Staff at the reception was gentle Internet not working. Bathroom in poor state. Coffee at breakfast was... green (yes!). Even worse during Ramadan because the restaurant was only proposing the same buffet each evening (quality of the food questionable). Tunisian people calls it an "Hotel for Lybians".
Location Noisy, not that clean, breakfast not good, ac not working
Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were OK but room was on the small side and showing its age Failure to deliver on services that were paid for and the lack of staff when we needed them early in the morning for an airport transfer
ratio between price and quality
Your helpful staff Getting in and out of the centre by taxi proved difficult on occasions
Nice location, clean room. both the lifts were not working. bathroom was not too clean.
The staff was very friendly and the price was great.
The hotel is well placed close to the Medina. Staff speak a little English but it is better if you speak French. The pillows are just dreadful!
The main areas and the welcome from the night receptionist keep your wits around you if you happen to fancy a late or early walk in the vicinity
Good breakfast selection. Helpful staff. Convenient location to shopping, Medina, train station, tram, theater and restaurant. Air conditioning was not optimized for comfort. In other words, the room never cooled down to a comfortable temperature.
Location is only good point. Wi-Fi could not be used. I could not get the receipt for a taxi to the airport, though the hotel receptionist said that I could get it from taxi driver. In addition, the level of taxi driver the hotel arranged was very poor. He take me to the different terminal.
The location which is in the city center. WIFI not available at the room
I think that the breakfast and dinner room on the ground floor had a nice ambiance and served very good food. The bedroom was also attractive and spacious. Service was efficient at the desk. Communication could be improved at the desk. It was not clear whether internet access was free in the lobby. I did not know that the rooftop bar was closed and had actually planned to spend an evening there.
Very friendly, comfortable hotel in excellent location for Medina nad other city sitess and transport. Small enough for a relaxing nd personal experience. Some of the food we had in the Dome restaurant was really superb.
Hotel is very nice, food is great and service is perfect. it is rare that guest gets great hotel, good service, and perfect food. the daily buffy was very good. rooms very clean and hotel has great facilities for relaxation. perfect restorant within walking distance from hotel
Service is excellent especially room service. All was good or excellent.
Public areas luxurious, buffet breakfast was outstanding, buffet dinner best we had in tunisia, beautiful heated indoor pool, large room with sofa and twin beds, huge bathroom with lots of lighting Absolutely nothing
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karthago Le Palace. Very relaxing. None
Not many tourists
The cleaning ladies maintained the room cleanly everyday. The breakfast was rather simple and untintersting. The room rate was high for foreign visitors compared with that of locals.
The staff were very helpful, no fridge,no safe,no free internet, shower door would not open completely due to the position of the sink,I had to go sideways into the shower.I found it strange that the fee charged by booking.com was slightly higher than the published official room rate. What was the advantage of booking early???Also the hotel gave me my change in Dinars but would only take Euro notes.....and you cannot change dinars back to Euros without an official receipt.Breakfast was 6 to 8,one morning coffee was not ready until 6.45.
I did not like anything -- I feel tricked by booking.com _ I coulld not cancel the day before - upon arrival they said the hotel is full - got a room in annex -- no curtains; felt unsafe.
The hotel has a lot of character - attractive imitation Roman ruins around the pool and in the lobby. The food is excellent at all of the restaurants, and most of the staff are very kind The music is too loud at the outdoor restaurant by the pool
Normal ,nothing major attracted me 1st day the electricity of my room was cut, and the fixed it in a very long time, after fixing the electricity I discovered thAt the Air condition is not working and they didn't fix it until I left the hotel ,really it was a very bad experience for 5 stars hotel
The sport center is good with good gym facilities, inside pool, sauna and hammam. Hotel is far from everything. Nothing around and need to take a taxi to go out (beach, restaurant,...)
comfort, atmosphere, cafe and restaurant
Great hotel! large and clean room with nice view. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was funtastic too. I recommned my friends to stay the hotel.
