We liked that it was right on the marina and attached to Skippers restaurant which we ate at twice in the day we were there. The pool was lovely. We liked the pretty area to sit in front of the marina. Pool towels available. The room was a good size and comfortable. Didn't like that there were no chairs to sit outside your room
Staff was cordial. Breakfast was goodrr Rooms and baths were a little shabby
A little noisy
The location of the hotel was good. It is located on the water and easily walkable to two good restraurants. It is perfect if you want to scuba or Snorkle because the boats take off right from the hotel. The pool was also nice with a separate hot tub area. At night it is all lit up and a very pretty place to walk along the water The room itself was ok. The beds were comfortable and the air was cold and that is about it. It is outdated and a little dirty but for a short stay it was fine
Two restaurants near the hotel was a plus but prices caused us to drive to a different location to have our meals. The overall location was good and was near many activities that my family had planned. Employees were very nice and actually attended to any of our issues. The breakfast was nice as well. The pool was not the best and the hot tub was worse. I also did not like that private sailboats and other water crafts were tied up along the marina because trying to sleep and waking up at 2 am because of a fight or loud music is unpleasant.
Loved everything! Very pleasant atmosphere and lovely setting on the marina, the pool was great, situated next to Skippers restaurant which had great food and terrific Pina coladas! Staff was wonderful too!
The room was cool and the bed linens were clean. The bathroom needs updating. The wooden bathroom cabinet was rotted and the tub had mold. The pool needs some fixing up....like the concrete around the pool. The building in general is run down and the elevators look dirty.
Decent location with a lot of nearby points of interest. Wasn't very clean, especially the floors and bathroom. Rather dated. Windows were dirty and non operational.
That it is located in Key Largo Let me say that I am not usually a complainer. I understand that details can get missed in hotels, etc. That being said, where to start on the problems with this place? First, the room we had was extremely dated. That by itself is not a problem, but, not only was it dated, it was also in very bad shape. Everything in the room was completely worn. The sink was cracked and leaky, the faucet was corroded, the vanity in the bathroom was falling apart, the tub was broken, and the toilet leaked foul water from under it when it was flushed. And that was just the bathroom! The beds are so worn they were sagging in the middle and uncomfortable. The AC system sounded like it was on its last leg, and the vent looked like it was literally about to fall out of the ceiling. The ceiling fan creaked and squeaked so bad it was unusable. The door had massive air gaps where you could look through and see sunlight. But, really, besides the raw sewage coming from under the toilet, worst of all was the that there were no curtains on the windows, and a shutter system that was on the outside. The cranks to operate the shutter was broken, and the shutters could only be opened from the outside. Anyone walking by could just open the shutters if they pleased, and we could have done nothing to stop it from inside the room. It was a terrible night! I called the from desk and they had no other rooms. I called every other hotel I could find in the area and everyone of them was booked solid. We just had to basically wait it out until morning. Whatever you do, avoid this hotel unless you like third world accommodations.
We left our dog home Paper thin walls
Lovely pool area, nice view of the marina. Room was a little small, but the price was right, and it was clean. Nice bar/restaurant next door, and only maybe a 1-minute drive to the highway. 5 minutes to the nearest Publix. A surprising amount of street noise. Also, family in the next building over (same property, just a different building) sat out on their balcony until 2 am or so and they were REALLY noisy, and did so with seeming impunity (there were many of them and only two of us, so I didn't want to start picking a fight).
We loved that there were restaurants on both sides and are walking distances. The pool is nice and big with plenty of shades by trees. The place is a little bit older and nothing has been updated.
Was in Key Largo for 5 days for work related training. Was able to get a room for just $72 a night, which was a better deal than a room only on Airbnb. The area behind the inn leading to the water is well maintained and they have one of the few kayak launches. Fishing available and I think the kayaks were provided by Bayside Inn. Beautiful view. I paid $403 for five days and I think I got a great price. Thanks Kayak and Bayside Inn!~ I had to bein training early so missed the breakfast until my last day. The breakfast they provide was standars continental(sp): begals, muffins, ceral, milk, orange juice, coffee. No complaints.
The property is old but the rooms were clean, comfortable bed. Location is convenient to John Pennecamp and other area attractions. The adjacent restaurant had good food and service and an excellent sunset view. The pool was very nice, clean and had enough lounge chairs. I cannot call this a "beach" property. The area that was open to the bay was only about 20 feet wide with man-made walls on either side. There was sand but not much water.
Convenient location Bathroom needs updating. And there's no beach. (The website makes it look like there's beach access)
The view is beautiful the hotel it Okey little bit expensive but Okey. My room it was very clean and comfortable the staff very professional development
Beds were not comfortable room was old and dated no curtains in room sheets were wrong size for bed kept falling off
The location is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is a bit run down and needs an overhaul. Everything from the towels to the showers and windows is pretty rundown.
