very poor customer service and staff did not speak good English.
the housekeepers were fantastic, the room was immaculate and cleaned everyday and fresh towels and bedding everyday also. The receptionists were helpful too and the location is great. I think the pool area was too small for the size of the hotel, we only found a space by the pool once, late afternoon. As the beach is so beautiful and close this is not a huge problem but could affect families.
Good facilities and attentive to cleanliness. Food has much improved since the year before. If going benicasim music festival then this is a good choice
the rooms were very contemporary and luxurious and generally superior to what I had expected though efficient, the staff were not always entirely polite
The one redeeming factor was the only friendly barman, other than that it was a pretty disappointing stay. The staff were pretty unhelpful, the rules changed daily especially if you were British, there were some unruly people around the pool, but felt we were penalised for others bad behaviour! beds were really uncomfortable & unless you got a bed by the pool at 10am there wasn't enough to go round.
Unfortunately I did not like anything about this hotel. Large hotel, no character, desk staff gave impression that they had no time to serve clients and got rid of client as quickly as possible. Dining room staff very pleasant. Bathroom shower stall had mold in base. Hotel and breakfast poor quality for price paid.
the rooms were a decent size and the bathrooms recently refurbished with excellent facilities the, food was poor - it was very mass-produced - even the orange juice was squash; it is next to the Marina D'or complex which has 3/4 and 5 star accommodation and the local restaurants seem to mirror this though the 3 star was again very poor for food.
the room was good no room service...no bar...no coffee and tea facilities in bedroom...no mini bar ..
Most of the staff were knowledgeable and helpful, some were really excellent and went out of their way to help. The hotel does not live up to its 5 star billing and the price of the rooms. The decor throughout the hotel is dated and needs modernising, and the rooms are not even close to what I would consider 5 star - the beds in particular are sub-standard. After 4 nights I had a sore back and I never have back problems. Also the shower was worse than my shower at home. Sure, the bath and pool complex is elaborate and obviously takes a lot of money to build and maintain, but this should be an added bonus at a hotel, not the main event - take the fact that the pools were largely deserted as evidence that most of the guests were off doing other things.
it was acceptable, not up to a 5* in my opinion more 3.5 -4*. ask for a sea veiw as the back overlooks a theme park and i could hear the chilldren screaming till about 11pm at night. i had my room changed and it was much better.
Spacious rooms 1. Heating not working. 2. No wireless internet in rooms, wall plug diffucult to find to connect cable. 3. Lots of facilities closed. 4. Parking not included in arragement. 5. Bathroom - shower/bath dangerous to get in and out.
Opposite to the railway station, and a ten minute walk to the city centre Airconditioning was hardly working
Excellent job handling bencassim festival. beds are not super comfortable.
The air-conditioning actually worked well, without being noisy.
Friendly staff and cleanliness of all areas. Excellent choice of items for breakfast. Having to pay for overnight car parking. Hot items at breakfast were mainly cold.
Very close to the rail station
reception staff is perfect, kind and also helpfull it's more a business hotel than a vacation one. Far from the sea but it was just for a short trip. so our lease car, all was parfect. Just one thing, parking should be free and take care about the breakfast charge. Adult or children, it's the same price :-(
Very cheap, considering the facilities. Right next to the main train station, nice staff, very modern room. Wireless internet was 6 Euro per hour.
Rooms & bathrooms were very modern, clean & had good facilities. complimentary bath items always useful. plenty of space for storage etc.
The cleanlines and comfort the noise fromthe cleaners early in the morning
Very friendly and helpfull hotelstaff.
directions from your website to Hotel were not very good - very difficult to read street signs (some non existent) - took me 1 hour to get to Hotel due to 1 way street system from outskirts of Castellon
Very good located hotel in the center of beautiful town. Clean rooms with plenty of space. Very narrow parking difficult to get in and out.
privacy and silent
Staff helpfulness, cleanliness of room, air conditioning, bathroom facilities, quietness of rooms.
noise between rooms was too much
Superb Staff and excellent facilities
I only stayed one night but the bed and pillows were very comfortable and it had a nice breakfast buffet.
The hotel lobby is nice and the room was pleasant. No service in the lobby with the luggage, little smile, the restaurant food was not very good.
Friendly, clean. Breakfast service cleanliness and choice excellent. loactaion excellent. Bit pricy. Fridge provided in rooms. Some eqipment not working properly, air conditioning - but was fixed. Access to pool was extra cost and not made clear.Parking is difficult.
