Great staff service, opulent surroundings. Mixed up our reservation and had to move our room, but we were compensated appropriately and the first room was just as nice as the 2nd.
Staff was very friendly and kind and service is excellent, villa is luxurious and the views are out-worldly and breath-taking. Also they offered us a welcome gift that i really liked. The insects inside the villa but there's nothing they can do really knowing the environment that we're in although they spray the villa everyday from inside and out, and also the villa was far from the reception and restaurant area that we should call a butler with a golf car to pick us up every time we go in and out of the villa, but nothing that ruins our amazing stay
This is a beautiful facillity. The staff is wonderful. Prix fixe dinner for Christmas with no other food available.
Certainly the most beautiful hotel you can imagine for a honeymoon (actually the most beautiful villa we've ever stayed at). Fantastic view and enormous luxury villas with plungle pools! Only one computer for internet acces, which was frequently down. You will have to consider that, since it is close to jungle, bugs will appear inevitably in the evening, but can be reasonably kept out.
- Very nice views and exotic environment: one has the feeling of being in the middle of the jungle; free transfer to the centre of Ubud (15 minutes); large duplex villa with very nice bathroom (incl. large marble bathtub); nice breakfast, swimming pool and other facilities; good spa. - Rooms/villas are slightly over-priced for the quality of services/environment; rooms/villas are insufficiently isolated (e.g. as early as 5 AM the local wildlife, incl. domesticated poultry awakens and it is hard not to wake up together with them, but that of course is part of the charm of a stay in a jungle like environment!)
the villa, tea time were good. Service at breakfast was chaotic, food arrived in a wrong order, serivce was slow
We liked the kind staff, the proximity with the nature, the first room (UBUD 201) was very nice (beautifull view on the rice fields, very comfortable and romantic), the pool was nice too and the gardens were gorgeous (lots of flowers and decoration was beautifull). We didn't like the fact that we had to switch rooms 3 times in 3 days, to satisfy other guests. Furthermore, we do not recommand to stay in room UBUD 101: very dark, humid, it wasn't pleasant at all. If you go there, ask for room UBUD 201 and no other. Finally, what they call a deluxe villa is actually a room and a bathroom in a villa! This is not the same as having a whole villa for your own.
Room was very big, bathroom was also big and had a nice bathtub! The staff are very attentive here and the driver was so amazing - took us everywhere! Really good service. Pool area so relaxing and the breakfast is really nice a la carte service. Hotel is small only 12 rooms but they are expanding. It has a really nice luxury feel to it. For the service we paid a really good price for this room only USD 100 for one night. We stayed on the ground floor and noticed the door frames were slightly too big for the doors so there were gaps, which i wasn't too worried about until i went to sleep and felt a cockroach on my hand in the middle of the night!! There was also a little frog in our bath which wouldn't go away! I guess this is what it's like being in the middle of nature though...
The accommodating staff. The pinesol smell of the room.
Beautiful grounds and setting. Large and well decorated room. Shuttle to town was good. Menu was too gourmet, with limited selections, small portions and high prices. The cheesburger in the bar was the most expensive I have ever had anywhere.
Everything is absolutely excellent and I would recommend this hotel to anybody - it is amazing!!
we felt in another world. the hotel is beautiful and the room too. the view on the rice fiels and nature is amazing and so relaxing. the room was beautiful but unfortunately the humidity smell was very strong. Not sure this room is used very often.
A beautiful hotel set amongst lushous greenery with staggering views over the paddy fields. The hotel is luxurious and staff very friendly, overall we had a fantastic stay on our honeymoon and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings.
One of the most wonderful experiences of our life. Your feel pampered from the moment of arrival till the moment you leave.
The staff were lovely, nothing was ever too difficult, it was so quiet and peaceful, you barely see other guests around. the outside shower/bath area can be dangerously slippery.
