Ulemper: Room was cramped and airless with small windows onto a narrow shaft. Air conditioning couldn’t cope. Rigs were not clean. Terrible pillows!

Fordele: The fact that there was someone to check us in out of hours on a Sunday was really appreciated. I loved the quick response to all our emailed enquiries once we had booked - fantastic customer service. The welcome was marvellous, everything was explained well. We booked an overnight stay - I loved the room, very in keeping with the Arabic authenticity of the baths. The room was tastefully decorated with lots of moorish features which were very pretty. The room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable and clean. I particularly liked the tea coffee and extras provided in the fridge. Breakfast was delicious and well presented. The baths and sauna were amazing, we had them completely to ourselves. The tea service during the baths cycle was energising and refreshing. The exfoliating sessions and massage sessions were heavenly performed with such professionalism. All in all highly highly recommended.

Fordele: Everything was really nice during our stay! The room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable with lots of space and a pretty big bathroom as well! The location is really good. Maybe a bit tricky if you have heavy luggage but close to everything. The 1hour spa included in our reservation really helped us relax. Thank you for everything!

Fordele: Very beautifully designed and comfortable rooms, clean and cosy. The location was very central walking distance to many places to visit. The price difinitly worth it as they included one hour Arabianbath. The staff were friendly.

Ulemper: The check in time was 16:00 and they dont give the rooms key before that even if its available but if this work for you then it difinitly worth the price.

Fordele: Beautiful decor. Our large room was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful considering it was hard to communicate with us as we don’t speak Spanish and their English was limited. Highlight was our relaxing Arab bath and tea. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Fordele: The decoration is mudejar head to toes, the room is the biggest I‘ve ever been and everything smells beautifully exotic.

Fordele: Great location. Everything within 10 minutes walking radius. Restaurants (Inc. Vegan, tapas, pizzas...), all monuments and museums.

Ulemper: Tiny shower makes difficult to wash your feet. Great for quick morning showers, though.

Fordele: The location was excellent! The hotel has been beautifully restored by the owners and the decor was lovely.

Ulemper: We drove from Madrid and finding the property was really difficult. There was no kettle in the room but the owner told us we could use the coffee machine in the breakfast area. We did this twice and was then scolded by a member of staff. When I was next going out I was again scolded by another staff member at reception. I felt very uncomfortable after this. Breakfast was basic and I feel for what was on offer (no teabags for 3 days) that the cost should be included in the room price. My husband’s complaint was he had to wake up the night receptionist to unlock the front door so that he could go for a run each morning. This added to the feeling that you were an unwanted guest in someone’s home.

Fordele: Great location. Next door to Cathedral in centre of old town so easy walk to everywhere.

Ulemper: Tiny shower. Distance between car park and hotel. Said to be 4minute walk. With our pull along and carry on case up and down steep inclines it took a lot longer.

Fordele: Morgenmaden var ok,. Brødet var uinteressant. ost og skinke ok. Teen som andre steder i Spanien, posete. Beliggenheden fin. Kunne altid finde hjem, fordi det er lige ved siden af Katedralen. Vigtigt i denne ret uoverskuelige by. Den afslappede private stemning var dejlig.

Fordele: This is a beautiful, historic property. The breakfast was beyond expectations.

Fordele: Great location right next to the cathedral so we were always able to find our way back through the labyrinth of streets by looking for the cathedral steeple. Staff was great, particularly Nacho who made sure all was good and gave great recommendations for restaurants and tour. Really nice rooftop view of Toledo from hotel. Bonus was the nice breakfast included eggs, Jamon, fruits, sweet breads, yogurt, cereal, etc.

Fordele: It’s a beautiful building located very well, very cosy and well secured. The roof terrace is peaceful with great views. Staff are welcoming.

Fordele: My wife and I stayed two nights. Great location immediately adjacent to the cathedral. Accommodation was where the cardinals resided in the past. Very old styled rooms which are wonderfully atmospheric with enough of the mod cons to be comfortable. Open the window and you are greeted with a nice view up the cobbled street. No lift so you will need to carry your bags up to your room. Nice breakfasts downstairs. Nice helpful staff. Getting to the accommodation with your car is very tricky but possible. Very narrow streets. After arriving and dropping bags and checking in, parking back down another narrow street to parking station. Town very interesting to walk around but quite up and down which you expect in hill top towns. Spectacular cathedral. Great restaurants.

