Staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean and tidy, the hotel is easy to access and is well located in the city.
had a truely excellent time over a weekend and would highly recommend it to anyone. the staff were friendly and helpful. the rooms were spacious and well equipped and the breakfast were a real treat.
Good choice of restaurant in a relaxing setting. The staff were welcoming but not in your face.
The Food was tasteless.
Everything was very pleasant and comfortable what you expect from a 5 star hotel, highly recommended. Some of the reception staff were a bit too regimental ,could have been little more friendly.
The luxury and attention to detail and genuinely friendly/helpful staff. Low numbers of Irish staff.
Hotel facilites were excellent. Superb breakfast and dinner in the evening. Great views of the River Lee and Weir.
The room was great, really comfortable and modern The staff at the front desk were abrupt and not very welcoming. Need Training!!!!!
Friendly attentive staff, upgraded room on check-in, which was very comfortable, especially bed Only a minor negative but there was no shower gel in bathroom, had to go & find some from maid
Great room and bathroom; Awesome breakfast
The Kingsley was a great place to settle down In Cork. The staff were professional and took pride in their work. The rooms were nice and clean. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. I didn't mind this actually but the Kingsley is about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center. You could take a cab or walk it. The reason i didn't mind was because it was far enough away that you weren't surrounded by the noise.
The staff were friendly and the place was clean. I had a chicken wrap at the bar which was very disappointing. Instead of a wrap I got what looked like a chicken stew in soy sauce that was quite spicy and not at all what you expect from the menu. Also scrambled egg in the morning had far too much salt in it! The hotel is being renovated and it was a long treck to my room and confusing when the lift didn't work. I thought I left something in my room and rang the hotel. Housekeeping were to call me back but I still haven't heard from them. I since found what I was looking for!
A very nice hotel, will book again. No coffee making facilities in room.
We liked the location. Situated on a hill overlooking the city and just a nice distance for a brisk walk downhill into the city only about 15 minutes. However, returning is all up hill so on some occasions we had to opt for taxis which were all very reasonably priced. The hotel was spotless and very comfortable and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Good selection of food and reasonably priced. Gym facilites were excellent - all new varied machines as recently installed and brand new pool, jacuzzi , steam room and sauna. We used all these facilities 2 days running.
Reception staff were lovely. Breakfast food was very nice No spare pillows available in room. No Tea Making facility in room. Staff at breakfast were very un welcoming
We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was a very private setting and we enjoyed the fact that we could come and go without any disturbance. Just a minor detail cups and cutlery were not changed every day
I asked for the radio in my room to be fixed and it was fixed by the time I got back that evening which was great. The best facility was the swimming pool - really lovely pool. The lift! doors slow to close. If stairs were available and signposted I'd prefer to use them.
The staff were very friendly, the location is great - a thoroughly enjoyable visit,to be repeated.
Good hotel facilities, standard of room, Hotel easy to find, Found it easy to get to main routes to tour the area. No
It was a nice stroll from the hotel to the city. I seems now in Ire most 4* Hotels are cutting back and all the guest is left with is functionality, however not even this could be delivered here. A teenage party in one a function room was let continue late into the night, out into the hallways, complete with boy racer stunts in the car park, no sleep. Also typical of these hotels, the traditional Irish breakfast is ruined by these large self-service covered trays with rashers, scrambled? eggs etc, cooked god knows when and dumped into these trays, with the self-digging pleasure left to the "guest". There was a complete lack of any visible manager at all, perhaps they only look in via the web to see occupancy. I noted a little Best Western logo in the bedR, checked not on website, uncool!
quiet hotel, non invasive staff, good parking, good leisure club
beautiful hotel and friendly staff breakfast not great
Relaxing and enjoying the surroundings Disapppointed with restuarant food.
Excellent hotel. Service was fantastic. staff were very polite and always helpful. I will definately return
We really enjoyed the spa facilities and the warm, relaxed & friendly atmosphere around the hotel. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet time away from the hustle & bustle of the city. The hotel restaurant was disappointing. The meal took far too long to be served & the restaurant was quite cold.
This is a first class hotel with extremely curteous staff, wonderful location and quality of accommodation. Would definitley recommend this to anyone!! The only down point to the stay was the bed. While the bedding itself was extremely comfortable, it was two (large) single beds pushed together. Due to the carpet protectors on the legs, the bed shifted slightly during the night and if not careful you could fall down between the 2 beds..
