute but a bit musty. Angie (the Mgr.) offered us a room in the Celebration House upon request. All Good than.
If you want to take time to relax and chill out, Captiva is the best place to do this. The 'cottage' Hibiscus was fine but is in need of refreshing, the bathroom particularly, however thought it was excellent value for money and a perfect location for the beach and restaurants. Thought the room could have had a better daily clean, bedding and towels were changed but no evidence of floors cleaned or any dusting done during 5 days there.
The breakfast was excellent and ability to use beach chairs and umbrella's was good There was not a coffee machine (I did ask for it) and did not get one, The cottage was cute but shabby and needs some major repairs(bathroom) and upgrading or otherwise needs to be rated as budget/backpacking.
The location of the cottage near to the beach and restaurants was good and the provision of a fridge is a necessity. so good to have that facility. There could have been better provision of silverware eg we were not supplied with spoons for the occassional coffee in the cottage.
I like to say that I was blessed that day , upon my arrival to the captiva a lady told me that my room did not have a kitchen. I told her that my reservation said I had a kitchen. she said no and she daid that she did nto have anything else available. so she gave a room right next to the office. the room look big, mini fridge and a macrowave, but the ac did nto work . so she told me that she was going to have to give me the big room. this room it was huge, moderm kitchen and bathroom. I think the price was 500 dollars and I got it for 133 b/c the ac did not work
Captiva Island is a magnificently attractive hotel in a magnificently attractive location. Also the adjacent bar/restaurant (same ownership?) was the finest meal of our 2 weeks in Florida. A more convenient (in house) location for the included breakfast in keeping with its high standards would complete the package and customer offering to a consistent high standard.
