The beds were among the most comfortable I have ever slept in, even including my own at home. The breakfast buffet, with the vouchers for guests costing $12, was very good, and compared well in quality and price to the breakfasts offered by other restaurants in town. The dinner was also well done. Though a bus group had pulled in just before we walked in, we experienced no delay in service once we were seated. The Alberta beef Prime Rib was very good, and the cheesecake dessert among the better I have had. For the cost, tThe room was tight in size, and there was no chair other than the desk chair, which couldn't be used without blocking the walking space between the bed farthest from the door, and the door itself, and the bathroom. Also, as Americans, I suppose we expect there to be air-conditioning available. As we learned, both at this hotel, another in Banff and at our relative's home in Calgary, we learned that, because the days that the temperature gets really hot are few in that part of Canada, AC is not a priority. People should be told at check-in about the AC situation. There is one small sign above the thermostat, which should be larger, explaining about the AC, but it's easy to miss. Also, our room had a problem with air circulation, as well as a noisy fan, which made it difficult to sleep.
The pool was larger than at many places in this price range. The hours were OK but an earlier opening than 9am would have been good esp. on my last day. The bathroom was huge and would have accommodated a wheel chair. A recycle bin was a welcome sign. The tile floor around the pool and in the dressing room was very slippery. Believe the 4pm check-in. They do not have enough cleaners or they do not work enough hours. Also I asked for no service for my 3 night stay but when the "do not disturb" sign was taken from my door, the room was serviced. The AC had made the room quite cold at check-in. I turned it off and then only turned it on briefly one evening.
We were given an upgrade which was a nice surprise and the room was beautifully done. It was clean and the hotel had a great location with its proximity to town. There was very limited parking and that was unsettling. The hotel seemed to be cramped for space, but it was very nice.
Cleanliness and comfort of room Shower did work very well - ran in the tub - annoying
The kitchenette was very convenient and had everything we needed. The hot tub had too much chlorine which made it hard to breathe and wrecked our bathing suits.
The best part was the second night we stayed in an upgraded room that had heat and a fireplace. The first night was the most horrible stay we have ever had in a hotel. We checked in to the room and within 5 minutes the power went out. We infromed the staff and the assured the power was out in the town. After an hour the power came back on but we were without heat. The hotel staff assured us that maintinace was working on the heating issue but nothing was done. The hotel staff never offered us an option for another room and we might as well have slept in our vehicle. We spent the night freezing in our room and we called down to the front desk staff again the next day. They offered us an upgraded suite to compinsate. When checking out of the hotel I had asked for some sort of discount the manager took $20 off of the bill but I was rather offended that they did not offer to cover our stay or offer a free stay.
The room has AC. This is important in summer since it can get pretty hot in Jasper. The bed is comfy and clean. The location is kind of far from the town center. It is pricey for an inn level room.
Kids loved the pool facilities. We had 2 adults and 2 young children in one room. Rooms were small and cramped, but fine for sleeping. Well overdue for an update/renovation and not ANOTHER coat of paint over the old!
It was an okay place to stay Could have been cleaner and newer renovated
Comfortable, clean room, conveniently located, good value. Breakfast selection on the cold buffet was limited, eg no healthy cereals. Waitress did not understand English.
There was a smell in the room. My sister and I tried to go into the hot tub outside and there was a party going on with drinking, broken glass and loudness. We were also facing the back of the Inn.
A good base to explore the nearby attractions of Jasper NP.Motel clean and comfortable.
The rooms were very nice and clean, and the location was excellent. There wasn't a complimentary breakfast.
Staff was really friendly and rooms were clean. The bathroom door did not stay closed. The TV didn't seem to work at all. The room's walls seemed very thin, I could hear the neighbours flushing and taking a shower.
The friendly staff make a difference, and though a short walk to the shops, it means the hotel is in a quiet area.
spacious standard room room inside the pool area was very hot, aircondition not working properly, had a hard time sleeping at night
Nothing about the lodge appealed to my wife and I. The hotel was the most expensive and worst of all the hotels we stayed in during our Canadian vacation. There was no seating in the room so to watch the TV one had to sit on the bed. The room was also cramped.
bed and bedding was some of the best I've slept in. bathroom was dated with cracked tiles around tub enclosure, toilet was very low
Good price, comfortable bed, fridge in room, great deck for guests to sit have a drink and enjoy sights. Upgraded broadband for wifi needed badly, unable to use wifi in evening when everyone was at hotel.
Great indoor swimming pool; location was good, staff friendly. We booked a king size bedroom and were pleasantly surprised when we entered the room to find a full kitchen, dining area, sitting area and of course the king size bedroom. The air conditioner was a portable unit and was noisy. Window opened so we had fresh air and no need to run the air conditioner. The heating units were on the roof just outside our room and were very loud when they kicked in during the night. Breakfast was good, but expensive.
