Room smelled, party items left under and behind bed, jacuzzi totally disgusting.
It's looked nice from the outside The toilet didn't work had to Flush it about 5 times, the walls re very thin can hear people through out the night. Was charged an extra $50 for having a small per, where it's free or very minimal fee at every other hotels I have stayed at. Had to sit around the bar about 10 min for someone to even say hello. The bed was extremely noisy. I can say it was one of the worse stays I've had at a hotel.
Had a counter-top with sink and refrigerator. Outlet didn't work for the lamp on the desk, so had to unplug the TV at night to use the desk.
Good value. Can't really complain about much with the price being so low. Staff was nice. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The screen door on the balcony was broken and laying against the outside wall. The hotel overall was aging a bit. It could probably do with a renovation.
The location was perfect for my needs. I had four service calls to make and this property was perfectly located. This is an old hotel that I am sure has been updated probably more than once. It is about ready to be done again.
Great view from our room. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it stunk like cigarettes. The water pressure was terrible; it took forever to take a shower. The staff were mostly decent, but there were a couple of jerks with bad attitudes and poor customer service. I have family in Santa Maria, and I visit often, but the next time I visit, I will stay at the airport Radisson because it is far better by every measure.
Very nice old hotel. People are friendly & helpful, and hotel has many services. Building is almost 100 years old, and very well maintained. Excellent place to relax.
Clean, modern, spacious room with two queen beds. Nice updated bathroom. Located in an area of town with plenty of choices for eating out.
The staff was courteous and helpful. The room service was quick. The chair in the room was not safe at all. It was an older office chair. My wife and daughter almost fell from it. Secondly, there was no microwave which is marginal acceptable. Lastly, there was no mat for the bathtub while taking a shower. The tub was so slippery that anyone can fall easily in the shower.
Restaurant was good, hosts were nice, heated pool was great on a cold night. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. It was directly on the airstrip at the airport so it was very noisy particularly in the early morning.
Only complaint: We were told by the front desk staff that there was a complimentary continental breakfast when in fact there was a limited breakfast buffet that cost $20 for adults and $14 for children.
Convenient location and overall The climate control wasn't that good--it was always running too hot for my choice and when I ran the fan, it became too cold!
Slept like a baby...normally it takes me a day or 2 to get used to a hotel bed...this one I slept so well each night, I'd come back just for the bed! Check-in...Room wasn't ready when we arrived early...staff switched rooms immediately when asked. Check-out...paid thru hotels.com and was then charged on credit card at check-out...when I realized I called and after front desk did a little research they refunded the check-out charge promptly. Breakfast was much better than expected too! Surrounding neighborhood was a little rundown
Need to update rooms. Rooms are very small
Everything. Big room. Nicest towels yet at this priced motel. Great breakfast. Good internet. The whole package was great. It was all good.
Super fine værelser med microovn og køleskab. Fin morgenmad med alt hvad man lige behøver...Rigtigt fint hotel til prisen..
Positivt overrasket over værelset. God beliggenhed med nem af- og tilkørsel på vejen mellem Los Angeles og San Francisco. Flot og opvarmet swimmingpool og spa. Morgenmad og internet adgang med i prisen.
We have had guests stay here twice because it is so close to our home and twice they have been broken into. We felt bad so we had to pay the deductibles for both of them. $500 a pop. I asked the hotel for help with the second one and even talked to the owner and all they would do was point me to the sign that said 'we are not responsible for the parking lot' stuff. They barely even apologized. Nice hotel, but unfortunately we couldn't recommend it.
I like the bathroom set up with both vanity and shower/toilet together in one spot rather than separate from each other. The size and comfort of the bed was very nice as well
clean and neat and quiet we could not find the entrance street. I thought maybe the street light was out

Everything. Dirty bathroom with a bandaid in the shower, disgusting room, horrible service. Never stay here.
Located close to Highway 101! No!
Have someplace to shower and sleep. Too much activity at night. Kind of scary...people argued outside, very loud.
Nothing The towels where old the room was dirty and the shower curtains had stains on them and the internet sucked really bad!!!! Probably will never stay there again
Convenient and quiet Nothing but sports on TV--No PBS
It was close to the 101 and grocery store in Santa Maria. Laundry room near and the pool was clean and nice. 15 min drive to Pismo Beach. Cigarette burn on blanket with red nail polish stained. Sheets were rough and pillows were flat and stale. Bed was very uncomfortable.
check in personnel really nice and polite, Room help nice and considerate. no coffee machine, no dresser, no place to keep toiletries, no clock or radio, no listings for Tv, water leak in wall in bathroom, bathroom door would not close, outside really dirty, Bed really uncomfortable was not happy with experience at all. .

The room was very clean The bed was 2 hard we couldn't sleep good
It was right next to a freeway, but we heard no traffic noise in our room. The motel had a nice laundry room, 2 well stocked vending machines with fair pricing and 2 big ice machines. No in room microwave or way to make hot tea water. No refrigerator! Towels were thin.

