Great location and views

Great location with the bund and metropolitan views. The hotel has opened for some years, facilities are well-maintained. It’s Shangri-la smell and style. Just the hotel is huge and iconic, better get up early for breakfast to avoid possible crowd.

I booked a room with the Horizon club included without knowing what it was. All I can say is it was worth every penny. The service is exceptional at the hotel especially the lady working in the Horizon club. The view at floor 29 was great and the buffet which is included on this floor if you have access to it was delicious. Definitely coming back to this hotel next time.

I booked the king executive suite with a view and my what a view it was. And at an amazing price, about a third of the cost of the same style room in the Hong Kong Shangri-La. The room was stunning and the complimentary fruit bowl was a lovely touch. Staff were attentive and helpful. The whole hotel is gorgeous and it’s in a great location, just a five minute walk from Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower

The location is perfect, right in the center of Lujiazui, a few meters from all the scenics spots, the shopping malls and the metro station. The breakfast was amazing.

We had booked 3 rooms in the new building, and during the check-in one of our colleagues had to go to the old building since there were no rooms left for them. The room they gave him had a better view than the original one, however, being in the old building, the room was not as good as the one they gave us.

I arrived and checked in late at 1am. The reception was really nice and upgraded me to a suite. Only disappointment was I didn't have enough time to enjoy the large room. This hotel had always been one of my favorite in Pudong Shanghai after two decades.

The facilities are getting a bit old and rundown after all these years. For example, no power socket near the bed for charging. Shower area and bath tub are smaller than newer hotels. Carpets are getting a bit dirty.

Good location, 7 minutes walk to Metro. Good shopping mall nearby. Wonderful city view when at high floor. Wonderful swimming pool at 5th floor. Good dinner and warm stuff.

My room is not worth the money that I paid. I ordered a Bond view room, however, it is not kept until I came. I have to pay much more to change a room. This is a pulse deal.

good value.. excellent location. excellent breakfast.. location near the river . near 2 shopping malls..near starbucks and some.cafes .i suggest for any visitor to shangahai to book at least 2 days near nanjing road French style buldings and some.gardens best hotel in.that side is meridian hotel and then at least 2 days in.shangri.la.hotel in modern china style side..the hotel price in.shangahai is good compared to other countries

EVERYTHING. The lady at the front desk of Pujiang Lou gave us an upgrade from a bund view room to a SUITE after I asked if we can see the Pearl Tower from our room. The suite was PERFECT with awesome views of both the bund and the tower!! We absolutely loved everything at Shanghai-La and we were very impressed with their fantastic customer service!!

The breakfast was great, great variety! Location was very convenient for what I need. I booked the river view room, and the view was spectacular. The staff was easy to work with though with slightly different attitude.

The drain in the shower was clogged and the shower water was cold the first night.

Stayed on the 18th floor, room 1857. And for some unknown reason there was a lot of motor noice ( maybe from airco or outside?). As the stay was only for 2 days, didn't make the hassle to change. But with next check-in will defenitely ask for a different room.

Great location very nice hotel

The hotel has several restaurant with varied food. The treatment of the person is very friendly, they are always aware of the requirements of the guest. The location is excellent, just a couple of blocks from the areas of interest in Pudong.

Very orderly and clean room. Impressive luxurious design typical of Shangri-la hotels. Staff was helpful and highly reliable in assisting my family and I to visit Disneyland.

This place is wonderful. Beautiful garden and view, great rooms, delicious breakfast! Very close (by walk) to Canton Fair place. You can make your Canton Fair ID in the hotel, which is very convinient.

The stuff doesn't know english well but this is common problem in China.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff were all very attentive and friendly and the beds very comfortable.

The overall experience was great. The only failing was the cost of room service. We were charged almost 400 rmb for 2 club sandwiches

The room I stayed had such a beautiful view at night and every morning when I went to the gym I felt so happy to see the fantastic view of the riverside and the buildings.

For the price very luxurious. We have stayed in Sydney which is beautiful but much more expensive.

It was very hard to communicate with the staff as they didn't really understand english.

Excellent location, in Lujiazui, Pudong area, with plenty of dining and his end shopping opportunities nearby. The horizon Club lounge is a good option for spare time, with its nice lounge with a beautiful view on the river and the bund.

I like its spacious room and the Christmas and New Year ornaments and interior design of the hotel. Especially the location is nearby Pearl Tower and the view from the room is facing the Bund! So wonderful!

There is no bidet in the toilet.

Amazing view, easy to get around, smooth check in and check out. We got amazing spacious room! The bonus is bathtub with the view on Financial tours, can have a bath and sip wine or champagne :) huge variety for breakfast, make sure you have it included into your stay.

Perfect location and cosy room

Good room size, stunning view at the Pearl TV tower, very comfortable bed with real king size, very large selection of food at the breakfast buffet and quick elevators. Very friendly doorman :)

At peak times it would be very helpful if the Concierge could help out the front desk stuff with simple queries. During my stays I recognized only 2 front desk counters were open and it took long time to wait in the line even.

Amazing Spa services, creams, tea time, facilities do not lack and amazing views to the River bund side. I am impressed with my stay specialy because of accesibility to any restaurant inside of the property followed by shops and an interesting chinese spa, looking forwards to go back soon!

Great location in the Pudong district directly at the river front. Fast elevators, nice room views, big room windows, comfortable bed. Breakfast selection was amazing and I really enjoyed it.

During check-in on a busy Friday only 2 counters had been open which took me a long time in the line waiting. The CIIE (import expo) arrangements in and around this hotel had been really bothering and if I knew such disturbances before I would have chosen another hotel. In front of the hotel entrance there had been security checks same as at airports - the security staff was very rude, impolite and unprofessional. No English information about their security requirements was given and the hotel should have really provided English speaking staff to manage the process more smoothly. It was a harassment to get scanned every time you enter the hotel, metro stations or other facilities. I got informed by the hotel that on Sunday, 4th Nov. the nearby Metro station will be closed for approx. half a day. At the end it turned out, that not only a metro station got closed but a huge area all around the hotel got entirely blocked (traffic, pedestrians) by the police. I had to wait for hours to return back to my hotel! It was such an ridiculous and bad experience for me without any prior information. If someone had a flight or other appointments they must have missed it.
