A clean renovated hotel just a few blocks walk from Yale's old campus and art galleries. The breakfast buffet was inexpensive and ample and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Front desk staff was very hospitable and friendly. When I asked for a room modification instead of acting like it was nuisance they happily looked into it and ended up accomodating. The room was clean and very comfortable. I will definitely be returning!
The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable Having to pay extra for parking
friendly staff, quick checkin/out, clean rooms, great location AC was set to 60 deg but never got below 72-75.. and the bed wasn't overly comfortable.
Everything was very clean, and the rooms are quite nicely appointed. Most of the staff was very nice, too (there was just one check-in person who I found a bit rude). No breakfast included - even of the most basic kind. It's located on a somewhat dicey street. The workout facilities were minimal. The views from the room were ugly, and a bright light from the garage comes in unless you use the full blinds.
Location to Yale. Clean. Expensive parking.
The room is clean, tidy with nice furniture, hdtv and comfortable mattresses. The hotel is currently under renovation. Therefore, the gym is not available, which is listed in the web site.
The whole hotel had a complete overhaul, as did our room. The smell of fresh paint and carpet... Love it. The rooms were spacious, absolutely spotless, (almost) everything brand new, great big beds with lots of pillows. I couldn't understand why they would choose to have such a big renovation, obviously everything was well designed and good quality, only to leave the old shower floors in! Especially as ours was actually quite worn and grubby. The combination of old browning plastic with shiny new marble is not my idea af a design feature...
Location in downtown New Canaan Someone is apparently in it for the money only here, the New Haven Hotel offers no value and certainly no "caring" attitude. For that it charges too much at $ 159 per night. You get: - Good downtown location. - Clean room, good size. - Thin walls, to hear the neighbors, and everyone from the hallways. - Mattresses of dubious quality. - Breakfast, a stale buffet in a dark 2nd floor room, is an unfriendly reminder that nobody cares, and at $ 13.99 someone wants to make good money. - Self parking at the Temple Garage at $ 20 overnight, when the public rate is $ 16, no value add, just a surcharge by the hotel. Staff could have pointed out that there is a free parking on weekends around and across... - Very friendly and helpful receptionist, one person only. And Housekeeping knocking at the door at 9am on a Sunday morning makes this a bit of a bad dream in New Haven. Good luck!
Facilities are modern and up-to-date. Very clean. Parking fees are not included in booking prices