The pool was nice, was convenient for the benicassim festival, Any documentation we were given about activities and the spa etc were all in Spanish would of been nice to have them in a few languages that other people would understand. The food in the hotel and the whole resort was absolutely horrible the worst I have ever had on a holiday I cannot emphasise enough how bad it was !!
Friendly helpful staff in both the hotel and adjoining restaurant. Good location within easy reach of all services.
cleanliness of the room!
The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the train station (which makes a day trip into Valencia very easy and inexpensive). It is directly across a major department store (El Cortes Ingles) and a beautiful park. The rest of the shopping and dinning area is about a 5-10 minute walk, which I would recommend taking through the park. The area is quite and safe. The room was a very spacious studio with a sofa, kitchen and small dining table. They have a restaurant downstairs with a nice dinner menu. The cost is not high and the portions are good, so well worth it. The hotel has a small elevator, so it does not fit much more than 2 people and a suitcase, so at certain times of the day you have to wait a bit.
Great breakfast and clean and modern rooms no English tv channels
poor continental breakfast no range of food
It was modern and clean. The air conditioning was on a timer and was turned off at night so it was very uncomfortable.
Have to say that the staff were very nice and tried their best to make our stay pleasant The noise and the rooms were very basic with no extra pillows
location is great with a park opposite. lots of bars/cafes/tapas.etc nearby including a good one next door
I guess it's a good hotel as a whole. A friendly staff at the res.desk. A had a two- room suite for 150..very well.I Valencia I would have only a simple room, but this is not a big city, so..) The problem was with the ironing not having been made in time (30 minutes for ironing two shirts with my reminding), and I was late for the meeting. And poor breakfast. But as a whole, the hotel is ok.
Simple, clean and very well priced
The convenience to rail and bus and supermarket and walking distance to the old town area. Unable to work out TV . No instructions on how to use and how to get english subtitles
new hotel distance from room to hotel entrance
Well placed for the railway station, first class room Some distance from town centre, noisy street outside
A gorgeous hotel, very contemporary with high quality furnishings. Right next to the train station.
fast check-in, friendly room service, excellent breakfast the view
The staff were all very helpful. The hotel itself is very clean and contemporary. Our room was spacious. Secure underground parking was free. The breakfast buffet was better than average and well worth the 10 euros per person. The room rate of 50 euros for the night was terrific. We were just looking for a place to pull off the road on our trip to Southern Spain, and this was a perfect place to overnight.
golf tournament the beds are too hard
it was clean and airconditioned and that was its only good point the decor was very cold, the only restaurant menu was very poor and there was no other restaurants nearby.
Its a decent hotel with excellent location just opposite castellon railway station. The restaurant menu needs to be improved in terms of variety. The price i paid during 5th Sept to 9th Sept is very high considering i booked at similar rate (Euro 100 per night double occupancy) in a 4 star property in big city like Barcelona.
El cuarto era excelente, y la atención también
personnel,location breakfast too expensive
A very modern hotel in the centre of town. Very clean and free mini bar!
Newly refurbished hotel rooms with very nice large bathrooms. Very comfortable in all aspects and would use again. Breakfast should be included as standard.
The location was perfect, at least for my needs, and that was the main reason for choosing this hotel, all of the other things were mostly good. the bed was a bit "overused", making sounds on almost every movement, but it wasn't the problem last time i was in the hotel
The staff were very helpful, excellent food, rooms spotless, great facilities Very hard to find the hotel, spent 1 1/2 hrs driving around
Excellent value for money in a great location in the City Centre.Staff could not be faulted, the city itself is charming and people v. friendly with some good shops and a fairly new El Corte Ingles. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk to the bus stops for the Grau area with some good bar/restaurants and to Benicassim, well worth a visit.
Very good hotel and the city itself. The personal in the hotel was very helpful. They helped to order a taxi remotely from the train station very late night
Rooms were comfortable, location was great, breakfast was very good, staff were helpfull the rooms and facilities were good, but not 4-star worthy (a little small, and old). didn´t try the gym/sauna facilities though.
The staff were really friendly and the room was very clean. I had a very comfortable stay at the hotel and would stay there again. Most of the rooms had a balcony and, having requested one, I was a bit disappointed to be in one of the few rooms without.
Modern, comfortable, clean, helpful staff and generall a very nice place to stay!
Location, services Excepting the person from the reception...the stuff dose not speak English
Spacious layout of the accomodation, especially the separate door to the bedroom. Balcony and air conditioning very welcome. Streets were noisey outside (central location) and woodden floors inside with noisey footsteps. I slept with earplugs which is difficult for wake-up alarm.
