The hotel was in a good central location Many things we didn't like about this hotel and it was so bad that we decided to end our stay early and pay the excessive cancellation fee. Bathroom was smelly and was very hard to mask the odours, it took 5 mins for the hotwater to warm up and the towels were worn out. Breakfast was inedible, pool was mouldy, deck chairs were broken and staff were not professional and always unavailable.
Nice relaxed atmosphere Just slight confusion over taxi payments
Generous breakfast, nice pool. Room was a little dark. Fridge and stove but no dishes, cooking utensils or cutlery!
Location, staff, pool, beach Beds were uncomfortable, hard to sleep with music blasting from club next door, TV fuzzy and remote half broken, air conditioning doesn't cool off the sleeping loft very well, jacuzzi near pool was gross, some chairs next to the pool were broken and dangerous to sit on
Nice self contained rooms on 2 levels. Close proximity to all taverna's and facilities. Short walk to beach. Pool and area clean but starting to look a bit run down.
Great hotel, albeit a bit smoky for our tastes (but all of Greece is). Could walk to Fira center easily. Room was nice and clean. We stayed in the 4 bed hotel and everyone fit comfortably.
The people who ran the hotel (I believe George Kalfagian and another young lady) were extremely helpful and kind. George drove me to my meeting the first day because I was lost and was late. I had cut short my visit because of travel changes and they allowed me to check out early. The facilities for a quick shower and toilet use after checking out is excellent. I will use this hotel again and will recommend it to friends.
The service is excellent. The owner kindly upgraded our 1x double bedroom and 1x triple bedroom to suite and it was totally amazing! I like the complimentary wine offered and placed nicely on the desk when you stepped into your room. The view was excellent. There is a small path across the mainroad towards the city centre which take less than 10 minutes to reach. However, it is a bit steep for old
the free upgrate to some better rom you cant realax or sit outside of the room or on the pool site because the hotel is locatet in some 180 grad turn from the mainstreat who the nois from cars and motorbikes gos 24 hours. If you have wet feets the floor get dirt marks because of the dust from the trafik
They upgraded us to a suite with no charge, since it was our honeymoon. The room was nice and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good, and the complimentary bottle of wine as a welcome was very appreciated.
The hotel was very good for the price. The pool was good and it was only a short walk to the centre of Oia. The staff were very friendly and even came and picked us up when we couldn't find the hotel. Breakfast was not included in the price. There was not map for the hotel on the website so it was difficult to find the hotel when we got there.
Staff, comfortable room, breakfast. It was on the main road. Noisy.
The staff are very nice. The location is ok, even though we must say it's quite noisy as near busy street and they have very thin wall, but it's fine for us.
We enjoyed our stay at Amerisa Suites, although we requested a room with a view, it actually faced a back street. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, even if we weren't in it much. Breakfast was enough and the gentleman who served the breakfast, showed us to our room and seemed to do everything else was very helpful. We hired a 4 wheel motorbike from the hotel but in retrospect, we would have done it ourselves to get a newer, better bike. The brochure said they supplied the room with a bottle of water daily but they didn't. we hired a motor bike from here and although it got us around, we could've got a better one ourselves.
Amerisa Suites was amazing. Our favorite place. Petros picked us up from the ferry and was incredibly nice and helpful. We had some problems booking a future ferry ride, and he helped us get through the situation. George from the front desk was extremely accommodating, and answered any question we ever had. There was free internet at the hotel as well. We were upgraded to a honeymoon suite with a private hottub, balcony and swimming pool at no extra charge!
Hard to beat for the price point. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Highlights: 1) The staff: Never saw anyone at the hotel who WASN'T smiling. They went above and beyond to provide relevant and useful advice, arrange any excursions, and improve the stay. 2) The facilities: The common areas were beautiful, the room was spacious and comfortable. 3) The convenient location: The hotel is located across from a couple shops (including a grocery store) and just down the street from the nightlife and tourist attractions- without being so close that you have to hear the bass of the clubs all night (unless you are into that!) Santorini is renowned for its panoramic views of the beach- this location does not provide that. Also, the rooms are not sound proof so if you are a light sleeper it could be an issue.