Fordele: The old building was very charming and the location being in the middle of the historic and beautiful town was very nice.

Ulemper: There was no lobby and the parking situation was very difficult.

Fordele: The location is beyond surreal. It is almost inside the Cathedral, but not - so that you have a stunning view especially from the roof. The rooms are clean and the overall building is lovely with tons of character. It is certainly very central

Ulemper: The staff is often not at the front desk or they say it is "closed" during certain hours. So any needs must be prearranged. They will work with you but you must set up in advance!

Fordele: I absolutely adored the view from my room- it looked right out onto the cathedral. I actually had not realized that the hotel had such amazing views until we arrived. In the past, the building was used as lodging for the cathedral’s priests; you can definitely feel the history around you. Also, there is a sweet rooftop patio that looks out over the city. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Ulemper: There was nothing negative about my stay.

Fordele: The location was excellent. It was right in front of the cathedral so we made it the meeting point of location. The staff/caretaker of the hotel was very nice. The rooftop deck has incredible views of Toledo. It was awesome! The rooms/house is where the cardinals stay when they come to Toledo. The room was very clean. We highly recommend this place to stay in Toledo.

Fordele: As soon as we got there, Juan Carlos was helpful and courteous. We had the wrong adaptor and he let us borrow one, he carried our luggage up a story ... Santo Tomé is in a central location, it is very clean and had all we needed for our stay.

Fordele: The manager/owner was so helpful and spoke good English, he was always available for advice and a kind word. The beds were firm and comfortable. The room was very clean. Loved the balcony for views, the morning sun, and people watching. The location was in the old town, the street, Santo Tomé was close to everything.

Fordele: The owner was so friendly and helpful. I really appreciated this. The location was fantastic. Also, it says hostel but it exceeded our expectations so much with how clean and just fantastic it was. One of the best hostels we’ve stayed in by far!! If we came back to Toledo we would stay here!

Fordele: The location was very convenient. Jose was very helpful in getting us a taxi the day we left. He patiently answered all of our questions when we arrived. The hotel is extremely clean. We had a triple room on the third floor. It was quiet, clean, and roomy enough for 3 people.

Fordele: Very good location in a quieter but still easy to find part of Toledo. Farther away from the day tourists that are crowded in Zocodover.

Ulemper: Slightly confusing entrance to the hostal through the store. After hours (when store is closed), the lift is only available from the first floor (since the ground floor lift is through the store).

Fordele: The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The beds were very firm and comfortable. The room was immaculately clean. The balcony was awesome for views and people watching. The location was ideal, close to everything but on the edge of the biggest tourist area.

Ulemper: Only minor things: The internet was spotty at times and it was a little noisy on Saturday night.

Ulemper: Not renovated, rooms are getting old. Bathrooms damaged clogged washbasins (both). Reception did not take care of our problem, not even a discount. Spa is very dirty, and stinks. That hotel has absolutely never been maintained properly for years. In the past, was nice. But now, better not stop here ! And parking 10 euros... for an hotel in the middle of nowhere. Very far from the center... restaurant car is very restrictive and wine list is poor and low quality. If you like 4 or 5 stars hotels, don’t come to this one ! (It’s a 3 stars Spanish level, no better). But still not maintained

Fordele: It was gorgeous, everything amazing, it has transfer to the city center.

Ulemper: Unfortunately they lacked staff in the restaurant/bar (they were kind of slow). We made a reservation to the restaurant and when we got there it wasn’t scheduled (at least there was available tables)

Ulemper: Same bar and room menu for the last 6 years

Fordele: My third time in this hotel and the reason why I always stay here when in Toledo is the size of the rooms, great breakfast, nice pool area and great gym. And when it's a 5 star hotel, everything just works really well. If you need to work, even the basic rooms are huge and they have a good work desk with comfortable office chair.

Ulemper: Well the only minus is the location and it's a bit far from the old town. But that's no problem and taxis are really cheap and also the hotel has a free transfer bus time to time.

Fordele: The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We had massages in the spa and they were wonderfully relaxing. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Ulemper: We had a non smoking room as requested however when we arrived it smelt of smoke and there was an ashtray with cigarette ends in it on our balcony. This was rectified immediately by staff however. It would have been good if there had been a smaller more intimate bar area - it is in the main atrium and is very impersonal. The pool area is lovely however missing some mosaic tiles.

