Ulemper: It would be much better if they didn’t lose my 2 luggage bags with no proper compensation to offer - 50$ is what you get to recover your belongings meanwhile my items lost are worth at least 10,000$.. contacting my lawyer in the morning.
Also the plane has nowhere to plug your phone, can’t charge your phone for over 7 hours, no in flight WiFi, and no tv screen to watch movies.. I couldn’t help but wonder was this a 1985 plane?
Do not recommend, stay away.
Ulemper: This is my first time traveling these airlines and I promise you it’s the last.. the plane had no option to plug my cell phone, no WiFi, not even a screen to watch movies (7 something hours flight).. I was served a loaf of bread cut in half with some spices inside as a meal! But the most horrible part is the fact once landed I found out the lost both of my luggage bags, and All they told me was I’m entitled of an allowance of $50.. tried hard not to laugh as my 50 kg of belongings worth thousands of dollars.. beyond disappointed, aggravated and shocked. Contacting my lawyer in the morning. Do not fly with them!

Ulemper: Please the flight time for connecting in Lome needs to be improved!!!! It's highly stressful for a passenger to be in another country where they don't speak the local language and have to be shuffling to connect to a flight within less than 10 minutes. Any Ethiopian airline connecting flight needs to have at least a 45 minutes gap.

Fordele: Convenient flight....surprisingly very nice airports ( Dakar, Abidjan and Lomé). The schedule was very tight to make my connection in Lome since the flight made a stop at Abidjan and then on to Lomé.
Ulemper: Based on the price and convenience I really have no complaints. The only area I would improve is the inflight restroom. The door was broken and didn’t close and the inside was quite filthy and the toilet didn’t flush.

Ulemper: Flight was delayed by over 1.5 hours & communication about this was poor. It was particularly nerve wracking because many passengers were trying to make a connecting flight w/ a short layover window. To their credit, the crew informed the connecting flight & they waited for us. But it was stressful.

Ulemper: I did not like the flight both ways! Going to Lagos from Lome, the aircraft had no air conditioning, we were stuffed and backed close to two hours. On boarding took close to 45 minutes. Aircraft looked like a jalopy
Going to Lome, the crew was rude, they should have acknowledged the passengers been baked in the sun before boarding. Tragic!!!

No suitcase and no support from the team on the ground

Ulemper: It all started at the check point at Newark airport. While checking into my flight I noticed that the transit Time in Lomé was only 40 mns, so made it a point to ensure if my luggage would make it with me to Dakar.
So upon arrival in Lome and as I suspected, I was rushed through the gate as the last passenger. Hence I asked the boarding agent again if my suitcases are on the plane: yes ma’am just get on the plane.
Now I land in Dakar with no suitcases and no way of knowing when they will arrive. The staff were rude and unapologetic, plus they ask me to come back to the airport to collect my luggage when it gets here.UNBELIEAVABLE

Ulemper: No, food was given, the water was HOT, and there was a roach on the plane. I fly quite often maybe 3 or 4 times a year and I have never seen a roach on any flight! The seat was incredibly dirty and beat up. To pay so much money for such a disregard for customers career and safety was quite troubling to me.
This flight too had no air conditioning going at all. From boarding to the 45-minute flight my mother and I, as well as the other passengers including babies were sweating. Customers should not have to deal with such things people can get severely ill. This is beyond unsafe for customers and the staff. I am not sure who is responsible for this situation but I am not okay with it.

Ulemper: Appearance of the plan seems old and could use some renovation.
Surly crew and disorganized boarding
Fordele: The short connecting flight.
Ulemper: Virtually everything about the boarding process was disorganized. We were met by Asky staff shouting out names to hand over our boarding passes for the connecting flight. The flight was well over two hours late (for a 40-minute flight, this was frustrating and completely unexplained by the crew). We had to be transported by bus to the plane and that was another hour-long process with very little apology from the overworked and overwhelmed staff. Ethiopian Airlines and ASKY appears to be a bargain in terms of price but I would be highly unlikely to use them in the future after such a disappointing introduction. I’m sure they lost several dozen repeat clients because of the disorganized nature of their transfers from Newark and the nonchalant attitude of their staff. I would not recommend this, especially for elderly and disabled passengers or families with young children.
Ulemper: I just learned from the airport that carry on bags are 7 kgs only. Since I had my computer in it I was forced to hold it in my hands.
Flight from Lome to Lagos

Ulemper: The fact that u have to walk to a different part of the airport to pay for excess luggage. Getting the the pos system didn't work. Smh. Had to look for my bank and make a tf to a sky. Shame and waste of time.