The personal service was wonderful. The fellow that works there even carried one of our bags up all the stairs to the street level...unexpected assistance that was greatly appreciated, thank you :)) The view was to die for and the sunsets were amazing. We had a great balcony and could even use the wifi outside!! One friendly suggestion - perhaps a longer shower curtain or higher shower surround to prevent water all over floor.
when we complained see the below we got upgarded to a lovely hotel. Except we had to stay one more night in Athina we were underneath the breakfast terrace and everytime someone moved a chair to sit down it would be noisy in our room. We were next to the pool and when the filters were turned on in the morning it had a loud humming noise in our room. The bed was very old and everytime one of us moved it was squeak. Because of the above it was not worth the price
Very good location, nice pool area and terraces, excellent staff, good with fridge in the room and the possibility to bring your own drinks outside. Rooms are more 3 star standard but the outdoor hotel area is very nice which compensate.
Location is great Bathroom toilets are in a real tight space Beautiful location, excruciating walk
The view was amazing! The staff was very helpful. The beds are uncomfortable.
The views, the wonderful staff and the breakfast served on the balcony every morning . Great for couples None
The free rental car (even if beat-up), the computer in room with free internet, the ride from and to ferry/airport, the pool, the kitchen well equipped. Nice loft. Located in the countryside, you need a car for shopping/beach. The bed was very noisy.
The location is very good into the centre of Perissa, beaches and bus stops to get to fira. Our room was nice and spacious with a balcony and a view to the sea. We could not fault the accommodation. The man at the representative office was very helpful. We felt the hotel breakfast was not great and the girl representing the hotel was not very proffessional. We had expected it to be a family run hotel which it is not.
Lovely villa, nice pool, clean, bright colours The breakfast was served in a bar in the village. Terrible coffee and not very comfortable. Food ok.
The place is very nice and typical . We really feel like home in this place where the envirronement is magic and the people working there are friendly and helpfull. we would do the same choice if we had to go there. certainly not every thing was perfect
Apartment is very good with nice swimming pool, also one free rental car during your stay at Villa The Birds, rooms are cleaned everyday. Easy to go to beach and mian street,
The location was good and not too far from the beach.Small but nice pool.Large rooms and outside areas. The internet was handy. The transfers to the airport.Free air conditioning and free car.Very good value for money. Rooms cleaned every day and clean towels every day. Lack of contact with the owners. We only saw the cleaner. We missed the personel touch that you normally get in Greece.
Room was pleasant, with bedrooms on two levels. Easy access to beach, resturants and mountains for hiking. The furnishings were a bit skimpy. It was cold and extra blankets were not provided.
cleanliness and location
Everything was perfect, very beautiful and comfortable It is a little bit difficult to find by your own, you need to call them and they'll pick you up.
We are a family of 4.Two girls aged 15 and 17... The apt had 2 bedrooms and came with a computer in the room, with free internet access.Needless to say, the girls were thrilled to bits! Additionally, we were not aware that the room rate included the use of a car during our stay. Excellent stay, Highly recommend!
Meget venligt personale. Tæt på Fira bymidte, god pool - men nogen trafikstøj. Bar..
Good pool with shade during the day. Close to beach and restaurants. AC could be better in the room.
Location near beach price: too expensive during high season (Veggera is a 3-star-type hotel); food was so so; but nice restaurant choices nearby
It is 50 meters from the beach. There is lot of restaurants and bars close to the hotel. The girl working at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast next to the beach is good. The beach close to the hotel is made of pebbles. It is a bit far from the port but fairly easy to find the hotel.
Location, the villa's exterior, landscaping This hotel is not a 4 star hotel. At best, it's 2 and a half. Rooms are very, very basic, plain, poorly decorated, furniture is extremely cheap and in bad condition (rusty), no room service, not even bellboys, in general, staff didn't want to do anything for us.
Nice room, proximity to beach The hotel reception staff permantly trying to rip you off. Not very helpful unless you want to get cash from them with a 3% charge or wash your clothes at 3€ per item. Tried to put us in an inferior room
The grounds were beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful. The store was well stocked. The meals in the restaraunt were very good. The drinks at the bar were the best prices I found on the island. The bath tub was great. Only one on my trip. The bed and the pillows were unbelievably hard. The most uncomfortable of my trip.
very nice place, reasonable price, across the road from the beach
Great location, right next to the beach Quite expensive for what didn't feel like a 4 star hotel.