Location and price, friendly desk staff, nicely updated nothing
Overall, the stay was great! Beds very comfortable. Room was clean and modern! Great location! Noise policy wasn't enforced!
Everything was new and clean. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. We really liked all of the Canadian artwork on the walls.
Only double sized beds I know we got the cheaper room but suriously! Best hotel in jasper shouldn't have doubles !!!!
Overall, stay was good. Stayed in a double room, their smallest room. Room and bathroom were a bit cramped, but everything was clean and beds were comfortable. Location is great. Walking distance to places to eat and the Bear Paw Bakery. A bit expensive for the size of the room, but price is comparable with similar quality hotels in the city of Jasper.
The peaple who work there is wonderful and friendly. We have a good time there. We spent one more extre day. Thank you. No
The room is very comfortable and location just in front of rail station is excellent. They do not provide breakfast and fare is expensive compare others.
Very convenience to pick up and drop off . This is my second time here and next time I will choose Whistler Inn again. Some pillows are not in proper use anymore (double queen bedroom)
great service (knowledge of area), friendly but not sappy
The location was very good (though it did take us some time to find the actual entrance)- both for driving to the local attractions at the national park and both to shops and restaurants. The room was spacious and clean. Comfortable and big beds. Upon arrival we discovered that the hotel doesn't have enough parking places for all guests (so we had to carry our luggage from a far away parking space we did find). Also, it was very noisy during the late night hours, as some of the hotel gusts where sitting at the hot tub offered to the gusts on the rooftop right across our room (however, it should be noted we didn't complain at the front desk). Poor water pressure in the shower (although, again- we didn't bother to notify the front desk)
The Whistler Inn was very nice and convenient, but way overpriced for what it is. Try the Athabasca Hotel only 1 block away for about 40% less. The price was too high for what it was.
Amenities were great. Bed was comfy. Rooms are very small, the small tv on the wall just had a cable box balanced on top. There was only about ten parking spots for the entire hotel so if they were full your out of luck. I found it very expensive for what it was
We loved the lake view and fireplace, rooms are lovely and staff is great! This is now one of my top two places in Jasper. Also love that it isn't right in the town site. The People above us were very, very loud and so were the cleaning staff. We are easy risers but to those who aren't be prepared for banging lol
The views are tremendous and the resort is set up such that you needn't leave if you don't want to! And off-season the rates are quite reasonable. Being in the middle of the forest, the internet service was a bit spotty, but otherwise no complaints!
The location is fantastic. Most amazing views I've ever seen at a resort. Staff friendly and helpful. Renting a canoe and paddling around the lake was fun and romantic. Fireplace in room was a cozy addition. Down sides were no air conditioning, tub and shower surround could do with some refreshing and the resort restaurant menu was very limited.
It was a spectacular view the trails were great and our dog loved it!! They were renovating the restaurant
Easy access from parking to the room. The rooms are very outdated. With no.option for air or a portable fan, I had To open a window to get air. I could barely sleep it was so cold, but then I would be hot and the air would be stuffy. Didn't feel comfortable at all.
Location Small hot rooms no a/c
Lots of amenities in the room. The restaurant was good. The beds were not comfortable and you could definitely hear children running around the halls
This was a very clean hotel, near the center of Jasper. No continental Breakfast.
location, good-sized rooms the rooms, hallways, lobby--all are dark and just seem like an old place that has been remodeled in bits and pieces. Also, the on-duty clerk failed to give our wake-up call on the morning we were to catch the train. He said he got to most of them, but he had been busy.
We were impressed by the luxury linens - bath and especially the bed linens. Very comfortable mattress and pillows. Also the breakfast was especially great
The bed was really comfy, the sheets were soft, the restaurant was great and the toiletries provided smelled nice and were clearly of a great quality. It was nice that they were able to get us in earlier than check in time. The wall sockets were too high in the room, prompting us to find a creative way of stacking the kettle in order to boil water. The walls were too thin, we could hear other guests talking, not shouting, in the adjacent rooms. There was also a weird dip in the floor of the hallway.
Stayed at the King Loft, lots of space and comfortable.Like the balcony and the rustic woody design.Reception counter offered free home baked cookies, thought that makes the place homely.overall makes you feel like you are living in a tree house. Breakfast choice too limited.especially for a 3 day stay .
