Clean, modern and fresh Weird door locks with disks
I chose the hotel for its location, as I wanted to work at the German National Library; and I found it very convenient. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The staff were, if anything, a little too enthusiastic.
Staff helpfullness Quiet room Nice breakfast
Friendly staff, very clean rooms. Street was reasonably quiet, except for the trams. The carpet had just been changed. Decent beds. Nice but small courtyard for breakfast and drinks at night. Smoking allowed on courtyard. TV had HDMI and S-VIDEO connectors. Cheap breakfast with lots of choice. No airconditioning, there are only a few rooms overlooking the courtyard the rest was on the street. Rooms are on the small side, small TV. The hotel is in an old, ugly area of the city. You need a car or a tram to get to the center. Reception closes at 10:30 pm, after which no one of the staff is present. There were higher class hotels a bit further out from the city, we think we would probably have been better off there. Breakfast: eggs were almost always cold. The hot chocolate wasn't hot. The coffee tasted burnt. Little flies were on the fruit and the food laid out in the middle of the breakfast area, which didn't make it look very inviting to eat.
I enjoyed the enormous breakfasts with presentations of 6 plates of different cold cuts, 3 plates of 6 types of cheese, 2 bowls of different fruit salads, 6 different types of cold cerials, eggs scramble, soft boiled, hard boiled, sausage, bacon etc. and the front desk sells strassenbahn tickets. The lock system really has to go, maybe its from the old days of the Democratic Republic!!! Otherwise, the hotel is a good three-star.
Comfortable blankets. It was very far from the city center. The staff was not very hospitable. The rooms were not cleaned properly.
The staff was helpful and friendly There was too much cigarette smoke in the reception area. My first impression was very unfavourable. Either the staff and customers should smoke less or the ventilation should be improved.
nothing in particular the breakfast was poor, the room lacked a fan for hot days
Breakfast, good value/price with comfort. The reception closes early and during the evening there is no one there permanently (it would be nice to have someone there permanently at least until midnight).
The room was clean and neat. A bit too far away on foot but it's OK.
Good distance to a tram. The hotel is nicely furbished. The hotel staff are very friendly and in one case very helpful. The cost of breakfast was not good value for money. I stopped going to breakfast after day two, preferring instead to go into town for something better for the same money.
Wonderfully evocative period hotel (constructed 1913) on the edge of the Völkerschlachtdenkmal park. Excellent value. I would definately stay there again.
The location of the hotel was easy to get to and offered a central location for Leipzig. The staff were wonderful and assisted with directions. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful, bright dining room. We would definitely stay again.
Refurbished with the use of excellent materials, very tastefull
Breakfast rooms - view and atmosphere. Nearby restaurant Self service for buying snack somethin to drink etc Window shades - too much light in the room in the morning when sun came up.
courtesy of staff, position of the hotel, wireless connection of excellent quality for free the steep stairways as only entrance, not easy with a buggy adn/or heavy luggage
Nice view. having to climb up the narrow stairs with suitcases.
Hotel is very beautiful, staff is very friendly. The stairs are difficult to climb with luggage, a fan in the room for the hot days of the year would be nice, since you can't open the window to the massive noise of the trains.
The breakfast was very good, hotel very clean and the staff was very friendly.I Loved it!!!Under the hotel is a very good greek restaurant (Ambrosia).Don't miss it!!! Just only that internet to my room was not good quality.I Think they need an amplifier and bigger antenna. It was very slow and the connection was going away all they time!!!I'll go there again but i'll ask a room nearer to the reception. Parking is also an issue but you always find something.
Friendly staff and convenient for public transport We thought that breakfast was included - should have asked!