The hotel was reasonable, however there was a champions league football match taking place locally at Villareal and so the room rates were hiked up. The previous evening we stayed at a much better hotel in Barcelona (Apolo Tryp) for 75% of the cost!!
about the hotel itself, not much, it was an adequate place to spend the night, with a very cheap and nice restaurant downstairs the staff were at first a little pushy to clean the rooms, one morning they knocked and woke us up, despite the fact that the do not disturd sign was up. the rooms were a little bit small, but we never intended to spend the whole day in them, so it didn't really matter, oh and our air con was noisy (room 205), so at night we could either be kept up by the noise or the heat. it was very ovrepriced, during the week of the FIB festival, but all other hotels had also increased their rates, so i shall not hold this against them
Stopped off here on a road trip to Barcelona, Georgeous stylish hotel with an Itallian restaurant with brilliant service. Very modern, clean, spacious rooms. Only stayed one night as a stop off during a road trip, not sure if the location of the hotel would be suitable for a vacation
nice tidy clean rooms, friendly staff and pleasant setting. very central but away from the drinking zone!!!
Convenient private parking. Only slow WiFi internet on the ground floor.
The lovely room and the air conditioning. It was nice to return to the hotel during the hottest part of the day for a siesta. The Catering staff were excellent especially on the night of the World Cup. they kept on serving and looking after the guest even though it was late at night. A bit noisy during the renovations on the second floor but it was not a huge problem.
very bad internet connection in foyer none in rooms very bad internet connection in foyer none in rooms
The hotel is located in the central of Castellon, Our room (224) was I think one of the biggest with 2 TV's and with a huge bathroom. The parking underneath the Hotel is a little tricky since it is very small. The (optional) breakfast is also quite good. We wanted to use the safe box, but the receptionist could not find the key. She asked to come down the next day. Next day there was still no key but then she offered us to change room, which we did not do we could live without it. The other thing is when we arrived the elevator did not work, but was fixed not much after I brought up all the luggages :) from -1 to +2.
nice room, big! verry good price. Well lokated in the center! Near busstop. Telefon in room was not working. Small TV, but who looks at it anyway...
Good - Clean - Quiet hotel. Reasonbly easy to find but could be better signposted. Restuarant not open until 21.00 hrs. Many bars in city centre but few Restuarants
clean comfy rooms with excellent black out blinds. friendly efficient staff the web pages say you have wifi and hairdryers . you only have internet connection not wifi and hairdryers on 2nd floor only
Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Good value for money.
Brand new hotel well located GPS systems does not find it !
Welcome and assistance from staff was 5 star. I will be back in the future
Extremely helpfull staff, very clean and more like 4 star than 3.
The gentleman on reception on the morning we checked in (17 july) was exceptionally helpful. Booking.com had indicated that we could check in anytime after 7am and this was not so, the hotel checkin time was midday onwards. He appreciated that we had been misled and made an extra effort to accommodate us.
It was a welcoming place with clean rooms and a secure car park, overall good value for money
None No one could speak English it was very difficult to organise anything with the staff.
Location in the resort was really good. Secure parking for the Harley's was a bonus. Very spartan rooms. No air conditioning. The beds and decor were very tired and worn. The buffet breakfast was very poor; stale toasted bread, pre-packed croissant and tasteless jam. Not what I would call a buffet!
The restaurant and the pool. The furniture is very old. The perssonel doesn't know english.
All the staff were very friendly including a couple of 'real characters'. The air-conditioning wasn't working in our room but to be fair we didn't even mention it to the staff, I'm sure they would of rectifed it.
when i arrived to my room, it was terrible smell in a bathroom and I asked about any other room. It was very difficult to explain to the member of staff what the problem, because nobody speak english there, but anyway i received other room. Nobody can not speak english.
Hotel Zapata is right next to Oropesa del Mar's excellent beach, Playa La Concha. It has free internet in the lobby, which is great as it's not that easily accessible elsewhere in the town. It has a nice swimming pool, again great as other nearby hotels don't always have pools, and this makes a nice alternative to the beach. We stayed in the height of summer, and the absence of air conditioning made the room stiflingly hot and humid. The lady at the front desk suggested we prop the door open and leave the balcony windows open, which we weren't willing to do as we had valuables, so we checked out after one night and moved to a nearby hotel with aircon. Otherwise the Hotel Zapata was great, this was our only issue, but it did mean a sleepless night in the summer heat, so it was with regret that we left.
