Perfect location, easy access to shopping, restaurants and museums A/C unit blew like a box fan and was quite annoying and not adjustable, toilet clogged and took time for staff to assist, we had a rental car and parking onsite was convenient but outrageously priced...in hindsight I would have booked elsewhere.

Clean. Friendly staff. Location is great. The beds were well used. I slept in a very deep impression in the bed. The mattresses were covered with a duvet placed under a top sheet (instead of a fitted sheet) I assume to make the mattresses feel more comfortable and less lumpy. It was the worst mattress I've ever slept in in a hotel. Poor parking options. $125 for two days (non valet) No roof top bar or pool. Charges for any local outgoing calls or 1-800 #'s. A little thing, but a main bulb was burnt out in the bathroom and it wasn't changed before or during my stay. Made the bathroom quite dark. The tub facet dripped constantly.
We loved the special lounge to relax in. It was like having our own kitchen and living room. Everything was great.
Location - very convenient. One of those hotels that tries to make money on every little extra. Cockroaches on the 26th floor where our room was. Reported it to the front desk - they didn't sound surprised at all.

Couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Allegro The booking site Amoma.com gave me an invalid confirmation number, and since the hotel was already full for the second half of my stay, I ended up quite stressed out and dragging my luggage around for a full day until the hotel had a cancellation and I was able to stay. Amoma.com was very responsive and professional when they finally responded (I think they're based in Switzerland), and I think some third party was responsible for the booking problem, but regardless, my stay was more distressing than I had hoped for. If you have a choice, I would recommend booking with another agency for this location.

The proximity to Grant Park is great! Responsiveness to room requests were slow to non existent. I had to make three requests to have extra pillows delivered to my room (one request in person to the front desk staff, one to housekeeping, and one using the mobile app). I thought that was a bit excessive to get two extra pillows that I was told would be delivered the first time I walked down to the lobby and asked in person.
The location is good: close to subway, next to park, easy to get food to eat. I thought this is a 4-star hotel. When I saw the entrance of this hotel, it looks like 4-star. But when I got into the room, I thought I was in a 2-star Inn. The coffee maker is dirty, full of dust. The computer is not working and not able to off screen. The decoration of the room doesn't look like 4-star. Also, when the guest at next room used the bathroom, the loud "boom" sound would shock you. The WiFi is only free at lobby. The speed is really slow. When I refused to pay $30 for upgrade room with WiFi, the staff looked not happy. My teen girl was very disappointed for her trip to Chicago. She always wants to stay in hotel but this time she didn't want to stay longer.
Large and full service yet not corporate-looking and bland. Very slow elevator.
Booked through kayak the day of to arrive and no record of my booking at hotel. Card was swiped twice, so I had to wait past my stay for the authorization to fall off for the $700 charge. It was a messy situation and one that shouldn't happen while I am taking a break.
The rooms were fantastic, the location was perfect, and the roof top lounge provides the best views of the city.
Room was small and oddly shaped. Could not get wait staff to take our order in the restaurant which was fine since menu didn't look appetizing anyway.
The decor and rooms very nice, and the proximity to restaurants and entertainment was perfect. The rooftop bar was a desirable place to be. Free waters weren't offered for Hilton honors members like other Hilton brand hotels. The only free waters were 2 11oz bottles in the room, which is not what I've come to expect when staying in Hilton hotels. This is a perk I love because I drink a lot of water. Also, there is no incentive for hotel guests to go to the rooftop bar. The cost for admittance is the same no matter what, and you would think they would want their guests to spend more time at their hotel.
Great downtown location. Doors locks dont work. Bathroom fixtures broken.
