The quiet setting and homely atmosphere make this a relaxing place to stay; the staff from the directors to the gardeners were all both helpful and friendly. It would be helpful if themeals were priced so that one knew how much the dish (or the course) cost.
High quality personal service. Great attention to detail. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and quiet. Excellent transportation service included.
The pool, the staff, the garden, the room. It is a beautiful place to stay and probably our the best of our trip. The price of dinner in the hotel was not clear and turned out to be quite expensive (over £60 for one starter, two chicken main courses & a bottle of water) However, the food was excellent.
Fabulous hotel. Genuninely nice, helpful and happy staff. Beautiful location and surroundings. Very comfortable, spacious, modern rooms. Loved the relaxed jazz music by the pool. Exactly what we wanted from a honeymoon hotel. Food and drink was seriously overpriced. Slightly too far out from Marrakech - ended up spending a lot of money on taxis. The odd loose and/or chipped tile by the pool with a lack of lighting at night slightly dangerous. We noticed some guests didn't like the idea of cats wandering around although it didn't bother us.
Put all my efforts into doing as little as possible, which this hotel is perfect for! Amazing sun loungers that were dotted all around the hotel grounds, so if you wanted to get away from people its perfect. Not the best base for exploring Marrakech as it is located some way out from the City centre. But lovely as a retreat from it all. As the hotel is located miles from anywhere, it could do with an area to be able to purchase books, magazines and refreshments (not through room service).
All the attention and the confort
Well located, this smaller hotel will not attract the big crowds. Personnel very friendly. This is not a 5 star hotel were you can eat and enjoy a la carte food or spa treatments. You can not order a la carte if not reserved your food 12 or 24 hours in advance and your spa treatments if not in package is costing a fortune. Best to take a journey with food included (and its not high cuisine) than doing like us only suit facility. You will end up eating the same every evening. Attention ! for room service , they will charge you 5 euro per person (yes even for 2 glasses) although wrongly mentioned in their room booklet at + 5 euro per room.
Best feature of this hotel is the quiet and spacious area this hotel offers. The small number of rooms and the huge available area really creates a relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Hanging around on the pool and relaxing some days can be done perfectly well here. Improvement potential is definitely existing in the relation of price and offered service of the restaurants. Prices for drinks and dinner / lunch are really too high. The abroad location of the hotel (>20 minutes taxi ride from city center) leads to expensive taxi rides if you are not with your own car.
Well appointed, spacious room. Big swimming pool with elegant poolside furniture. Felt we were being held to ransom! Meals were astronomically expensive and poor, and only way to get away was by taxi as location is very isolated. Breakfast was identical (and dull) each day- would have expected a buffet at hotel like this. Lunch- no apparent choice and again identical 3 out of 4 days. After dinner on first night kept well away- good restaurants in city centre much better and cheaper, and entertaining! Felt we were being exploited because hotel was nearly empty. Wish we had stayed at a riad in city centre.
The best thing is the staff. The hotel is beautiful but what made it a wonderful experience is the way the staff makes you feel special.
Dar Ilham is a little haven of tranquility, a perfect place to relax and let the world take a few spins. It gives you some time out, after the hussle and bussle of the Medina. The staff are very genuine, obliging and so helpful. They all have a very good grasp of English and to be honest it put me to shame. Truly lovely kind respectful people, from front desk to the service staff. Mohammed on reception was extremely helpful, especially with the booking of taxi's, and always willing to answer any queries, and not making it look like it was a chore. He also made sure we got something to eat the night we arrived, as it was quite late. I can recommend the food, it is delicious, worth spending the night in for. Totally recommend this place. The mattress on my bed, it was far too hard for me, but worth noting that I do suffer with back problems.
This hotel is too far from Marrakech! 15km!.(taxi charge 100 dh!,and it located in the poor and v old village. and the way to that hotel is .non-paved. bad raod s. restaurant kitchen was not clean. bad. Hotel is excellent, very difficult to find, make sure you ask the hotel to arrange a taxi pick up for you as local taxi drivers will get lost!
Fantastic Location as a get-away, French ability needs to be good but get by with English. Will stay again!
Hakim and the staff at Terra Mia especially Monsieur Lahcin were extremely friendly and helpful. The private pavilions and the main Riad are gorgeous and spotlessly clean and the grounds are heavenly, filled with beautiful flowers and trees. Breakfast is served by a pool as you look out over the mountains and gardens. Day trips are arranged and a shuttle takes you into town and the airport. We loved Terra Mia and hope to return. Absolutely nothing.
