A magnificent setting for an adventure and nature lover. Hire a bike and tour the Elbe. Enjoy the Pillniz park. Pleasant hotel with friendly and very helpful personnel. Excellent breakfast. The price performancce ratio for the hotel main restaurant (Kamine) was under par. Slow service and expensive, food good but not outstanding. But there are local restaurants in the villages nearby as well as the grill restaurant.
The surrounding location on the River Elbe was extremely picturesque and the castle was opulent. The hotel was 12 kilometres from Dresden with excellent transport links, bus and tram. Breakfast was delicious and wide-ranging. The room was very attractively decorated, with a luxurious bathroom. The double bed was small with a soft mattress.
The incredible food is the best! Everything is so flavorful and well presented! The staff is super...this is our second time in four months, we enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving so much in November, that we had to bring our visiting Mother-in-law for a stay over Easter--she was impressed too. Nice way to share and end a marvelous holiday weekend!
Beautiful. Signage/Directions to hotel from Dresseden weren't impossible to follow but not great either. It was quiet, food was excellent. Need plugs in the bathroom or by a mirror for girls to do their hair :)
Excellent in every way
Wonderful location, comfortable large rooms, pleasant and friendly staff. Breakfast is excellent. .We love the Schloss Pillnitz park, Elbe River and great walking tracks in the forest, which are all easy access. Access to Dresden by public transport is easy. No public internet access for travellers who do not have wifi.
Beautiful location with friendly efficient staff. Restaurant was excellent with good service and menu. Main desk staff were very helpful in organising travel arrangements and tickets.
Beautiful location, wonderful to walk in the grounds of the Schloss all on our own early in the morning. Delicious breakfasts. Easy public transport into Dresden. Delightful private hotel chauffeur service (Herr Effenberger) - we recommend, highly, the opera option! None; except it would have been nice to have had a hotel sitting room.
beautiful detached house-turned hotel, big room, wooden furniture, nice patio a little far from city center
Very pleasant place with a stylish touch. Regina and Lothar Arnold are nice and more then helpful. Excellent impression!
location traffic information
nice and quiet location, good connection to city centre, good place
The studio apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable; the kitchen and bathroom were very well appointed; the villa was situated in a quiet residential area within easy reach of transport links to city centre and central station. There was also a suitable range of local shops and restaurants close by.
Very friendly and helpful staff--spoke English so there were no communication problems. One of the best equipped kitchens we've ever had in a vaction apartment. Beds were very very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and well appointed. Wi Fi available at reasonable rate. Good parking. This is more of a "need to know" than a "did not like"... this hotel was a pretty decent tram ride from the city center. During our stay, the tram line was under construction so had to transfer from tram to bus each direction. However, we were in no rush and enjoyed both the city, the upscale neighborhood and the surrounding woods.
Very polite and kind staff and beautiful area. silent night. Unfortunately, there were many many ants between nich of window and wall. I felt iｔch at my ear and touch, there was an ant. If you don't have car navigation, 120% impossible to find this hotel. If you have navigation but you came at dark in the night 40% impossible to find.
Excellent and quiet location although a bit remote. Reception was in a different building and to pay by credit card had to walk 300m to yet another building. Kitchenette was practically useless for cooking a meal and at side of bed so no space. Refrigerator was noisy
The location in the villa district was relaxing and outstanding. The apartment was well furnished with a lovely view over the garden through large windows. This hotel is highly recommended and we had our own cooking facilities in a seperate kitchen which was an added bonus. Situated on a hilltop, there are fine views over Dresden. It's a much better option than staying in the heart of the busy Altstadt itself. Our apartment was cleaned to a high standard everyday. An excellent hotel with private, free parking.
The staff has been behaving as follows: told us that if we use the kitchen to cook our own food, we would have to pay an extra fee ; run after us, while parking the car in the hotel private parking, to tell us that we would have to pay an extra fee (which we knew about) ; knock at our door in the evening to show the invoice hotel room plus parking use ; called early in the morning to know if we were having or not our breakfast downstairs ; Very tight corridor to drive to the private hotel parking ; shout to us when we were parking the car in the public parking to tell us how we should park our car ; very poor kitchen facilities.
The location and the style of the building. It missed a personal touch, there was hardly any staff around during the day (and I fear, the night), several hours during the day there was only a note where to find the staff (in another hotel). Although a shield on the door mentioned a restaurant, there was no restaurant and it was impossible to get some food or drinks after breakfast. It looked as if the hotel had known better days. The personal was very friendly, but very young - students?
Our room was very pretty and clean, with a nice bathroom. The breakfast room extends into a lovely sunroom and breakfast was very good. The hotel is in a pretty suburb near the Heide (woods) but close to shops and a tram which takes you directly into the city center (about 25 mins) or to Bahnhof Neustadt (ca. 15 mins) where you can catch the bus to Schloss Moritzburg. An excellent restaurant overlooking the river is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Nice staff, nicely decorated interiors - we haven't had such a pleasant hotel experience in a long time.
Nice room and comfortable bed The breakfast and there was only one person to work the front desk and breakfast area. Hotel would be hard to find without a navigation system
This was a very positive experience for us, the price was very reasonable for the ammenities we recieved. Thanks Erika Liepnieks Slightly hard to find, but directions were good for the remoteness of the villa.
Very pleasant hotel in a delightful setting. Very roomy apartment and excellent breakfast. Staff werevery friendly and attentive.
I really liked the location, very green area, close to many castles and good public transport I think that the breakfasr was not as good as expected for a "villa".....
Quiet location, has a certain old-world charm It lies well off the main road in a one way system behind other large houses, difficult to find. Only staffed at breakfast time, parking restricted. Rather old fashioned and idiosyncratic decor
Thanks to the reviews on booking.com I knew what to expect in terms of absence of staff and the lack of restaurant, so the hotel met all our expectations. The rooms were pretty, clean and comfortable. The Wintergarten was a pretty breakfast room. Transport into the city was fast and easy, and staff were polite and helpful. If anything, the rooms were smaller than expected; and noise carries very easily between rooms.
Its good location and warm atmosphere The staff was not able to speak English sufficiently
Away from the centre location was relaxing. Very nice room decoration. Breakfast choice was a little limited for my taste. There is no elevator.
