The hotel is quite lovely, with a nice deck overlooking the bay. The hotel is located next to a restaurant with outdoor seating, which is quite noisy, even after midnight. Parking for the hotel is a city lot; they will "validate" your parking ticket, but will charge you for it on your bill.
The location is stunning with an amazing view of the city accross the bay from the outside decking, take your breakfast tray out on to the deck on a nice day. Even number rooms look out over a very busy adjoining restaurant deck which can be pretty noisy.

Sounded like I was in an apartment complex. Stomping on floor above started at around 5am. 0 water pressure. Just a little dribble coming out of the shower head. Did not get a good nights rest at all.
The Inn was great for breakfast and late evening - I was not expecting that, and the food and the service was so good that I did not eat anywhere else. Outside the lobby is a very nice seating area for meeting friends. The room and bath were spacious. It was quieter than I expected. I was near the ice machine, either nobody else used it, or the room was insulated enough that the noise didn't come through. The pillows - usually I ask for extras, not necessary at The Lodge. The pool was lovely, there wasn't enough seating - a group of non-swimmers had taken over the cabana, as I was alone, I had to join a family group, which is okay in some countries, in California it felt like I was imposing.

The room was absolutely gorgeous as were the lodge facilities including a pleasant restaurant. The service desk was particularly helpful with information and there is access to lodge bicycles for free to allow you to ride around this idyllic environment. Wine and nibbles People in the next room had a party on Sunday night. Called the front desk 3x... 10:30, 11:00, 12:30. Finally they did something at 1245. People left, but 2 drunk girls kept on yapping until 1:30 am. Never again.
Proximity to Union Square Rooms / noise. You can hear your neighbors' every word, toilets, etc. The doors slam shut SO very hard, that they will jar you from the heaviest sleep. Lots of late night parties on the 11th floor.

Check In was great. Very nice staff. Rewarded us for returning for a third time in two years by giving us (2) complimentary drink coupons. Valet was $58/night + Tax. Took over 30 mins to get car out of lot when checking out. Mini bar in room was half empty and had empty bottles, a milkshake cup and food wrappers inside.

The hotel has lost its luster...beds were uncomfortable....toilet leaked....no water in rooms....grubby panhandler approached us while we sat at lobby coffee bar....not surprising since every time we went out the front door the doormen were either talking or texting n cell phones off to the side...I gave stayed there on and off for over 20 years...it's a shame but I will likely stay elsewhere going forward

The location is a big draw and it is a known entity in San Francisco. It met expectations. We stayed in the Tower. The room was big and the furnishings adequate, but not what I expected from a hotel of this caliber. Somewhat dated. Also, hallways are dark and below what one would expect from a hotel like this. I could've paid $100 more and stayed at the Fairmont, and it would've been worth it!

Tremendous character; felt right at home here. Location was great, just a block from the end of the Mason/Powell cable car line, a few minutes from Fishermans Wharf, a block or two from bus stops. Very quiet despite its location. Do not come here with lots of luggage - there's no place to put it. Rooms are small, beds are uncomfortable for couples. No place to put things, so you have to step over your belongings in your room.

Its a beautiful old inn. The rooms are huge with nice living rooms and big bay windows. Its the highest bed i've been in. The WIFI kind of sucked so it may not be great for biz travel if you need to be seriously online.

The decor was magnificent. Only problem was in the bathroom the shower was either too hot or too cold. The temperature is difficult to control. Also, they don't offer complimentary breakfast that you would get at a normal hotel. Plus the parking fee was $35/night which was definitely out of our budget. It was convient in location because it's only about 15 mins from fisherman's wharf and 10 mins from Chinatown. I would say my experience was alright with the hotel but I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

The staff were very helpful and the location was perfect for getting around. Ask for a quiet room at the back as street noises can be annoying at the front, on Powell. I would definitely stay here again. Panhandlers are a problem around Uniion Square, but they were not aggressive, just sad.

Was compensated for having to change my room from a City View to an interior room with a bottle of wine, free parking for two nights, and free breakfast for two. Staff was great. Noise from our room sounded like carts rolling down a hallway above us. Not all night, but late at night and early in the morning. Not undoable, just annoying for about an hour each time.

I was impressed by the styling and attention to detail at the Griffon. This very old building felt quite modern, and my room reminded me so much of my stays in Europe. The multinational staff was very friendly without being forced. The HVAC needs serious attention. While the flow and temperature were fine,there was an annoying mustiness throughout the building. No doubt an effect of being so close to the bay, but a thorough cleaning is in order.

The price point and location were great. The staff was always kind and greated us. It was nice and clean. So was the general location of the hotel. Some other "high end" hotels in the financial district for instance suffer from ridiculous pricing ,and you get to watch homeless at close range. The beds were terrible ,imagine the Grand Canyon combined with the Marianas trench. Rooms very spartan and bland.

