Ulemper: Excessive time to get ticketing in the beginning. Poor passenger handling and lack of caring by checking in and airport agents
Ulemper: . I was shocked to see social distancing was not implemented with no seats apart and I was in the middle of four seats. If the journey is as important as the destination, then it already failed the minute I was seated in a very intimate setting alongside strangers and seeing the economy class fully booked. The airline defended this by saying they have special economy seats but I complained that this is not equitable since the seats are limited and not everyone could afford an upgrade. Even if they could, the passengers would still be seated side by side and the total number of passengers aboard a tight and enclosed space or load factor is still very high. The airline’s policy was so inconsistent with the very rigid rules of the different government agencies upon disembarkation.
Ulemper: Other than the better seating, business class on PAL is like economy on most airlines. Lousy food, half a glass of generic wine. Screen is too far from seated position, the remote didn’t work, and it was a long stretch to use the touch screen. Seats were not that comfortable for sleeping.
Ulemper: Plane was Not full, enough social distancing.
Fordele: The crew were attentive & accommodating.
Ulemper: Food was not that good at all.
Fordele: the seat are comfortable. Flight stewards are responding to anything I need but on the downside, lavatories are clogged most of the time ( maybe because too many are using it.) Another issue is the travelers card, the letters are printed too small that seniors like me can't read it inspite of the fact that I'm wearing my eyeglasses.
Fordele: Yes, the crew were amazing.. since I was booked
In the economy class, it was not that comfortable but good enough.
Ulemper: There are not much choice for food aside from the usual that come from the airline catering service.

Ulemper: Manila airport business lounge full, not accessible, croweded with too many airlines; Processing at the Manila airport too complicated for passengers in transit (completely different when we traveled from Vancouver through Manila, why is that? Boarding gate (Manila) terrible, crowded, no available seats, “business” section small and with so dirty sests that it was not possible to use them!
Fordele: The plane was good, comfortable, service excellent! Business lounge at Singapore airport is excellent!

Ulemper: The bathrooms needed to be restocked with towels and toilet paper.

Ulemper: The food could be better ! My partner and brother in-law are filipino could not even eat let alone myself !! The seats are very close together even though there is lots of room under the seat in front witch was very much like myself being over 6 foot. I don’t know if the hardness of the seats are a safety thing but my ass was sore after the first half hour and after 8 hours wow not good!!!

Fordele: The crew did above and beyond what was expected. They were nice, friendly, and professional.
Ulemper: The line up at the check in counter was a bit of a mess and it took longer to check in. I was extremely upset at not being able to check in online and select a seat, I was therefore assigned a seat towards the end of the plane which I am not very happy with but it was rectified during boarding.
Fordele: The "Forward seats" are advertised on airline documents for $20 on regional flight. MNL-SGN is definitely a regional flight, but they charged me $50 for the one seat choice. The comfort is definitely much better. I had guessed it was worth the 20 dollars, but 50 seems a rip-off.
Ulemper: The food (fish and rice) was tasteless.
Ulemper: First time traveling via Philippines airlines, was hoping for a good direct flight, was just very disappointed. Not much variety in food, no really onboard vegetarian or seafood options. Comfort wise economy seat are bit tighter compared to other international airlines. Crew was very helpful, did their best to accommodate to what they had to work with, their crew truly saves their short-givings.
Ulemper: The websites should be improved that allow users to login.
Fordele: Excellent experience and service. Appreciated the transfer process and shuttle service in Manila fromTerminal 2 to Terminal 1 to make the connection to NYC. Very smooth and efficient with a a 2 hour window to do all the security checks etc. Very good communications.
Ulemper: All very good except the VGML could be better and more creative.
Fordele: Leaving the gate early, and take off right on time, landing early and at the gate right on time: amazing!
Ulemper: The crew is enforcing strictly the rule that the "forward seats" need to pay extra, even though entire rows are empty... No exception for any reason.
Fordele: Crew was not very friendly.
Ulemper: Checking in for flight was not very good. Counter help was not well informed/trained.
Fordele: Food was great, comfortable flight, no issues whatsoever. One of the best airlines I’ve flown with
Fordele: On the Honolulu to Manila flight the crew were attentive and pleasant. I was comfortable and had TV to pass some of the hours on board. On the Manila to Singapore, there was no TV and the crew were less pleasant.
Ulemper: The young crew on the Manila to Singapore flight could have seen the journey as more of an opportunity to actually do their job rather than a chance to sit at the back chatting. When I approached one for a hot water bottle as it was freezing, she screwed up her face at my request and turned and spoke to her colleague in a language I couldn't understand making me feel uncomfortable. One of the worst things though was the food. Throughout the whole flight from Oahu to Singapore, there were no vegetarian options (even the mid flight sandwich had ham and cheese). Further, you were served a hot meal almost within an hour of being in the air, then had to wait about six hours for the snack and then another hot meal was served within three hours of that at a very rushed pace making the experience very unenjoyable. This happened on the way to oahu also so it is something that they practice regularly. Terminal 2 at Manila is also terrible if you have a long layover!
Ulemper: I wish there's a better airport system and updated screening tools/machine in MIA so luggages doesn't have to be scanned and open 4 times before you get to the gate.
Fordele: Passengers and crew were all nice and accommodating. Food was great!
Ulemper: Temperature was very cold 21C but perhaps that is to inhibit spread of germs.
Ulemper: Please balance your serving with what you pair with the rice, there’s a lot of rice little vayand

Fordele: A great airline! From flight attendants, to meals , on time departure and even an early arrival , very happy with my first experience with them

Fordele: The crew, the meals, the on time departure and arrival . Philippine Airlines got my attention . I was in BC, and their lounge was awesome and so was the service on board.
And the flight attendants as well! A five star airline, thank you !!!

Ulemper: enforcing rules and regulations too passengers. as a person of purchasing additional leg room, this should be enforced to pay for additional leg room vs just giving that additional space for free. This is the second time I experienced and this has not changed since last year.
Ulemper: The transfer in Manila was like nowhere else. After the security check we were sent outside where buses were driving to claim our checked-in luggage to take it for another check just to drop it one minute later. Anywhere in the world if you board a flight with a stop-over you see your luggage at the final destination, not the case if you fly trough Manila.
Fordele: Crew was very good. The food was better than most.
Ulemper: The toilets should be checked for cleanliness more often, and supplies replenished.

Ulemper: food was so bad. bread/roll was served long after the food is served, due to zoning assignments. NO FREAKING INFLIGHT ENtERtainment the whole FReaking 14hrs of flight time. very poor, very bad for expensive airfare tickets

Ulemper: Philippines Airlines has two things it could improve on: one is the food, which is probably the worst of any airline I’ve flown on in recent years. But the thing that is most problematic is that it is not a member of any alliance. I live in Manila, but only for a year or two, so would be nice for those miles to be transferable. If PAL didn’t have the only direct flight from Manila to LAX, I would avoid the airline altogether for long international flights.
