Waiting on line 1.5 hours to check in. Dirty carpets, leaking faucets, small rooms, no desk or table to work on. Generally dirty, grungy, and worn out. Dank smell. Would never stay here again or recommend to anyone else.
Mold, Mold Mold
Room was disgusting, moldy, and falling apart. Took over an hour to check in. Just horrible.

The line after midnight for check in was 40’people deep with 2 people at the counter. The line didn’t move 1 person for 25 minutes. I left. I want a refund and if I don’t get credit I’m disputing the charge. I tried to reach the hotel and Kayak and couldn’t get ahold of either. Had I stayed there I wouldn’t t have checked until 2 a.m. at the rate they were going, people on line were fighting, and it was a mess.
An old hotel, at first it looks like a classic, but once you enter the elevators and start walking the hallways you notice it's old, not vintage, then you get to your room to realize, at least on the 16th floor, the whole hotel is long due for remodeling. The basics are covered: clean towels and sheets and bathroom basics work fine, but the bathroom tile, furniture, closets, wall paint, drapes, carpet, etc. are in need of being replaced as soon as possible. Free wi-fi works ok. I don't get it, they are in the Mid-Town area, across the street from The Madison Square Garden, so location could hardly be better, but it seems they are not willing to invest on their hotel, it triggers a perception of abandonment, carelessness.
Beds ok to sleep upon water pressure in the tub shower excellent Staff friendly and informative understanding. Also very efficient with both your and their time
Bathroom appearance dated yet surprisingly useful and well thought out . Room could use more ambient or direct lighting for those spending more time in them other then preparing to sleep or enjoy the city .
Everything. There was mold in the room and bathroom was a mess.
I thought I was give it benefit of the doubt. No. This place is disgusting. Do not book here. The location is great but that’s all. Mold on the walls, musty nasty smell throughout the entire place. We didn’t even end up staying here, we left after our concert. So gross. Such a waste of money. Do. Not. Book. This.

One night was one too many
The only thing going for this hotel is the location. It’s adross the street from Penn Station and the ideal mid-town spot to reach just about anywhere you’d want to go.
It took 45 minutes to check in at 11:00pm. I paid extra for a Penn5000 room. It was a dingy, dirty room; sheets were threadbare with a thin blanket. I called for another, 1 1/2 hours later I didn’t receive it. Staff is apathetic and uninterested in good service. Customer service is not a priority here even after I complained. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else!
Worst hotel ever.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Very old, no maintenance, dirty, just overal horrible. Moldy and musty smell in the room. I heard of people seeing rates in there rooms. One of our guests got a rash of ticks or something we are still trying to determine what it is.
It took us over an hour and a half to check in. The staff could care less. Only two people at the front desk. Don’t even think about staying here. This hotel shouldn’t even be given one star. It should be not rated, it is so bad. I had to pay extra for a facility fee that was never mentioned. If I didn’t pay, they would not give me my room.
Needs major improvements. Facilities fee scam.
The humbling kindness of overworked, understaffed folks behind the desk who had to deal with countless angry customers who were unhappy with the extreme wait time in line or had come down to complain about the condition of their room.
70 minute wait in line to check in, did not arrive to room until 1:00am after a very long day of travel. Room smelled moldy and musty, air quality was a major concern and window could not be opened. Aesthetics looked run down and degraded in a way that regardless of how well it may have been cleaned it looked dirty and questionable. Upon checkout the next morning, after only having spent 5.5 hours sleeping in the hotel the front desk tried to charge us an additional $34 "facilities" fee that had not been mentioned anywhere to the best of our recollection. We pushed back and said that we had not had time to use any "facilities" because of the extremely long wait in line the night before and the person at the front desk kindly dropped it.
