The Majestic Hotel

Champagne buffet breakfast, the free transfers from port and airport, the hotel swimming pool and proximity to the town of Fira (walking distance).

The rooms are not well maintained for a 5* hotel and half of the rooms with 'volcano views' are actually facing the main road. Those rooms facing the other side may be better but they have a narrow staircase, without a bannister, leading up to the gallery/bedroom which was not practical. The biggest disappontment was the number of iunexplainable flys in the rooms. We changed rooms 3 times but just could not get away from them - not something one would expect to find in this level of hotel.

Almost everyone on the Hotel staff is very friendly and kind. The breakfast is good and the pool is excelent. The Hotel location, although not on the beach, is very central, and that allows one to reach every beach of the island in about 20 minutes by car.

The breakfast is good, but could be improved considering the price one pays to stay there.

The food was excellent, it was on par with a five star hotel. The swimming pool is beautiful, very big and clean.

I would not rate this hotel five star. The rooms are basic and the staff aren't very helpful (even though they do try to be but don't know how to be). Seems to me that it is considered to be a hotel only for tourists so they tend to get away with a lot.