The Staff is incredible friendly The designated driver for pick up us in the airport tryes to set bussines with some shops in our way to the hotel,,,,prices were to high when we saw the other shops; obviusly there was an arrengement between them
My wife and I love the "back to nature" atmosphere around the hotel with room facing the rice paddy field. Very quiet, nice hide-out place - away from the city. There is no television. We understand that the hotel management would like to create a relax, urban feeling theme for the hotel. That can be felt during the day. But at night it can be very quiet and where outdoor activities are lacking. Thus having TV set in the rooms can definitely help break the silence.
The swimming pool was nice and during breakfast we had a wonderful view over the rice fields. There were a lot of bugs near and in the hotel room (there was a big cockroach in our bath). The shuttle service to the centre of Ubud was poor. We waited too long and decided to take a taxi back to the hotel. Too much money compared to other hotels.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly, particularly those in the restaurant and they were all very helpful, with suggestions for trips and information on various tours. The lack of access to the internet because the guest computer needed to be repaired.
Great location for those who love to be surrounded by nature... Rice paddies all around, always a nice breeze to make you feel really comfortable. Good shuttle service into Ubud (5 min by car, 25 min by foot).Great hotel for families with children too (we had 3 and 6 yrs old), enough space in the room (Lanei Terrace was perfect) to accomadate all of us, good pool but be careful stones are a bit rough (might give some scratches to the kids!), enough space, garden, corner for the kids to play (might be not suitable for children under 2... since there are stone paths, and a few ponds around). We had a great time in this hotel, breakfast was excellent, good quantity, fresh fruit juices included. Staff very very friendly, helpful and discrete. The same background music every morning for breakfast!
Beatifull tropical garden, very good location - close to the city center and Monkey Forrest Rooms need to be renovated urgently.
The room is so big and clean.. Some renovations.. a bit noise if stay in the hotel day time..
breakfast was complete very noisy, I stayed in Room 303 and noise from guests upstairs was very obvious and again when the housekeeping was cleaning.
We liked the villa, especially the pool and the privacy. The grounds are spacious and well looked after.
Nothing - would not return. No views, bathroom kept making noises during the evening, staff not friendly, pool area had not air moving freely, very uncomfortable hotel, did not get the room we booked, yet there were plenty of rooms available
A quiet and relaxing place to stay and good facilities nearby.
Room was lovely. Spa and massage was great. The food at the resturant wasn't very nice! On nippy day my partner eat the pork from the buffet and it made him extermly unwell!
Excellent central location that is not actually on Jl Hanoman but just off it. Very well appointed and comfortable rooms in units of 4 rooms per cottage. In the room, the bath and toilet are separated by just a curtain on one side and open on the other side (so be prepared!). Reasonable breakfast with plenty to eat. I would have preferred a separate bath and toilet for convenience and privacy. But this is not a big issue.
Disappointing. the description of the room facilities did not match what was actually available - there was no dvd, cd, bathrobes, hairdryer to name a few. the tv only had news (and the occasional documentary) channels in englsh and hence the dvd player would have been very handy. we booked a double room and ended up with a twin. - I do not go only holiday to sleep in a separate bed from my husband!! - the toilet is not separate from the rest of the room (so if an upset stomach is present - and this is quite likely in bali - it is noticable throughout the entire room. the shower water pressure was continually up and down and although the water was hot it took a very long time to come through. the drain smelt and this caused an odour.
Staff very helpful
The room was huge and quite nice and clean. It was almost 4 stars. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was huge. The small refrigerator was welcome. The clothes drying - towel rack was welcome. The only thing the room needed was better lighting -- why are rooms in Bali so dim??? Also, Ubud is probably the victim of sprawl -- the hotel was on a main strip with plenty of restaurants and shops around, but central Ubud was a good 20 minute walk away.
huge room, boutique hotel, view to swimming pool, seldom used by others, buffet breakfast - all you can eat wifi did not work for the time we stayed, room damp, only curtain separating the toilet, each day same breakfast, stained linen and towels, narrow complex
Beautiful resort. Good service.
