The hotel was warm and inviting and the staff was friendly, attentive and accomodating. It was located on a charming side street in Quebec City and was close to shopping, tourist sites, and restaurants. It snowed while we were there in November and the sophisticated Christmas decorations made it a magical place to be for the holiday season. My family thought, though while very clean, that the rooms looked dated. I thought they seemed charmingly European.
Very Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful interiors, very clean hotel, complimentary Internet and lovely herbal toiletries. Huge flight of stairs from Cote de Palais, Taxis cannot access the St Jean (level floor) entrance because street is closed. Main Lobby desperately needs a lift to reception. Lifts within hotel very slow/unreliable and corridors long. Bistro Saint James was disappointing- waited 40 minutes for very mediocre breakfast. Use Paillard across the street instead.
The location is outstanding, right in the heart of the old city, close to everything. Breakfast wasn't included, but it wasn't a huge deal - there are tons of cafes and bakeries in the neighborhood.
Main area where all the activities occur. Parked the car and did not need to touch it for the duration of my stay.
The staff is most helpful. The main dining room is good and good value for money. The staircase from the main entrance is long and would be difficult for those who have mobility problems or those with heavy luggage which they wish to carry.
The hotel is in an excellent location, within the old town, close to all the sites. Rather expensive; old fashioned.
The convenience to everything. The hotel was very clean/ I think it is over priced a bit. The taxes are high
Right where we wanted to be
The Horel staff are very proffessional, they all have a big smile in their face. As soon as you get in the Hotel, they are taking care of you till you leave. L'emplacement de l'Hotel est excellent, en plein centre ville du vieux Québec, en plus c'était le 400ième aniversaire, on a adoré. The bed was kind of narrow, they should have Queen bed in all single rooms. Also, I was on the 6th and last floor and there isn't any safety bars outside the windows, children can easely open the window and fall 30 feet down.
Proximity to all the attractions of Old Quebec make this an excellent and tasteful choice for the discerning traveller. Staff are warm and well presented. The hotel is very clean, and rooms comfortable. Meticulous! Well done, Manoir Victoria! Paying $23 per day for parking, though I understand it, remains disappointing.
easy access to amenities, spa... food was excellent
Staff was very friendly, bilingual and helpful. We had a larger than typical room as it was handicapped accessible. The kids enjoyed the pull out sofa bed in the separate sitting area (separated by glass doors from the bedroom area) and the jetted tub. The location is very convenient to the Old City and The Citadel. Both areas are just a short 10-15 minute walk. There is also a bus station behind the hotel if you are in need of public transportation. There was a mini-fridge available for use which was spacious enough to hold the iPads and other gaming devices the kids use. There are plenty of mirrors in the bathroom as well as a magnifying mirror. The parking garage has very narrow travel lanes with many tight turns. We had a minivan and ended up scraping into a wall due to the tight turn to enter the garage. The parking spots themselves are also very tight with a minivan. If you have anything larger than a small sedan, you may find the underground parking area a challenge to navigate. The maximum height is just slightly over 6 feet so that could also prove challenging to larger vehicles. The lighting in the bathroom is a bit dim. We appreciated that there was a safe available in the room but found it's placement high in the closet inconvenient for an average height woman (I had to stand on a chair). I can't imagine how a wheelchair bound person would ever be able to reach that high without assistance. Our room was on the same level as the pool and had a window facing the walkway. Unfortunately, we needed to keep the curtains closed for privacy as it was a busy area so this made our room dark for most of our stay.
We enjoyed five nights in a family suite at Hotel Palace Royal. We had our adult nephew with us, and this struck the right balance of family togetherness and privacy -- even having two TVs was a plus. The hotel's location was convenient to everything, yet our room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The room layouts are well thought-out, including the spacious two-part bathroom. The decor and furnishings are elegant. Everything met and exceeded our expectations. In a city of great restaurants, we actually had one of our best meals of the trip at Le Beffroi, the steakhouse in the hotel! The rain kept us in that night, but we did not regret it. It was a special occasion meal, and we rate the selections, service, atmosphere, and quality all very high -- in fact, along with being a very good experience, it was a very good value! Room service for breakfast (a time-saver) was also good quality, and surprisingly no more expensive than a comparable breakfast in a restaurant in town. The pool is ideal for small children or adults who just want to get in and out, but it isn't suited for swimming laps. Rooms with balconies overlooking the pool might have some chlorine smell and noise.
