Monte Do Alamo

The location is ideal for people enjoying a peaceful and green setting, with lots of trees and bushes on the property. The view of the surroundings from the property was very charming. Staff was friendly. The room we booked was facing Tavira, which is marketed as one with a sea view. The room we had was comfortable and not too small. The bathroom to our room had a tasteful and practical design. I enjoyed the company of the two dogs living on the property, one of them being very cuddely and sweet. The breakfast consisted of fresh products, offered on a lovely terrace. They have a great common living room, which is cosy and inviting.

The matrasses we had were very hard. We understand that there is a tendency in Portugal to use hard matresses, but the ones we had in our room left us with back pains and were the less comfortable we had during our two weeks stay in southern Portugal. In our view, the breakfast offered is targeted at travellers eating a sweet and small one. The concept here is no breakfast buffet, but rather an individual serving. There is a basic serving, everthing else needs to be asked for seperatly. There is generally no meat in any form being offered, apparently because the wasps would be too attracted by it. But aren't wasps also very much attracted by marmelade and sweet stuff, which were available for breakfast? Quantatively spreaking, the breakfast was in our view not sufficient. The quantity of bread offered is kept low. One can ask for more, but the extra serving is kept at an absolute minimum. The pieces of cheese offered is kept at one or at most two pieces per person. Asking for more is also allowed, but the result is also very thin. Altogether, we simply had the feeling that we should be happy to get good ingredients, but we should also be happy with the basic serving. The breakfast experience at Monte do Alamo we had was peculiar, because we booked different accomodations in the Algarve including breakfast, and none were by far as restrictive on the breakfast as Monte de Almo, although this was the most expensive accomodation we booked. Our room should have a "sea view". Well, the room we had was indeed facing the sea, but in the end, we had to look hard for a glimpse of the sea between the leafes of the many bushes and trees in front of our terrace. Other spots on the generous property offered a splendid sea view. I also unfortunatly need to stress the pool, which was in our eyes not very clean at the time we were there. Rosario sent us instructions on how to get the property. Those were in Portugese though, no feedback to my request.

friendly staff, nice breakfast, lovely view, peace and quiet. Great place for couples, families and everyone who desires nice break from a hectic life. I spent there very romantic time with my girlfriend. It was excellent choice :)
