Located near Lueisn Park and the staff being freindely and very helpful No
Pool area was very clean and tidy. Room was well decorated and a safe in your room was excellent. We felt that as a four star hotel there would have been tea and coffee making facilities in your room, very disappointed there was not. All hotels in England have this facility. The cost of the breakfast was also very expensive.
Thse staff was friendly, the room had nice view Windows could not be fully opened. Breakfast was not included and was expensive (15 euros)
There was a problem in that they had not booked a triple room, but this was sorted with minimal fuss in that they gave us an extra room for free. We were travelling with children, and although the menu etc did not have children;s options, and we were worried about being out of place at dinner, the restaurant staff were really kind and brought free ice cream and noodles for our younger children and made us feel at home. Nice to have swings and slide outside for them to play on too. Rooms reasonably spacious - quite nosiy from car park and main road, but no problem for us. Located just across the road from the fantastic Luisenpark, where we spent a whole day. The swimming pool was really nice but very cold! The hotel was further away from the main shops and restaurants than we expected, but a nice 15-20 min walk (through the amazing Wasserturm and fountain square - you must see the fountain at night).
The fresh orange Jose in the reception desk The bath towel is old and bad smell , toilet is small , the building is very old but the furniture is new
It was near the location where I have a course Breakfast is too expensive, and wifi is not free. It would be nice if it would be included.
Nice TV, room very clean and well furnished.
clean free car park Calm Coffee machine and water The internet access is a RIP OFF !!!! Free of charge, the line is 512 K which is just ridiculeous in the 21rst century. The premium access is charged 10 euros per 24 hours for a promised 100 Mb line...I paid and I had 3 Mb !!!! Despite a complain, nothing back ! the bar is also very limited :(
Clean and modern no kettle in room
room was comfortable and it was a good price. not too far from the centre with lots of public transport.
Great location, whole new object.
My unexpectedly early check in was accomodated nicely Nothing. Everything was okay.
Location close to city center easy access from autobahn The lack of onsite parking is a severe handicap not helped by confusingly signed public parking
Good location, nice clean room and kind reception staff. It was slight difficult to find a car parking area. Hopefully bath.
Selection of Hotels in Mannheim is small - this is the most convenient and comfortable one.
Pleasent location and facilities
The hotel was in a typical turn of the centry building, but with all the modern necessities of a modern hotel. Very nice, comfortable architecture. The hotel was also very close to the city center (5 min walk through a beautiful garden). Internet in the lobby was also available and free. No complaints at all.
Central location was good and staff was friendly, The hotel was being renovated however I never heard a thing in the room. This is my second time in this hotel! I was not informed of the hotel renovations.. luckly they were very understanding and very quiet.
inside architecture and space proportions, deco color schemes quality of materials and outfits Very pleasant for the connoisseur
Very nice hotel and specially very friendly people in the front. My room was big, clean, with a very nice view. It is very easy to find and it has a parking place connected to the hotel, so you can access your car without walking too much (safe from rain). The breakfast was not included.
Very quiet ! Not enough international TV channels
spacious rooms, very modern and luxury bathroom, wooden floors (clean)
Modern and nice hotel, good location! Nice staff, good value for money!
the facilities, the shower in particular...
I loved this hotel, modern big clean rooms, excellent breakfast, excellent value. After staying in some hotels in e.g. Denmark that were double the price and half as good, I really enjoyed this place. Only snag - a bit far from the train station. But this hotel is great.
The cleanliness, location and comfort of bed I did not like the clear bathroom door. Not enough privacy for use.
Early Bird price, free computer to use It would have been nice to have public transit information sent with confirmation, e.g., taking train from Frankfurt airport disembarking in Mannheim at the Hauptbahnhof stop and tram directions from Hauptbahnhof to the hotel, including tram multi-use ticket fares.
