Staff very helpfil. Close to DC metro and attraction
Location Room wasn't clean. Carpet smelt like cigarette. They charged me for parking that I did not use.
I did not like the fact I had to pay valet for parking or find my own. I feel if I m paying for the comfort of staying out of town then that is something that should be included.
The location and comfort here is great! Overall very good value!! The room was a little tight. Room had empty box of tissues, could of been a bit cleaner, dust.
Proximity to WH
Friendly helpful staff in downtown DC. The air conditioning in the room wasn't very good. It didn't feel like it dropped below 70F while set to 60F in November.
Friendly, attentive staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Location is within walking distance of many places to eat and a short ride from the national mall. Would stay again. Very cold lobby/restaurant/bar area. Thermostat in room kept malfunctioning. The maintenance guy brought us a space heater at one point. Requested shampoo at one point and three different staff people delivered some three separate times. Very friendly, but obviously some lack of communication. Staff was very apologetic about the thermostat and offered us a variety of comps.
Excellent location for much of downtown DC. Around Midnight my room filled with old cigarette smoke as someone began smoking in the stairwell. The air quality overall in my particular room was poor, requiring the windows to be opened as much as possible. This of course made it difficult to sleep as the city sounds in DC near The White House are loud and replete with sirens 24/seven. Normally, one might cover one's ears to have silence. However, at this hotel the pillows are the size for small children.
It was right downtown near the white house and monuments, so we could walk everywhere Everything closes down so it's hard to find a late night restaurant or pharmacy
The hotel was very nice and extremely close to all the sites (just blocks from the White House). The room, service, and location were far above what I would expect for the price. Would stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting the DC area.
Very clean, quiet and accommodating.
Location is ideal for seeing the museums and monuments. Lobby and restaurant staff are warm and welcoming. If you forget to tip housekeeping each morning, don't expect clean towels.
Nice lobby, courteous staff, comfortable bed. Tiny gym, mold in the bathroom grout, room amenities were average, surprising amount of wear and tear in our room for a hotel in this category.
Large rooms, I had a suite for myself. Nice beds. Staff was friendly and helpfull. Location was fine, in the area of the George Washington University and close to all tourist sights in the city Please change the refrigerator. In was incredibly noisy and I had to turn in off during the nights.
Dejligt hotel hvis beliggenhed er alle pengene værd.
I came down to ride my bike to all the museums and monuments. When I presented my claim ticket for my bike to the bellman my bike had been stolen. I spent 4 hours in the lobby filling out a police report
Location Maids Front desk staff on more than one occasion Very small rooms
Customer service The sofa sleepers
Excellent location. Beautiful view of the Washington Monument from our room. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Very Clean Comfortable beds
I liked the late check out option. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was very clean. The front desk attempted to charge me for wifi even though my reservation included wifi. They expected me to pay or go out to use the public library in the common areas. After a visit back down to the front desk they provided me with an access code.
1) clean bathroom 2) bath tub doesn't clog when you take a shower; commendable on this part. 3) bed was very comfortable. 1) Accepts pets; this should be flagged prior to booking. There should be an option for customers to select non-pet room esp if one has allergies. 2) Business practice of asking for advance credit card signature. 3) WIFI and use of business center equipment are not standard amenities and customer pays i.e. cost of WIFI is based on GB of data.
no self-parking. valet parking only. when I tried to do valet parking, they didn't allow me to do it.
Valet parking was extremely slow and expensive
Good customer service Very expensive hotel. The movies in the rooms are 20$ each. No HBO or any good channels really. Restaurant in the hotel is outrageously expensive (making room service also very expensive). 10$ for bowl of cereal, 25$ for shorts tack of pancakes. Food is really bad too. Like surprisingly very bad. Soggy fries, Bad salads, sandwiches, pizzas
Everything exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Loved the rainfall shower. The valet fee is overpriced. We were unable to get into our room because our lock needed to be charged. This was an inconvenience.
Location The staff (including management) did not respond adequately to their system being down during check in. Problems like that are expected but management did not issue an apology to all guests waiting in line for 30+ minutes and did not show the urgency to find an alternate way to check in all the guests affected by the hotel's system outage.
