Friendly helpful staff in downtown DC. The air conditioning in the room wasn't very good. It didn't feel like it dropped below 70F while set to 60F in November.
Staff very helpfil. Close to DC metro and attraction
The hotel was very nice and extremely close to all the sites (just blocks from the White House). The room, service, and location were far above what I would expect for the price. Would stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting the DC area.
It was right downtown near the white house and monuments, so we could walk everywhere Everything closes down so it's hard to find a late night restaurant or pharmacy
Staff amazing and SO CLOSE to Everything! Also, very easy to Metro and DCA.
This is a luxury hotel for an unbelievable price. The hotel is centrally located to about everything you want to see or do. What first caught our attention is the fact that you can look down the street and see the White House just a few short blocks away. Yes, there are a lot of hotels in Washington D.C., but if you are looking for a GREAT hotel at an unequaled price, this is it. This would be our first choice when returning to Washington DC. There was nothing not to like about this hotel.
The location and comfort here is great! Overall very good value!! The room was a little tight. Room had empty box of tissues, could of been a bit cleaner, dust.
Excellent location for much of downtown DC. Around Midnight my room filled with old cigarette smoke as someone began smoking in the stairwell. The air quality overall in my particular room was poor, requiring the windows to be opened as much as possible. This of course made it difficult to sleep as the city sounds in DC near The White House are loud and replete with sirens 24/seven. Normally, one might cover one's ears to have silence. However, at this hotel the pillows are the size for small children.
The room was made up in typical Hilton style with decent bedding/bathroom stuff. This hotels has seen better days. One of the elevators was out of service (seemingly for a long time - a piece of tape covering the outside) the button to the elevator was cracked, and the whole thign was worryingly slowly and creaky. The room itself smelled musty - like it hadn't been aired out in years. Outside the window was the HVAC system which was *loud*. It was a crazy-horrible room. My best guess is that because Kayak booked the room through Priceline Hilton felt it was okay to give me the worst room they could find. I checked out immediately and went to another hotel nearby for the same price, but with a much nicer room and hotel in general.
Friendly, attentive staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Location is within walking distance of many places to eat and a short ride from the national mall. Would stay again. Very cold lobby/restaurant/bar area. Thermostat in room kept malfunctioning. The maintenance guy brought us a space heater at one point. Requested shampoo at one point and three different staff people delivered some three separate times. Very friendly, but obviously some lack of communication. Staff was very apologetic about the thermostat and offered us a variety of comps.
Overall the property was excellent! A foul order in ventilation system.
Very Clean Comfortable beds
60 dollars for valet parking no other option
Location The staff (including management) did not respond adequately to their system being down during check in. Problems like that are expected but management did not issue an apology to all guests waiting in line for 30+ minutes and did not show the urgency to find an alternate way to check in all the guests affected by the hotel's system outage.
In DC near DuPont circle, but quiet on weekend days. Price of room offers decent value. Super expensive parking, $55/day. Not in the heart of the action in DC.
Valet parking was extremely slow and expensive
Everyone was very helpful & attentive!
Good deal for the price Expensive car valet and shower heads were in need of repair. Water temp fluctuated too much. I spent more time adjusting it rather than showering
Good customer service Very expensive hotel. The movies in the rooms are 20$ each. No HBO or any good channels really. Restaurant in the hotel is outrageously expensive (making room service also very expensive). 10$ for bowl of cereal, 25$ for shorts tack of pancakes. Food is really bad too. Like surprisingly very bad. Soggy fries, Bad salads, sandwiches, pizzas
I liked the late check out option. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was very clean. The front desk attempted to charge me for wifi even though my reservation included wifi. They expected me to pay or go out to use the public library in the common areas. After a visit back down to the front desk they provided me with an access code.
no self-parking. valet parking only. when I tried to do valet parking, they didn't allow me to do it.
The beds are remarkably comfortable. The staff is affable and efficient. My wife left her jewelry in the room. We called once we were home and spoke to Doris. She found the jewelry and called us back right away and will mail the jewelry to us. OVERALL 5 STARS.