Peace n quiet pool spa etc nice room Lack of kettle n room
access to cork heating in room does not work and can not be fixed
No courtesy bus into city.
The hotel itself was luxurious and classy. wine 8e per glass 3e per can of coke in the room, menu quite expensive but it was a 5star hotel so i suppose it was always going to be expensive.
Nice, comfortable and warm hotel interior and very comfortable room. Food good but overpriced. Good spa facilities although found the pool and spa water a little cold and for that reason probably will not return for the spa facilities. Booked a very reasonable 2 night stay with booking.com but very disappointed to hear that guests who had spotted a local newspaper advertisement were staying for a night with dinner and breakfast for approx. a third of the price of what we were paying for our room plus dinner. Raised our disappointment with reception staff on departure but even though I called the hotel directly looking for their best rate/offer for our stay I was advised that it was merely unfortunate but that if we didn't read the newspaper advert...
Alt var godt Nej det var bare iorden
ok hotel nej
Beliggenheden nogenlunde.
Location, bed was massive Charged for room cleaning and noise from street
The reception area has a nice seating area to relax after eating or prior to retiering for the evening The access (lift) and stairwells are not the best and could do with modernisation.
The helpfulness of Hazel the receptionist
man made waterfall by the restaurant made the stay even more relaxing
The staff were very helpfull and the room was very comfortable. Nothing....
the room & facilities are excellent, better than most places iv stayed in which over the odds were payed. 65euro for 2 people - great value. stayed here b4 too and it was more so nice to see bit of value.don't have to check out til 12pm - amazing! it was all good
Location, staff and restaurant A couple of the bathroom fittings in room 110 were loose (handle on WC cistern, and seat)
The smells of the kitchen and the noise of the cooker hoof/ airco where drifting in our room from 7.15h till 00.00h.
The room is very comfortable and it is good location. Would recommend hotel. It is quite noisy in the mornings. The cleaning staff were slamming doors in the hallway so it was difficult to sleep.
location, wonderful breakfast lack of dining facilities during remainder of day
Liked the location and the rooms were large, and nicely decorated. Shower is brilliant, really powerful. Its so hot, windows dont open more than about 2 inches and quite uncomfortable to be so warm especially when your getting ready after a shower.
Space of the room and king size bed , newly refurnished room , nice bathroom. Location quite near from main streets of Cork. Our room was on the street side , and thus quite noisy . Rooms on the other side are preferable I suppose.
Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable No
location & value for money. no
All of the staff,Reception,Diningroom, and Night staff were pleasent and most helpful. The position of the room safe, floor level, in the room I stayed in on this visit.
When I asked for new pillow cases because mine had hair all over them, the counter help did bring me new ones and apologized. The breakfast was decent. It was dirty. And for the money a higher standard was expected.
location, very close to city center noise coming from outside at night (pubs, noisy guests)
Modern decor, very clean, 5min walk into the city, nice breakfast, helpful staff, free parking, easy to find. Would definately stay there again! No bottled water in the room or any vending machines (that we could find!) to get a drink from which was worse as the rooms were roasting at night even with the window wide open and there were no dials to control the room temperature.
good location price to high for standards and facilities
Facilities The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not. It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold. We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste. So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.
Staff very helpful to ensure our stay was most enjoyable
Very comfortable king size bed, excellent food in Perrotts Restaurant (but wine a bit on the expensive side), lovely swimming pool, hotel in good location within walking distance of city centre. No tea / coffee making facility in bedroom would be our main complaint. Reception staff on arrival were friendly but while checking in, the girl answered two phone calls, and spoke to other guests around us making us feel a bit in the way.
amazing staff, nothing too big a problem, beautiful surroundings.
Very welcoming, great value and city centre location, but a countryside feel in the beautiful gardens
the staff were so friendly and helpful-the food was very good-5 star all the way
From start to finish it was very relaxing. The Staff were excellent we initially had a problem with our room the carpet was very gruby, we called reception and they immediately came up and moved us to another room. The food was excellent. Even though this hotel was rated 5 star i felt the rooms were 4 star standard
Perfect staff who were interactive but not overly intrusive. Excellent food in an unstuffy atmosphere. Interesting layout of furnishings and nooks and crannies. The layout of the bedroom was at times impractical.ie dressing table with no mirror but a TV and hairdryer and the desk with mirror but cluttered with writing and information brochure. So nowhere to put toiletries.