The price wasn't awful, and it was right off the 101, which was nice. Managed to be fairly quiet despite being so close to the freeway, and the continental breakfast was pretty good - there's an I-HOP literally attached if you want something more involved. We stayed in a room with a king and the bed gave me massive back issues. The pillows on the bed were uncomfortable and rather then getting normal sized pillows, we got like 8 throw pillows that were miserable to sleep on. What kind of hotel doesn't have normal sized pillows? How is this even a thing? The curtains to the outside were ripped and the "blackout" curtain behind that was torn to pieces. They had tried to fix it with gaff tape, but it still let in a ton of light. You can tell that the facilities here have been majorly neglected. The room was clean, but I still felt icky laying in the sheets that night. I wish I had shelled out another 50 bucks so I could have at least gotten a good night's sleep.
A convenient location if you're travelling along the coast from sf to la. a huge parking lot, big rooms and a variety of restaurants around the hotel.
Breakfast could be a bit better
It was as described. The location is not nice but for us it was just right because we were passing through...
Hotel charged me $250 for apparantly taking a hair dryer that i never took. They only charged it after i had left. I don't even have any hair!
The location The sheets and towels had stains
good acomodations breakfast is extremely simple
The location, near our son's place When we tried to check in at 2pm there was no one at the front desk. we buzzed the door but it took awhile for the manager to show up. The hotel looked like it was out of a scary movie like The Bates Motel in Psycho. The room comforters and floor did not feel clean and it was small. The next morning the breakfast was only donuts and coffee. No milk for the coffee and no juice was available.
The rooms were nicely decorated and for the most part pretty clean. They get your hopes up with breakfast. It's actually a very disappointing spread. There was 99 cent store breakfast bars and packaged cinnamon Little Debbie buns.
The place is clean and the front desk staff is friendly. It is close to Vons and places to eat. Also, I like the fact that the 101 freeway is just down the street. The breakfast is ok. It is limited, but my husband and I are grateful to have something to eat in the morning before we went on our trip to the Winchester Mystery House. I noticed that the door does not have property weather stripping, which allows the air to come through the front door. Other than that, it is a nice place to stay if you are on a short vacation or business trip.
Staff , Size of tv
The staff bent over backwards to be helpful and pleasant.
Clean Room was a little small
The room are very clean, I liked it. It's very accessible, close to restaurants and the freeway a big plus for me. First time traveling with my 6 month old and it was a good stay. It was a little pricey, but there were many events in the area. The back parking lot looks really bad, it has holes and a little dark.
It was clean No air conditioning or fans. Cleaning people entered while we were gone. Room was clean but other guests were a little on the slum side. Over priced for the quality of the room.
Nothing. Very duty. Very noise. Tv not working . Shower duty.
The price was the only good thing about this hotel; you really get what you pay for! They lady up front was nice and friendly! The air conditioner was broke in all rooms, it felt as if something was crawling on us the entire night, & there were weird people going in and out of this one hotel. In fact, our neighbor was verbally attacked by her significant other.
Can't say much but I like it It's OK not bad
Very nice staff and an unexpected coffee and biscuits breakfast. Excellent location and the room was very spacious too!
the rates were okay. The circuit breaker for my room tripped three times during my stay. The non-smoking room smelled of cigar smoke. There were cigarette burns on the blanket, the toilet kept running, and someone called my room before dawn on my last day looking for drugs.
Staff.refrigerator.microwave. No air conditioner. Rundown.
That I lived through the night. The front desk clerk was smacking his lips with food the entire time of check in, the room was right next to the office break room and had to hear a cow bell, their music, and talking all night, the cleaning lady walked in on me in my towel. Bad time.
The area was very reasonable, away from the riff ruff that I noticed on Main street. Everything, the service was poor, lack of communication.
The location of the hotel was a plus. There was no ice containers to get ice and the ice was not free. There was no coffee available on the rooms and they did not open the front office to get coffee until after 7:30 AM. There was no remote control for the TV.
Location. It was dirty had ants and had no ac. When I went to complain at 10pm she said she would send someone an never did I told the management in the morning thet were rude an didnt believe me.
The close proximity to a conference that I was attending
the rate was inexpensive the bed was uncomfortable. many transient people walking around.
was not easy to find. very old.bad maintenance
Nothing I asked for a non smoking room. Tried to give me a smoking room. Said they had HBO, but our room didn't have it.
Nice motel: clean, good location and very expensive. A nice place to stay if you want to go to Sta. Maria Vineyards!
The location was great. Close to everything. The bed was uncomfortable. Chairs had stains on them. Could use some updating.
The location and the pool It's outdated and the carpet looks unclean. The second day they did not clean the shower. Expensive for what it is.
