Fordele: The room was huge... we had 4 beds for a company of 3, and those beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing. It was very big, the bath was extremely comfortable and the wash basin was big (maybe a bit high for those among us who are not that tall). The breakfast was home made and fresh. The welcome was very friendly, including a lot of explanation about the town and where to find everything.

Ulemper: The breakfast was served relatively late (8:30) and there were a lot of stairs to get to the family room.

The hosts are welcoming and friendly, every detail in this cosy old house is beautifully designed and crafted, and the breakfast—as mentioned by other reviewers before me—is just perfect; so it has been a pleasure staying there. I do not tend to write enthusiastic reviews, but I find this hotel exceptional.

Fordele: This place is a treat. My room was large, tastefully decorated and more than comfortable. We took extra time for breakfast, as there are so many delicious items to taste from. Parking was close to the property and easy to find for me. I was here for work, but would love to come back with my partner for a weekend.

Fordele: The host from heaven, she was there for everything needed and more. Private garden is a huge plus for resting your mind. I needed to stay after the check out so this great lady, the host gave me key to stay in lounge area.

Fordele: Fantastic breakfast - all freshly cooked - eggs, bacon, lovely croissants, yogurts etc.

Ulemper: Our room, Vanilla was warm, without air-conditioning.

Fordele: We booked this hotel because it was advertised as having electric vehicle charging facilities. Which it did but was extremely surprised that we were charged €10 for using the charging facilities. This is the first time I was ever charged in a hotel for using their charging facilities. At the very most it might have cost the hotel €1 for the amount of electricity I would have used. We also paid extra for our room with air conditioning. I would only come back to this hotel if no other property was available.

Ulemper: It was clean and the activist was very good.

Fordele: Breakfast was outstanding, comfort was pristine! Facilities were great. Owner & staff also very friendly and extremely helpful. Would choose to stay here any day over your regular run of the mill Hotel!

Ulemper: The location is a little away from the city centre (~10-15 mins walk), although it is fairly close (~5 mins) to the station which can be an advantage when travelling (noise is not an issue).

Fordele: We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the villa. The building itself is a delight to those who appreciate "old" construction while amenities necessary for modern life, e.g. bathrooms, wifi, etc. are modern and functional. Our bedroom was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of light and space, a comfortable bed, and a modern bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic with many delicious home-made choices, e.g. jams, cakes, muesli, fresh-squeezed orange juice, etc. as well as offerings one expects at well-provisioned hotels, fresh bread and rolls, sliced meat and cheese, and so on. We enjoyed comfortable evenings in the parlour with a fire. The staff was extremely welcoming and professional from email communications prior to our arrival to welcoming us to the villa to ensuring our every want at breakfast and recommending local attractions and services.

Fordele: We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very nice and kind and the breakfast was great. Delicious and very generous. The Villa itself is beautiful and very quiet. We highly recommend this place.

Ulemper: The bath had cracks in it and some rust. Hopefully this will be fixed by our next visit.

Fordele: Super friendly people in the place, old couple trying to speak in all languages. Very warm welcome and immediately giving advices, helping with what we needed. They were also flexible with the breakfast and packed as we had to leave early. I can just recommend this lovely place.:)

Ulemper: Unfortunately, we arrived a bit late in the evening and almost everything was closed around for dinner. It's more of a watch out of you reach the place around 9.00-9.30 p.m. At the end we found a pizza place. Plus if you go to Brussels the traffic is horrible, can take up to 2 hours vs what google says sometimes: 45 min.

Fordele: It was simple and functional. Everything you needed with really friendly staff and a good breakfast. I would use again.

Ulemper: A bit unromantic so I wouldn't stop there with my wife and son on a trip, but for single person use its fine.

Fordele: Our rooms were clean, with table and chairs, a settee plus bunk beds. Ensuite with shower. Beautiful gardens with some amazing plants and seating areas. And a Donkey !! We were greeted by our host Marie Louise and given a list of places to eat nearby and she offered us bikes to get there as we had a problem with the car. We had a fantastic breakfast , lots of choice. Tea and coffee available all day and evening in the breakfast area. Unfortunately, it was only an overnight stay. I would have been very happy to stay longer. Our son and daughter-in-law were given a discount too on arrival as our Grandson was so young. Would have liked to explore the area but we didn’t have time. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Fordele: Friendly staff, clean and tidy, delicicous breakfast with Belgium chocolade as pièce de résistance. Safe and spacious private parking & lots of closets and good showers, staff welcomed group arriving with motorcycles ---> biker friendly location.

