The location only ! I can not label it as a hotel but only as a local furnished local rooms; things I didn't like: 1) noisy ;2) door do not close properly; 3) very bad quality furniture; 4) Poor breakfast (only tiny food selection not well cooked) ; 5) Staff very untrained with no or little English. 6) Absolutely no value for money.
the rooftop pool the staff
Ambience & Staff Non
The pool was a good one. The interior of the hotel is excellent. The room designed nicely which gives a pleasant feeling to the guests. There are shortfalls, which is mainly due to their present status as not yet opened officially. Need to provide good tourists support. The restaurent was the bad experience during my stay. The food was highly priced, the self service system was not at all working as the back-up was not in time. Always we had to wait for the items, even for plates and cups.
Rooms were new, spotless and contained all modern conveniences - great bed! Provided breakfast very good and staff very friendly and courteous - typical of most Omanies. Location - though not close to beaches - somewhat centrally located and easily accessible. Competitively priced - probably introductory rates
It was inexpensive.
Very easy staff, and happy, nice place to stay Breakfast was just...needs to get better.
nothing! service, cleanliness of room, window A/C had a loud noise couldn't sleep all night!
the food was good you had only one towel for 2 people. Had to drive back to pay the bill which they omitted when we checked out.
The price! The bed was comfortable, it was nice having a television. Room service was good, and the staff were friendly. The shower - water was red/brown. The breakfast was not very good and cost extra. The AC in room was noisy and smelt of damp.
Location great between airport and business area Poor wi-fi access and bathrooms were very, very basic
It is nice and convenient While having breakfast, the waiter told us in front of all other guests that our package provides breakfast only for 1 person. I did not want to create a scene.so I signed for 3.5 omr, then during check-out the bill for breakfast came to 4.0 omr. The reception staff spoke very little english. My total bill was 54.0 OMR,i gave them 60.0 omr, they have no change.
Staff were friendly, helpful & very polite. Apartment was a good size but lacked all the basic kitchen equipment such as plates, dishes, pots, glasses etc. there was however microwave, toaster, fridge but oddly not much else apart from empty cupboards. We did have cups and saucers and plates were provided when requested - not possible to cook a meal. The apartments were clean apart from some of the kitchen cupboard doors which needed some attention. We stayed for 5 nights and it was a good base from which to see the wonderful city of Muscat and the surrounding areas. Apartment was a roomy and comfortable base to return in the evening - better than a hotel room. Many places to eat out within a short stroll. Secure parking for guests. Better equiped kitchen.
Location is ok, good for the budget traveller the rooms were poor, although fairly spacious. The bathroom was very similar to that of a hostel and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom was pretty awful. Worth paying a little extra to get a better hotel elsewhere.
I was very much happy with the services of the hotel staff, specially the opertaional manager Mr. Daniel.
TV equipment appeared new as did fridge and room fan. Very basic bathroom facilities. Only thing that made the room a studio was a full size fridge - no cooking facilities or equipment - not even tea/coffee making facilities or glasses. Room furniture dated and in need of attention/replacement.
Staff were excellent, gave wonderful directions, very firendly!! Great sized apartments, would make a fortune if they refurbished!! Just needs a bit of a freshening up!!
the location of the hotel is good. the billboy was very helpful. the reciption staff was not friendly except the bill boy and the manager. there is no equipments in the kitchen as well as the rooms. the breakfast was indian food only. overall the hotel was very poor. the staff of the resturent was not friendly
Value for money water heater too small. Insufficient hot water.
peaceful and calm environment
staff is friendly, walking distance to the corniche and beach, the pool is not very inviting, definitely not a ****hotel, unfortunately there is construction work next to the hotel, if you live in one of the room next to it, it can be very disturbing,
The location has been excellent. The air conditioning was a little bit noisy. Poor reception of TV stations.
their general manager very friendly, hotel staff also friendly with us. only service not so good. their services quite slow. I'm booking for a queen bed, but they give me a double single bed. Their excuse, the room is full. The main thing is, I need to pay for queen bed rate. Its not fair for me as a guest in this hotel. Others than that, is good.