Staff were excellent. Hotel is gorgeous and makes you feel special There was slight dirt in the room... around the bath grouting and on the wooden slatted blinds in the room (dust). For 5 star this should be up to standard! Other than that it was lovely.
comfortable and relaxing and very pleasant somewhat pricey
Old world charm and very polite staff
The rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. We arrived early, got a room quickly, and even were upgraded to a suite just like that. The staff treated us like queens and kings, making us feel like part of their family. Everyone was cheerful and helpful during our stay, and the bartenders were eager to talk about local places to see and shop at. A highlight indeed for our Ireland trip.
The hotel is in a great location and we were able to park nearby which is a plus for a city hotel without a car park The rooms are very small but it is an old hotel and there is very little you can do about that
Rooms Noise outside and heat in rooms
Very comfortable beds! Friendly service The fact that you had to book to use the spa pool was not clearly pointed out upon check in, meaning we missed out on going. A mini bar would have been nice!
v central to cork city. lovely old style hotel
Comfortable Bed and location All OK
Very beautiful hotel, especially for the price! Perfect location and friendly staff! Cannot go wrong! Nothing to complain about! Excellent!
Poor hot water supply
staff very good
the recognition of myself when I entered the hotel and said I had a reservation, my name was said by Geraldine, the receptionist. The concierge was also helpful when I was looking for a nearby building.
How close it was to the city centre The price, and the fact I had to pay for breakfast!!
Friendly staff. Very good standard of room. Lack of food selection at 10.00 pm and 11.00 am
Everything - great hotel, helpful and friendly staff, good food and free courtesy coach to the airport terminal.
Excellent, clean hotel with an extremely convenient location. It was a wonderful value for the price.
Great large room with all facilities incl wifi. Great breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Great evening meal in restaurant. We are world travelers staying in 3-4 star chain hotels, we wish every hotel was this good! We never heard one plane take off! Stay here. We cancelled a city centre hotel in Cork on arrival because of traffic and limited parking. i.e. No parking! Stay at this hotel ! You will be pleased. Staff are very helpful too!
The menu in the obar has been refreshed.better selection the breakfast still needs looking at
This was an unexpected treat. The hotel has only been open for about a month. The staff went out of their way to accomodate our every need. I would highly recommend this hotel. Great value for money.
The cleanliness of the place, the bathroom sparkled the bedroom was exceptionally nice. No, it was perfect in every way.
Staff friendly, welcoming and polite. Room excellent with free Wifi etc. Interesting design to the public rooms - aircraft memorabilia. Food good and well presented. Good to have the option of freshly cooked omelettes at breakfast. Only downside was tables in the bar which doubled up as the restaurant for dinner. The modern design of the tables made it impossible to get my legs under the table in a normla way. It was necessary to sit with legs wide apart or "side saddle" - even more of a problem for a woman!
No dining room for dinner in the evening
We arrived late at night and departed very early for our flight out, but the staff and amenities were excellent -unfortunately our stay with you was too short to add more detail.
Fantastic. Stayed 7 nights, would go back to Ireland just to stay at this hotel. Rooms were big, comfortable, and clean. Staff was wonderful, especially Manny at the front desk. Went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Restaurants were good, location was central to everything. Highly recommend !
The staff were extremely helpful & polite.
Next to airport. Nice, clean room. Helpful staff.
The hot shower was nice and the full Irish breakfast was yummy We checked in at 0930 got to our room but found that they put us in a differnt room than I had booked. Much smaller and the smoke smell was very strong. Also during through out the day hours a small dog kept barking which was annoying.
Took ages to get breakfast in morning if anyone was in ahead of you. our friends asked to be moved to room at front as their room was above kitchen and owners quarters and smell of cooking and cigarette smoke was quite strong
The ownner was very friendly and helpful. The house was impeccable... all furnishings are of a very high standard and everywhere was spotless. The breakfast was very good. It is in a very central locatiion. We felt that the room, though luxuriously furnished and decorated, was cramped, and definitely too small for 3 people. (It was classed as a super double). It contained a small double and a single bed. Luckily, there were only two of us and we were comfortable for our one night stay.