Fordele: This hotel is right in the centre of the old town. We asked for some recommendations on places to eat and they recommended there own restaurant and several near by establishments, although only there 24 hours we ate in their restaurant for dinner and a recommendation for lunch and both were excellent. Everything within easy walking distance but the town is also very hilly.

Ulemper: If you fancied a drink in the Hotel bar it did not open until 8pm, the same time as the restaurant, but there was a couple of local bars across the road in a little square.

Fordele: Secure parking

Ulemper: Rooms are a little dated

Fordele: Easy to find, good parking, great friendly staff, great room, all facilities including a whirlpool bath. Nothing to dislike. Great breakfast choice.

Ulemper: Nothing. Restaurant was more fine dining and a little expensive for us but there were snacks and tapas available in the bar.

Fordele: Clean comfortable and very good breakfast

Fordele: Friendly welcoming staff; secure under cover parking and easy access into the town which was beautiful. Room was huge and bathroom excellent with spa bath, shower and bidet all very clean.

Ulemper: Restaurant was quite expensive and needed a more varied menu so we ate elsewhere. We did not have breakfast as this was also expensive compared to other places we stayed on this trip.

Ulemper: We ended up in the handicapped room which was right outside the restaurant. To many people gathered ther early in the A.M. and were not very quiet or respectful of other guests in the hotel. Whomever was on the front desk should have asked them to move.

Fordele: Right in the middle of all the Toledo action, we were able to walk everywhere quickly from Hotel Carlos V. Incredible view from the rooftop bar! Our room was clean and a good size. Breakfast was also a great spread with plenty of options. Would stay again

Fordele: Hotel Carlos V was in a great location in the old town, staff were very helpful - Pablo made a good recommendation for dinner called Los Cuatro Tiempos . The breakfast was excellent and in a very interesting Mudejar style decor. Highly recommended. We caught a taxi to the hotel from the station which cost about 8€.

Fordele: The staff is most helpful, I messed up my reservation, they fixed it with a smile. The hotel is right in the historical centre, stylish, it has a character, it's welcoming. An excellent breakfast buffet was included in the very reasonable price. Cozy, comfortable, exceptionally clean, will definitely stay there again

Ulemper: I was notified the swimming pool had closed during 9/15~2020/6/12. But I arrived at 9/23 and saw people were swimming. However I prepared nothing and been arranged at the room facing the pool. It was a very bad experience for tourists.

Ulemper: It is a nice hotel, but seems the staffs knew that they are very popular, so show kind of cocky, less friendly. By the way, the room was not big as most of ppl described on booking.com, especially for 3 ppl.

Fordele: This is a gem of a hotel. Calm, clean and in an excellent location. Breakfast was copious and very good value. Moreover it was served quickly. Staff are most helpful. A small ground floor sittingroom is available to guests. WIFI is excellent. Staff provided helpful information on restaurants and sightseeign facilities. I can recommend it unreservedly.

Ulemper: Very narrow streets not suitable for cars. This information should have been indicated before booking. Car park was unsuitable so I had to park elsewhere.

Fordele: Full of character and very friendly and helpful staff. Great location and the breakfast for 5 euros was excellent.

Ulemper: This is not a complaint, just a comment. If you are driving to the hotel the roads in the centre are very very very narrow, if you have a big car (we have a Mercedes E class) it is really tricky. Gold star to my husband for managing to negotiate the roads and for getting in and out of the car park.

Fordele: We had an enjoyable stay here. The hallway was decorated with ceramic tile giving it a sense of the past. The location is right in the middle of the old town - busy during the day but very quiet at night. The rooftop patio is a real highlight especially at night with a view of the cathedral. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of them guided my husband in and out of the garage as it was a tight fit.

Ulemper: There could be more choices for breakfast instead of a set menu of a couple of things. Finding the place had its challenges because of the narrowness of the streets and the pedestrians walking in front of the car.

Ulemper: We were asked to leave at 1 :30 PM. We were about to, but we did arrive at 5 AM. I would have given me a later check-out, say 3 PM.

Fordele: Massive comfortable bed (about 8ft wide!) Large terrace with city view (in room 204) Large variety of breakfasts. Bar/restaurant terrace overlooking the city. Nearly everything. Large shower.

