Ulemper: I didn't get any info that I needed to register my info with Greek government 24 hours beforehand due to COVID. Very poor customer-service.

Ulemper: If one has not checked in in advance on internet, one is to pay 5 euro pro person at the check-in desk. This information should be communicated to the passangers in advance!
Fordele: The crew was very helpful
Ulemper: It took forever to get our boarding pass because the system at the airport had problems for us .We were about to be late for the plane and not even go on the trip
Got to our destination on time; process could have been more pleasant
Fordele: good price; flight and baggage arrived on time
Ulemper: Really long line at the airport even though virtually everybody does check-in ahead on internet. Found it unpleasant and stressful to estimate luggage weight and pay for checked baggage online due to heavy $ penalty if you wait until you get to the airport. I believe this is done so that they don't have to staff the airport check-in desks more adequately. Seats were not comfortable (not much cushion) and leg room was tight.

Ulemper: The flight was 1,5h late so we had to call off our planned dinner trip to Freising between connection flights

Ulemper: Horrible comfort on the plain, too less space for legs, very uncomfortable chairs! Too hot inside, nothing to do in the 4 hrs flight time, no entertainment.
LOST BAG ON SKI TRIP
Fordele: Not much.
Ulemper: Took my carry on onto the plane, it barely didn't fit in the overhead, I was told it would go under the plane. The bag was never put on the plane, and therefore I had to ski the next day in my jeans and utilize only what I had on my person in a new place I'd never been. Of all the times to lose a bag, you'd hope it wouldn't be on a 3 day trip deep in the mountains of Austria when you're by yourself. How could you take a small bag from inside the plane and then not put it underneath the plane minutes before take off? Horrendous.
Nice crew but terrible logistics
Fordele: The crew and food were very nice. Unfortunately, getting from Point A to Point B was a struggle.
Ulemper: They didn't leave enough time for connecting flights (we touched down at the same time my connecting flight was boarding), and screwed over a lot of passengers by last-minute not sending their luggage to the connecting flight. I lost my luggage and still haven't found it.
Lost the luggage
Fordele: Delayed for two hours, that's ok but not being able to locate the luggage is a great discomfort and stress
Flight delayed more than 12 hours
Fordele: Crew management of the situation, reserved a hotel with a breakfast for the whole passengers. that was nice but still .!!!
Ulemper: Flight delayed for more than 1 hour first, then we boarded late, then they asked us to get down the flight (because of weather problems) we ended up in a hotel sleeping unitl the day after (12 hours overall)
Fordele: My husband and I are both tall people, over 6 feet and this was the smallest most uncomfortable seats we have ever been in. We were put in the very last seat and couldn't even fit our legs in. Then when the person in front of me tried to put his seat back I was in so much pain I had to ask him to move it back up. They also wanted to charge us $120 for a bag when our flight was only $100, which was ridiculous! Thankfully the staff was nice enough to waive that fee for us.
Fordele: When we arrived at the airport and went to the counter of Air Berlin turned out that the card is returned not including luggage. The flight from Tel Aviv to Berlin included a suitcase but not from Berlin to Tel Aviv. We paid 120 euros for luggage, although we have not seen an invitation not have paid everything in advance. No one tried to help us, and to explain and attitude was cold and arrogant.
Ulemper: Caused damaged to my luggage and I reported and sent all the documents needed. It's been two weeks and the company still hasn't contacted me.
Ulemper: No service at all.
Fordele: Service is great def gonna use them more !!!!

Ulemper: No food, no entertainment
A good airline with a confused Identity
Fordele: AirBerlin has always been a lovely little airline. Wonderful crew and pilots all around. A bit more expensive than the low cost carriers, but better flight times and a normal flight experience (or what used to be normal) was their forte.
Ulemper: What I don't like. They don't know what they want to be. Not the crew or pilots, the executives. In September AirBerlin changed their policy of serving 'free' food on flights. I understand that they are competing with the Low Cost carriers (especially as O'Leary has set his sights squarely on AirBerlin), but charging flights that cost more than double of a low cost, yet offering the same experience of a low cost is a sure way to lose customers. Case and point: Flight to Vienna, we were offered complimentary sandwiches and drinks. Return flight, they charged for drinks and food. Which is it, AirBerlin? Either do complimentary food and drinks and keep your customers or keep you fares the same, charge for drinks and food and lose customers. But doing both with no rhyme or reason shows that those in charge do not understand their business.
Like taking a bus to hell with thieve on board
Fordele: Never did I feel that I was being mobbed at the check in this way before . The guy pretended to help but instead only was doing things harder for every body. He was asking to repack for unclear reason. Forcing people to open their suitcases on the counter to move one item from one bag to the other. Charging for a back pack the size of a personal handbag. Then on board water is 3 euro for a small bottle. Only toilet paper was for free . never again !!!
Ulemper: The landing. The pilot left a dent on the runway.
I would definitely fly AirBerlin again!
Fordele: The amount of care from the crew was enough to give 5 stars, but there was also good choices of movies to watch, and no troubles while boarding.
Ulemper: The seats can be a little small for someone who is 6'4, but that is my burden to bear. It was a little hard to check in online prior to getting to the airport.
Fordele: Plane was clean and comfortable. Service was pleasant. Waiting area was also comfortable and signage was good. Check in was simple.
Ulemper: Flight was delayed and boarding process was disorganized. Luggage took awhile upon landing.
Fordele: Flight boarded, departed and arrived on time. Flight attendants friendly and professional. Plane clean.
Ulemper: No beverage service. Having to leave terminal A and go through security again at C.