Fordele: We went to the Truck Grand Prix in Zolder. The race track can be reached on foot in half an hour. It is not a luxury hotel that we did not expect and did not book. But it is a very good family-run country hotel. The friendliness of the owners and the cleanliness should be emphasized. There are free parking spaces available and the owner takes you directly to the race track with a small bus free of charge. Thanks a lot and keep it up!

Fordele: Great character, and very pleasant staff made thus an ideal spot for us to stop over on the way to Germany. The town was interesting and the hotel just a short walk from the town centre. Our room 42 was a corner room with excellent decor - windows on both sides with net curtains all around making a unique feel. The bed was huge 6ft+ and the corner position gave the room a quirky feel. Refurbishment at the moment gave us a shock at first with scaffolding alongside the reception. Ignore this you will be very pleased once inside.

Ulemper: One of us is in a wheelchair and whilst the staff made every effort to accommodate us be aware for some even this spacious room isn’t fully accessible. One main moan, the sink really is design over function - it’s impossible to get one knees under the sink especially if in a wheelchair- long distance ablutions therefore needed.

Fordele: modern and clean, small hotel with good location. Simple and efficient check-in and out.

Ulemper: Room on the small side, aircon was very noisy so we opted for open windows even if that meant street noise. Design came before comfort it seems. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Warm options to be ordered separately but staff messed up the simplest orders.

Fordele: The location of this hotel is excellent, just on the edge of the city center and everything is within walking distance. The penthouse room where we were staying was great value for money, very clean, stylish and modern. It's a spacious room with a large balcony, and is very impressive for the price. No less than 3 TV's cover the bedroom, lounge and bedroom for all your viewing pleasure. Hotel staff were very friendly, attentive and professional. Check-in &-out went without a hitch. Breakfast was very good, with cooked-to-order eggs, sausages and bacon served right at the table. Coffee, choco, and fresh orange juice are also served at the table, making for a very relaxed start of the day.

Ulemper: Some modern features such as the lighting controls and are unnecessarily complicated by working them into a single lightswitch. Some limescale build-up on the bathroom fossets and showerheads are the only thing to remark in this otherwise very clean and comfortable hotel. The penthouse rooms are accessible only by stairs from the floor below, so people with a handicap or decreased mobility may want to check with hotel staff before booking.

Ulemper: Odd the cleaner came in uninvited and continued to clean up whilst we were watching a film in front of us. Had to ask him to leave which was weird.

Fordele: The room was set-up in a very smart way, with all of the wellness facilities nicely integrated and decorated with good taste. It is really a very nice concept to privately relax / weekend away at your own pace. The breakfast was really nice and fresh - lovely to get that delivered to your room at a time of choice. Location was easy and very peaceful area Parking facilities We signed up for optional massage which was just superb !

Ulemper: The room was not cleaned well, some areas were dusty - just some extra vacuum cleaning of the floor would have made a huge difference . The dining chairs were damaged- they need replacement. We found it really unfortunate because otherwise this place would have received a 8+ score Maybe ? It was because the owners were away and have a temp staff managing the B&B, this has happened ? Although she was polite and helpful, she did not offer us a warm welcome - it was clear that “her heart was not into it” - like one would expect at a B&B

Fordele: We have stayed several times here and it never disappoints. Perfect location on the edge of the Albert Canal and the city centre, wonderful buffet breakfast with healthy options, lovely pool and sauna, helpful staff, comfortable quiet rooms. Weekend checkout at 12 which is nice.

Fordele: Breakfast : basic but good quality. Location : walking distance from the city center, parking in front of hotel is limited, but free from 19:00 till 09:00, payment parking in about 200m distance (16Euro/24H) free parking with more space in about 300m distance.

Ulemper: Little to say : No drink water, no inclusive of ammenities in the room rate.

Fordele: The hotel did go out of their way to ensure our Multi-Van with a Kart was parked in a secure VIP area infront their other hotel. We really appreciated this.

Ulemper: I might have misplaced my Bosch fleece. It might have been left in the cupboard of room 112 when we checked out. My fault. If the staff see it please let me know.

Fordele: We arrived in the middle of a storm, it was dark with heavy rain. The hotel was a welcome sight once we found it. Underground parking a short distance away was very good.