60 dollars for valet parking no other option
Everyone was very helpful & attentive!
Within walking distance of tourist sites and great restaurants. Comfortable beds! Hotel bar had great happy hour and the bartender made the perfect old fashioned with love.
I think I got bit... there was something biting
Really loved the location. The hotel was a stone''s throw from Metro Stations. The red line is literally next door and the Orange/Blue lines is a couple of blocks away. My wife and I really enjoyed the local restaurants near by. We normally try to find famous or highly rated fine dining for our anniversary but this year being in the middle of the city we went for more street food or local dining. We especially enjoyed the Sunrise Cafe for breakfast and Naan and Beyond for dinner, both just around the corner from the hotel. Lastly, we loved the price we got on Kayak. The average price of this place was $250 or $300, but we caught it one day at $150 a night. Never seen that price again and glad I pulled the trigger! The cost of wifi is too much. Usually these high priced places make even more on parking and wifi, but in this day and age its a wonder that they still charge for internet access. Luckily I have unlimited data and a hotspot on my phone for all our wifi needs.
Location. The exterior of the building was pretty. The doormen were busy talking to help me walk into the front door. They must've thought I belong at their hotel. I didn't like the way that I was treated when I checked in. Just because I have tattoos and wear jeans doesn't mean I don't have money to spend. I judge people based on appearance, as everyone does, but this man at reception treated me like trash. Couldn't even look at me. I asked for a king size bed and I got a room with two full size beds. I went down to ask for water since the room has ZERO amenities. The guy at the front desk handed me two tiny bottles of water. Jeez, thanks for the sip of water. I will never stay there again. The hotel is cheesy, lacks any character, and they need to tell their staff to respect everyone. Young, old, white, black, men, women, tattoos, yuppy, anything. You never know these days who's who, who has money, who has clout.
I came in at 4 and there was no water or mini-bar in the room. They told me that if I wanted a Diet Coke I would need to wait until room service was open at 5. In the morning, they didn't fill the breakfast order -- said they didn't get it. This for $400 a night? Hardly 4 star service.
Excellent customer service and friendly staff.
I would not recommend this. Overpriced, small bedrooms for 250. 27 dollars for a below-par breakfast. Sheets were soiled. No terrace despite photos that claim otherwise.
.... Reserved through Kayak and pre-paid the hotel fees, but my credit card was charged twice for the hotel fees. Second time being charged $490 additional for inexplicable reason. I have been calling them and trying to get in touch with their accounting department since Sunday to no avail. Only thing I'm getting is voicemail and I have left 2 separate messages to inquire about the charges, but still haven't heard back anything.
My room was about ten years out of date, broken thermostat, etc. Entire hotel smelled like a small kitchen with no ventilation where someone had been cooking hamburgers. Gross.
Beautiful lobby, great DC location, helpful staff, lovely room. A value I don't understand but was happy to have. Lovely room. It was great! As a group we did not enjoy breakfast in the restaurant.
Liked everything about this hotel - excellent location near the White House, beautiful lobby, friendly and helpful staff, good quality and large rooms and bathrooms, and the hotel had an excellent rate over the Christmas/New Years holiday period, Liked everything
Pleasant staff Had to call for hair dryer location on back of door.
We absolutely loved our stay at The Mayflower. My husband and I were there to renew our vows on our anniversary and the staff were extremely welcoming, making sure our room was ready several hours before normal heck-in hours so that we could get dressed and off to the ceremony in time. I can't think of a single thing that was less than exemplary- the loveliest hotel in DC!
$72 for 3 bottles of water and 2 cups of tea is outrageous. I asked for still water, three times when placing order, and they brought sparkling. It was late so I didn't protest.
Lækkert udstyret og stort værelse.Meget centralt beliggende
Outstanding service and courtesy were the hallmarks of our stay here. The room was immaculate and well cared for. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to see and do. The conceirge was outstanding in his helpfulness. No coffee maker in the room, yikes, missed that first, fast heart- starting cup.
The room was lovely, and the staff was courteous, helpful and efficient.
Very comfortable and pleasant stay . Excellent service and perfect location.