Location was good. As it is a short walk to downtown. To start, our room was in the basement right next to the mechanic room. Not a "cozy vacation feel." Next, our room which was said to have 2 double beds and a pull out. It kind of did, if you include a twin pullout a pullout bed when they are always doubles. Finally, and the biggest complaint is that there was blood on my bed sheets! This is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. We told the front desk about it and they offered a single apology and told us they would clean the room. Then, we were asked 3 more times where the stain was when it was plain as day. One of the times it was in the middle of our dinner that we were eating in their restaurant. Finally, when I was putting my baby to sleep in his crib (we brought) I noticed that the sheet was tucked in funny on my bed. I pulled it out and the bloody sheet was never changed! I was furious. After finishing putting my baby to bed I went to the front desk and told them what had happened. And at this point it was too late to come and change the sheets as my baby was asleep in the room. So I got to spend the night on a twin pullout bed for which I was paying $250 a night for. The next morning I spoke with the manager and she was hardly sympathetic. She said she hadn't had a chance to speak with housekeeping yet to hear their side of the story. THERE IS NO OTHER SIDE! There was blood on my sheets and it was never changed when they said they did change them! To top it all off, when we went back in the room after housekeeping that next day, I found a pill of some sort on the floor. What if my baby had found this?! I will NEVERbe staying at this hotel again. And unless you want to stay in a dirty hotel with staff who lies to you and are sneaky, I wouldn't stay here either!
Reasonable too rate. Kitchenette.
I'd rather save the $320 and sleep in my car. Hotel doesn't have AC and our room was 26 degrees. This place needs a match.
Great size room and good onsite dining.
Decor and furniture may be a bit dated, but a very clean and equipped room for small town Jasper. Met all our needs including a coin laundry for our stay. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would definately stay here again if I had the chance to return to the gorgeous Canadian Rockies.
Good location Walked in the room and it smelled like old perfume, shower had black mildew in the grout. Bathroom floor was dirty, furniture was old and look filthy. Room was very hot because there was no air conditioning.
This hotel has lots of facilities for family especially for children. I think spa is awesome.
Bed was extremely hard! Could have used an iron. Credit card was billed different amount than Kayak receipt.
The pool/spa area was nice.
Nice clean hotel within walking distance to town for shopping & restaurants.
I did not like anything enough to return there. The reception staff seemed stressed, like they didn't care whether i was there or not. The facilities did not seem clean, outside or inside. The worst were the thin walls. After an 8 hour drive, i wanted to sleep, went to bed at 9. Next door, it sounded like a party was going on. There was no way i could sleep, a man talked incessantly, kids were shrieking, others laughing loud - it was impossible to sleep. When i called the front desk to ask for help, i was told that their time rule to quiet down was 11 pm, and that i should call back if by then things had not quieted down. Since i could mot sleep, i knocked on the wall shortly after 11pm, called the front desk again. I heard someone knock on their door (one could hear everything), and finally, shortly after 1am, the crowd left.
Very nice room, good services.
For some reason we were selected to stay in the best suite in the hotel -- a complete condo with kitchen/living/dining room, two bedrooms, and a HUGE bathroom. This was a nice surprise. We also enjoyed the pool/hottub facility.
Good people, and understanding cleaning lady's , they will come back latter if I was still on the suite
Comfortable, spacious room. Room decor is dated, and the hotel is a bit far from town if you are walking. A little on the expensive side.
Staff was very nice, good location. Old facility needing to be upgraded. Very expensive for the condition of the facility.
Good size room with mini fridge. Beds were comfortable. The rate for the room was far too high. This hotel is definately in need of an update. Also the mini fridge was not stable on the shelf and made noises all night.
quiet, adequate room size, additional TV room, friendly staff parking was an issue (basement parking lot was very dirty), price was way too high, no breakfast. (Overall the town of Jasper is very expensive, a rip-off.)
Nice little cabins, it was kind of neat feeling like we had a cabin in the rockies for the night. The breakfast that came with our reservation was pretty good. The front desk was really helpful and let me use their microwave late one night! Nope.
Cozy lodge with fireplace and kitchen. Although we checked out in the morning, we had a break in between tours and the owner was nice enough to let us use the day room. When we went to use the hot tub, there were some brown flakes coming out of the jets. The room had not been used for over 2 months so hopefully it was just an isolated incident.
For the adventurer looking for a place to stay and rest their head for the night, this was perfect.
In the center of the main street, close to everything, good price Some people were really loud at night (3 AM)
We liked the architecture inside the hotel. The staff was friendly and did their best to make everyone comfortable. There were no elevators which we didn't know about. I didn't know I had booked a room without a bathroom until afterword.
Good location, good price for the area, rooms were not that sound proof and could hear other guests in their room, if they were present. Limited space to walk around in room
Near to city centre. Not at all satisfied with the room. We have paid $---for 2 days stay. which is not worth enough at all. The bathtub curtain is stinking and the room is very congested. It doesn't have even enough space to walk.
Good location few blocks to walk to town. Have extras like coffee maker and hair dryer. Shared bathroom.
Exquisitly decorated and spotlessly clean accommodations. Exceptional place to stay while enjoying all that Jasper has to offer. There is a separate entrance for guests, so you can come and go as you please. Perfect location.