Ulemper: Barely useful air-con. Minimum temperature, full blast barely enough to cool the room and it wasn’t that hot outside. Toilet too close to the sink made for awkward seating. Location is definitely not for people with mobility issues.

Fordele: Staff very helpful. Lovely meal in the restaurant-medallion of beef gorgeous. Catered really well for coeliac as well. The views from the hotel are amazing.

Ulemper: Pool closed but wonder why so early and why no outside sun loungers in the garden?

Fordele: The hotel was superb . Our room was far better than expected comfortable and quiet. Location could not have been better.

Ulemper: The lack of a restaurant within the hotel was disappointing , there was a small outdoor covered area which we presumed belonged to the hotel as there was an entrance into a small dining area but this was closed off , and could only seat outside . Having had a long day travelling we decided to eat at this outdoor area. Unfortunately the menu and quality of the food was very poor , Service was mediocre at the best , It was as if the waiter was bored and did only what he had to do. Just let the hotel down. A bar / seating lounge for the guests would have been nice. ,

Ulemper: Excellent breakfast, but rather pricey. No wonder people were packing picnics from breakfast buffet!

Fordele: Room is extreme clean and they provide free water and coffee capaules. I will come again.

Fordele: I was 100% happy but think it fair to warn others that my husband thought it was a bit of an uphill hike into the hold town. Well, it is built on a hill so it’s uphill from anywhere and I thought it was a nice stroll but others may need to be inside the town gate

Fordele: It offers real value for money. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. It has several bars and restaurants nearby. You can park for free on the roads around the hotel with a bit of research.

Ulemper: Be aware that it is a good 10 - 15 min walk, a fair bit uphill, for a fit person to the centre of Toledo.

Fordele: The hotel was clean, well decorated and easy to find. It has its own parking for 15euros. We like the breakfast and the candies on the reception) It is very close to the old town and sighseeing places - neae 7-10min walk. `

Around the hotel there is a small bar and a restaurant Gothica The bar is very strange and doesn't seem to be nice and comfortable The restaurant has a small choice and high prices. There's no other places to have meal in this area But still you can do it in the old town

Ulemper: The room was very very noisy the spar bath didn’t work!! The electric plug was broken so electrics kept flashing!!! It was late when we got back so we just took the card out and managed in the dark. We reported it on check out but the receptionist was not bothered

We had an upgraded quiet deluxe room for 3 nights on the (top) 2nd floor which was certainly good value for money. Everything in the room worked correctly. The hotel staff are charming and very helpful.

Fordele: Beliggenheden var rigtig fint, idet du havde Toledos seværdigheder indenfor kort gåafstand. Ellers var det et rigtig fint hotel i den øvre klasse. D. v.s. at morgenmad, bar o.s.v. var i orden. Alt i alt et rigtig fint hotel på alle måder.

Fordele: great views over the old city and not too far to walk there.

Ulemper: Didn't have a dedicated car park.

Fordele: Wow, What a charming hotel in a setting with simply stunning views. It might be slightly outside Toledo but a regular bus stop is just outside or a relatively downhill 15 min walk: depending on the heat haha. Lovely modern room and cracking shower. Will deffo return to Toledo and look to book here once more. (Big tip if arriving via the bus station. There are new escalators that take you up to the city saving a walk up in that heat)

Fordele: Beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of Toledo tourism but walking is unrealistic especially in the summer heat. There is a bus service which stops at the door which I would recommend using. The room was modern, cool and clean. The receptionist who was there during our one night stay was incredibly helpful, warm and kind. Beautiful terrace to sit out in the evening with a drink. I can highly recommend this accommodation.

Ulemper: The food in the restaurant was quite basic and could have been better. I would have liked to eat on the terrace but that was not possible. I’m not sure why.

Ulemper: Amazing Hotel! Lovely staff and good facilities. The hotel is also close to city centre :)

Fordele: Everything! Its cosy, clean, comfortable, lovely location and it has a small pool but really adorable with a great view of the city ❤️

Fordele: This is a fantastic hotel which whilst located a little away from the centre of Toledo affords beautiful views of the city itself. Unfortunately I only stayed one night but would have been happy to spend longer relaxing around the pool taking in the views.

Ulemper: The walk into town whilst not particularly long can add to an already strenuous day of exploring the ups and downs of the streets of Toledo. However I only feel this is an issue with the heat in the middle of summer.

