The worst car rental experience of my life. I have rented cars in Mexico before, and this was by far the most miserable pickup experience. I'd rather travel on a donkey than rent from Europcar again. Europcar would not allow me to pickup my car without purchasing additional rental car insurance. I already have rental car insurance through my credit card, but Europcar forces you to purchase additional insurance through them, which is more expensive than the cost of the rental itself! This is not disclosed at all by Kayak or Europcar during booking. We paid 140 Eur in advance for the car, but it isn’t visible on the final receipt. We were told to pay a huge amount of money for the insurance - it was 3-4 times more expensive then the car itself and this price was not expected at all. We had to leave 500 usd deposit and they said that we will get it back in 4 days. 4 days has passed and the deposit is still not refunded.Anmeldt d. 3. okt. 2022

The service at Europcar Cancun Airport was excellent, they were very attentive and helpful, and the car itself was great . Unfortunately there is no option to purchase insurance ahead of time online, they do not accept personal foreign insurance policies, and insurance is required in Mexico. It is the most expensive insurance I've ever seen anywhere, increasing the week long rental cost from under $100 USD to almost $900 USD! The airport office tried to cheat every renter by adding on insurance at $86 per day. Customers were outraged and furious. Eventually after lots of nonsense about “consulting the manager” this was dropped to $26 but by then we were so angry that we called a cab and left. The next day we went to the in-town location and picked up the car without being cheated. Do not rent from EUROPCAR at Cancun Airport. Dishonest. Unpleasant. Zero stars.Anmeldt d. 28. mar. 2022
