Hurricane Matthew messed up our plans for our wedding ceremony on the beaches of South Carolina, so we decided to ease the pain with a three day jaunt with our boys to Hyatt Ziva. Having spent a weekend at Hyatt Zilara in late June for my wife's birthday, we were somewhat familiar with the Hyatt brand, and knew what to expect from a quality standpoint. The friendliness of the staff is what we enjoyed the most. They make you feel like they are genuinely happy you are there, from the concierge staff to the kids club staff, and everyone in between. The hospitality is top-notch. The sugar sand beaches at Ziva are really nice. Both are protected so the crystal clear waters are calm and refreshing. The lounge chair area next to Habenero's was the best, being right next to the water with service staff to deliver drinks with a smile. Our 6 yr old can't stop talking about The Kids Club. He had such a good time with other kids his age, playing in the water park or eating lunch in one of the restaurant's, or making arts and crafts together. Total winner in that regard. We were able to enjoy the live salsa band that played Thursday night on the rooftop bar. We had a blast dancing all night long. There were some things that we wished were better. We had a great time dancing Thursday night, but that was it. No other night had any exciting thing to do. We were treated to some nice performances on Friday night, which was Mexico night, so the main area was decorated and vendors had set up shop to sell stuff, and the food was pretty amazing as well, but we still were disappointed that there wasn't another club like atmosphere to enjoy. And speaking of the food, it was spotty at best. Other than the fare that was offered on Mexico night, it was kinda disappointing. We weren't expecting a gourmet experience, but we thought it would be better than it was. The pool areas seemed a little bi-polar. The main area had someone talking on the speaker constantly, with this droll, canned music playing in the background, and the water felt like a bathtub. In contrast, the smaller pool area on the south beach side was to quiet, with no music at all and the water was downright cold. We thought that a little more balance would have been nice. I was charged and international transaction fee by the resort. When I first questioned what this charge was, they told me that it was from my bank. But after talking to my bank today I was notified that it was in fact the resort that facilitated this charge. I will be calling them this afternoon to address this. Overall it was a great weekend.
Staff were all very helpful. Many different food choices. Room in the turquoise tower was the nicest out family had ever seen. Pool and beach area just perfect! Would recommend to anyone traveling to Cancun.
The staff, property, services, and landscape are amazing
North beach and Pool, Great Food (sometimes was cold but good taste), Spa. Intermitent Wifi and Cable TV, extra charges for additional person.
Great experience and facilities. Awesome pools as well as recreational areas including the beach. Loved that they had kayak and paddleboarding for free. The food wasn't great, it could have been better. The service at the restaurants wasn't great, you had to be asking multiple times for stuff.
The hotel was clean, the food was good, and everyone was friendly and engaged. Excursions were easy to schedule and we had a great time every day. Plan to return with kids in tow next year. Definitely recommend. Losing my GoPro to the beautiful ocean waters.... :( Like all of Cancun, be prepared to hear many soft sell pitches.
Staff in every area (front desk, bellhop concierge, wait staff, etc) were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was located right on the beach with walk out and for the price, was much better than other places we considered. Angel at the Spa did an exceptional job with a massage - I had one on the beach and one at the spa and both were wonderful in their own ways. I loved that based on the room we got, we also got our own personal cabana so we never had to wake early to secure a chair on the beach. The beach was kept clean and I like that the vendors were NOT allowed to come up to us since I've been at other resorts where we've been pestered to buy things every few minutes, which can make it hard to relax. Had we stayed for longer than the 4 nights we had been there, I feel we would have run out of the best types of things to eat while there. I would have liked to see more item choices at the sit-down dining. This was my first time at an all inclusive & because I like to try new things, I would personally also like to see a cocktails/drinks menu of some sort instead of having to know what you wanted.
All you can drink and eat. The tours offered in the hotel were about 20% more expensive then booking online
We enjoyed being on the ocean and the staff were friendly. We requested and booked an oceanfront king-size room & we were provided with an oceanfront that's view was blocked by palm trees and the room had two double beds. When I told them of what we requested they were willing to give us the room that we had requested but not until the next day. The back glass door to our room was also broken and someone could easily access our room. We had to call someone to come fix the door late at night. The food was also not good.