Location was great. Wonderful room. Two good restaurants with great staff but a bit expensive. All staff members were great! Fitness room was available even in this boutique setting. My son lost his stuffed animal while we were there and they left a new one in the room for him - it made him very happy (they later found his but let him keep the new one, "Freddie". Restaurant was too expensive, especially for breakfast. Fitness room was a bit small.
Staff was excellent; great location The walls are paper thin and the person next door had a party until 3 am. Impossible to sleep.
Everything about the hotel was fantastic, the staff were very courteous and helpful and all made a point of knowing my 7 year old son's name. Not applicable.
friendly staff,premium location.
Staff was very friendly and the room was clean, comfortable, and dark at night. At check in my wife asked about a refrigerator since she is pumping and the young lady had one sent to the room. The refrigerator was broken. We were able to make due with ice from the hall.
Very polite & accommodating There was 1 towel for 2 guests each day that required making a phone call for towels everyday. There was no blanket on the bed, just an abrasive comforter that was too hot. The room was never cool enough. We paid for a room with a view, but ended up with a room that looked at a wall.
very comfortable bed and room Most of the staff was excellent but one person was not friendly and didn't make effort to upgrade the room since the door of the room they gave me was broken. A second person immediately changed the room for the better.
I liked everything. The room was modern, well appointed, with a comfortable bed, and spacious bath. The staff was as pleasant and helpful as any I have encountered in some time. The location is great! I ate in the restaurant once and I enjoyed my meal. I look forward to my next visit. The closet space in the room I had was limited and would probably be tight for two people. This is a very small fault in an otherwise very pleasant stay.
Location and cleanliness
The staff and service was first-rate and the location made walking easy to the various monuments and museums. Also the train station was in easy walking distance. I can honestly say that there was nothing bad about this trip...my wife and I had a wonderful time!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Miscommunication in the lounge regarding a wine selection, and subsequently being overcharged.
Location, excellent door men. No premium channels. Broken toilet that was "fixed" twice but I had to fix it myself a couple times. No water pressure. House keeping only left us with 1 towel. View of a brick building 6ft from my window. Bar staff were disruptive and joking loudly with doormen while people waited at the bar.
The people at the front desk, the concierges, the doormen, and the housekeeps were truly concerned about my comfort and seeing that I had the best possible time in Washington. Your concierges are extremely knowledgeable and took the time necessary to help me find stores and restaurants; making phone calls for me to get things done. My own family doesn't care for me that well! Cannot think of anything. Oh, there is one little thing, the front door to my room, number 302, sticks. I meant to inform the front desk, but it was so insignificant compared to everything else, that I forgot.
God rolig beliggenhed. Giv personalet i receptionen et kursus i venlig kundeservice. Undlad at sælge turistprodukter i receptionen under falske forudsætninger !
The staff was very friendly and knew our names quickly.
The staff were extreamly helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was a very good expericance.
- Facilities were great - Hotel rooms comfortable and spacious - Very nice Gym facilities - Front desk staff very welcoming and corporative - Room wasn't ready on time - Staff in lobby area; not so friendly - Corridors were very warm
Impeccable service and great location.
The staff are great and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Meticulously clean.
very friendly staff and clean room with good linen.location is convenient room too small
Location was the best thing Nothing in particular but it could be less pricey
Attention to detail; Aesthetics; Quality of room; Great amenities; Blue Duck Tavern Pillow too high/mattress a little too soft for my liking, but that I suppose is nothing more than my personal preference.
Service and public areas what you would expect from this mark. Rooms are a bit tired.
Comfortable room, nice bar/ casual restaurant. Enjoyed having Sunday New York Times at our door.
Rooms needed to be dusted. Mini bar is electronic and not a refrigerator; DO NOT TOUCH or you will be charged.
Food. Room. Staff was very friendly Parking was too high
very convenient, comfortable, accommodating the AC was like sleeping with an idling truck - incredibly loud
Convenient Wet carpet coming from old AC Unit. Water pressure very low But overall it's a nice hotel. Would definitely use them on my next business trip
The hotel itself was beautiful and centrally located. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom was tiny, like a shoe box. The room we were given was also part of a set of 3 cojoining rooms, and the walls were thin enough to hear everything.
rooms were clean and beautiful business center was terrible. have to pay to use intenet and print emails.