In my first day the hot water on taps was limited.
Clean room, spacious and central location. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Overpriced, Dar El Medina was the same price and much better value for money. The reception staff were not very friendly.
The location is good and rooms are good for tunisian standards I suggest they also review this hotel on ratings on discrimantion, a group of middleaged men, part of the staff of the hotel, dressed in polyester suits standing in front of the main entrance , with a lot of attitude and arogancy , refuse entrance to the hotel to any tunisian person, my longtime tunisian friends who wanted to come visit me during my stay in the africa hotel , were rudely and very impolite refused entrance and turned away , not even handing over their papers and making copies of their passports which I suggested in last resort to still make it possible for them to enter the hotel was rudly denied by an also arrogant and very unfriendly recepsionist....this is discrimination ....and unacceptable !!
Location, price and comfort. Firstly, services were slow. Secondly, all the answering machines are only in French. It's an Arab country so Arabic language should be used in the answering machines. Even English should be used because it's an international language.
The 1930s-type design and atmosphere of the hotel was great, as was the well-patronised restaurant. Absolutely plagued by mosquitoes in our room at night, ruined two out of three nights' sleep.
nothing at all the that is not a hotel, very dirty and nothing in the room. bqd service and no breafast nothing at all the that is not a hotel, very dirty and nothing in the room. bqd service and no breafast it is not q recommended hotel
Only one person was polite, and that was the General Manager The hotel is in a dreadful location. The street it's on is filthy with heaps of rubbish, car repair shops, and broken sidewalks, making it virtually impossible to walk anytime. The hotel itself is in dire need of a complete overhaul. The building is very old and it shows. Also, the staff is quite rude and lose their temper at the slightest comment. Breakfast (tea/coffee & toast) was never ready on time, and the all-male bar crowd is quite loud and rowdy all night.
the position not clean include restaurant
I would like honesty of the staffs. The honesty in saying things obout the hotel, explanations, etc.
Very good situation, kind personal.
Very comfortable, staff friendly.
great nothing special. Except Hotels in Tunisia there is no real Non Smoking policy!!!
Room staff and doorman were great buffet food could have been better
Quietness of the location. Watch out on the Beauty Saloon they can rip you off. It is unfortunate in a name like Sheraton such organisation can be left uncontrolled to abuse their possition.
Spaciousnous of the foyer and bar staff very helpful Food and drinks manager extremely helpful Lack of adequate heating in the bedroom. Also shower facility not good, an unpleasant and unrefreshing experience, almost an ordeal: cramped
Staff was good, hotel is ok but nothing special Poor value for money, but this is Tunis is big names is expensive. Other guests got better rate from local companies
ok, not great, but fine for short visits
staff were friendly and rich breakfast The hotel location was far away from city centre and did not match as specified in booking.com
the staff my room
The location is in a very poor grubby part of the city! It was extemely noisy however it was fairly cheap and drnks and food at the hotel were fairly priced. They advertise WI FI for free in the rooms. Could barely get online long enough to do anything ithout it cutting out!
Convenient start point for travel through Tunisia Disappointed at requests for low-value Tunisian change at bar having only just arrived in country
I was satisfied with my staying at this hotel. It was clean enough and good-located. The only regret is that the breakfast was nothing special even though it was edible enough. But I can recommend this hotel with the exception of the breakfast.
The location of hotel give it the big advantage, and free high speed wireless connection is amazing. The Picture give a wrong imprestion of hotel status, i find the the disapplity sign in pictures but nothing in found in hotel.