Very good food; attentive service; good spa; excellent extras (drinks/ laundry etc); very relaxing Constant live music in restaurant became wearisome
The attention to detail and the wonderful staff made it a perfect spot to relax. We could not fault a thing. Sutari, our butler was always there to help when we needed her and indeed anticipated our needs in advance. From booking cars to and from Ubud to booking restaurants etc. The pool area was lovely and the gardens superb. Afternoon tea and cocktails were a lovely touch. We highly recommend The Chedi Club. No complaint about the hotel, but with your booking service I requested a transfer to the Chedi Club. We ended up paying for a driver to take us from Seminyak to Ubud.
Close to Ubud town center. Good breakfast, friendly staff, large room with outside patio. A lot of stairs since hotel spread out on a steep hill.
Excellent location (near Ubud but quiet), romantic (colonial) atmosphere. Serviceminded staff. More room facilities (minibar, safe), very steep stairs
the location the surrounding the architecture a absolutely fantastic place to be I ca not point something that was wrong
Absolutely loved the situation of the hotel, into the side of the ravine, it was so pretty with thatched rooves, lots of tropical greenery, the sound of the river rushing past. Loved sitting on the terrace and looking at the surrounds. First room we were given was next to the roadside, and all we heard was traffic rushing by - also the room was a bit primitive and some of the lights didn't work well (neither did the air con or fan work terribly well). However, when we requested a new room, we were moved to one further from the road, better amenities and facilities and we were more than happy with our situation. Pity there was no bar fridge to keep our water cold, also pity there are no tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms, but aside from that, all good.
The ambience of the site. The feel ing that you are experiencing the real Bali, the feeling of grandeur unlike a new hotel which is perhaps a litle characterless. I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities.
nice location, peaceful surroundings close to town staff sometimes unhelpful and occasioanlly intrusive.
There was no TV, no water boiler for tea, our room was very far from the reception, have to walk up hill and down hill for 10 min. Bathroom quite simple and dark. The double bed was actually two simple bed put together. Very dissappointed.
Nice environment of the hotel, especially situated near the river. Staff were friendly. Could be a bit closer to the town center. Also, windows of the toilet could not be closed, and many insects came in from there. And water was leaking from the toilet tank.
Good staff and good connection to the centre of Ubud. Hotel room is big enough, although doesn't have airco. Every day change of sheets. No airco, Bathroom isn't really clean.
Grounds and setting. Spa facilities thought airflow in room waws limited. When mosiquito coil was lit room got ver overpowered with smell.
The natural setting There was not enough lights in the garden at nights- this made the whereabout difficult. Bathrobes should be provided.
peace and relaxation
Stunning location, very peaceful & quiet for Bali/Ubud. Free transport to & from Ubud centre. Lovely spa for massage. Beautiful swimming pool. Very comfortable bed/room. Library with wonderful books & free internet. Location is a little cool & rainy weatherwise.
Great views and pool. Silent, relaxed atmosphere. Good, however a bit pricey food. Location is fine for people who want to get away from it all - not close to anything else.
Fantastic location, beautifull building, excellent staff and one of the most beautifull swimmingpools I ve ever seen The distance from our room to the central area... Breakfast, dining and swimming pool...and Rooms were à bit damp
wilderness, sarinity and calmness etc. The room provided is too basic for the price charged. There was no chair inside the room that you could sit ana relax. We had to sit on the bed to rest.
Services was excellent. The ambience also wonderful. It's peaceful and very relaxing. No Television in the room.
Location, pool, enviroment Too expansive comparing to other hotels. rooms to simple.
I liked the swimming pool, the big bed in the room and the outside bathroom. The view was as well quite nice. The hotel was too far from the center and didn't have free shuttle bus. The hotel was as well a bit expensive. The next time that I will go to Ubud, I would rather book in a cheaper hotel which is as well in the center.
The view, the swimming-pool, and the spa are fantastic. The staff is very professional. The visit to the local priest (one of the programs to be booked at the hotel) was very interesting.
The infinity pool, the breakfast. The shuttle times to Ubud ended earlier.
silence & solitude. friendly staff, nice spa shallow pool (70cm), unpleasant odor at times
the lagoon is very nice, good for ppl who enjoy light swimming!
new years eve party was so good!
