Excellent and spacious room with af our poster bed. Very polite and helpful staff. A bit pricey.
Quiet surroundings and professional service Bed was somewhat hard, but I found this to be fairly universal in the UK!
The hotel staff are friendly and it is in a quiet part of the town, but close enough to walk to the town centre. Common to all Lerwick Hotels, the price that they charge is very high when you compare what you can get for the same price in other parts of the UK.
Accessibility to town. Quiet and good service When walking around the room the back lining of the wardrobe/combined writing table made an annoying vibrating noise (room 424)
old world charm good food great staff needs a bit of TLC Showers not great
Helpful staff. Good food on occasions. Location. Service quality variable. High effort, low on training (attention to detail). Kitchen slow to produce food.
The food at the hotel was very good. What appeared to be mud came out of the bath taps when I attempted to run a bath. There was red wine stains on the side of the bedside cabinet. The hotel room was very dated.
Position Smell of smoke on bed linen
Staff very pleasant and helpful Room was a little small. Windows not opening.
Small - 17 Rooms. Quiet with good food. Excellent Brakfast. Great views. Needs a little upgrading - seemingly being done in Jan 2011.
The staff were very friendly The bed was not very comfortable
Food was good, some of the staff were very good, view was commanding. lack of sea view when having dinner and no comfortable lounge to to seat in
had the room windows ever been cleaned?!
Efficient and friendly staff Carpet needed hoovered between the beds. Windows quite dirty.
Convenient position Helpful,friendly staff
Very friendly staff. Good food. New bathroom Room itself was in need of a refresh in terms of decor
To be perfectly honest, nothing. From start to finish it was a struggle. Fortunately all the rest of the people we met in Shetland were warm, proficient and interested in our holidaying experience and so the holiday was not ruined by staying at the Lerwick. The bad organisation, the over pricing, the mono syllabic staff, the ridiculous lack of concern about obvious detail, the functional menu, the '13 channel' choice of TV of which only 3 actually worked, etc. If I mentioned the dead flies in the main room overhead light fitting in room 229 you probably would not take my commenys seriously, but you might just want to check that.
The hote;l was very well decorated with nice furnishings but the bar seating cou;ld be more comfortable a bit to upright in the comfy chairs. In all a pleasent stay. I will book to stay here on my next visit.
The staff were great especially Bela The resturant was rather dark and it seemed an odd way to serve food by carrying it through the bar