Read the fine print
Fordele: AB is a new efficient carrier that delivers what it promises
Ulemper: The rules on luggage are very hard to find and punitive if you violate them. We had to pay 60 Euro to check a bag. However if we had chosen to do so when we booked it would have been 30. You can't do this when you check in online when you likely know what you will be taking. Service desk is sympathetic because many make mistake.
Fordele: Good short flight, with free drinks/snack
Ulemper: It was all fine
Ulemper: Air Berlin lost my luggage. Plus they don't pick up my call to their customer service. They are extremely poor in this regard.
Watch out for checked bag fees
Fordele: Quick flight with good service
Ulemper: We were shocked by outrageous fees for checked bags -- 60 EUR for one piece that other airlines consider carry on. More than the ticket itself! Watch out for this. Wish kayak had included this info somehow.
Short easy flight
Fordele: Seats were comfortable leather, they served drinks and your choice of sweetbreads savory snack, flight was short, and we didn't have to go through passport control because we were traveling between two EU countries.
Ulemper: No entertainment but flight was so short it didn't matter

Ulemper: I have never seen such a failure of leadership and I will go public with this story. I am a Jewish American who lost most of my family in world war 2. This is an experience that has shaped my whole exsistance and I was almost arrested for saying the word "nazi" under my breath. The police came and when I mentioned my history And I was told that I need to forget the past and that saying the word "nazi" is illegal in Germany. I was not allowed on the flight (and any others for the rest of the day) and no one would give me their name. The supervisor who never came down to talk to me told his workers not give me his name. My husband and I were forced to buy new tickets with Luftanza. I am going public with this story and it's cruel irony. There will be consequences. Shame on air berlin.
Good for a quick hop
Fordele: Very prompt and curtious staff. The flight was smooth and I was seated in an exit row, so there was plenty of room.
Ulemper: We had to check baggage last minute and it was very expensive, but we could have purchased tickets with baggage, so just be aware if you have luggage to purchase in advance. Also, only 8 kilos allowed as carry-on, mine was small enough but too heavy... :( Boarding in TXL was crowded with other flights leaving in the same area, but we got on with no problems.
Fordele: Nice flight, fairly standard. Met expectations, crew was very nice and snacks better than average

Ulemper: Air Berlin is ready for closing their business. They have no idea of what they are doing and it's the worst airline I've ever flown.

Ulemper: I had missing items when I landed back in Munich. The staff took clips off my bag and water bottle. They are climbing clips so they can't just fall off. I asked baggage representive and she said nothing they can do. So I lost 30 euro on clips. SO GERMAN. !!!!

Ulemper: Virkelig lang kø i lufthavnen, selvom næsten alle checker ind på internettet. Fandt det ubehageligt og stressende at anslå bagagevægt og betale for indchecket bagage online på grund af tung $ straf, hvis du venter, indtil du kommer til lufthavnen. Jeg tror, at dette gøres, så de ikke behøver at have personale til check-in-skrankerne i lufthavnen mere tilstrækkeligt. Sæderne var ikke behagelige (ikke meget puder), og benværelset var stramt.

Dejligt personale, men forfærdelig logistik
Fordele: Personalet og maden var meget rare. Desværre var det en kamp at komme fra Punkt A til Punkt B.
Ulemper: De havde ikke tilstrækkelig tid til tilslutningsfly (vi rørte ned på samme tid, som mit tilslutningsfly var ved at gå om bord), og de skruede en masse passagerer over i sidste øjeblik, da de ikke sendte deres bagage til tilslutningsflyet. Jeg mistede min bagage og har stadig ikke fundet den.
Fordele: Forsinket i to timer, det er ok, men ikke at kunne finde bagagen er et stort ubehag og stress

Fordele: Besætningens ledelse af situationen, reserverede et hotel med morgenmad til alle passagerer. Det var dejligt, men stadig.!!!
Ulemper: Fly forsinket i mere end 1 time først, så vi gik om bord sent, så bad de os om at komme ned af flyet (på grund af vejrproblemer), vi endte på et hotel, der sov samlet dagen efter (12 timer i alt)
Fordele: Min mand og jeg er begge høje mennesker, over 6 fod, og det var de mindste mest ubehagelige sæder, vi nogensinde har været i. Vi blev sat i det allersidste sæde og kunne ikke engang få plads til vores ben i. Da personen foran mig forsøgte at sætte sit sæde tilbage, var jeg så meget smerte, at jeg var nødt til at bede ham om at flytte det tilbage. De ville også opkræve USD 120 for en taske, da vores fly kun kostede $100, hvilket var latterligt! Heldigvis var personalet rart nok til at give afkald på dette gebyr for os.
Fordele: Da vi ankom til lufthavnen og gik mod Air Berlin-skranken, viste det sig, at kortet returneres uden bagage. Flyet fra Tel Aviv til Berlin omfattede en kuffert, men ikke fra Berlin til Tel Aviv. Vi betalte 120 euro for bagage, selv om vi ikke har set en invitation, der ikke har betalt alt på forhånd. Ingen forsøgte at hjælpe os, og at forklare og attitude var kold og arrogant.

Fordele: Jeg følte aldrig, at jeg var ved at blive pøbel ved check på denne måde før. Fyren havde en tendens til at hjælpe, men i stedet gjorde det kun sværere for alle kroppen. Han bad om at ompakke af uklare årsager. Tvinge folk til at åbne deres kufferter på disken for at flytte en genstand fra en pose til en anden. Opladning af en rygsæk på størrelse med en personlig håndtaske. Derefter er der 3 euro om bord på en lille flaske. Eneste toiletpapir var gratis. Aldrig igen!!!