I loved the comfortable bed, the cleanliness, and the friendliness of the staff. We had stayed at another location the night before which was so terrible, that I was online looking for a hotel and fortunately found the Marriott. They were able to accommodate us and turned our potentially awful weekend into a great success. I wish we would have found Marriott earlier. Could hear some people late at night but they settled down quickly enough.
The hotel staff was very helpful! Everyday Edward had suggestions for us. The room was very clean and was in a great location. Only a block from the dock, food, shopping, and tour buses. Street was a little noisy. But obviously, not the hotels fault.
Close to the wharf and waterfront Huge construction going on. Had to take side door, make shift reception area. Didnt really feel welcome. would have preferred to stay elsewhere had I known about it.

Great location. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had 2 doubles and the beds sagged in the middle. Very hard for two people to sleep in a bed. Kept rolling into eachother. Please update mattresses.

Location Price confirmed by booking.com was not registered with the hotel. When they tried to charge a higher rate, I had to present the confirmation email from booking.com in order to get it adjusted down to the confirmed amount.
The place was gorgeous, clean and spacious But they were so understaffed. We checked in at 430pm and did not receive our crib for the baby until close to 10pm! We had to call them once to remind and I had to remind them at the counter when I came back from the store. We also added some items for them to bring up like baby shampoo and toothpaste, etc. when housekeeping came up at 930pm, he only brought the small items. I asked about the pack and play and he said they never told him. I assumed he was going to ring our toothpaste and the bedding for the baby, no. They didn't tell him about the toothpaste either!!!!! He had to come back twice!!! It was late and waaaaay past the kids bedtime. Sooooo annoying. The ladies at the counter made it seem like they would take care of everything but they didn't. One of them even asked me about the crib check in. Very disappointed.
Price, Location, access to taxi's. I requested the earliest possible check in time, and after my flight landed on the day of check in, the Hotel text me and said that I couldn't check in until after 3pm. I didn't have a rental car so I had to drag my luggage around downtown SF. I also requested to have a room with a view and a room on the highest floor possible. I was put on the 3rd floor with a window facing the hotels interior roof top. Zero view. There were large cobwebs above the bathroom door frame, the top sheet of my bed was yellowed on the underside and there were a few small stain marks on the sheets that were either wine, juice, or blood. King size bed was not comfortable at all. I HATE the hotels TV/entertainment system. The remote has a rollerball to control a mouse on the screen that is so small you can't read it unless you are sitting in the chair at the desk. Least user-friendly system I've ever used in a hotel. It's like you are watching tv through the computer's "tv application". Really strange.
Lots of food choices around the area including Starbucks. Looks clean. Nobody asked when we came in if we need help in our luggage. The bed creeks, make some noises when you move while sleeping. Parking is not included. You need to pay 50 bucks per night.
It's just a block away from the main street. In close proximity to bars and restaurants . The staff at the front desk was very helpful. We didn't go to the bar at the hotel but it looked inviting and we would have if we had more time. The hotel is a little older but nicely maintained.
Location was excellent, and the room was clean and well maintained. We stayed in the "Wharf Building" which seemed older and less maintained. There was no front desk staff in the building and it was difficult to get back over to the other building if we needed anything. Also, the elevator was under repair the full duration of our stay, which made the one working elevator very slow.

Proximity to the wharf 1. Found a man's underwear in the drawer. 2. I was never informed I would be charged an additional$100 on the day of our check-in. I saw the charge on my online visa statement and told only after my inquiry. Since there were no damages to the room, I should expect a refund in a few days. My experience has been that possilbe extra charges are done after check-out and NOT on the day of check-in. 3. A few ants coming out of the heater. 4. A $51 charge for underground parking because of the high rate of car break-ins so I parked there, only to find they also have overnight parking in the gated registration lot but told the price is the same???? Likely or another way to charge more???? No transparency.

Personalet var ekstremt hjaelpsomme og hotellet havde en god beliggenhed.
Hotellets elevator var gået i stykker og vi skulle selv slæbe 1 kuffert op på 3 sal. Den var i stykker under hele opholdet.Fik kun 40$ i rabat.

I liked that we were able to find a great place on such short notice. The Manager on Duty, I think her name was Susan, was very helpful after one of the reservation agent accidentally mixed up our checkout time- and another Agent Brandon wasn't very kind to us. I ate most of my meals at the hotel, breakfast lunch and dinner- and I had three different bartender/servers during my stay that were all so very pleasant. Some even gave me directions to buy a hoodie at a nearby store because I didn't realize it would be colder there this time of year still. And the chef made me an awesome salad when I wanted to exchange tuna for chicken on the salad that comes with Lemon Dressing- it was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this substitution as the combination of greens and dressing go amazing with Tuna! It will cost you 2 dollars more as Tuna is more expensive (rightfully so) but it I ate the entire thing. I couldn't stop myself. Other than the mixup on our checkout time- I was happy with my stay overall.