Doormen were nice and knowledgeable... Rooms were clean, and impressive (but small) lobby. Like most buildings in DC, ceilings were low, scenery was of rooftops and other office windows and not much view. Little advise on best way to attack touring DC other than "If you want to, you can see this or that or use a bus tour"
The staff went out of their way to make the weekend a wonderful experience. The door men were always friendly and helpful and the front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. From the moment we walked in we were treated like valued customers, a simple and often overlooked feature of most hotels today. Highly recommend to anyone looking to make their stay in Washington DC more pleasurable.
It was a clean hotel with nice people. misleading when looking online, it looks bigger than it is. But it wasn't too bad. They do not have complimentary breakfast. It's over priced for what you get.
Location. Easy walk to many attractions as well as to my business destination.
The hotel in a very nice location and the room very comfort. they give to me Room No 403 we can't sleep because of the noise of the air-condations from out side. and the hotel staff are not frindly
Service was excellent They changed me an extra 200 dollars when I checked into the hotel, despite prepaying on Kayak
The suites were large, clean, and well decorated. The kitchens had everything you would need to cook meals. There were two nice cold bottles of water waiting when you got there. My daughter loved the open fire place in the lobby. Close proximity to the metro, specifically the green and orange lines for easy access to the National Mall. The folks at the front desk were very helpful. The washer and dryer was a real perk. We had a great stay at AKA! The tubs are a little high, but I assume so water doesn't splash out.
No maid service
Location - walkable to everything Requested several items - fix drain in tub, additional remote for TV and did not get them.
I liked the comfort and facilities particularly. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and we were a group of 3 adults. The space was large and comfortable. The heating system was easy to manage and the kitchen area was better stocked with utensils/equipment than the place we stayed in NYC. I was particularly pleased to have a washing machine and dryer in the apartment. The staff were very welcoming and helpful with information. The location was also excellent - just a short walk from the White House and it was an easy walk to most museums etc. Our criticisms of AKA are minor. A "light breakfast" is available Monday to Friday. This is tailored to the American market. We would have found it more usuable if more cereal options and toast were provided.
terrace missing breakfast on Sunday
We like the great location and the friendly and helpful reception staff. Scott from engineering is very responsive and dedicated. The cleaning staff is one of the poorest we have encountered in our travels. Their attitude is surly and their work poor. On our cleaning last cleaning day, 30 July, dirty sheets were left all day in the general hallway just off the elevator and our room was not cleaned. It was cleaned Saturday by a resentful staffer, who did not replace towelling completely and we found out later, threw out or bags we were saving in the cabinet under the sink for our own trash and shopping.
I had a very comfortable and modern furnished 1 bedroom apartment. It included a complete, well equipped kitchen and also a washer and dryer--quite luxurious! The public hallways always had a cooking smell--not always pleasant. The smell did not penetrate into the rooms.
An apartment feel in a hotel setting. Very comfortable and welcoming. Lots of space and facilities which made for a luxurious end to a 5 week travelling holiday. great position, quiet- 1 block from the white House and a short walk to the National Mall and close to Metrorail.
There was more room than I expected or needed. The suite was well appointed and felt luxurious. The staff were very helpful and courteous. One bathroom counter was not very clean. The outdoor noises, which were present late into the night, were significant. I'd recommend better, quieter windows for such a nice hotel.
The accomodations were fabulous. Great fitness and business center. Courteous staff and location can't be beat when business at the Capitol. Little trouble communicating with maid.
location of the hotel on center of the capital. in the 9th floor on my suite there was very noise left , which have a big sound when arrive to the floor, so he wakeup me of my sleep, many times on every day of my 12th night.
Great bed, nice, modern room. Amazing location. Our room had a view of a brick wall, very disappointing. The room service was very poor and very expensive. Travel channel fans, don't come here expecting an amazing sandwich, it is no longer available.
