Lækkert hotel beliggende lige ved de flotte sandklitter i Maspalomas uden for Playa del Inglés. Fra store dele af Santa Monica Suites Hotel har du en flot udsigt over havet. Her bor du i lækre værelser, og vil du forkæle dig selv yderligere, bestiller du et med havudsigt. Hotellet har alt, hvad du har brug for til en afslappende ferie; et indbydende poolområde, restauranter, barer og motionsrum, hvis du gerne vil træne. Santa Monica Suites Hotel ligger desuden i nærheden af shoppingcentret Cita og den fine strandpromenade, der løber hele vejen til San Agustin. Hotellet er velegnet til voksne, der rejser uden børn. Vi kan dog ikke garantere, at hotellet er helt børnefrit.

Fordele: The hotel, the staffing, the breakfast and the location of it was according to the expectations. The dimmensions of the room and be near the beach was amazing. Close to the hotel are enough parking space. I have been there two times and I am sure that in my next visit I will be there.

Fordele: The hotel Aesthetically looks lovely…however on this site and the other site that advises about trips, this hotel should be AMAZING – and from our point of view – it was just – ok. I don’t believe I paid the best price – and that may well have effected my perceptions as well. I understand that hotels work on dynamic rate – ie – the less space they have – the more the room price increases….. In this case – I paid approx. £250 a night. For a 10 night stay – that is quite a lot of money for room only. If the room was priced at £150 a night – I would have felt much more comfortable about it.
Ulemper: The cleaners here get great reviews – however – I would personally say our room cleaning was a 7 out of 10. There were areas missed – and glasses not always washed. My “sea view room” – don’t forget - £250 a night – was behind a rather large palm tree. Which – obscured the view somewhat. It wasn’t what I imagined it would be to be honest.

Fordele: Fabulous hotel, the setting is amazing, a true oasis in the dunes, absolutely perfect for a relaxing break. Big pool, plenty of loungers, lovely luxurious rooms with excellent sea views over the dunes - love the sofas. Breakfast is fantastic, huge variety, lovely juices and cava :) The nearby shops (go out the beach gate and turn left) are standard cheapish beach resort fare but make a good change from the very stylish hotel and if you like to surf or kite surf the schools are a short walk along the beach. If you want a little more class a £5 taxi will get you to the sunset cafe, hotels and restaurants at Meloneras. Highly recommended.
Ulemper: Would prefer bigger towels changed less frequently. Robes also very small, I would post a picture but it would be indecent :p Tea making facilities in room would be good. Poolside food could be improved, it's okay in a pinch but not the same standard as breakfast.

Fordele: Great garden with bar and pool area. nice spacious room. Location is good- next to promenade. Great place to watch sunrise. Staff is really polite. I’ve never before been guided to my room after check-in. Food was great (stayed for two nights).
Ulemper: No parking available, canalization smell in room when doors and windows were closed, extremely soft mattress for sleeping and maybe a bit noisy, you may be disturbed by passing traffic or people who cross corrior or walk upstairs. Restaurant area felt bit like conveyor though service was great! Evening shows are suitable for older people...

Fordele: Staff and botanical garden is where this hotel excels. Staff(that includes restaurant, cleaning ladies, pool bar, reception) would go above and beyond to meet your needs, and always with a smile. Garden and pool are beautiful and something hotels in Maspalomas generally lack. Would definitely visit again.
Ulemper: Can't think of anything apart from the lack of ramp to the pool, I had to carry my son's pram down the stairs every time we go to the pool/pool bar.

Ulemper: The shower made the bathroom floor very wet, which seemed quite dangerous. The curtain did not stop the water going outside the shower onto the bathroom floor, no matter how the showerhead was angled.

Fordele: The animation team was excellent particularly the blonde girl (forgot her name) who was extremely good at engaging an audience, was always very nice and friendly to my 81 year old mother, myself and people of all ages. She also played very good table tennis :) Otherwise the meals were very nice and the staff generally very friendly, welcoming and pleasant. My mother loved the garden.
Ulemper: I can't fault the hotel. The only problem was the attitude of some of the elderly German travellers about their sunbeds. One even got angry just because someone wanted to lie on the free sunbed next to her. It must be difficult for the hotel to deal with such awkward guests.

Fordele: A real Oasis in an otherwise unremarkable built up area of town. Wonderfully clean, incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast each day. We couldn’t fault our stay and having a super clean bathroom and bedroom was much appreciated. In fact the staff go a long way to make sure every part of the hotel complex is super clean. The large pool was very popular with our 12 year old. The tropical gardens were also gorgeous making such a difference to the overall ambience.
Ulemper: Nothing really. We had a fifth floor room overlooking the pool. If I was bring super critical I would have preferred the in-room A/C to be controllable and the room safe should be free to use. You need to be out quite early to get decent poolside loungers.