Dirty room. Grime in the windows, dead bugs in the screen. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets were sticky. The original desk person put us in the wrong room, and later we were locked out in the cold winds while the sorted out their mistake. Then they tried to charge us for five extra days. The rooms were very outdated and were nothing special. Avoid this overpriced, dirty establishment at all costs.
Good place for the price. The bathroom door had swollen up and wouldn't close or open easily. But other than that, had no problems.
Love how close it was to the water and to restaurants We couldn't check in early
Location Price for poor quilty
Dated rooms in serious need of repair and renovation. Rooms were staffed up but not clean. Mold, dust, everywhere.
Private beach area (though small), central location. Shower pressure sucked, refrigerator not cold, floor dirty (had white socks on and they were black on the bottom).fan in the bathroom did not work, door difficult to open/close, kept loosing Internet connection, a/c noisy, NEEDS updating!
OLD & OUTDATED BEDS WERE TERRIBLE
The "room" was actually a small apartment with master suite upstairs and fully comfortable accommodations downstairs for other guest(s) with TV, closet, and full bath. Full kitchen with table and chairs,, and screened balcony overlooking the canal completed the suite. Everything was spotlessly clean. Walking distance to several restaurants and boating opportunities. The facility was an older building but because the owners take maintenance and upkeep very seriously, everything was very nice.
Staff leaves you alone. Big rooms. You're going to be listening to music so bad only a drunk person could like every evening from 6-11. There's a LOUD bar across the canal. I've heard better karaoke than the wannabe-Hootie crap crooners over there. From time to time, you will also hear people working on their boats in the canal. Total lack of creature comforts in the room: no soap or shampoo, terrible coffee. The lager lout at the reception seems to be proud of this frugality. If you want to use the hotel wireless, forget it. It is so slow as to be unusable when the signal is strong enough to connect at all. I tested 3 different mobile devices and they ALL worked poorly with the hotel Wifi; it's them, not my stuff. Outside the hotel, just walk down the street toward the water and there is trash all over the place, abandoned cars, a boat detailer, and a gated rich-bastard-only-accessible community. Go the other way and there's US 1. Lovely. About the reception.... I booked through hotels.com and there was some bullshit extra feel when I got there! Over $300 up front for 3 nights and then I have to pay 5 bucks more when I get there!? If this were BUDGET accommodation, I would not be so bothered. But to get the same old Keys rubbish style accomodation (noise, little fees, no nice little things) for a midrange price is just not cutting it. The parking lot that John Pennekamp State Park calls a "camp site" would cost 1/3 what this place did and is usually quieter; especially since the park outlawed booze. I have been a frequent Keys visitor since 2002 and I have observed a decline in just about everything except the prices and traffic over these last 14 years. Future trips will probably be out-island Bahamas or the less overdeveloped, ruined-by-cruise-ship Windward Islands. These places may sound expensive, but the Keys rip-off is getting to where you have pay premium prices for budget-level quality. There is no checkbox above for what best describes this hotel: El Cheapo for a premium, no so groovily decaying, cut corners but not cut rate.
Loved it still talking about it
The view of the canal The general condition of our room was poor and unclean There were exposed wires hanging from the overhang in fron of the door. The front door when latched showed a large air gap. The living room furniture looked so unclean that we used bath towels on the seats and back. The carpet was so dirty that my white sicks were filthy on the bottom after only one day. Upstairs we found mouse droopings under the vanity. The interior of the oven was disgusting. Need I say more!!! Spend a little more and get a clean room!!
2 floors, separate bedroom and bathroom upstairs this place was awful. Dishes were dirty when arrived. Beds were uncomfortable. Towels were old and ragged. Bathrooms needed severe updating.
The view of the canal, activities and restaurants within walking distance, plenty of parking, kitchen with dish washer, good air conditioning and ceiling fans The actual cost after tax recovery charges and other fees add about another $25.00 per day than is advertised. The refrigerator didn't work properly and ruined food. The overall condition was old and in disrepair.
They make you sign pool towels out then even when you sign them back in you get a hidden charge! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. I'll tell them to stay next door at the holiday inn where the staff are much friendlier the pool area is way better the price is cheaper and they don't make you sign out stupid pool towels!!! I barely had enough room in my luggage for my own stuff why the heck would I stuff a ratty towel in there???
Verry nice staff at frontdesk, yveth. Nice view, and clean We couldn't swim in the pool, dirty water, and a lot of noice during we stay with the renovation. We need to go for a swim to another hotel, even for breakfast
Bright bedroom Building site
The view from our room was fantastic, the room was very clean. A great location for access to the upper keys. This hotel is a great deal for the price!
The location, only 3 miles from the John Pennekamp Coral Reef state park. The hotel is undergoing renovations at the moment so the entire hotel was a construction site in November 2010. No breakfast included and staying here doesn't come cheap.
to be honest, nothing except free parking and free acces to net. really disapointed after all. very cheap and not enough beach towels, foods for breakfast, too expensive for this quality of hotel. never take for this price