Location was great. Checkout was advertised as 3:00 PM, We were not able to check into our room until 5:00. When we did check-in we had already pre-paid for a Fabulous Room, but the staff member that was checking us in recommended we switch to a Spectacular Room since we had a young child. He said the Fabulous Room would be too loud due to the location of being on the top floor under the bar. We agreed to change rooms, but were only offered breakfast vouchers which we knew we wouldn't use. After we walked away my husband said he felt like the guy was a used car salesman and that we got played. We went back to the desk and dealt with another employee (Harry) and he switched us back to our original room and said that the room was not that loud.
Great location also amazing views ,fun staff and lobby had nice vibe turns into social setting with a DJ When I arrived was able to get a room right away as requested but it didn't have a view . And had ask the guy that was checking me in if I had a view he says yes I do , I walk in to my room it was a room facing the inside I of the building no view very disappointing so went back down and young lady was able to get us a much nicer room very happy . During the evening they have DJ in the lobby so when out all day and came back you requested your room key in order to get in the hotel not happy about that
Everything. This place is perfect. It is easily accessible entering DC. The rooms are huge with great workspace. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. And the staff were truly fantastic. This will be my go-to hotel in DC. Nothing. It was great.

The very friendly staff. They all went out of their way to give directions, advise on transport, restaurants, supermarkets, banks and also reservedt a king room for when it became available as my wife and I were in a twin queen room due to a late booking. The first room we were allocated had limited kitchen utensils - no sharp knives, no bottle opener etc
Location Staff 1. The room needed work and updating - bathroom door didn't close, toilet had trouble flushing, stains in the carpet and a mild dew smell. 2. Housekeeping didn't come until called after 4:00 pm!

The staff was amazing!! So friendly, warm and welcoming.
Cool decor. Spacious suite. Fridge and microwave. Some of the desk folks were helpful. Nice public spaces. Hop-on hop-off bus picked up two blocks from the hotel. Near Georgetown, a more laid-back part of DC than near the center. First-floor room close to street. The WORST was the dirty silverware/china they gave us. Also, a security guard talking to the desk clerk at 2 in the morning woke us up.
Friendly service and amenities. None
This hotel is located between the tourism district and Georgetown, making it easy to walk to both. It is also easy to access public transportation for longer trips. It is clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the elevators was out of service, making for a long wait every time you needed to go up and down.
It's a nice hotel, but the windows had blinds only and no curtains -- so it was bright as could be inside the room at 6:30 am. A good sleep experience is important in a hotel, and that wasn't possible here. Everything else was good.
Very well located, good price. would have been helpful if the hotel had a concierge
Location and staff were great. Had 1 bedroom suite - great amount of space for a city hotel. The sleeper couch cushions are a little tired and there were crumbs underneath the cushions.
From the staff to the amenities, enjoyed the room, restaurant and proximity in DC. WiFi in room should be free and food pricey.
Decent room, nice lobby, comfortable bed slow, to non-existent service in the lobby lounge, room wasnt ready until after 4PM. Rooms are smaller in size, and bathroom is not of the caliber of a 5 star hotel
Overall hotel was in great condition and price was right. Wireless charge of like $15 is ridiculous in this day and age.
Great location. Very clean room and bathroom. Great ambiance in the area. The air conditioner in the room would keep automatically changing to the heater setting.
Good location Several smokers on our floor.
Overall, a nice hotel and had a good stay. I especially enjoyed the gym, which was the best hotel gym I've ever tried - had a lifting platform, power racks, and dumbbells going up to 120 lbs. My only complaint would be the daily parking fee, nearly $50 a day. Nearby garages seemed to be charging $20-$25 a day.
Extremely impressed by staff, facilities, comfort, cleanliness and overall level of quality.
Very nice hotel. Lobby was well designed and appealing. Room was spacious and welcoming No major dislikes.
Near perfect stay Everything very pricey, but not out of line with the area.
Very nice, large, clean rooms. Under construction. Gets noisy well before 8am says it's in Georgetown but really it's east of it. Not a lot walking distance
Facility was quiet, clean and showed a high level of attention to detail. Concierge was very helpful for dinner recommendations and provided a perfect location that was not readily found via standard web based search. Gym staff was inattentive and actually were playing 2 types of music very loudly at the same time!