Very well working free wi-fi, renewed room, nice doble bed. Juices in the breakfast don't taste so good
The Ambassadeurs Hotel was a good place to stay, the beds are incredible! The buffet breakfast was horrible! , the hotel is not well situated since is to far from the medina, souk and principal avenue that is nice to walk, there was a woman in the reception that was not nice at all since I made her questions about how to get to Sidi Abu Said and she answered in a bad mood, she doesn´t like occidentals, but the other guys in the reception were nice
Rooms were wide and clean . staff were so friendly facilities at the hotel were very good. Staff they don't wear a name tag. While checking out there was 300 tnd extra in my bill , when I asked why they say this is for the safe key in the room , I said I already gave you the key. She said ok I will change the bill.without saying sorry. I believe they do this with everybody . especially with ppl how don't know French.
good quality hotel though a bit far from things to do. booking.com incorrectly shows this hotel as located in la marsa, it is actually quite north in gammarth. staff were friendly and helpful and it is located directly on the beach.
weather, beach, one of the restaurants bit to expensive
The pool was nice and so was the beach. The food was good, but way to expensive. The food was expensive. There was nothing that catered to the vacation or children. There should be a kids menu. And no excursions.
location of the hotel is nice being close to the sea hotel does not deserve 5 stars, they stole my money from the room and the cleaning was not done properly
Breakfast at the hotel was good. The food generally speaking was quite good. Staff were friendly but clueless. The have no concept of proactive service or what most would consider practical advice. At least three quarters of the advertised features of the hotel were closed/undergoing "renovation". Definately not a 4 star as claimed. Executive rooms were definately standard. The old girl has seen better days.
Beach and pool. Breakfast did not have many choices. Internet recption in the room very poor. I was there on business for 3 days amd pleasure for 3 days. The rate for the next 3 days increased by more than 65%.
excellent restaurants, good service and staff. beach and pools were wonderful. gym was small, poorly equipped, no water, no towels, certainly did not rate as a gym for a five stay hotel
clean, polite, great restaurants inside the hotel, great view. many mosquitos
clean hotel, very good pools , nice beach, very nice buffet and very good Halfaouine Restaurant! delicious! tooooo far from the site of carthage, needs a car or taxi , no public transport and absolutly no way to take an afternoon-evening walk around.
Staff very polite Only one restaurant function during the night
I liked the beautiful, traditional building of this little "Chambres d'hote"l, and its modern, stylish facilities. The breakfast was big and very good. There is not really a reception desk, where you can find a responsible staff anytime, although there is one or more service person(s). This was inconvenient, when I needed to make a claim over two originally-white clothes which turned into pale blue after coming back from cleaning by the hotel. I spoke to an employee lady and left a note to the owner-manager, but haven't received any reply from her.
Dar Fatma was a wonderful hotel. It is less of a hotel and more of a residence. Don't expect a front desk or concierge, it's a simple hotel but beautiful! The rooms are simple but elegant, a beautiful rooftop terrace and as always, wonderful Tunisian people who are very helpful. I would encourage anyone to try this place! The only negative would be that a taxi can't drop you off at the front door... be prepared to carry your luggage a couple of bloacks uphill on cobblestones. I thought it was huge fun, but I can see how it might be a bit difficult for someone who is older.
Rooms a bit small - but well decorated. Great atmosphere. Warm friendly staff - all three of them. Great little restaurants very close by. The wifi does not work well. But this is not a business hotel, after all.
Minimalist design Not much breakfast.
The hotel is small and intimate, run by a French couple, who take allot of pride in their work. The rooms are simply furnished but elegant. The breakfast is again simple but everything is freshly made or squeezed and tastes exquisite.
Pleasant and helpful staff with good breakfast and the convenience of its location . Inadequate heating in all areas, and we had a problem with the water supply but it was rectified the next day.
A small, stylish boutique hotel converted from a picturesque traditional house. We very much enjoyed our stay. There are no cars nearby which is bliss and the views from the roof terrace are amazing. A two minute walk down the hill give you access to restaurants, cafes and the market. As it's quite small, you felt as if you couldn't make any noise. Because it's in such a nice location, during the day there can be coach loads of tourists walking by. Sometimes relaxing on roof terrace was hard because of renovations nearby.
Excellent location. The room is clean with the great view of the Mediterranean. Roof terrace is just lovely and its really a good place to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. No fridge and no safe in the room.