Friendly and helpfull staff at the reception desk. Nice clean room and bathroom. Great location. Would have expected beach parasols to be free of charge for hotel residents.
good value for money breakfast is poor - bathroom very difficult to deal with - everything was soaked in a minute....
The pool was kind of nice. Roy in the reception area was a doll and helpful. Where do I start? First, this is NOT a typical 4 star hotel! More of a 2 star hotel. Rooms are small and cheap. TV's don't show many channels (5? all in greek) and was probably manifactured in the mid 80s. Balcony in the appartments was small and everybody could see in. Clotheshangers were probably find on a dumpster somewhere (different colors and cheap). WC area was tiny!
Large poolarea, with a good poolbar menu. Small room, no fresh water, no light on bathroom.
Great hotel, Friendly and helpful staff especially the girls on reception and pool-side bar. Nice big pool, pool-side bar had great food and rooms were spotlessly clean.
Cleanliness of the room and hotel in general, very welcome staff, bread and honey for the breakfast, distance to the beach and to the bus stop. If you stay there for a long time be prepared to the same breakfast.
Family owned hotel. great service. nice people. rooms were big n clean and bathroom relatively large. less than 5 min walk to perissa beach. a number of shops and restaurants available beachside. simple breakfast. car/bike rental shops located nearby (recommended). Bus stop is less than 5 minutes away but buses take about 15-30 minutes to arrive and the bus to Fira takes 30-45 minutes.. private transportation is better. we will be staying here again on our next visit to santorini. All was good. nothing bad.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was HUGE, espcially for the price.
I appreciated the spaciousness and good taste in the art and furnishings. It was lovely, laid back, quite elegant in fact. I would happily return. Our toilet did not work right but it was fixed promptly so it was no big deal. I had absolutely no complaints.
Very nice family-run hotel. tidy and beautiful. totally feel like at home. The location is excellent if you want to go the beach. need travel to FIra and OIA
It is a recommended hotel. Clean room and hospitality. It accepted gently though a lot of blunders were done. I really appreciate your kindness. I want to go in the future.
The manager (owner?) was wonderful...he picked us up at the bus stop in Perissa and even dropped us off on our way back to Fira. Our room was spacious, bright and very clean...we even had a bath tub, which was a treat after adventuring around the continent. The hotel is just behind Perissa's main strip, which made for a short walk to the beach and a quiet and relaxing evening. All in all, a fantastic place to stay.
Good hospitality of the owners. The atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing, spatial. Convenient for the Perissa beach.
We were a group of 8 and all agreed that the staff was excellent. They were helpful, accommodating, chearful and always there to serve. It was also nice to have them provide information about Santorini as needed. The facility was very clean and quite nice. The rooms were nice and the common areas had awesome views of the surrounding mountains. Great Stay! Highly recommended Some street noise
We were welcomed into a lovely spotless Home. The family there do anything to make you feel comfortable. The room was huge with a Balcony, comfortable beds, refrigerator and large bathroom. Clean sheets and towels daily.Air con good. Breakfast very basic but adequate. No swimming pool. We were very happy there and would go again. I cannot think of anything!
the palce is veautiful and nera the seaside, the staff is very kind and the swimming pool is very clean, it is an heaven on heart!
Perfect location, tucked away from the busy roads but still very close to restaurants and the beach. Villas are really quiet which we loved. Swimming pool is small but big enough for a good splash. There is lots of shadow around so no need to burn. Villa cleaned every day by a very friendly lady. Villas are basic but sufficient, so no, there are no real negative points
Lovely setting at top of resort. Apartments a little dated bit still very nice. Pool just a bit too small for me, though my wife loved it. George the owner is as available as you want him to be and when you do talk to him is a good guide for the island.
The staff. We didn't like the keysystem. The aircondition worked only when the key was in the keyholder. At night, in case of emergency, you would not be able to open your door since everything goes dark when you remove the key to open the door. The system should have some kind of delay function as other hotels have.