We hope to be back next year.... Thanks to Tracy who welcomed us and gave us all the info we needed and the maid was meticulous in her cleaning duties every day..

Fordele: The accomodation has everything you need. It is spot on clean and we immediately felt at home. The living room is spacious enough and the couches are very comfortable. The kitchen has a dish washer, combi-oven, fridge, freezer, kettle, coffee machine and so on. The garden has a beautiful olive tree and 2 comfortable sun beds table and 4 chairs. Every morning, we had breakfast in the garden. The house is surrounded by fake grass which gives it a nice touch. The bathroom is very spacious and has a rainshower too with strong pressure. We loved the daily warm showers. The beds are very comfortable as well and we brought many clothing and we could stock everything in the closet and our valuable belongings in the safe. We even had a second lounge area for ourselves. The location is also very convenient, close to the supermarket and restaurants.
Ulemper: We were not informed about the check-out procedure. It would have been nice to know in advance that we could store our luggage. In the end, the cleaning lady informed us (which was a challenge because she does not speak English). You can also use the toilet after check-out, this was not told to us either. Later on, we discovered that there are Spa treatments but there is no mention of it at all in the Villa. There is no reception, only via Whatsapp.

Fordele: It is a very nice hotel in a good position, excellent helpful staff and a very good standard of food. Entertainment is provided in the evenings which mainly appeals to the German guests. There are two gyms and a Spa area containing a steam room and Spa. Naturist areas are provided on the upper terraces. The property is well maintained with a swimming pool and terraces where towels cannot be placed on chairs before 9am. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Ulemper: We arrived about 9pm to be told by the manager that they were overbooked and we would be transferred to their sister hotel. This was unacceptable to us as they had done this to us on our last visit the previous year. He became rude and aggressive but eventually a room was eventually found for us on the third floor for that night and the next day we transferred to another room on the 6th floor. We complained the next day and did not receive a satisfactory response. They obviously overbook and then pass guests on with little consideration. When it happened to us last time we effectively lost a day of our holiday and were living out of a suitcase unable to unpack before we were moved back to our correct hotel. It is a lovely hotel, but, the dining area is chaotic - the layout is appalling, as it is a buffet service you have to bypass queues of people waiting to be seated with your food with very little space. Tables are too close together.

Fordele: Dejlig modtagelse da vi ankom! Super skønt personale, hyggelige store altaner, lækkert mad og god udsigt. Trods alle gæsterne var 50+, nød vi det i fulde drag som det eneste unge par.
Ulemper: Der blev ikke skiftet lagener, trods det at vores ophold var på 10 dage.

Fordele: Selection and quality of food was excellent (although some dishes were very salty). Children playground was in the shade, and kids club facilities were good. Some staff members are very nice (in the restaurant and Patrik in kid's club). Reception staff was nice enough to change our room, when we complained of a smoke/food smell 24/7 in the first room - the second room was better (although other customers smoke heavily in this hotel). Transfer was well arranged. I think it is the best hotel in the area for kids playground (as Playa des Ingles does not have any children playgrounds at all), food quality and variety and for the location.
Ulemper: All customers (mainly Germain pensioners) of the hotel smoke - in the restaurant, bar and on their balconies - and the smoke comes to your room and to a dinner/breakfast table.... Hotel customers and some waiters (not all) were very intolerant to young children - we did not feel welcome in the restaurant at all. Our little one had an accident fall in the room, which resulted in the emergency hospital treatment - but hotel staff did not bother to ask how we are/if everything was ok. I had a Birthday and the restaurant promised to deliver a Birthday cake (they offered, without us asking for it) - but they never delivered it:(, it was very disappointing. Kids club did not work (although it was open and we could select activities ourselves), but as it's not school holidays time - there was no entertainment (no disco/etc) for kids. Packed lunch consisted of a banana, an apple, a clementine and a bottle of water - for "all inclusive" guests. Clean towels in the room were not that clean - black marks/colours/lipstick (but it is probably the quality of the washing machine/detergent?) . To get to the beach (at the other exit from the hotel) - you have to use 4 lifts on different floors/parts of the hotel, and hotel staff sends you in different (often incorrect) directions...

Fordele: The pools and spa were so nice that they clearly competed with the beach of maspalomas. Moreover, the beds and linen were amazing, making you sleep like a baby. Breakfast at the 360 is spectacular: eating while feeling the ocean breeze and seing the amazing dunes and ocean!!
Ulemper: The 360 restaurant. We had a reservation which they did not seem to respect at all: we waited for half an hour and ended up leaving. They should treat guests with prefered care over outsiders who go there just to eat.