Discretion and availability of staff AMEX not accepted. Should be specified at booking
Intimate and personalised. Charming and efficient hosts. Authentic historic dwelling. Conveniently placed for travel to historic sites by train and taxi Room slightly "narrow" for bed placement
It was a good hotel. Not a Sheraton but nice and confortable. Godd food and happy people all around. The price is amazin!
Very good value for the money!
The room was rather big and quiet. The bathroom was clean. The carpet in the room was extremely dirty, and the staff was not helpful. There is nothing around - if you want to go out in the evening, you'd have to take a taxi to the center (I wouldn't recommend walking in the evening, it's not a very pleasant area).
Clean and value oriented budget hotel. Facilities are good for the money, wireless available, and quite a decent breakfast compared to other places in Tunis. Good for a solo traveler.
Room big, comfortable and clean. Food good. Staff gentle. Not blue towels in bathrooms. Seem not to be very clean.
Nothing 1- when I checked in they told me I have no booking 2-the bids un comfortable for 5 stars hotel.3- the staff cooperate with Taxi driver for extra money(trip from hotel to airport it cost 6 td I Paid 45 td plus 5 td because he have no change
The hotel was very new and very clean. Got upgraded to a suite which was extremely large and well furbished. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. Location not in the center but still manageable (however taxi do not know the location well since it is a new hotel). Bed mattress was very hard (I guess still brand new). Wifi did work in the room but could not connect to my Outlook. The hotel had no license to sell alcohol.
The hotel has nothing to do with 5stars hotels. the service and teh room is not 5 stars
It is the best value money None
the rooms are very big the service at breakfast was very poor. There was no coffee available, you have to ask the server for it ans takes quite a long time. The firs day I had to ask it twice.
please kindly be informed that as soon we arrived to Vime Tunis hotel ,our booking in this hotel via booking .com was for 3 rooms including breakfast actually we find booking for 2 rooms not including breakfast than they provide us with the other room after showing the booking confirmation again in the morning as soon we come for breakfast they informed us that the deal they have with booking .com only for room rent not including breakfast, after that we solf the problem with the reservation manager after log desiccation witch is not fair , next time i will not use or recommend this hotel to any bady. Nathing
The setting of the hotel and ambiance is stunning and the staff brought a warmth to the experience which was the icing on the cake. I would happily recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Cats wandering around the breakfast table and in the pool.
Stunning views from garden and terraces... An oasis of calm in this beautiful village (overcrowded by tourists during day time). Superb rooms! Cleanliness of the bathroom was not good with Lots of hairs...
lovely setting and staff was very pleasant. would liked to have stayed longer and im sure it is wonderful in warm weather.
Sea view from breakfast, friendliness of staff, location
nice room,nice view,nice breakfast!
It is nice to relaxe at the pool and beach and to visit sidi bu said and tunis
Guest relation officer Ramzi..Very helpfull The noise, a disco was going on beyond 4 am. Couldn't sleep before my early morning flight. The internet is not free
Friendly and helpful staff, in a beautiful, well maintained hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Overly pedantic/difficult about visiting family, unnecessarily so even though security is important. WifI was good, but the Internet connection sporadic. A plan of the facilities would have been useful.
poor conditions of moquete, rooms, toilets
Internet is not Free of charge. It was free of charge in the condition of the reservation, but the staff did not take it.
Excellent location for transportation to airport and to train station while at walking distance to Tunis medina Very noisy room (ear plug required).Cleanliness of the room was poor. Internet access was difficult to set-up and staff was unaware of WiFi procedure/limitations.
Excellent location for accessing airport and visiting Tunis medina Very noisy room (ear plug required).Cleanliness of the room was poor. Internet access was difficult to set-up and staff was unaware of WiFi procedure/limitations.
The location is very central and ideal for business. Availability of transport is so conducive with the bus station next door and ease of taxis The location of the dining room is a bit interfering with the other hotel activities.
