The resort was beautiful, the staff was top notch, and the food was great. A real value for the money. I would gladly stay again and highly recommend this resort. It was a little far from the town of Saladan, but in a way that was a blessing because it was very quiet.
wonderful location and excellent architecture in very astonishing surrondings. A good chef (in one of the restaurant) to discover another contemporary version of thai cuisine. And a real clear sea without ugly jelly fish at last ! Very nice personnal with some good attentions like water and fruit free services on the beach and the pools. A spa too expensive : lack of simple thai massage affordable
The services is excellent. Very natural and comfortable.
Spa was excellent.
Great hotel, room was spacious and clean, conveniently located at the middle of the island. Great pool. Very helpful staff. A bit expensive, not very lively. It is necessary to have a car or a motorbike to move around the island as you cannot go anywhere by foot.
We liked to stay at Rawi Warin with our children. Very nice hotel and place was nice and peacefull. Pool area was also very nice. Good choice for the families with the kids.
nice location, low occupation with guests so the staff was probably reduced and the menu limited.
The staff was friendly, the grounds were beautiful. Rooms are nice and clean. The beach in this area is really nice, if you go a little more north to the next beach it becomes very shelly.. so this beach is nice at the hotel. Ko Lanta was really fun. Very laid back vibe, still areas of untouched beaches. You must rent a motor bike, it is so fun to drive along the beach and check put each little town along the way. Driving the whole west coast of the island takes only and hr or two. We really enjoyed that part of our time in Ko Lanta. The hotel offers motor bike rentals on site, which make it really convenient. Local traffic is mild so it's a good place to start riding, vs a busy crazy city like Bangkok. We didn't eat much at the hotel but we did eat at two places near the hotel thay we really liked one was called Pinky's the other Sonya The hotel in my opinion, was more of a 4-star rather than a 5 star Resort. Also depending on the room thats booked you may be at the top of the hill which means long walks back and forth between the rooms if you don't want to wait for a buggy. The extra cost of the pond rooms is well worth it for location convenience. We actually had our room moved down, because the walk/ uphill trek was so strenuous. The breakfast is included in the morning and served outside which tends to be really warm even early am. Also be sure to specify your bed preference when you check it, we were on our honeymoon and they initially gave us a room with two twin beds and never asked our preference at check in, another reason why we have to be moved.
The staff was great in arranging meals for special dietary needs.
Excelent garden/park, a lot of vegetation, water, cascades. Even the basic rooms had superb sea view, also from the bathtub, from up the hill. Large, very nice "infinity pool". Staff was very helpful, all spoke good english. Plentiful good quality breakfast buffet and excellent, inexpensive evening restaurant. It's really a hit for this kind of money. Beach is kind of rocky
The facilities are quite beautiful and the staff were very attentive. The pool is a big plus. The beach is quite rocky and so not possible to swim in the ocean. There are many good spots to eat outside the hotel nearby. Sometimes our food orders were wrong. Really not much to complain about.
Good Location, beach was 3 min walk from suite. pool just outside the window of suite (upgrade from balcony to pool in low season). Near from the "town". Good place to stay and relax and good value of money, however was not impressive... Low season so: Many many maintenance and construction on the resort; SPA was close; no activities on the resort; very poor breakfast with almost no options...
spacious villas, interesting design, proximity to the city We lived in villas. the hotel was renovated, a lot of noise. rates in patches of repair, no hot water in the evenings. Breakfast poor. beach is very short.
This is the best beach in Lanta, the sea is the best in Thailnad. The hotel design is very nice. The location of hotel comfortable, the restourants and bars from the hotel beach just in walking distance.
Staff were excellent, always extremely friendly and accomodating. Breakfast buffet was in the room and it was fantastic. We also mostly ate here and the food was top notch! Massive choice too. The spa was a little pricey but I'm literally seraching for something bad to pick on, everything else was excellent.
cool staff , fency location and fency houses not realy clean room
We spend 8 nights in this beautiful place beginning of Nov and had very good weather and only a few guests. The resort gets apparently very busy over xmas which might change the athmosphere but what we experienced was perfect. Being in the south of Lanta is also a must as it is much quieter, nicer and more authentic. During our stay, we also visited many hotels/resort on the island and SriLanta was definitely the best choice whithin this price range. The spa is way too expensive! We did not go there once.
The resort was very stylish and clean. Excellent beach location and good pool and sun loungers. Very friendly, helpful & welcoming staff.
Location Restaurant , breakfast, no quality/ price
very wonderful place, golden beach & blue sea, delicated small villa in the woods, very calm to reach the peace in the deep heart. Also convient to the families with children, they can learn to swim in the pool and play around, very safe and hotel staff will help you to take care of them. I'll come back. nothing.
The beach location is lovely, the bungalows well laid out and the restaurant is beautiful. Everything felt a bit like the glory days were over. We felt totally neglected by the staff. There were no activities whatsover and the bungalow felt like it could fall apart any time. Koh Lanta itself also felt a bit run down - maybe due to the aftermath of the tsunami and the low season?
