The Osbourne has a great location looking out onto the sea. It is a very grand looking building and the rooms are a decent size and very comfortable.
nice clean hotel, very friendly staff, nice size bedroom, good food, lovely grounds and veiws. Worst thing about hotel was distance from centre, although it is walkable
restaurant staff in the evening were excellent and our meal very good. terrace bar staff were not as good rooms very small and walls like having cardboard between you and your neighbours. not good enough for this rating of hotel
The classic architecture of the building the leisure facilities were a bit disappointing
Location, very quiet and picturesque Lack of room service meals for late arrivals, difficult to park when hotel is busy
the staff were fabulous. the location & views from the hotel are outstanding we could not have asked for anything better
Locatiion. Quality of the staff.
I liked the design and the facilities. NA
Traditional seaside hotel in spectacular slightly out of town location at the heart of a beautiful Regency crescent
Everything was very lovely about the hotel and made me feel like on holiday instead of a business trip. Only the cardio eqiup in the gym needs to be updated.
if you dont like being dictated to dont stay in thishotel, nice location but over priced the pedantic staff
Very well looked after. quiet and well furnished.
how friendly and geniually nice the owners are they make you really welcome ,will recomend to friends and definatly go back none
warm welcome, polite and helpful staff, very clean hotel. n/a
Hosts, decor, cleanliness and breakfast were first class Chris and \Robert were very helpful in recommending and booking our resturant. Perhaps the only drawback was that there was no relaxing chair in the room but there again there was very little room for it and it didn't cause a problem. There was nothing that we didn' like.
Friendly, welcoming staff. Good selection of relevant local information available.
nice and clean could do with a reception office
We loved absolutely everything about Haytor and will recommend it to our friends. The walk up the hill back to the hotel but that was only because my husband is 87 and found it a bit steep.
Made to feel welcome on booking in and asked daily if service was OK.Breakfast was excellent-plenty of choice. Location excellent and parking very good.
no ventilation in the bathroom
The hotel was beautiful and elegant, it was the only hotel I can say I have stayed at and been made to feel absolutely number one waited on hand and foot. Amazing experience.
Everything, the location and especially the the staff. The welcome by the owner was a pleasent surprise in one of the best surroundings ever. A perfect few days.
The hotel owners (and staff) were all incredibly helpful and it is a clean and well-run establishment. Would have no hesitation recommending to others. Excellent stay.
staff were outstandingly friendly & very welcoming! Room & ensuite immaculate. A menu for breakfast?! Bagels with smoked salmon & scrambled egg - delicious! a bit out of town, 10 minutes uphill walk, not for the unfit!
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. the room was spacious, clean and well decorated.
That you were treated as an individual, and made to feel very welcome. The hotel has a very relaxing and tranquil atmosphere about it. The decor very beautiful. But mostly i enjoyed sitting listening to Craigh play the piano whilst i had my breakfast.
Excellent Staff, service and breakfast, very clean throughout Was expecting a slightly larger room
A warm welcome from the owner, Craig, started off a very enjoyable stay. Beautiful room, excellent breakfast and a good location, 10 minute walk from town centre.
The beautiful surrounds in the rooms, and all the furniture and fittings.
Booked for one night as down in Torquay for work, along with another colleague. Neither of us had stayed at this hotel, found it on the internet and looked pretty reasonable. Great staff, really friendly, nice large room with a large bathroom and good shower. Ended up having dinner in the hotel, £15 extra each as hadn't pre-booked but for three courses and coffee was good value and great food. Really good location as well as only 10 minutes down to the town and harbour. Definitely book this hotel again when next in Torquay. Nothing, all pretty good.
Freindliness of the staff and the quality of the food Nothing, it was all good
excellent food and service and a nice warm hotel.
We had a few problems and the staff were excellent at sorting them out. Very pleasant, friendly and accomodating. Booking details were incorrect. The room we were originally given was supposed to be a superior but fell short of that in my opinion. Hotel is under new management and it appears that work has started on the public areas but attention could definitely be given to the bedrooms we were shown.
Great location - 5 minutes walk to the harbour, lovely building and pleasant room, great atmosphere and lovely staff. Food was really good, entertainment was a nice extra and all the staff were really friendly. Really good value for money. Bit of a hill back up from the harbour but not that bad.
Near to the town centre. Room very dissapointing and shabby. Bathroom in need of repair, open pipework, broke toilet roll holder and general paintwork and decoration needed.
This Guest House /bb was absolutely fabulous. We were only there for one night but we never wanted to leave. The Bedroom was luxurious and had everything you could need in it. Hairdryer, Bathrobes, soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, Huge bath towels for when you manage to drag yourself out of the brilliant shower,Tea/coffee (with fresh milk in a chiller in the corridor along with cookies and muffins to help yourself to). Iron and ironing board, dab radio, tv. You only need to turn up with your clothes!! The breakfast was excellent with a massive choice of juices, smoothies, yogurts, pastries, cereals etc etc and then your cooked breakfast. Would I reccomend the The Somerfield??? Yes - without hesitation!!! Didn't come across anything I would change or was not happy with.