Very nice facilities, excellent desing rooms and very convenient shuttle service to ubud. not very good food and quit expensive. the buffet breakfast is full of flies!!!
great staffs. I really spent an unforgettable night. thanks!
Relaxation, friendly staff, location Not applicable
Good service - excelent location Driver transfer was a little expensive compared to taxi
The hotel staff's good services and comfort of the hotel environment.
We stayed in the deluxe pool villa & it was an absolutely gorgeous room! The food was terrible, we found it necessary to travel into ubud centre to eat every meal.
Villas are well designed and sited well within a setting of rice paddies. The landscaping was particularly well designed and well kept. The toilet/bathrooms are little outdated; and need to be modernised.
Very good breakfast.Awarding winning resturant.Up to world best class standard for food. False advertising.Ubud Charlet room will never be available. There are only 8 rooms looks like the adv. picture out of 58 rooms in total. Some room were renovated but we never had a chance to even see it. Our room was old and no 4 pillar bed. Will send you picture later. When I check out, I saw another pair of traveller were complainting about the room too. What you pay is not what you see in adv. picture.
The hotel was really up to and above our expectations. Really nice setting and surrounding and very friendly and helpful staff. as the chalets were full we were upgraded to a villa.
The staff was extremely helpful & friendly
Privacy, day bed - views. Pool. Friendliness. No
The peaceful bushy surrounding, with monkeys in the trees. The pool villa's and the lovely moonlight dinners. The breakfast could be improved, just by adding some cheese, ham and salami (for people that do not enjoy hot meals in the morning.) The boiling coffee is really terrible! They should invest in a good coffee machine then the resort would be "perfect".
The hotel was among the pictureque rice fields and forests, away from the main tourist area - very quiet and relaxing. Our unit had it's own garden with a little hut with thatched roof in it. We saw lots of stars in the clear night and monkeys in the trees above the rice fields in the morning. The hotel has beautiful main garden, pool area, temple, paths to village, etc. The drive from/to the airport, nusa dua and kuta was 1hr-1 1/2 hr depending on the time of the day. If you prefer the bustling tourist scenaries and spa hopping, Ubud area may be bit far.
Only the staff The location was very far from Ubud center and the hotel is difficult to reach if you drive by your own car.
Good breakfasts, nice room, friendly staff and a decent pool area. Shuttle was quality as well as they picked u up wherever you wanted as long as it wasn't later than 10:30pm. Good place to relax amongst the rice paddies! Location was way out of Ubud. It is very misleading that they consider themselves to be an Ubud adress.
Excellent hotel. Beautiful views over rice fields and rural enviroment. Staff are excellent and very helpful.
I liked the atmosphere of rest and serenity, the staff was helpful and spoke english well based on the website I assumed the view would have been better and I expected a bath in the bathroom, not the dipping pool outside
Very quiet location with magnificent scenery from all around the hotel. Great service and free shuttle on request to and from the hotel to UBUD. Excellent advice wtih regard to purchasing of art and woodcarvings. Owner of hotel took us out free of charge and guided us with regard to price negotiations and save us heaps. Staff very informative about culture and local customs.
The villa and wider facilities of the hotel were nicely laid out and clearly a lot of care was taken in the aesthetics of design and decor. It was very well integrated into its environment and enjoyed a peaceful location whilst not being too remote. The range of meals was limited and not that inspired (for my tastes, perhaps not for others). However, I thought that the food was cooked and presented well.
the scene is incredibly picturesque!! romantic, got free upgrade to villa(pool) 11pm all closed :P so pack your alcohol or wine prior to that
Tranquility, relaxing, comfort, the staff helpful, great place to relax, love the design and the back to nature Resort concept. Beautiful view
The staff welcomed us with a cool towel and drink. The food was incredible. The WiFi was fast and reliable. I loved where the AC was positioned - it didn't blow right onto the bed. The courtyard was beautiful and relaxing. There is a safe in each room. The drinks at the bar were not too good. The bathroom was very small and there was not a place to put the toiletries.