Fordele: The flight itself was quick and pretty stress-free. It wasn't a full flight so there was space for everyone to comfortably spread out. An okay experience overall. It the human interaction with the staff and customer experience could use some improvement.
Ulemper: Checking in Took 45 minutes for whatever reason. The ground staff were really slow with the process. They also made me check in my small carry-on bag due to their frankly inconsistent carry-on regulation (I saw many other passengers on board with 2 or 3 sizeable pieces and the flight wasn't even close to being nearly full).
Fordele: Boarding and crew was very efficient !
Ulemper: There was not enough legroom and also elbow room. Seating in the middle seat was a terrible experience.

Fordele: Excellent care from ticketing to the cabin crew. The fact that our connecting flight in Lome taking us to Lagos waiting for our arrival made it even better.
Not A Lon Haul Plane
Ulemper: This is the same plane I took business class from Sao Tome to Lisbon. Overnight. 7 hours. No entertainment. No lay flat or fully reclining seats. OK for a 2 hour flight. Unacceptable otherwise.

Ulemper: My flight to Lagos was overbooked, I was at the airport in plenty of time for check in. When I arrived, I was told my reservation was sold.
I had to go to a roach motel, paid to stay there, and left the next day on long flight with 2 stops and a lay over, instead of a direct flight to Lagos.
I was never reimbursed for my wasted time or hotel fees I had to pay. They all spoke French, I do not.
There was no entertainment at all on board

Ulemper: The lady at the check-in counter did accept to check my luggage to my final destination. As result I have to check-in twice (Abidjan and Lome). Waiting for the luggage and re-check in twice was a waste of time.

Flight changed, problem with carry-on luggage
Fordele: My flight was shifted an entire day late, interrupting my previous plans. I also had carry-on luggage that was almost checked through to my final destination, however on a previous flight of their's they had lost my checked baggage. I would not recommend this airline to anyone who needs flights to be on time or luggage to arrive

Fordele: The service, food, and logistics were all mediocre. The flight there wasn't bad, but there was also nothing I would recommend.
Ulemper: I didn't like that the crew seemed confused the entire time and had no structure as to how to coordinate the flight.
Ulemper: Bathroom has no lock, seats are broken, attendants don't care where you sit causing confusion. They also change luggage amount last minute. Avoid company. Flisghts should be cheaper

Flight Cancelled Passengers Herded to Obscure Hote
Ulemper: Upon arrival to the airport, we were informed that the flight was cancelled. Without any information, we were put on a bus to go to a hotel that was chosen for us. I was only given the name of the hotel because I made the woman tell me. No choice was given in lodging. Once there, we were fed, again, no choice given. We were just told that lunch was ready. Facilities in the room did not work and just showering caused the bathroom to flood. Not to mention the low security outside where the gate was left open all night. In order to get my new flight itinerary, I had to go back to the airport to ask at the ASKY office. This situation was handled poorly because of their policies to "send people" to the arranged hotel.
Flights are cancelled without notice
Ulemper: They cancelled the flight, and would not put me on the Camair flight to Libreville. I had to pay a lot of money to get on that flight. Asky said they would put me on a flight to Lagos the next day, and then get me from Lagos to Libreville. Very unhelpful staff, and no information about why they cancelled the flight. Don't fly ASKY!

Ulemper: When the South Africa airline flight arrived late and I missed my ASky flight on Monday morning I was told that the next flight would not be till Wednesday. I had to stay the night in Dakar, get a hotel and pay for a new flight on Mauritania airline and pay them another excess baggage few which all cost me $600. I've sent South Africa an email on this whole matter including all receipts but got zero response. WORST FLYING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!

Highly restricted carry on weight limits
Fordele: Asky lost our luggage on a previous flight, and in West Africa that is a disaster. They tried to get us to check our carry-on bags again, but since we were connecting to a return flight to the States that was a recipe for another disaster.