The best thing is the location on the beach.
The situation (quiet but near everything), the swimmingpool, nice people and a spacious room with kitchen. The only thing we can think of is the smell of the toilets because of the water.
the bed was really uncomfortable, the pillows were too hard. the room was too small and the bathroom tiny, with no curtain in the shower.
the staff was very kind and the postion of this hotel is good.
The kindness of the members of the staff Nothing in particular
The Staff was very helpful, friendly and uncomplicated. The room was nice and it was excellent to have a pool for a wake up swim in the morning. The beach is very close, only 300m, as well as supermarket, bakery, travel agency, bus stop and internet café. no
Very neat hotel, clean & complete rooms. Nice swimming pool. There was a good welcome from the nice owner of the hotel. She told everything we needed to know for our stay and was always available to answer any questions. Quiet enviroment but everything is on walking distance. No breakfast available at the hotel, but a very good 24h bakery in 100m!
Quiet environment, beach on walking distance. Car parking. Excellent swimming pool. Hotel staff was very polite.
wonderful staff, perfect location, nice pool and very clean rooms. I will go back for sure to Villa Valvis and I recommend it to everyone. I felt home. Ciao Marina!!
I liked the location. Villa Valvis was located next to the best beach on the island, in my opinon. It was within walking distance to the beach, to a delicious and cheap 24-hour bakery, two markets, and numerous beach- front restaurants (of which we highly recommend Ntomatina). I liked the swimming pool, and the style of the building. I liked the hotel-manager who was always there and answered all of our questions. It was a great price, too! We were able to see the rest of the island via a rented atv for only 7 Euros a day. It was nice that the hotel had wifi, but it only worked out by the pool, not in the rooms. The bathroom had an odor problem - I think because of the drainage. It wasn't unbearable, but the room always smelled a bit bad because of it. The air conditioning was in a bad location, blowing over the bed as we were sleeping...so we were either too cold, in which case we'd turn it off, and then we'd wake up from being too hot, and have to turn it on again. (better than no Air Conditioning, though!). There was no telephone in the room. Also, we left our camera on the bed one morning, and discovered it missing after the maid had cleaned the room. We searched around, and asked the manager for help, and found the camera in the pile of sheets ready to be washed - it would have been ruined had we not noticed in time!
Transportation to the port is difficult
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great.
Breakfast, pool and staff service
Excellent, convenient location with fitness center... We arrived just days before the hotel was closing for the season and that's exactly how it felt--like it was closing down.
The beauty of both the room (including its balcony) and the lobby and breakfast area. I liked everything.
Staff was very helpful in providing information about local attractions and transportation. Conveniently located in Fira and was within very easy walking distance to the bus station. Breakfast provided a good selection and varied daily.
We loved this hotel. I was worried a bit that it would be a typical business hotel (based on pictures from internet) but it has been recently renovated and it was great. It is totally beautiful butique hotel, in a great location to all the bars, clubs, restaurants, bus station (so we could easily reach all locations and we don't like to walk). We loved it and would stay there again. There was nothing that we did not like about this hotel. Staff was great both at reception, bars, pools and otherwise. The hotel was quite but very close to all the action. Just perfect. So the best of both worlds. We were a group of girls and we really enjoyed it. Drinks & food at the hotel are also delicious. It is a 5 star hotel.
very good location and rooms are good and clean. friendly staff
Good location, staff were friendly, rooms were lovely and clean.
THe location. The staff was rude and the floor in our room was dirty.
Staff was very friendly. Very close to town. Nice balcony. Bed was too hard. Pool was freezing!
Central location: It is close to the bus depo and town centre but very quiet (at least in our room during our stay). Convenience: There is a supermarket across the street from the hotel, it is really important to have bottled water in large quantity all the time in Santorini, because the tap water is not recommended for drinking. Size of the room: Our room is large enough even by North American standards. Breakfast room: It is large and bright by the swimming pool. You can also sit under the embrellas of the pool. Not enough furniture. There's a desk plus two small night tables, this is all the furnitures in our room besides the beds and the luggage rack. Like many european hotels, the bathroom is very small.