The location was great to get to the centrum, staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. Food not available on the weekends and no room service or fridge in the room.
breakfast was great parking at extra payment 12 euro, bed little bit too soft
The hotel was new, so the interior was modern too. I like that. One of my reasons to choose for Mercure Hotel mannheim am Rathaus. The temperature of the shower was fluctuating a lot. Then cold, then hot. Although I knew that there was no bath in the room, I always like to have a bath instead of only a shower. Censurship on the internetcomputer is something I canNOT appreciate. I could not visit some gay orientated sites. I do not like that at all that Mercure decides what is appropiate to see on the internet or not. I felt discriminated by that!
This was our second stay at a well run hotel in a central position that is perfect for both sightseers and those who have business in the city area. On both occasions we have been troubled by overheating of the hotel in quite mild weather. It seems silly, and wasteful, to have to use the room air conditioner to counter the central heating, which we have found particularly overpowering in hallways. Breakfast is expensive at 15E when you cannot put it on the office expense account. Better to eat out.
The welcoming was good and the hotel very clean. Decoration was nice. Very good situation in the city. I had to wait so long for check in, the door of the bathroom was transparent and the room very small for the price I pay. Unfortunately they had to work at 10 am very close to my room and so I left earlier than I thought because the noise was impossible to stand!
You have to pay to use the internet, that is so dumb when it is so simple for the hotel to provide. Also, having so many English speakers visiting the hotel, there was only one channel for English and that was CNN.
Elevator and Escalator was not working upon arrival. Had to walk up two flights of stairs with bags in order to check in.
Staff was vey friendly. There was a mouse running around the lobby and bar area. The staff was aware and seemed undisturbed.
Customer service was excellent and the room as you would expect from a Holiday Inn (or hotel of similar type).
Nice straff and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel was good situated in the citycentrum
Most important is one key per person. Not one between two. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Central location of hotel. One very small detail. Shower would not get hotter than luke warm. Not a big deal.
My room was nice, quiet and clean. Nice furniture and bathroom. Excellent location, only a few steps away from the Wasserturm, pedestrian zone, shops, cinemas, etc. I walked there from the station, so this is also very near. Staff was professional and friendly. Maybe bathroom supplies should be IN the room, without guests having to ask for them. I arrived quite late and really didn't want to wait for someone bringing them to me, and all I found in the bathroom was shower gel and soap. Only German channels on TV (but pay TV was available). Finally, for those prices maybe a small breakfast should be inluded in the price (18 euros is way too much).
The location is perfect, rooms are very clean and buffet breakfast is excellent.I found it was very good value for money and I would recommend this hotel to everyone
Location, English speaking staff Had to pay for parking
The location was great. There were plenty of stores and restaurants in the local area. The pool was a lot of fun. It was a little difficult to find the hotel. The beds were too hard.
Nice pool; great location for shopping; clean, comfortable room Parking garage is a bit small
Very helpful and friendly staff. Room very well equipped. Very clean hotel. Requested non-smoking room at booking but was put into a smoking room. Much to our disgust. Service at breakfast not as good as in some other hotels.
Staff, Great attention to all my requests, especially Karina from the restaurant, excellent attention and kindness to speak in my lenguage (spanish). Small tv.
Gym was not really a gym, pool was very small.
Location Air conditioning not working
Staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful.
Lovely restaurant with excellent food and service. Rooms were very nice. Rooms were very warm the first night so difficult to sleep
Everything was great
The employees and facility. Josaphine at the reception desk is wonderful. Everything was super
I hope to came to germanty and stay a gine in this hotel
Large rooms, comfortable beds, clean and nice staff Dated decor, old TV, and breakfast wasn't great for the price
Efficient. Nice lunch in garden. Wake up call on time!
This hotel like most in Mannheim is overpriced. A good base for the city centre. Arrived on Sunday evening to be told that the restaurant is not open.
IT's comfortable, just around the corner from the Railway Station, at the same town the locations is queit and safe. The rooms are very beautiful and clean. The price is high, but it doesn't include breakfast
outdated design, paid wireless internet that then didn't function, no towels in the fitness area, no possibility to iron shirts after 22.00 (ironing room was locked)
The room was splinded and very big (Plenty of space). The hotel in general have a good design an nice layout. The breakfast was not worth the money (17 € p.P). It was basic and you could have a much better breakfast with less money.
external sportsfacilities and free wifi no decent wifi reception in room
Centrally located. It is little bit below value for the rate. It should be cheaper.
food and staff view from window - but could not be helped...