Beautiful lobby, great DC location, helpful staff, lovely room. A value I don't understand but was happy to have. Lovely room. It was great! As a group we did not enjoy breakfast in the restaurant.
The staff was very freindly and attentive and the hotel itself is beautiful. The fitness center was impressive. There was no wi-fi availbale in our room and we had to pay 13$ per day for internet acess.
We absolutely loved our stay at The Mayflower. My husband and I were there to renew our vows on our anniversary and the staff were extremely welcoming, making sure our room was ready several hours before normal heck-in hours so that we could get dressed and off to the ceremony in time. I can't think of a single thing that was less than exemplary- the loveliest hotel in DC!
incredible suite for the price... they tried to put me in a regular dbl room when I checked in! Reminded them I had booked and been confirmed by their reservations mgr for a suite with 2 dbl beds.
I came in at 4 and there was no water or mini-bar in the room. They told me that if I wanted a Diet Coke I would need to wait until room service was open at 5. In the morning, they didn't fill the breakfast order -- said they didn't get it. This for $400 a night? Hardly 4 star service.
The hotel is ideally located in that it is walking distance to the White House and the Washington Monument. The room was also nicely appointed and clean. The staff was very nice and responsive. Service was on par with a 5 star experience. We booked the premier room through Kayak. The room we were give. Was TINY - e.g. distance between dresser and the bed was probably less than 2 feet. If I were a solo traveler, this would not have been a problem. However, with a toddler, this became an immediate safety concern. We upgraded to a deluxe room.
It was a clean hotel with nice people. misleading when looking online, it looks bigger than it is. But it wasn't too bad. They do not have complimentary breakfast. It's over priced for what you get.
Rooms needed to be dusted. Mini bar is electronic and not a refrigerator; DO NOT TOUCH or you will be charged.
The location The price
very helpful concierge. Decent location
Comfortable beds and attentive front desk staff. Some inattention to housekeeping in a room with a Murphy bed.
It was so busy/ room service was 30 minutes later
good location, nice staff
very attentive staff and very positive feeling
Good location, helpful staff poor plumbing, below average food and very high cost of room service
My room was very nice and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The front of house staff were also very cordial. Charging $12.95 per day for internet service is unreasonable, based on the room rate we were charged.
good facilities;helpful staff had to request tea/coffee maker and a refrigerator coffee/milk supplies not replenished daily
The staff was great and the room was very nice. The breakfast was terrific much better than expected for $1.Ut was a overall great experenice.
Service was excellent They changed me an extra 200 dollars when I checked into the hotel, despite prepaying on Kayak
Location. Easy walk to many attractions as well as to my business destination.
The hotel in a very nice location and the room very comfort. they give to me Room No 403 we can't sleep because of the noise of the air-condations from out side. and the hotel staff are not frindly
Hotel staff was very helpful Location is a bit remote to all main sightseeings
I was charged for breakfast although it was included in the cost the room
staff friendliness and professionalism were great, especially night staff at reception. Found one of the staff at the gift store gave incorrect info regarding tour pick up times, but we got the correct info from the person who was there the next day.
The beds. The fitness room. It was soooooo hot and there was no way to adjust the temperature.
Rooftop pool, baggage storage service, polite and efficient staff, central location
Really good value - clean freindly and a really good safe location. I would recommend as on a direct straight road to white house. Bar good and freindly atmosphere with varied clientele watching Tv.. I felt comfortable having a beer alone there as my daughter was out - I would not do this at home. Staff gave good advice and hailed cab for us etc. No-
I'm upset that I can not get a refund!! I had to cancel my reservation due to a flight cancelation.
manager was very helpful in resolving difference in price between booking.com price and price on arrival
It was clean and looks nice from the outside They charge you for parking and they don't tell you. They tell you to come down for breakfast when you have to pay for breakfast after they say it's complementary.
nothing special at the hotel . it runs but nothing special to come back . np
Location was okay underwhelmed by room, asked for one kings bed but got 2 small double beds. No late night dining.
the bathtub, room service was prompt
Excellent location: within walking distance of Metro stops &, even better for me, across the street from a Bike Share station. Staff were polite, helpful, and professional. Worth every cent I spent. Happy medium between really expensive places right next to the monuments and less expensive places that were farther away. The room was smaller than I expected but adequate for my needs.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our reservation due to heavy rain, traffic, wind, etc on the route. The manager did agree to refund part of our money. We were disappointed that we weren't able to make the trip.
