The staff was top notch. Breakfast was great every morning. Bar food was also good. Bed was a little uncomfortable. Room was too warm AC was turned off because it was December I assumed. But our room stayed at 78 degrees. Much to hot for good sleeping.
The staff when I spoke with them was helpful and professional. Overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The hotel is relatively new, but kind of on the edge of a good area. Breakfast was good each morning that I was there. Called the hotel several times during my travel to the location due to airline issues. Phone rang as many as 50 times with no one picking up. Same thing happened when I called the front desk from my room. Not sure what the issue was since the staff was always courteous and helpful when I interacted with them in person. Room was only cleaned 2 out of the 4 days that I was there even though I was out of the room from either mid-morning until late night or early morning until dinner each day. Not in the hotel's control, but construction site across the street is very loud. Sleeping in on a weekday not really an option.
School vacation was so great that we came back to D.C. And had to stay here again. The staff super helpful and friendly. Room clean and modern inside. Pool for kids (small) but works and keep everyone happy after lots of waking around National Mall. Quick 10 minute walk to Union Station.
New and clean. Upon leaving, I was placed in what I thought was a metered taxi only to find out it was some private cab (not Uber) demanding twice what I paid for the same trip the night before. Went out of my way to stay at the hilton because of loyalty program only to find out they don't award for bookings made through third parties. Some excuse for a $350 per night stay and they can't award their bogus points worth $3?
Positives: clean room, nice amenities, friendly staff, excellent location (walking distance to Union Station, shops, grocery store etc.). Great value for money. We requested a room with a view and were given a room on the 7th floor, which was nice, except we were facing northeast and there wasn't much too see. It's a trifling issue and didn't affect our stay at all; we still had a great time. Also some minor noise from the trains and roads, but anyone used to city noise won't be too bothered.
The metro was next door Valet was too slow and expensive, bums out front 7/11, nothing to eat in area
Clean, friendly service, quick and easy check-in, and free breakfast. They initially charged me for parking on all three rooms when I only had one car, but they were perfectly willing to change it when I pointed out the mistake. Also, the hallway smelled like smoke which was sort of gross, but the rooms were fine.
Breakfast and shuttle service. Shuttle service could have early afternoon service. Neighborhood was scary.
Safe for the area as it is surrounded by a rod iron fencing around the campus and a manner security station, overall very clean, employees were friendly. Food in Bistro was fresh with a good selection, and staff very accommodating, but a little expensive for the offerings. The grounds were pleasant and spacious. Room was very quiet and could not hear noises in the halls, or from neighbors. It was spacious. The bedding was comfortable and towels thick and felt nice. Great customer service from the front desk as they responded well above and beyond to concern of an item I had left behind with excellent follow through. The room was not stocked appropriately for the number of people staying the in room; the shower needed some repairs on the adjustable bar; totally missing. Made showering awkward to say the least. The price of breakfast was a little high for the area. Should simply build the parking fee structure into the cost of their rooms, given you are certainly not going to park off campus and walk to the hotel.
Price...until it jumped 50% after taxes, fees and parking Staff was exceptionally rude. Eric R. stated I should not have booked through a third party...made it clear that any issues were not his problem as I didn't book directly through hotel. He told me and other guests that if we weren't so cheap we wouldn't have problems with reservation and check in. "Manager" "Vegas" had similar attitude...no customer service whatsoever. This is on a college campus. Parking is $30 in a garage 1/4 mile away from hotel, details not disclosed until check in.
It was close to my destination and check in was easy. Overall there wasn't anything I disliked. There was even a pretty large party in the hotel Saturday night and there wasn't any problems with noise which was suprising.
Bedding was old , heating system kept me up most of night, our room was connected and the door did not completely lock!
everyone was friendly, but i felt as if i had my own privacy.
The people close they really bad and they smokers inside and not taking about regular cigarettes did other one. The guy from the taxi tell me stays in you room all the time don't come outside for nothing I was scared the hole night I didn't sleep I booked for two nights I staying for one night I left in the morning. And I know a lady rent the hotel and she left and sleeps in the airport she was scared this place nothing is the same at photos the you have online
The room was very clean and well kept. The staff h was friendly and courteous. The amenities were getting pretty old. The hotel is in a very bad section of town and was not comforting.
The Refrigerator fit many water bottles? Um, it is difficult to write anything positive about this hotel. Um, don't know where to begin. This hotel is in the middle of no where, next to the railroad. Non-smoking room had a deep, deep cigarette smell. Seemed like someone was smoking in there not too long ago. If it wasn't for me not being able to sleep earlier because of west coast time, you could hear and feel the trains coming and going. The walls are very thin, and you can here anything outside. There are also some people that come by bumping their music so loud, that the room vibrates. This also occurred during the wee hours. So if you are a light sleeper and you want to stay here, good luck. However, this is not the reason why I left. On the first night, I found a bug on the sheets. I wasn't sure if it was a bed bug, because it was the first time I saw that type of bug, so I killed it. While I was sleeping, I woke up because I felt itchy. However, I sometimes get itchy, so I didn't think it was bed bugs yet. After the next night, I woke up and once I was about to leave, I saw a smaller bug on the bed again, so I caught it, but this time when I smashed the bug, blood smeared on the sheets. So, I knew they were bed bugs, and I packed up my stuff, and went to the front desk. I told the manager that I wanted to get a refund for the remaining time there (I had booked for 8 nights). The front desk made it very difficult to receive a refund, and not until my sister yelled at the front desk with a customer waiting did he agree to the refund. He was trying to get us to check out and pay the full amount. So, I spent one day in DC trying to quarantine all my luggage. So if you really have to stay here, you have been warned.