I think it is deceiving with a name like Blarney Stone and we thought it was 10 min walk away from Blarney Castle, not 20 mins drive. Should have stayed at the Blarney Castle Hotel in blarney not cork.
pleasantly decorated, nice atmosphere, very clean. Breakfast took ages to serve,3/4 hour, not good if you are in a hurry. Also about 15 min walk from any restaurants or bars. No lift, difficult as I was with an 78 year old and we were on the top floor, 4 flights up.
Beautiful room in a tastefully decorated guesthouse. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful.
There was nothing that I liked about my stay there. The owner smokes heavily and consequently all of the rooms smell of smoke. The wifi does not work above the second floor. The location is not very close to anything a tourist is interested in seeing. Indeed, it had an industrial look to the neighborhood.
The B&B was very quaint, the breakfast was awesome & the owner was charming. the smell of cigg smoke was constant
the weather thats all. tv wasnt workin, not enough towels, not that great
Very friendly staff. Good car parking
The foyer, bar area and restaurant are all lovely. Rooms are dated and need of a facelift. Too expensive. The spa facilities are not in the hotel, they are up the top of a steep heel, which you need to drive to really.
reception staff very welcoming no
Cleaniless of hotel in general, comfortable beds, bottles of water provided was a nice touch as well as the biscuits with tea, spacious dining room for breakfast which I might add the food was excellent and last but not least my husband and myself requested to change rooms after our first night as the ventilation system outside was a bit on the loud side and there was no fuss made by the front desk staff who faciltated this move and relocated us to a much quieter room where we were most comfortable and would definitely stay at your hotel again.
Good allround. Friendly welcoming staff. Good design Liked reception area and the piano lounge and the bar/restaurant. Enjoyed meals in the down stairs restaurant also. We were happy and comfortable there. We would stay there again and recommend it to friends
Staff were attentive and helpful. Breakfast plentiful, lounge areas were spacious and relaxing. Easy to access Cork city centre by car. Bathroom was adequate but a little tired and could have done with re freshing.
Good value for money for the quality of the hotel. The breakfast is expensive @Euro 12.50, the hotel is situated about 10 minutes outside Cork city so you need a taxi(11Euro) each way if you are going to the city for few drinks/night out.
the family room was sooooooooooooo comfortable and clean. even though we only stayed one night we noticed the staff to be so genuine and nice. this is the hotel for us for all our visits to cork from now on. to be honest i cant make any comments here as there is nothing to complain about.
I only stayed overnight but I found the staff very friendly and the room very comfortable.
no bar or restaurant
The parking was easy and the price for the BnB was low relative to other options. The decor and amenities were in line with the price we paid. The location. You're a 45 min walk or 10 euro taxi to the central area. We were on the first floor so it was very noisy in the morning with everyone coming down for food.
Very comfortable, large room with french window exit to lovely garden.Excellent breakfast with ample choice. The map suggests hotel is 500m from railway station, it is in fact 5km and a taxi or (infrequent) bus ride from the centre, or 30 min walk.
I liked the fact that the room was ours for the weekend. It gave the impression of being more like a hotel than just a bed and breakfast. The pillows were too flat.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast was lovely. I was a little bit far from the city centre for shopping.
I liked the distinctive character of the old house. Breakfast was also excelent.
The bed. Breakfasr good too.
The size of the room, friendly staff
Very Very Noisy
Quiet and comfortable, nice touches such as soap and handcream in the bathroom. Access to garden through patio doors which was lovely. The breakfast was excellent and really set us up for the day! The staff are lovely. Reliable bus service to the town but the last bus back is 11-11.30 pm which is rather early. A taxi is about 10 euros. There are no pubs or restaurants nearby so a bar in the lodge would have made it perfect.
The place was as described. It was very clean and comfortable. It was fairly easy to find. The location was nice The innkeeper, John, needs a lesson in communication and kindness. He abruptly greeted us and proceeded to scold us immensely. We showed up at 10:30 in the evening. He went on and on about how we should have contacted him and that we were supposed to check in between 2-5. He told us how he waited all day and that we really inconvenienced him. It was so uncomfortable. I actually lost sleep over the matter. I felt so badly. It was ridiculous. Despite the fact that I apologized several times he never apologized for his bad behavior. It was so not acceptable. I never read anywhere that we had to check in at a certain time. I went back and looked that evening. It is a lodge and if 10:30 is too late to check in I think that perhaps he is in the wrong business.
The breakfast menu was extensive and delicious. The staff were courteous and efficient. Great value for money; next time I'm in Cork I'll be back.