It was a quick stay but it was great. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I wish this hotel had was free wifi.
This site says it has free parking which is not true it was ok but wouldn't stay there again breakfast is 16 dollars for cereal and muffins internet is also expensive
I used to work near Scott Circle so this was convenient for me to go visit friends. No choice as to heat or a/c in the room...which is a nightmare during in-between seasons. My room was too warm and there was nothing I could do about it. Ugh. Also, $41 for valet parking is nothing short of highway robbery. Finally, female front desk clerk needs to add "smiling" to her repertoire.
The staff was very friendly. The price was fairly cheap for the location. The wifi didn't work and charged $12/day. Heat and lights didn't work. Bed bugs. Expensive parking.
Amazing breakfast. (We got free breakfast vouchers when we booked our room). Comfy bed. Convenient central location. Asked for a fridge, never got one. Had to have the shower repaired because it wouldn't get hot. TV had really bad reception and very few channels.
It's in a good location just north of the heart of Washington DC. I was in town for 6 nights for a SHRM conference and this hotel was very disappointing. Why is it that more expensive hotels charge extra for wifi while it's free at lower-end hotels? An extra $15/day for wifi. Ridiculous! They were a little stingy with the towels--I only had 2 bath towels in my room. Most hotels provide 3 as standard. The bathroom was small and laid out oddly. The toilet was against the same wall as the bathroom door, facing the sink, and was very close, so getting up was a little awkward. The shower didn't have a door so a lot of water ended up on the floor. I reserved a king bed but the bed I got was no bigger than a queen. I had to ask to be moved to a room with a king bed. The staff was neither friendly nor accommodating. The published breakfast hours were up to 10:30 but when I tried to enter the restaurant a little after 10:00 am the staff said they were closed until lunch. The examples of their borderline-rudeness are too numerous to list, but very few on staff were friendly. Oddly enough the exception seemed to be the housekeeping staff.
I like the location, the staff was polite, etc. The bathroom floor was dirty. The floor needs cleaning. Requested a small refrigerator and the next day my food was no good. Chemicals in the fridge. The wifi didn't work, however, the price was waived and I was able to go to the T room to do urgent work.
It was comfortable and walking distance to resteraunts and attractions
Well located Dirty Low level maintenance most of the staff is not caring
The location was great. Movies could not be rented on the TV. Wifi was spotty.
Hotellet havde en venlig, chill atmosfære og var virklig flot indrettet - lækker pool på taget:-)
The room was very nice, a modern style, seemed to be newly-renovated. We had a view across Thomas Circle. The staff was extrememly friendly and helpful. Despite the cool design, the shower in our particular room did not work very well... very low water pressure and the water temperature would fluctuate from hot to cold often without us doing anything to provoke it.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good Japanese restaurant. I requested a room far from the pool area when booking and that was to my satisfaction fully fullfilled. Compared to the price paid the stay was a good deal. -
A nice design hotel in a good location The pool and roof garden was closed down! It was 26 D. and the kids was looking forward to a hotel with pool - one of the reasons to choice this hotel for us!
Good furnishings No parking
I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was definately more social and less like other hotels. It was a great experience.
I love the the original amenities in the mini bar. At the beginning we didn´t really know what to expect from the whole place due to the whole decoration being so rare and original, but we ended up enjoying it...the atmosphere is a lot of fun. There was no lotion available in the toiletries. The room service hours were kind of limited. There were some really nice people in the staff but some others looked a little annoyed and just too eager to go home.
Nice area, rooftop is nice, awesome beds. Bathroom door did not shut.
Great hotel. Good position. Good staff. Perfect.