Fordele: Maden var rigtigt fint. Om søndag buffet med hummer ad libitum. Der var mange gæster som benyttede sig af det. Fint service af voksen personale: dog nogle flaskehalse ved morgenmad f. eks. kaffemaskinen eller tilberedning af æggeretterne. Om aftenen meget fint, skiftende life underholdning i baren, men desværre næsten ingen publikum. Det var synd for kunstnerne, for hotellets personale og gæsterne som ikke opdagede hvad der forgik.
Ulemper: Man kunne måske godt have fortælt i beskrivelsen at hotellet ikke lå direkte ved stranden men i 2. række

Fordele: On our visit to Palm Beach, the weather was a glorious 29 degrees, sunny and hot. What we loved about Palm Beach was it's close proximity to the beach so we could enjoy the wonderful cooling breeze from the sea. The next best thing about Palm Beach is the food, wonderful buffets' and Al la Carte from any of their three restaurants. The courtesy of the staff here deserve a special mention. They really go over and above to make you feel so welcome and appreciated. Great room service also.

Fordele: The staff were wonderful without exception. My room was very comfortable and cosy. The food was excellent. The pool sheer joy. Generally a laid back, no fuss atmosphere. Excellent location for morning runs along a nature reserve and afternoon strolls along the sea front. All in al fabulous.

Ulemper: Our room was upgraded and was bigger, but no view and also we had to pay extra for a coffee capsule which was a bit annoying. According to me in this type of hotel you rather make the price even higher, in order not to bother guests with 2 euro for Wi-Fi or 2.50 euros for coffee in the room because you’re going to ruin the class of the hotel . Somehow looks funny! In any case I thank you for making our holidays more comfortable and happy!!

Fordele: Close to one beach private-ish beach. Was hidden from the board walk. Would of been to go for a 2-4 trip not 6 nights 7 days.
Ulemper: The bed was uncomfortable, the resort was a maze to get threw. Resort was for older folk as young travellers we were bored by the entertainment and didn’t always want to lounge around the pools or drink a lot. The food was hit and miss; the staff was great on the first night getting our plates taken away but as time went on we had to pile our dirty plates up so they would notice we were done. Our room smelled quiet bad with or without the ac on, we would of like to open a window but we couldn’t being on the first floor. The resort needed some maintenance as people were tripping as they walked around the resort. Even though we had all inclusive we were doing a lot more work than we should of.

Ulemper: The hotel is laid out on quite a confusing way, particularly with regard to the lifts. Also there is a flight of spiral stairs outside the buffet restaurant that is quite dangerous, the 1st step blends into the rest of the surrounding path and so it’s quite easy to miss the first step and trip, very dangerous in my opinion.

Ulemper: Solsenge ved pools var for hårde. Lidt besværligt at skulle hente pool-håndklæde langt væk fra pools. Aften-buffeten var lidt kedelig - fiske- og kødretter var ofte for tørre, fordi de stod længe og blev holdt varme. Desserter og kager så flotte ud, men smagte ikke af ret meget - det meste var flødeskum eller smagløs creme eller hvad det nu skulle forestille at være. For lidt chocoladeis, og betjeningen meldte hver aften, at nu var der ikke mere.... Kvinden ved servicedesk var uvenlig og ikke ret hjælpsom, selv om hun dog bookede en bustur til mig. Receptionen var derimod meget venlige.

Ulemper: The first face we met on arrival at the hotel was the doorman, what a gentleman. In fact all the staff were fantastic. They would go out of their way to make you happy. Always smiling and saluting. Hotel spotless, including pool area. Loads of sun loungers and no need to be up at the crack of dawn to book one. Meals were top class. Surroundings beautiful. Will definitely be going back there again.

Lækkert hotel beliggende lige ved de flotte sandklitter i Maspalomas uden for Playa del Inglés. Fra store dele af Santa Monica Suites Hotel har du en flot udsigt over havet. Her bor du i lækre værelser, og vil du forkæle dig selv yderligere, bestiller du et med havudsigt. Hotellet har alt, hvad du har brug for til en afslappende ferie; et indbydende poolområde, restauranter, barer og motionsrum, hvis du gerne vil træne. Santa Monica Suites Hotel ligger desuden i nærheden af shoppingcentret Cita og den fine strandpromenade, der løber hele vejen til San Agustin. Hotellet er velegnet til voksne, der rejser uden børn. Vi kan dog ikke garantere, at hotellet er helt børnefrit.