Very relaxed atmosphere - great staff quite small rooms but very nice
Cleanliness of rooms are to a very high standard. Choice of breakfast is very good. Staff are friendley and informative of location. No problem with parking like some places in this area. We will return to this venue again soon. No
The way you were made welcome. The rooms were very good. The breakfast was very plentiful and very tasty. The whole experience was as good as it gets. Even a 5 star hotel would go a long way to beat this.. The management made it feel like your own home.
The very high quality decor and fittings in the room
Everything was perfect the personel service really pleasant best accommodation ive stayed in for along time..
Friendley and helpful staff , cleanliness of the rooms. n/a
Attention to detail
Comfortable and cosy room, excellent service (very helpful and with a smile, always), cleanliness and good decor. Plus, it was very close to the beach (a minute's walk!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the place to anyone going there. The room is a bit small, but the decor, cleanliness and the facilities more than make up for it!
Location, standard of hotel No restaraunt available especially being a Bank Holiday week end
Within easy reach of the town, friendly staff, and very clean room/bathroom
clean, tidy and in a reasonable location to visit places of interest It is some distance from the town and restaurants which meant taking the car everywhere
quality of the hotel the tv in the room was tiny and the reception on the tv was very poor
Very friendly welcome to a clean and quiet hotel. great breakfast and a good location for the beach and town centre alike. Not a moan but the double bed wasnt quite big enough but the room was still very nice.
The hotel was friendly and welcoming, the room was so homely, the food was nice and the location perfect for a walk to the beach or a cheap cab to the harbour. Literally had everything i wanted for my stay. nothing at all!
Friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly and excellent vfm for an overnight stay
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent choice for breakfast. Quiet location. A nice downhill walk into Torquay centre - but a bit harder coming back !! We would certainly stay there again.
Room was extremely cold and very uncomfortable with a non working tv.
Was over the moon with the location, literally a stones throw from the harbour and the right end of town for all of the shops, pubs and restaurants. The whole place was spotlessly clean and modern, the owners tended to our every need but were at the same time non intrusive. The breakfast was top class and certainly good value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone stopping over in Torquay, be it a day or a week.
The owners were very friendly and made us feel welcome.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel barton, there was a warm welcome from Andrew when we arrived. The room we had was spacious & very clean. The location was excellent as it is just a short walk to the harbour and shops, will definately stay again. P. S. excellent breakfast but make sure you are hungry! Nothing
very friendly, clean and extremely good value for money I have no complaints
Great location, v. nice breakfast, clean & comfortable.
We really enjoyed how close it is to the harbour and town. The whole hotel is very clean and tidy. We would have liked the breakfast times to be longer. Open two hours a day, instead of one.
Superb hospitality and service. Recommend to all.
Kindly staff, hearty breakfast stairs to access the hotel with heavy luggage.
An excellent cooked breakfast was served in the morning. The room was very clean and comfortable, Andy the owner was friendly, helpful and efficient. On the whole, a really nice hotel which I would heartily recommend. Nothing at all.
very clean nothing
Staff very attentive, polite and friendly. Great breakfast and rooms. Too few parking spaces.
The owners were very friendly and made our stay very pleasurable. Breakfast was excellent. Only 5 minutes walk to the harbour and shops. Clean and comfortable. Definately go back again.
the breackfast was great, would stay there again but make sure i stayed in diffirent room the room was small and had to walk accross the landing to the toilet and shower,it dose state they are sepraite but didnt see that
The owner of the Hotel was very friendly and helpful, he made our stay feel very warm. The hotel has a 'homely' touch to it and it is in a lovely old building. Breakfast was excellent and he especially catered for vegetairians which was a bonus. I would definatley stay again as our short break to torquay was not long enough really. It was also a quiet hotel with parking space. In fact he had reserved a spot for me and greeted me in person when i arrived. The road is a one way road so not much traffic and its less than a 10 minute walk down to the harbour and shopping area. Was a thumbs up all round. :)
Staff very friendly. Also welcoming to our dog. This was important, as we were looking for a dog friendly hotel. We only stayed one night as we were visiting a sick friend in Devon.
Owners very friendly, bar area very quaint but reasonably priced, Good English breakfast Parking was very difficult. Family room was made up of Bunk bed with a double underneath which had a really bad uncomfortably thin matress ontop. Smallest en-suit made dressing hard. Very hot day but no fans provided in rooms and window would only open tiny way.
We had a fantastic stay at the hotel, breakfast was a typical full English breakfast, a very nice walk to the harbour, would definitely go back - perfect for a family break ...only negative I would say was bed was a little soft
Great mine host, very welcoming and produced a top breakfast quickly and efficiently.A comfortable and good value for money stay.
had a look a round 20 miles
i thought the couple running the hotel were very friendly and light hearted well to be honest i think the breakfast could be improved alot?i didnt like to say because i didnt want to hurt there feelings, the sausages beans and coffee could definatly be improved thats why i only had tea and toast