That the amazingly beautiful beach was few minutes walk away!
the internet didnt work, th staff on the front desk couldnt b bothered, the pool lookd like it hadnt ben used in years, there wasnt any shop in the hotel to buy cigarettes o something
Helpful and friendly staff. Great rock bar downstairs with a great atmosphere. Was given a room above another nightclub on the first night and a twin room. Next morning when I asked for a double bed in another part of the hotel they gave me the junior suite! Throughout the stay any concern on my side was met with complete and effective service recovery. It's near a very nice quiet beach. You can walk there in 2 minutes. Hotel parking is ample. Breakfast is standard - definitley not punching above their weight there - but acceptable. The first room I stayed in (and many public areas) was very tired looking with a stained carpet and cheap furniture - like a Mediterranean tourist hotel if you like. It didn't feel 4 star. Still overall you get what you pay for, people are what is most important and in that respect it is good value for money.
It will be the last hotel on earth for me and my family to visit next time. This is not a 4 star hotel. To us it is not even a single star hotel.
The saty was comfortable. Spred for the Breakfast and delayed service of housekeeping.
Good value for money, choice of restaurants, great location for beach or town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Not the hotels fault but there was a building site right outside our bedroom window. Didn't need an alarm clock.
Stunning contemporary hotel with as real luxury feel.
the gardens were amazing and the breakfast buffet fantastic and included in the price the rooms had showers only it was a shame there was no baths, the lighting made if difficult to see however made the rooms look great. The room design was all about making them look fantastic but they lack practicalities like some where to put clothes or hang towels. The hotel is on the beach but it's not a pretty spot there are better beach hotels like the omani dive centre
The incredibly beautiful rooms and grounds; the food which was for the most part gourmet; the extremely professional staff; the location/beach Value for the money....it was definitely on the expensive side.
courtesy of the staff, design and quality, attention to detail, feeling special
The friendliness and efficiency of the staff - nothing was too much trouble. Food was great. The setting is not ideal being near to a factory but other than on the beach you can't see it. The beach is average.
Positives: 1. Location 2. Parking 3. Room size 4. Staff friendliness 5. Breakfast variety and setting Negatives: 1. Sound proofing poor 2. Table lamps with broken or missing floor switches 3. Inconsistent towel supply; varying every day 4. Some metal works in bathroom rusty 5. Armchairs were useless and I challenge any human being to be able to sit comfortably on them (later got them changed with slightly better but still uncomfortable ones). 6. Delivery of morning paper inconsistent, one day there, another day not. 7. TV picture quality very poor 8. Refrigerator not cooling (later got it replaced with a working one) 9. No advertisement of New Year party held in the hotel (found about it the day before by accident) 10. TV size not matching with room size 11. Poor lighting in the room.
the rooms are big, clean and staff are very helpful the breakfast,
Lovely staff, great location to the Muttrah Corniche and reasonable price for Muscat. Fairly tired hotel and cleanliness was variable at times
the price of the hotel compare to thier facilities was reasonable the furniture of the hotel is old, the door of the room is not totally secured and also I observed that the rate annouced for the hotel in the website was 100% more from the actual rate mention at the hotel room.
More than adequate hotel for a fair price. In an otherwise expensive hotel city.
Nothing infact it is not at all a family hotel. The hotel is full of prostitution and its not recommmended for family stay The service is horrible and not suited for families.
not much except for the lication 1 km from mutrah suq. helpful male front desk staff. difficultties in car parking. when i reached there they gave me duble room when i booked twin and it took them 15 to chang the room. poor water power in bathroom. so many indian guests there which making alot of noise even the bar with indian singer. if came back late at night u will find all drunk indain and pakestani people coming ot from the bar. in twin room beds were really short. air conditioner with noise plus the noise from the bar so better if u bring ears plug. you shoud keep the door tag in green side so rome service clean the room or u will be seprised as i did when u come after long trip and find that romm like the way left it at. after all this hotle is only for buggetng and resting and that eaven not served at all.
Mutrah Hotel offers excellent value for money. It's rooms are quiet, comfortable and tidy and the location is very good; you only need to walk for 15 minutes to reach the souq and Mutrah Corniche. With its highly competative prices, I can thoroughly recommend Hotel Mutrah. The staff is friendly but slightly aloof. I had to ask several times for simple things like having a separated bill issued and when the internet in my room suddenly stopped working they were not too eager to help me sorting it out. These were only minor annoyances, however, overall the staff at Mutrah Hotel did make our stay very pleasant.
I was my first visit to oman, everthing seemed good and confortable. I could't notice
Food bad. I checked out 3 nights early and was not refunded
location was good for local amenities agreeing on a price for the hotel transport, doesn't always work.
the hotel location is near old downtown and also near new muscat, it was good value for money nothing, every thing was fine
free late check out free wifi location was not ideal - most cab drivers have difficulty locating hotel hotel room's bathroom smelled moldy
Clean and spacious No alcohol / bar; not the friendliest staff
Very courteous staff. Great job. The additional bed provided was not comfortable. They replaced it with a mattress on the floor which was not ideal for the extra 10OMR per night that we paid.
