Faena Hotel Miami Beach

Beautiful Hotel and property. The common areas are lovely and well appointed. I had a large suite and it was nice--particularly the bathoom. The room showed signs of wear with stains on one chair and also on a bench. The lighting was irritating and very dim---especially in the bathroom. One of our female friends had to go buy a makeup mirror at Walgreens to have in her bathroom so she could see her face to apply makeup. For over $600-700/night I just expect more---even in MIami which is known for overpriced hotels and horrid service. The service in the restaurants, at the pool and on the beach was terrible. Truly the slowest and most inefficient service I have experienced. Miami is not known for service with all the transient workers, but this place was truly a case of "Who's on First?". It doesn't that they auto grat at 18% which is hardly worht it. At $24 for a poorly made drink I expect someone to remember that I ordered and bring it promptly. We waited 42 minutes for one round of drinks on the beach--one round that cost over $125. We had a group dinner at the restaurant once night and it was over $250/pp and again the service was awful--with a waiter with an attitude that would simply disappear. I will never stay here again based on the service alone. The hotel is flash, but the service can't back it up. Don't waste your money and spring for the St. Regis in Bal Harbour or even the Edition which has better service. Even the Soho House is a better bet. This place is having a moment, but if they don't figure out the service then their moment will be fleeting.

Terrible service in all restaurants and bars on the property--slow, forgetful. Stains in room. Dark rooms.