Fordele: Friendly staff happy to speak English. Room comfortable and pool a nice addition. Breakfast a good selection of breads, pastries and cereals. Would definitely book again.

Ulemper: Nothing negative to comment on.

Ulemper: The hotel could do with a bar service as there was nowhere nearby to buy drinks and refreshments.

Fordele: Location was just right -- not too busy but not dead in the evening. Staff accommodated some personal requests which I appreciate very much :) My room was clean and spacious and had the essentials for a solo traveller.

Fordele: This central hostel was very nice, comfortable and had a beautiful rooftop to relax, make food and enjoy the views. The staff was also helpful, kind and helped you with anything. The room and bathroom I shared with 3 other people with no problem. The mattress on the beds was comfortable and despite the heat, the room also had air condition and good ventilation from the windows. I liked that the room had lockers and a wardrobe with enough space to place your suitcase with the other ones. I would repeat being here :) Easy to get in and out with a keycard, close to all the monuments, restaurants etc. People were extremely friendly! :D

Ulemper: I was not so bothered, but there's small space to move around, a bit noisy when climbing up the stairs to the upper bed. Even though the rooms were cleaned each day, there was still a lot of dust in the room. Since the hostel lays right next to bars and restaurants etc. there can be some noise at night, but it was not overwhelmingly for me.

Fordele: Location is central, clean and basic hotel experience, if that's you thing. Parking is near by.

Ulemper: No terrace or roof area for hotel, no view, staff not very friendly depending on who's on duty. Don't take the breakfast option you can find it outside the hotel for less than half the price also sitting area for breakfast is almost the same for the waiting area designated for the hotel reception. not the best experience. They charges us Euro 12 a day for parking, quite heftily for a small town.

Fordele: The hotel was very comfortable and almost all of the staff was very polite and well trained.

Ulemper: The woman that ran the breakfast service was very rude and seemed to be in bad mood all three of the mornings that we ate there. Management needs to have a chat with her !!!

Fordele: Spectacular location and view of the old gates and overlooking Toledo from our room. Rooms are very clean and tidy. We had an extra fold out bed in our room and still had room for our large bags. If you are driving here using a gps take caution. We were taken down the extremely narrow streets and into the town square before eventually locating the hotel. -We were able to park our car and unload at the hotel. -Parking is available at a nearby public parking space. Felt very safe wandering around this area late at night.

Fordele: Beautifully decorated lobby and room. Nice shower and comfortable bed. Lovely view from balcony. Great breakfast with many options including fresh fruit.

Fordele: The hotel's location was great, the bed comfortable and the room very clean. Also the staff was helpful .

Ulemper: We would like the room to have a fridge and a safe for laptop. The pillows were not very comfortable and in the morning there was a lot of noise outside the door from the cleaning ladies.

Fordele: The hotel is a nice base for a citytrip in Toledo. It has an original and intimate atmosphere.

Ulemper: The third bed (for a party of three) was very basic and saggy.

Fordele: Very sweet woman at the front when we arrived, spoke english, but also responded in Spanish when I spoke to her. Location was great. Double paned windows kept out the noise. View was very nice. Room was nice sized and very clean. Wifi worked great.

Ulemper: Breakfast was spendy and the coffee there was bad. But there were several places within walking where you can get breakfast for under 3 Euros each. For that reason, I don't understand why it was so expensive to get the breakfast at the hotel. It was 8 Euros a person and it wasn't super fancy.

Fordele: Very friendly staff, clean and cozy room, we had room nr 11 with a Franche balcony.. parking bit difficult during the week.. we had luck.. arrived in the afternoon and next day was bank holiday.. so payed only 4 eurs till evening Sundays and bank holidays are free parking .. short walk to the city.. you have to go up the street.. maybe bit difficult for elderly or handicapped people..

Fordele: The room was clean and the hotel well located to the town. But would be a challenge for people if they were not used to walking a lot.

Fordele: Quiet and cute little hotel with a patio from the room. The shower is nice. It’s located across from the old down, 3-minute walk from the escalator to the old down or the Puerta.

Ulemper: Wall is too thin, I could hear the neighbor. Good that there are only a few rooms there, so overall it’s still pretty quiet.

Fordele: 1.The whole decoration! Well done owners 2.The location ! It's just perfect to park your motorcycle ( in our case ) in order to have a walk into the old city .