Could not Check in until 1am! I arrived at the hotel at 11pm!
Close to Airport and Exhibition Car Parking space is not enough
Very limited choice of restaurants and not normal Golden Tulip standard of food
It was close to the airport This hotel it too expensive for what a dump it is. This is a hotel that should have be either raised or totally remodeled a long time ago.
proximity to airport cost
Pleasant hotel, clean but in need of refurbishment. Staff were very polite and welcoming. Convenient location for airport which is ideal for the business traveller. Bar is lacking in atmosphere. I thought the bar lacked atmosphere, however as I only stayed for one drink this was not a problem
poor check in / check out, but apart from that.... very good.
hotel staff is cold. swimming pool is cold. furnitures in the room are old. BUT prices are high. I really don't understand why it is a 4 stars hotel !
only stayed at your hotel for 7 hours, while waiting for later flight home in London. The room was fine, and the evening buffet was excellent! However the reason we stayed with you, was to send words, pictures, and video to London. Myself and my travelling companion are both journalists, and were working from the Hotel. We found your internet service very poor and slow, and for most people working from a Hotel away from home or office, internet speed is of paramount importance. if you want to attract business people to your Hotel, internet speed, ease, and access in your rooms is very important!
Location, building style, practical usage of hotel and facilities... Staff attendance. We had a serious problem wat check-out for a discrepance in price. The "Booking" confirmation email (our contract) gives a "Total" price with no indication of other costs apart (Taxes). But when paying we were charged that extra costs that make a considerable difference with the price accepted when making reservation online. The backoffice of the managing system contains this indications of taxes and other costs. So that was a conflict. Fortunately!! The managing staff was kind and comprensible and accepted the costs of our booking-confirmation. However this problem keeps existing in the system, so please try to solve it for next costumers.
Staff members were friendly. I think the WiFi service was mentioned as if it is free but actually it is not! Also, the room was not air conditioned when I arrived though I checked in late and talked to the receptionist by phone 45 minutes before my arrival. The AC in assigned room was direct on my head and last pillows were so thik so I couldn't sleep well.
Great location, but a very basic hotel. While the staff were mostly friendly, the hotel is more on the lines of shabby chic, without the chic =) However, for the time of year (Eid) this was the most reasonably priced hotel. Not for the picky minded. The extra bed was just a foam mattress for the floor. The hotel is dated and in need of major refurbishment.
Only a short walk to the beach and across the road from Ulbah restaurant with fabulous food at reasonable prices. The prices went up by 11 OR during the long weekend, and they were unable to cope with full occupancy, both with services and personnel. Hotel definitely needs some tender care and renovation and maybe downgraded to 2-star.
v friendly staff and good location only a 10 min taxi drive from souk - quick walk to the beach could have had more sports satelitte channels
The location is great, surrounded by some great shopping, restaurants etc...and the beach is not too far away I have stayed at the hotel many times, and have a different experience each time. This time wasnt so good, there was a lot of traffic noise and the cable TV didnt work.
Great location Very old room with many broken things. It should be closed down.
The staff were extremely kind and helpful.
Nej
Booked double room and I was given a suite. Price is somewhat expensive, especially as there are better quality hotels available at the same rate. The airconditioner was noisy in the bedroom and the balcony was extremely small and shared with the airconditioner.
The location, if you are after the beach. The springy beds which make for a very uncomfortable night. But when I requested an extra thick blanket to cover the mattress, they obliged and provided.
Location There was no veg food available
Helpful staff, very good location within walking distance to the beach I liked everything
Very functional hotel - everything you need. Beds good, ceiling fans, refrigerator, tv, telephone,... Ideal location near the beach. Excellent value for price in Oman. If you are sensitive to design, this hotel not for you: old carpeting, etc. (I could care less) No Wi-Fi. Just a computer in the lobby that you can use for internet for 1 Rial per hour.
The location is very good and near the sea, aslo you can reach to the city easly. the hotel is good for the family to stay in. Every thing is well prepare.
Staff were lovely and the food in the coffee shop was very good The hotel is very dated and badly decorated. It is extremely expensive for what it is. It was at best, a 3 star hotel, not 4 star as advertised. For that price, I should have spent a little more and booked a Hyatt or Sheraton.
Nice clean room, good breakfast, nice pool. Location not good for beach.