Staff very friendly, good decoration and layout of the place, peaceful. Breakfast could have had more options to offer, also very funny about budgeting toilet paper in the rooms (no spare rolls at the room, only limited number of sheets per day per room, strange :-P
Room is great, super location International food in kitchen is very poor, them again manager Erin made up for it, such a nice guy.
Everything, this is a great hotel for people who like a quiet and peacefull stay. Nice beach, the bungalows are set up in a gardenlike environment and the restaurant, pool and garden (spa) are almost on the beach. Staff is very friendly. The hotel organised some parties when we stayed there. I don't think the type of parties did fit the hotel. For example one day they organised an afternoon-cocktail hour with loud dance-music, which did not really match with the peacefull atmosphere of the hotel and garden itself. I prefer some nice lounge music or nothing at all.
The service was the best my husband and I have ever experienced at a resort. Food was gorgeous and location on the beach, lovely. Everyone was incredibly friendly. It was our delayed honeymoon, got married in feb this year and they really spoilt us. it was quite sad to leave. The room was lovely but thought it would be a little more special considering the price.
Small resort with excellent pool. Pool side staff very attentive and everyone did their best to ensure no detail was overlooked. The beach was heavily polluted with every kind of plastic bottle, debris and muck. Although somewhat cleared on the beach directly infront of the hotel, most debris was simply pushed to the sides. Walking on the beach was distasteful. This ruined an otherwise excellent resort, but if you cannot go on the beach, why go to a beach resort?
excellent food at reasonable prices
In addition to adults only, which is critical, the hotel literally did everything right. I've never seen a resort get it just perfect the way Layana did. What is most impressive is that we found the staff incredibly attentive, but only when they needed to be. They did not hover or interfere, but were always there when needed. And literally every detail, from the manager meeting us at the boat landing on the beach, in-room check in, activities organization, to a full time staff person at the airport to usher us through the check in process, was flawless. Absolutely nothing. It was perfect. And I am a pretty critical traveler.
Food was fantastic, one of the best breakfast buffets ever! Accomodation perfect--everything spotlessly clean. Staff of all kinds were warm and welcoming and would do anything to help. The owners live on the site and mix with the patrons--very friendly and take a lot of care of the facilities. Loved that tips were included in the costs--I hate having to carry extra cash around for tips and trying to work out what would be fair. Nothing
The most relaxing and romantic resort for a couple. The staff, food, rooms, facilities were first class. A delight to stay.
Very relaxing and friendly attentive staff, lovely boutique hotel for couple only
The service was excellent. The best I've received from any hotel. The accomodation and food were also of a very high standard. Staff were always friendly, efficient and willing to help with any issue.
The presentation, cleanliness, the pool, restaurant/bar and the Spa,
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Nice pools and proximity to the beach was good. Food was good but expensive compared to other restaurants outside the resort. Because it was out of season they only had one restaurant open. Would have liked to relax at the bar in the evening but it was not open. The gym facilities were very old and need updating!
The beach. It was crowded with families with young children. Internet was $7 per hour. Restaurant was very expensive, with incredibly slow service.
A great welcome, with a golf buggy collecting us from the entrance, welcome drinks and cool towels. Lovely room, 2 nice pools, right on a big beach, walkable from the small port town. Be warned, the breakfast portions are massive - we ordered bacon, tomatos and salad, only to get a full plate each of each item (along with everything else we'd ordered!) Sauna & steam were 'payable', not in the gym. Restaurant by the pool was expensive and not the best food we'd had, kids were racing round our table, and the music was tacky - go else where for a romantic beachside meal. Otherwise, great place to stay!
Maya Koh Lanta is a great place to stay on Island – the location is superb – right on the beach and in walking distance to lots of shops and wonderful bars and resturants, its also fantastic value for money. The rooms and bathroom are of a good size and your every need is catered for by the great staff. Mr Nice – the Manager – is brilliant and will help you out with anything you request – in the run up to your stay (I sent numerous e mails about different things and he always got back to me very promptly) and while you are actually there. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would love to stay there again!
It was really quiet during our stay. I had the feeling the whole resort was ours. Beautiful room with a private whirlpool. The front desk manager was fake. Didnt like her.
Nice pool area. Quiet. Location not very good - quite a walk from a "usefull" beach. Restaurant expensive regarding other local offer.
Stunning design, beautiful Resort Hotel with good facilities. Excellent staff, with good english too. Amazing rooms, lovely pools and a relaxing setting. Close enough to town but quiet and comfortable. Great transport provided by hotel anytime.
Nice rooms with pleasant surrounds, and good breakfasts
We had a family room with own pool which was fantastic. The room was spacious with several TV's, living room and 2 bedrooms all in all very nice. The hotel is quite new, so everything is well maintained. The hotel is too far away from the beach when travelling with small kids. And you also have to walk along a not so pleasant area and then cut through other hotels to reach the beach. We were also misinformed on early check out fee, which resulted us in staying 2-3 days longer than we wanted. Beverage prices (even for a hotel) at the pool were in the high end.
The food was great. It is literally on the beach, and the amenities are wonderful. I loved the dvd and book rental libraries where you could just pick items to read/watch in your room. I would love to stay there again. It is very far to travel to Ko Lanta, but once you're there it is wonderful.