Quiet and efficient in a great location
All good, except for WiFi charges I think the charges for for WiFi, 24 Euros for 48 hours are way over the top, this was was my 6th. Hotel in 5 weeks of traveling in Germany, Austria, Italy and France and the cost was 300% more than 2 of the Hotels and 3 others were free!
Close to Luisen Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Europe, staff was friendly, room facilities (e.g. tea, teapot, shoe shine) above expectations. Wifi Internet was a bit expensive, 12 euro for 24 hours.
Didn't have the breakfast as felt 15 euros was expensive.
spotless clean, very friendly welcome, friendly staff no
The relaxed atmoshere. No hotel parking, although I was able to park within 100yards.
Everything was perfectly acceptable and very good value Nothing
Good location. Original room not liked but staff readily transferred us to a much superior room. Staff very helpful. We did not take breakfast as it was too expensive at Eur15 each. There was no air conditioning in either of the rooms we had.
The reception staff were particularly helpful in obtaining taxis quickly for us whenever we needed them.
The Hotel is situated in a great spot, 5 min walk from the train station,5 min walk from the shopping centre, and the trams are only 2 minute walks away.. no, great hotel..
Staffs are all so kind and having a very good hospitality. The working desk in a room is a little sticky, maybe because of some candy...
The dinners were superb, and the waiter was just great with a wonderful sense of humour. His wine suggestions were very good.Should the opportunity arise, we would certainly stay there again.Thank you for a very pleasant stay.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and no city traffic noise was heard in the room.
I liked the convienence to the city. I did not care for the idea that the food was so expensive and the choice was small. Also I think that something should be worked out with the city so that paying a regular rate for parking the car could be reduced or eliminated.
Hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful and the location was excellent. would stay again Breakfast was very expensive
excellent position and staff, spatious and quite rooms room service was not operating on one of the day during our stay; Internet connection was not free of charge;entrance had steps so we needed help to climb up with the baby trolley; it took several days and tries to get a confirmation of the availability of a babybed, maybe the email address on their website is not working
Stay was short and sweet - no disappointments save for no fig mustard with evening meal :-( See above
The staff were brilliant, the front desk staff could not do enough for you, the food was very good, overall I would give it 10/10, as would my travelling companion. My friend used the leisure centre and found it great. no, very thing was fantastic, a very pleasant hotel.
My room was remarkably small given the price charged. I should have been told that I would be staying in a tiny room at the time of booking.
A beautiful hotel in a lovely location, well maintained and very good food. Having to leave after only 2 nights.
(1) The room (in particular bathroom) was meticulously clean, that means a lot to me (2) The non-smoker room was a real non-smoker, i.e. not alternating no
location I booked a non smoking room but given a smoking room which had the most horrific odour of smoking in it. Value for money 1 out of 10.
Beatiful building, great location, very modestly priced rooms, cheerful and attentive staff. Had a great stay there.
Central to local tours and family.
Room was large and comfortable. Restaurant and beer garden were very good. Breakfast buffet was one of the best we've had. Main bathroom needs a better, more private door (this was the attic family room). Extra pillows and better quality pillows in room. Host was gone after we checked in so we were unable to ask for extras.
no lift. uncomfortable stairs
it was very clean, ellegant ,the staff was nice and helpful
It is a beautiful building, old-style "half-timber" (vakwerk, Fachwerk), nicely decorated and clean. The staff is really friendly and helps without being asked. The view from the (3rd floor) room is excellent. Breakfast is good, but could have a bit more variation. In front of the hotel is a so-called winegarden (Weingarten) which is very romantic. Parking a car is easy in front of and around the hotel. No elevator and rather narrow stairs, a bit difficult for those with walking problems. The bed in our 3d floor room was too narrow and too small for us (two tall people, both over 1,90 meter). The only internet connection is one single ethernet connection in the dining room (so: no wifi). No airco, so during the heat spell it was as hot inside as outside, and oh it was hot.