The room was large and spotlessly clean, with a good sized fridge. The shower was excellent and did not (unusual in Greece) soak the entire bathroom. The staff were absolutely charming. All of them....This hotel is excellent value for money..... I have stayed in the same area at hotels that are double the price and Blue Palace Bay is just as good
very friendly and helpfull staff, everything is new = nice. And it is a rather small hotel, with a familly feeling... famillies should be aware that the beach is not child friendly, bvut you would not find that anywhere on Santorino
The staff were very friendly the room was great and it was right on the beach.
the people were so nice to us they treated us like royalty, it was a perfect location and a fun place
Close proximity to the beach. The breakfast was low quality and served until only 10am, which is very early considering that most visitors may be bar crawling the night before.
the staff was excellent
The pool is fine Breakfast was rather poor
I liked the fact that the hotel was on the beach, and that the room had air conditioning. The breakfast was terrible, and there was very little choice, one of my eggs had 8 ants in one day!! The member of staff told us that we had a room with a sea view, but we actually had a view of a building site! The staff tried to be polite, but the hotel was mainly run by two boys, one was 15 and the other 16!! Also we had asked them to collect us from the airport, but there was no one there on arrival so the holiday did not start very well!
Absolutely wonderful experience with the hotel and its staff - truly recommend to everyone who doens't need to be in the center of wild touristic whirlpool, but simply enjoys beach and relaxing away from the crowd. Very good equipped beach, drinks are brought right to your sunlounge ))) Many interesting places of Santorini can be reached by the bus, car or quad (our choice, and very much fun!). absolutely nothing
Theoxenia hotel is located right in the heart of the fira city. It is amongst the restaurants and the hustle and bustle of the town can be felt all the time. The amazing caldera view from the terrace is spectacular. The breakfast that was served every morning was amazing as well. The hotel offers all that is needed and offers great value. Although, the hotel does not have a pool, but you can use its sister hotel, Aressana, for this purpose. The pool at Aressana is quite fascinating and very relaxing. The accessibility to all the shops and the bus station, as well as the taxi station, was crucial to us, as is to any vacation. For that Theoxenia offers the best. The bus station is 2 minutes away as well as the taxi stand. The reception is not 24 hours and at times you have to wait a little to speak to the staff. Usually that is not needed as the rooms have everything that you need.
The location of the hotel in the centre of Fira is excellent. The fact that the hotel has wifi is great as well. The hotel is located on the main street that runs along the caldera, but because it is on the other side of the street, the lower floor rooms don't have sea view. The man behind the counter was not very welcoming. He was trying to be polite but it didn't come naturally to him. I found he was stressed and that he created an uncomfortable atmosphere instead of a relaxed environment.
breakfast was great, hotel staff very friendly and accomodating The bathtub was leaking very badly, however staff was aware and provided several extra towels to help with the leak.
Breakfast on the terrace Lots of stairs
We really enjoyed breakfast served in our room in the morning. I loved the fact that the Hotel stays open in the winter and they had the central heating on, since the nights we stayed there (we had to stay one more night on the island) was rainy and bit cold. The location is on the heart of Fira, by the cliffside with sunset views. I did not really like the fact that the balconies had old-warn out chairs, but they said they are ready for new one's for next summer. Nice, small and cosy B'nB, perect for a few days stay. Thank you Chris for your attendance and hospitality. We had to wait for couple of hours to have shower one day since the city hall had to do maintainanca in some central water pipes. The hotel's back up system had only hot water running, so we had to wait for the cold water to balance.
good location, good continental breakfast even for our EUR180 / night without seaview, not good value of money.
The location is very convenient to tour around the Fira town. The shared porch is an ideal place to watch a sunset falling beind the vaolcano. The breakfast was enjoyable. But if would have been perfect if some fruits were offered. The bathroom faucet was shaking. I don't understand why the hotel staff couldn't find a better time to fix it but wait until the afternoon when we have to stay in the room for friends to visit us.
The location is convenient and good to enjoy the sunset.
The location! But please ask for the Caldera view. The breakfast delivered in the room. Access to their luxury partner hotel Arressana! Way too expensive for the quality of the room. No renovation for the last 20 years...the bathroom was horrible.