We were given a quiet room on the 6th non smoking floor and we had a panoramic view south across Muscat. The hotel has an outdoor pool which is quite adequate and is close to the old parts of Muscat with the souks and palace The outdoor sunloungers are of the cheap plastic type
The Japanese Restaurant on the top floor is excellent. Cheap internet access. Decent selection at breakfast. It is also centrally located for exploring old Muscat and beyond. On our first night the noise from the pub "Nuts and Bolts" was horrendous with the Music booming right through the building. We were on the 4th floor and i would hate to think what it would have been like on a lower floor. This was a Thursday night (it went on until 3am) and thankfully we did not hear it again for the rest of our stay.
We had a room were it faced the Indian church and they had festival going on the entire time.(very noicy and loud) We had one towel in the room and had to call for more , twice. Since the festival was going on the parking lot was full and there was no parking. The Hotel chrges of tourist fee and service charge is so expensive(might wanna mentioned the % in the hotel description)
Nice swimming pool and the gym was good
Cleanliness & services are really good. For business travellers, we need wireless internet services, in the room or in lobby or even in the restaurant. Other than business centre there is no wire less internet service. Dial up services in the room is very poor, you dail up today and you may get the connection tomorrow ( Insha Allah )
It is a decent family Hotel for short stays...
This is a good and clean hotel with excellent housekeeping services. The staff were helpful and there is also adequate parking within the hotel complex. The hotel should invest a bit in promoting the different facilities of the hotel i.e. during check-in, the staff should speak about the Japanese restaurant, pool timings, pastry shop etc.
The courtesy of Omani staffs in the Hotel The hotel is very old, needs a complete revamp. The size of the room is very small for the amount charged. The furniture in the room are very old. There is no feel good factor when staying in the hotel
the atmosphere, room service and quality
The sea view rooms, the large size of rooms, the breakfast buffert Poor bar and snack outlets
The staff was very friendly and helpful with the luggage and they were very patient The bed linens need to be upgraded to match the other Crown Plaza hotel's linens
Beliggenheden og udsigten The hotel is worn and was overbooked. The elevator was always busy, it was not possible to get a table outside the restaurant not even morning or evening. Had booked a smoking room but it was not possible to open any window at the room, which is making the room unbearable to stay in, even for a smoker.
The situation overlooking the Arabian Sea. Convenient for airport and town. Satisfied overall
Spacious, comfortable rooms, good quality beds and products. The fact that we were not told that the full buffet breakfast was inc in our cost until the 3rd day!!!
Service and facilities were really excellent - it took a while but eventually on check-in they found my reservation and were exceedingly polite and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and the staff very helpful. No.
- Very nice location not too far from Muscat. Very suitable both for business and pleasure. Nice hotel garden with swimmingpool with ocean views. Private hotel beach. 4 restaurants in the hotel. - Quatity is good and very authenic Omanian. Price hoever is pretty international.
Very good location and the food was excellent the price
we liked the hotels stunning location on a cliff looking out over the ocean and the restaurant at the cliff edge Pool needs updating/refurbishing, didn't like the fact that we couldn't open the bedroom window
The club house
My room was on the second floor and had a nice view of the sea. However even though I am a platinum member with Holiday Inn (same group), I was not allowed access to the club floor lounge and there were no upgrades or any perks allowed. I think that the Holiday Inn group need to examine their policies regarding an upgrade because in any other Intercontinental hotel there is always an upgrade but not in this one. This hotel just does the minimum needed and their customer service is not very friendly or helpful. One needs to ask for a higher floor because the hotel has a nightclub on the lower level and you can hear the "thump" "thump" of the drums as late as 3AM in the morning. The concierge does not have information about restaurants and tours and the hotel is very unhelpful about giving information about independent operator tours. There is no doorman to help with your luggage which I thought of a strange for a five star hotel
Location Very noisy outside and dark hotel.
The friendliness and effiency of the staff the perfect location and the excellent food
Sheeting on bed had holes in. Staff at checkin were very unhelpful
Everything you need available 24hrs, beautiful views and gardens Expensive
Facilities were great but the bar and food prices were a bit on the expensive side. The staff were excellent and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We will use it again.
Located within easy walking distance of nice selection of coffee shops and shops. Friendly staff and locals. Whilst clean, the room was dated. For the price it was not good value for money.
The Service of the people, they just go out of their way to serve you. The hotel is well designed and decorated and the rooms are that too. It was a comfortable experience as a whole.
The room was a bit over priced for the age of the hotel. In room entertainment was inadequate since the TV was many years passed it's prime. The addition of the DVD player was a plus.