Fordele: The hotel Aesthetically looks lovely…however on this site and the other site that advises about trips, this hotel should be AMAZING – and from our point of view – it was just – ok. I don’t believe I paid the best price – and that may well have effected my perceptions as well. I understand that hotels work on dynamic rate – ie – the less space they have – the more the room price increases….. In this case – I paid approx. £250 a night. For a 10 night stay – that is quite a lot of money for room only. If the room was priced at £150 a night – I would have felt much more comfortable about it.
Ulemper: The cleaners here get great reviews – however – I would personally say our room cleaning was a 7 out of 10. There were areas missed – and glasses not always washed. My “sea view room” – don’t forget - £250 a night – was behind a rather large palm tree. Which – obscured the view somewhat. It wasn’t what I imagined it would be to be honest.

Fordele: Fabulous hotel, the setting is amazing, a true oasis in the dunes, absolutely perfect for a relaxing break. Big pool, plenty of loungers, lovely luxurious rooms with excellent sea views over the dunes - love the sofas. Breakfast is fantastic, huge variety, lovely juices and cava :) The nearby shops (go out the beach gate and turn left) are standard cheapish beach resort fare but make a good change from the very stylish hotel and if you like to surf or kite surf the schools are a short walk along the beach. If you want a little more class a £5 taxi will get you to the sunset cafe, hotels and restaurants at Meloneras. Highly recommended.
Ulemper: Would prefer bigger towels changed less frequently. Robes also very small, I would post a picture but it would be indecent :p Tea making facilities in room would be good. Poolside food could be improved, it's okay in a pinch but not the same standard as breakfast.

Fordele: The facility is well maintained and was recently updated, location next to the beach Playa del Ingles (300m) and a short walk to the city centre cca 10 min walk (Maspalomas), lots of bars/restaurants/casinos/ect nearby. Large rooms (cca 35 m2), our had a balcony - sea view, 14th floor (the hotel itself has best views of the Playa del Ingles), but the extras do come with price increase (still: good value hotel). The breakfast is very good, plenty of variety (TIP: if the food-quantity is your "vacation fetish" go for the "Hotel HL Suitehotel Playa del Ingles"). WiFi is opened and "P2P friendly", average speed and ping. Staff was OK: they have a fixed-rate taxi to the airport (30 min drive cca; price: 40 EUR). Havent tried the gym or other facilities; see parking under "cons" section. Maspalomas is located on the south of the Gran Canaria island, best option for sun-seekers and beach-live, which brings me to ... GENERAL GRAN CANARIA WEATHER WARNING: the north of the Gran Canaria Island (Las Palmas, main city) is ALMOST ALWAYS cloudy with VERY limited sunshine (but still warm naturally ...), so if the beach&sun is you main priority go for other sections, south (including MasPalomas) is the best option!!! For petrol-head: Maspalomas even has a raceway: book Supercar Gran Canaria and drive a few laps in a 360 Modena Ferrari for cca 120 EUR! (7/2019)
Ulemper: Parking in Playa del Ingles (or Gran Canaria in general) is a mess, so with rental car there is a lot of "logistics" involved. Luckily there is a large open-air (not-covered) private parking at the Playa entrance (cca 13 EUR/day), close to the hotel. The Avoid the Yumbo center: full of shady bars and characters, definitely not a family destination by night (a true definition of a "skid row"). One more thing: for this price-range there could be hotel-reserved (meaning: free ...) section of the beach, with reserved places. Taxi to the airport is the same price as the usual fare (no discount). (7/2019)

Ulemper: There was always a long que at the reception and the staff had a lack of information. They did not know the shortest route to the Yumbo Centre and gave me wrong time schedules for the bus to Las Palmas. It was a shortage ofstaff in the dining room as well, it felt more like an institution than a hotel. The shuttle bus to the beach leaves only a few times a day and the driver was quite rude (I ended up taking a taxi both ways). The hotel is very noisy and I had to sleep with ear plugs.

Fordele: The facilities were nice - a bit hotel that has everything necessary. Huge dining hall with buffet - especially easy for families with children. The room was nice, comfortable beds.
Ulemper: The pool is located in the shadow and was too cold for us, which was such a shame. The bathroom had a constant bad smell from the drains. The bathrooms next to the bars and dining area had no soap for all the days we were there despite the fact that I mentioned it twice to the staff. I can only imagine the bacteria being spread on that account... Every evening there’s a huge show going on for an hour which was super loud - right next to the room where my daughter was sleeping. If only it had been earlier so we could have participated instead of being annoyed by the noise.

Fordele: Meget flot buffet både til morgen og aften. Fin plads ved poolen. Dejligt med mulighed for at lave kaffe og the på værelset + køleskab.
Ulemper: Restauranten er meget stor og kan ikke kaldes hyggelig. Til tider svært at finde et bord til 2 da vi ikke måtte sætte os ved borde til flere personer. Personalet har rygende travlt og er derfor svære at komme i kontakt med. "klovnen" og den forfærdelige popmusik ved poolen kunne vi godt undvære. Der var ingen sol på vores balkon da den vendte mod nord.
