good value - lots of amenities and close to everything.
Location. Front desk guy on a Friday around 3pm. We got a hall room, the pool area rooms are probably really loud. Housekeeping knocking on doors loudly in the early morning. Lots of young teenage boys. Elevators.
Location was good for doing things in downtown Duluth. Staff was friendly, room was clean, if on the small side. Room was too close to the 8th floor pool. Good luck taking a nap or sleeping anytime between 6am and 10:30pm.
Overall it is a good hotel. Clean, room was clean and smelled good. Good area for walking to bars/restaurants, getting to the pier, etc and not far from the highway. Front desk person was nice and even suggested a few spots for hiking for us. We stayed on a level that had a pool and it was pretty loud. They have two pools I believe and they take up the exact center of the floor and have rooms surrounding the pool with maybe 10 feet of space on each site. We could hear conversations going on at the pool from our room with the TV on, so definitely ask for a room not on a pool level if you want a little more quiet setting. Overall a good hotel though.
The room is clean. The fridge is too nosie.
Clean, friendly staff, lots of amenities, nice rooms. Pool was loud until close and then it was nice and quiet. Great place. Will stay again! Nothing
It's proximity to great attractions and sight seeing.
Staff was very friendly My window leaked a lot of cold air so I had to pull the shade to the room warm
Our room overlooked the atrium pool. During pool hours (almost ALL our time there), so unable to take a nap at 4:00 after hawk watching. And until the pool closed at 10:30, VERY noisy. I would stay here again ONLY if could get an interior room away from the pool.
The location is great, close to Canal Park and the Duluth sights that most tourists want to see. We've been staying here on family vacations for many years and this hotel just feels comfortable, like a favorite pair of Levis.
Very nice & well managed hotel. Close to everything, and quite comfortable. I can see where if you had a room by a pool it might be too noisy. We did not, we had a room with an amazing view of the harbor and we had a lovely and very relaxing time. Would recommend and we will come again.
Staff very friendly. Hotel is clean. Nice reception for the runners. They jacked the rates up for the marathon. Over $300 per night? In Duluth? Really. It's a Holiday Inn. Our floor was the 10th. Lots of noise echoing through the halls until about 10:30 when the pool closed. No doorways on the hall to block noises from the pool area.
Location is fabulous Clean Friendly staff Efficient staff
Kids like pool and the morning breakfast. Great location, walking distance from many places. Bed could be more comfortable
Spacious room with two queen beds. Great view of Lake Superior. Walking distance to multiple restaurants and attractions.
The keys didn't work well. Otherwise everything else was good. Karen
Location!! Happy hour!
They advertise that each room is a suite which is false. Our room was smaller than a standard hotel room and had no separate room The hotel staff member was not very accommodating. We switched hotels after the first night bc we have small children and need a separate space.
We spent two days with the fireplace and in-room whirlpool. Cold and cloudy, but the balcony still afforded a wonderful view of Superior. The staff was extremely helpful and down right sweet. And that's always a plus! That we could not stay longer.
Great staff; Location superb - closest hotel to Convention Center. I loved the warehouse-reftrofit character of my room. I could even open my window to hear the sounds of the harbor. Loved the place. Cleaning supplies left a "minty-grapefruit-petro" smell that was noticeable upon arrival.
Always quality. Very comfortable. No meat w breakfast. Timberlodge was closed for the season.
The convenience of Canal Park the hotel is close to everything. Since the Hotel was remodeled from a warehouse all interior suites are high ceiling dungeons. The rooms had the decorating touch of some of the former warehouse workers who then sold there household furniture to add to the ambience. The exterior of the building was only missing the touch of a couple of drunks by the front door. To be fair it was twenty below wind-chill that day. So in the fall they are probably there. The walk across a busy street with luggage did add to my excitement while I stayed there. Oh I almost forgot the breakfast seemed like it was sent over from a near by restaurant there yesterday left overs.
The interior room was very spacious and included a kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator. The only time I missed having a window was waking up in the morning to darkness. Other than that, I never thought about it. The range hood fan was perfect for some white noise while sleeping. The room felt very private, and the location was ideal. Also included free parking.
the price compared to every other property on the canal. The coffee was Luthern Church weak, I could see the bottom of the cup. It was a little weird having a room with no windows, but ok since hardly ever in the room. The layout was a bit odd, couldn't watch TV from bed, or couch for that matter. Toilet was incredibly short, low to the ground.
The bed was comfortable The staff were rude. The hotel is dated and dingy. It's inconvenient in regards to parking not only the location of the lots but the fact you have to place a parking slip on your dash and provide the hotel with your license plate and car info. A little redundant to save time for their staff not their customers. The staff was lazy and entitled especially the day manager. Hotel is very dark and features colors such as hunter green. It has an odor and generally is not clean and overpriced. But the worst part is the staff.