We only slept overnight on our way to San Luis Obispo
The hotel was in a perfect location and was pretty comfortable. Decent breakfast too I felt. I really was dissapointed that there was no little shampoo or conditioner or any amenities in the room. Most places like this at least have that and some even have a blow dryer in the room.
Full size pillows!!!!
It was convenient for visiting a friend that lives in the Central Coast area Yes! We had a bad experience with this hotel. When finishing a shower my friend was unable to turn off the water, the shower would not stop, we tried for 15 minutes to try to turn it off, we called the front desk stating that our shower was messed up and would like to get another room. The front desk proceded to send up someone to try for an additional 15-20 minutes to shut off the water, no such luck. We then had to wait another 20 minutes and 2 phone calls to the front desk to finally get someone to tell us that we could come down and get a key to another room, we then had to pack up all our stuff and move. After complaining to the front desk we still were not offered one of our nights free or even a discount. I wont stay there again!
It was quiet, clean, convenient, and very affordable. I was sad that the hot tub was not working.
Being honest to the best of my ability, there was slim 2 nothing that I can say that I actually like about this over priced dump. However, I do feel silly in saying that I am so much of a closed minded individual that I could not manage to pull up at least one thing that I did infact like about the establishment out of my thought, so I will say that I enjiyed the fact that if nothing else the place stands true to it's name: The Rose Garden Inn because the do have a beautiful variety of rose bushes that appear to be well maintenanced, therefore displayin, (In my opinion), a lovely little rose garden in full bloom at the entrance of the establishment...A+ First & foremost, I got the impression immediately upon entering & not being greeted by either of the 2 absolutely un~occupied staff that they were not excited about the fabulous price that I had reserved the room for thriugh Kayak. Then, they asked if I'd prefer smoking or non~smoking & I replyed smoking because why? I smoke. At that point, (Of course, in some foreign language), employee #1 states a few word to employee #2 who is doing my check~in. Suddenly they have no availiable smoking rooms with only 1 bed. I let them know that I was fine with a non~smoking room & I promised I'd go outside to smoke. Next problem...Apparently my credit card was declined (ALLEDGEDLY), & seeing as to how I had spoken with customer care at the card company only moments before entering tbe establishment, I was quite surprised to hear that the card was declined. Before I could even ask if they would try once more to run my card, employee #2 was sending ALL of my paperwork including the reservation through the paper shredder & all but threw my card & CDL at me. I do not drive & had taken a taxi along w/my over night bags to the establishment from the transit center, so I went outside & immediatly called Customer Care at my Financial Institution. The agent advised me that everything was fine in thier computer & that there weren't any blocks, holds or anything else pending that may prevent the establishment from billing. I go back in & ask if they can try once more. Employee #1, whom appears highly aggitated with my request informs me that my reservstion had been cancelled because my card was a "BAD" card. He still however, agrees to try to run my card ONLY once more & if my card is still no good I must leave the front of the establishment w/my luggage. Of course, still my card was declined. At this point, its a very hot day, I've been traveling, I'm tired, not to mention I'm starting to get pissed so I ask how much would the room be if I were to pay with cash. Employee #1 states (ver batim), "It will be much, much more." All I want to know is HOW MUCH? He blurts out some number that sounded fairly random & in total was nearly $30 more than the Kayak price. Seeing as to how I hadn't expected this, I had no cash & had to walk (with my luggage) in un~familiar surroundings n search of an ATM, at which I used the same credit card that had been declined to pull out money. Upon my return, employee #1 is not anywhere in sight & employee # 2 isacting oblivious to the fact that I would be back to get the room & pay with cash. She finally agrees to rent me the room but gives me a price $13 more than employee # 1 had quoted me. As she hands me the key she states to me that the room is a SMOKING room because that is all they have left...I THOUGHT THAT THEY HAD NO SMOKING ROOMS AVAILIABLE when I first arrived & started this check in process, (which btw, is now nearly an hour later)....What a headache!! Glad to finally be headed into my room...OR AM I??!!!!! Absolutely rediculous.
The hotel was close to the freeway for easy access but not so close that the guests would have to put up with the noise. The room was a good size and though there were some minor repairs nearby it stopped at a reasonable hour so overall the stay was quiet. The room should have been aired out to give a fresh clean smell.
Close to the freeway Older building
The hotel was convenient and clean The breakfast wasn't too good
The double-queen bed rooms I got are huge. It was the dirtiest rooms I had ever been staying. The towels are disgusting (half of them were dirt-colored, and I found a long curly hair on my face after using one that looked decent). There was a thick layer of dust on furniture.
Next to a very nice Mexican restaurant. The room was not clean, there were crums on the table, the user soap of the visitor before us was still there and the Wi-Fi didn't work proper.
It is close to the bus routes along Broadway in Santa Maria. The room had an air conditioning/heater that you regulate.
nothing, it was disgusting. filthy, hair in the bedding and shower.
The location was good to what I needed it for. The motel was not clean, smelled of smoke and there were splatters of what looked like blood on the wall. It was very noisy.