The King Junior Suite was really large and very comfortable for the few days we stayed there. The front desk staff were very knowledgable of the area and very efficient with check in/check out. The bathroom amenities were great and you could get anything else you might have forgotten from the front desk. They also had complimentary wine from 5pm-6pm! The location was also really fantastic in which you were about a mile away from most of the sites so it is a quick walk or Uber. The rooftop patio is also incredible! I highly recommend this hotel!
Everyone was incredibly friendly. The service was just out of this world.
I love that this hotel is in a quiet residential area but just a few minutes walk from so much! The staff were pleasant even though they were completely swamped- Sunday check out time. If I ever need to come to Logan Circle again I'd absolutely use this hotel. The TV is huge. The shower has excellent pressure and the bathroom is overall beautiful. Completely enjoyed my stay here.
I had a big room with a big bed, enjoyed watching TV from the sofa.Overall, I enjoyed the room. Do not serve free breakfast
Very nice hotel and attentive staff. Made us feel very welcome and the decor was very nice. Free champagne at night was a nice touch! Had a room we could keep our bikes in which was nice. No coffee in room, no real desk to work on were my only gripes. Nice big flat screen but no HD TV was a bit of a disappointment (although have been in other hotels with same set up). Not a big deal, though, locale was nice and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
the decor was very interesting, the staff was very helpful and even went so far as to look up metro delays for us as we sat in horrible traffic. there was a dirty washcloth in the bathtub when we checked in and there was no vending available that i could locate.
Had horrible service from front desk woman and did not get the room I was assured I would the day before. The maid staff was very helpful and friendly as was the man who worked overnight desk. The room was small with barely any windows but very clean and bed was comfortable. Will never stay in this hotel or Hyatt again based on promise of getting a street view room and then getting a room that literally overlooked all the AC units for hotel and no view of street. Also, the room they assigned us was not ready when we were sent up so we had to get shuffled into another with a worse view. The desk clerk was rude about the whole situation and when we inquired about parking right out front because the signs were very confusing she told us to "read the signs". Seriously- as if we hadn't already. Very rude. Our friends stayed too and had poor service from same two woman.
Super clean, well laid out room. Quite big for an urban hotel. Everything works well. Well thought out.
The location is excellent in the heart of DC, walking distance to many sights. The HVAC unit in my room failed and I was moved to another room, which also had a faulty HVAC unit, so I was moved to a third room. All of this took place at 8pm, which ruined my plans for the evening. The next day, I was a bit disappointed that neither the manager nor anyone on staff reached out to follow up. Generally, I expect more personal service from Hyatt hotels.
Reservation was not honored!
Beautiful hotel in downtown Washington. Easy access to transportation. Room was big and really nice. Wine offered at 5pm in the lobby. Great value for the price of the stay.
The great front desk/ customer service. No.
Location Price for the quality
The room was amazing. The foyer, huge shower, bed and desk were ideal. the hallways were a little darker than I preferred.
Like the decor and the flare. There was an animal bed and feeding bowl in my room. I'm allergic to pet dander.
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location wasn't as close to public transportation as I would have liked, but I didn't mind the walk. It was also a short walk to a number of restaurants.
The staff at this hotel went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The Unique Vintage Décor was relaxing and homey - not the usual hotel look. The base of the beds stick out too far.
Great hotel in an excellent location for our needs. Loved the decor and the daily happy hour in the lobby! It will be our hotel of choice for future stays in the city (we live about an hour away).
No your usual chain hotel. big room, friendly staff room key kept getting demagnatized
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The rooms on the back side of the upper floors are quiet, either that, or no one was nearby. The executive king rooms are really big and the desk is nice. The couch is comfy. The sheets and bed are good. Be sure to join the rewards program to avoid the horrible internet and resort fees. There is no coffee or maker in the rooms. I'm not much for the theme and the false eastern cultish idol worship. Avoid the mini bar except the $10 free.
Nothing. At check in at 11:30 pm they forgot to program my card to open door.Internet service down. Additional undisclosed fees charged. Tried to 'cram' a $46 parking fee--and if I didn't closely check bill I would have missed it.I did not have a car. See above. The room has dark dingy carpet. I will not stay here again. I am writing Kimpton as well. Not worth the money.