The breakfast is at a restaurant downstairs - very good! Loved the shower, best shower heads (Directly above and on the Side) Parking was extra
walking distance to the cruise terminal. Farmers market right across the street. Walking distance to restaurants.
The hotel staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. The location was situated near all the major attractions Old Quebec City had to offer. The included breakfast was great, good selections and quality. The staff were happy to help direct us to the attractions and city transportation. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again next year.
We were away for 2 weeks and this was by far the most comfortable hotel we stayed at. The design/decorating was eclectic and very pleasing. We stayed in a new wing and our companions stayed in an updated wing of the old building. Both rooms were spacious and very nicely decorated. The large bed was very comfortable. We had a wonderful view of the old city of Quebec. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Quebec. There was nothing that could be construed as negative in our stay at Hotel Champlain.
The convenience of being so close to everything!
friendly staff good breakfast clean rooms and great location
The hotel is well located and staff is very nice.
Location, location, location Not luxurious, but clean and comfortable. Great coffee machine in the lobby. Good value While breakfast buffet was good, it is presented in a very crowded space making it difficult to serve yourself.
The attention of the crew Nothing
located in the central area noise, parking not available
Very good location. Well-equiped lobby (computer, newspapers, cafee machine). Parking on site. Good breakfast.
Conveniently located, excellent service, excellent spacious room, free Internet access.
Wonderful showers. Great, helpful staff. Location. In state of remodeling.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was conveniently located. The continental breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Our room overlooked a school yard and it was fun to wake up to the sound of children laughing and playing (of course, it might be because we are grandparents so maybe everyone wouldn't enjoy the sound) Our room was on the small side.
loved the breakfast basket ! cleaned our romm way too late...5 pm.
I really liked this hotel. The location is perfect and receptionists were very kind! room and breakfast are very nice! I had great time there.
The room was very nice and clean. We liked the continental breakfast, location to Old Quebec and the train station, and friendliness of staff. Overall, it was an excellent overnight stay.
The morning breakfast was delicious, staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was decorated nicely...
The location was great! Very close to train station and many restaurants and shopping.
Lovely accommodation - just the right beginning for our lovely vacation. Excellent location for cruise - within walking distance of the port. Breakfast presentation was unique and also tasty
The service, location, ready-access to the farmer's market, the restaurant recommendations, the comfort of the bed, attractive appointments and quietness of the room
I liked the room and the continental breakfast left outside my door in a basket each morning. nice touch No. it was a nice hoel
The staff was very pleasant and acommodating, We arrived from a cruise at 10am. The hotel stored our bags whil we did some sight-seeing and had our room rady in advance of check in on our return. The breakfast breakfast was great and delivered early so we could catch the train. Excellence service.
The employees of the hotel were very friendly and gratious. They offered many suggestions for activities, restaurants, etc. The fresh Continental Breakfast delivered to our room daily was a tasty, memorable experience! The Keurig inroom coffee maker was similarly a joy. The room was in good repair, with a very comfortable bed and a variety of pillows to choose from. The television was wall mounted and could be easily swivelled as required. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower head invigorating. Finally, we found our room and the entire floor to be very quiet and private, lending a special atmosphere not found in larger hotels. There is nothing we would comment on - the above 'says it all' !
Location particularly its proximity to restaurants Rooms were a bit small and view was limited.
Character. Interesting decor Really small bathroom
Design and look of the room We can hear the voice from others rooms.

Where it was situated. The staff was very nice. The restaurant was very good. Our tv controls were not working. The staff came twice but the problem wasn't solved. The bathroom was extra small.
The location was very convenient. At the edge of the old portion of the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room is unique. The décor was fine and the bed was very comfortable but the shower/tub was a mess. Water leaked on the floor while showering and taking a shower was difficult because of the two levels of the tub. A bathroom update would help.
Location was wonderful. The town was very romantic! Small... but it was expected.
Charming boutique hotel with many thoughtful amenities in addition to what would be expected. Ask for a higher floor than first floor. Our room was blocked by the wall of the old city which meant 1. ZERO view and 2. Our room was too bright because the lights for the wall also lit up our room until well passed midnight.
Great location, beautiful building, and co-located with the Theater. No complaints, loved it.

The location and price were both awesome. There was only a small restaurant/bar and we wanted to go for a drink after wandering about the city and were turned down because we didn't have a reservation. Not very typical to require a reservation to have a drink.