Ulemper: What an absolute nightmare this hotel is to find. There is a one way system in the town which is extremely difficult to find your way around. In the dark and rain almost impossible. What makes it worse is the line of trees in front of the hotel completely obscure the hotel sign. The following morning........... I defy anyone to find their way out of Hasselt without devine intervention. There are no signs to direct you from the inner ring road to the outer ring road (where there are signs). I never want to go there again, ever.

Fordele: Hotel and staff very good, location suited us very well, plenty do do and easy access to explore further afield ( Alden Biesen). Would recommend a dude the hotel again.

Fordele: Room had the perfect size for one person. The bed was super comfortable and everything was tidy and clean. Also modern bathroom!

Ulemper: The deep stairs to get to the rooms (no elevator available). Elderly people might have problems with that.

Fordele: Very comfortable, clean and functional room. There is AC in the room which was much appreciated as we were there during a heat wave. The breakfast was also fantastic! Bread rolls with ham and cheeses, cereal and spreads all brought to your table with fresh orange juice and coffee/tea.

Ulemper: The hotel is joined to a restaurant so there is not always staff at reception as they run the restaurant too. There is also no lift and all the rooms are upstairs.

Fordele: The hotel was perfect for me. The room was small, but clean and comfortable with everything you needed, and it was a nice touch that they gave you a bottle of water and mints each night. The location was excellent - close to the station and just down the road from the Grote Markt, but the room was quiet. The breakfast wasn't the best I've had, but was perfectly adequate. If ever I went back to Hasselt I would definitely stay there again.

Ulemper: Not a problem for me, but my room was on the fourth floor and there was no lift, so if you had mobility issues that would be worth bearing in mind.

Fordele: Nice beer garden for drinks and food. Leafy and quiet. Nice modern decor in rooms.

Ulemper: Would be good if they could extend wifi into garden area.

Fordele: Good breakfast, including eggs on demand; Very good coffee; Ideal location, close to a bunch of restaurants and bars also close to a small shop that is open late at night; The room was cleaned very well everyday.

Ulemper: The towels were replaced everyday, even though they were not on the floor or in the bath tub, as practiced by other hotels. Maybe make a note in the rooms to only replace the towels if wanted. Not necessary bad, but it will be good for the environment.

Fordele: Breakfast has plenty of choices. On breakfast, waitresses approach and ask you for the coffee or eggs.

Ulemper: I didn't like the room. Heating is possible only via air-condition, which produces a lot of noise and generates heat only in one place. Needed to turn it off so I could sleep peacefully, but then in the morning taking shower in the cold room, it isn't pleasant. The TV is unusually small and on weird position. (not worth the deluxe room) Previously I was in a non-deluxe place, which had 2 separated el. radiators and a bigger TV. It was a much better choice.

Fordele: The location was good. Roof top bar was nice and the indoor pool was nice as it hit 40 while we where there.

Ulemper: It was hot while we where there and the heating in the room was always put up. We stayed 10 nights and our room was done 4 times. And that's because we asked. Also the parking was really expensive. Surely some subsidy could be arranged for guest's

Fordele: All very good, lovely room and helpful staff, didnt eat there so no opinion on restaurant

Ulemper: The sky lounge bar service was atrocious, massively understaffed, unfriendly bordering on rude and dirty glasses on vacated tables for the majority of the evening

Fordele: The comfort of the room is nice, the bed was really good, the cushions are amazing ! A lot of room. The Skylounge was nice to chill. The restaurant, the chef did his thing, it was really tasty. Easy access to everything.

Ulemper: The room next to us made a lot of noise, you can also hear the noise from the hallway, that wasn't fun at 7 in the morning. The bottom of the pool was a bit dirty.

Fordele: Loved the lay out and decoration style of the room. It's cosy and small, just what you need for a good night's sleep in the city. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and everywhere in the room/hotel there are fun/motivational quotes. Staff is super friendly and in the evenings you can go downstairs for easy access diner or just a drink in the communal space. Lovely!

Ulemper: The shower (especially the showerhead) could have been cleaner. It's a shame there's so little space to dry your towels.

Ulemper: On arrival at the Ibis and after we had booked in at the desk and given the key to our room - we found that the lift was being maintained so we had to walk all the way up to the 4th floor with our luggage. But the maintenance was soon over and we decided not to complain to the staff.