Parking and the really odd sliding doors in the washrooms that open up in front of the bed
Location of the hotel, as most attractions, sites where within walking distance. The actual hotel atmosphere romantic historic.
good location within easy walking distance of all the city attractions A very small room for the money. Our companions were in a room below grade with a window that could not be opened; they felt it was quite stuffy and claustrophobic.
Good place to tour Quebec, visit to the Citadel, River Cruise Great walking in old town ,loved the Buskers very enteraining Breafast arrangments , we were given breafast tokens to use at hotel around corner at sister hotel, service was shocking first day ok second day waited 50 minutes for breafast then left without receiving breafast complained to hotel arcadia lots of sympathy however no consolation prize and no rebate off the bill we ate at our own choice of venue for the rest of stay.
Location great! Room cozy and romantic - loved the stain glass. Helpful staff. Great time :)
The hotel was located in the center of the old city of Quebec. All activities were within walking distance.
We enjoyed this hotel,as it is very central to everything. The room we had was very nice, including all comforts that go with it. We definetly would go back in a flash NOT REALLY
The location Very comfortable bed
Central location to explore Old Quebec. Rustic decor in keeping with the historical location. Car became inaccessible due to valet parking off-site, although totally understandable in view of location of hotel in the heart of the old city.
Location, very comfortable room No
Hotel Acadia is well situated near all restaurants and activities in old Quebec City. It is very quaint and reasonably priced. We were able to drive to this hotel and leave our car with the attendant for a small fee. We especially enjoyed the French cuisine in nearby restaurants.
Perfect location - very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff - fantastic free walking tour
Front desk staff were very polite and helpful in providing directions and suggestions. All front desk staff were extremely professional. No soap or shampoo was provided on our second day when the room was cleaned. DVDs were kept for several days by some guests, thus we were unable to access them.
The hotel was very charming and the location was perfect. We walked to everything. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Excellent service, fantastic atmosphere and all around an exceptional venue. I would certainly book another stay and recommend it to other.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a nice lounge area with reading library, internet access, etc. ...great feature. The are very close to many tour sites, restaurants, etc We enjoyed a provided walking tour arranged by the hotel with a good, knowledgeable tour guide...just a great all around experience for both of us. Nothing much stands out as a problem. Parking is a short distance away but not too much of an inconvenience.
nice athmosphere and good service
Delicious breakfasts delivered to our room in the morning. Nothing negative to report.
The staff at the hotel was friendly, helpful and attentive. We appreciated the small perks offered by the hotel.
We liked the idea of a "picnic breakfast". Very unique concept. The hotel is centrally located and there is no need for a car. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They let us know of various activities that were going on around the area during our stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is coffee available all the time as well as a public computer to use for internet purposes. The rooms also have wireless internet available for guests who bring their own computer. No parking on site. You have to pay for parking in addition to your room rate although the underground parking garage is not far from the hotel.
It is in the middle of the site-seeing city center, close to many good restaurants, clean, friendly and helpful English-speaking staff, and very reasonably priced. The basket hanging on the door each morning with a nice continental breakfast was a great extra.
Breakfast was great. Good amount to get you started for day. I normally have two breakfasts and this was a great first one. They provided a breakfast for me on the morning i left seven though it was prior to breakfast time. They allowed me to check in early as I was a 'walk in'. Score big points there. The room suited me fine for the 2 nights i was in QC. I wasn't expecting anything lavish, just comfortable, clean and welcoming. All of which I got. For what I was looking for it was perfect.
The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommending restaurants and making reservations. The room was really cozy and clean. The modern bathroom was very nice! The location was great: right between two major streets, St. Jean & St. Louis, and close to the citadelle, parliment building and many little shops and restaurants. The indoor parking arrangement offered was very convenient. I am a light sleeper so I woke up whenever people were talking in the corridor/stairwell.
Staff and owners were friendly and helpful. We had to walk up a narrow flight of stairs to reach the bathroom in our room.
The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful, great location, good breakfast. One room we stayed in wasn't especially nice and had a bad view outside.
Great place to stay for a night or two, on walking distance from the Old Quebec city. Tiny shower tub. Wifi is almost useless and is available only for one user (while my wife's phone was connected, I couldn't since there was a message "User is already connected"). Not for families with children, just for adults. Parking is charged $11 for 24 hours across the street