Location! Service - extremely attentive staff Beach - gorgeous. NIce sand, lifeguards on duty Pool - lovely Beautiful Hotel. True to the photos. You can also visit the sister resort in Playa del carmen - beautiful. Just don't take the bus there! I would rent a car. Food - not impressive. Cafeteria quality with the exception of a great breakfast and the Italian restaurant. Deserts were not good Spa service good value, but lacked luxury. Staff was nice.
Room Location Food Some part of the hotel a bit worn out
The staff at this hotel is what really makes this the place to stay in Cancun. Everyone we encountered were all so amazing, friendly, tended to any issues that came up very quickly and didn't make me feel like a bother. The facilities were awesome and their beach was breathtaking. Be sure to check Luis at the beach bar for a burger as well!
I liked the proximity to shops. The variety of restaurants and services. No AC for 3 days!!! Mo called numerous times! I had a beautiful parking lot view, terrible customer service with refund after upgrade failed. Leak in room, musty smell in room. Essentially a motel room.
Beach was great, but that is more a credit to Cancun than this particular hotel. Staff was pleasant and attentive The room offered was worse than a low-end roadside motel. They had "helpful" front desk that offered the room expected for an additional $50(lagoon view)-150 (ocean)/night. The lowest end room shown on the website was nothing like the room adjacent to the parking lot that we were given. It was so bad that they actually gave us the "upgrade" to the room we paid for free of charge rather than attempting to get the extra $50. To be clear this is a three star hotel at best and I walked in expecting that. The motel room I was given wasn't even offered at the 2-star properties that I viewed on the travel sites (kayak/expedia/priceline) prior to booking
Food was awesome Time share salesman are annoying
The most friendliest and helpful staff I've ever experienced. They definitely go the extra mile with a smile. The food was a disappointment, and the alcohol was not the best. Maybe having more of a variety and top shelf . You could offer an all inclusive upgrade to offer better selections. the all inclusive upgrade would require a different color band and pay extra.
Food was great as well as location. Great services throughout hotel. The beds were not very comfortable
It was ok. Nothing special. It was too expensive for the value. Staffs were helpful. Old resort. Rooms were cold even I took one of the best ocean front room. The Lock didn't work. Door got stuck several times. To me it doesn't worth the money we spent
Nice pool and bars. Comfort rooms. Close to the beach. Staff always wabt tips. Rooms are not clean. Nothing to do inthe evening. Not putting enough alocohol on the drinks. Low variaty of food.
We stayed last year and came back for more! The grounds are well maintained, the staff is friendly and willing to help. Are flight was cancelled and we were on hold with the airline for more than two hours. The concierge stayed with us the whole time and the hotel staff went out of there way to make sure we had accommodations for the night in the same room. We loved our poolside drink waiter who checked to make sure we had a full cocktail at all times. The poolside restaurant serves the best fish taco's and the overall food was wonderful. We didn't have a bad meal. We love the size of this property, not to big but just enough to keep you entertained. We will definitely be back next year.
The hosted Víctor, he was very agressive whit us abouth the hotel rewards program
By beach, free drinks Staff was rude. Rooms and restaurants were warm and muggy. Customer service was poor.
Great service, best I've ever had I'm in a clinic now with all the typical symptoms of "Mexico", but unless it's from unknown bugs in the room then it's not their fault anyway
Hotel staff were top notch. Bartending staff, especially Armando, Rudulfo & Carlos were great and really made our stay exceptional. All inclusive drink quality was better than expected and includes decent brands like Cabo, Hornitos, Barcardi, Jack, etc. By the second day, our drinks were made without having to ask as they remember your name and what you like to drink. Also appreciated that the lobby bar stays open til 1am, The Michael Jackson show that was preformed was better than the Cirque du Soleil M.J. tribute show that I saw back in the U.S. recently. Food was also fantastic. I especially enjoyed the Italian restaurant and the Ceviche bar out by the beach. Also enjoyed the poolside grilling that was done each day and the outdoor evening bar-b-que dinner served poolside. Pool itself was visually stunning with lots of tropical trees and plants. Pool bars were great to hang out at throughout the whole day. In my opinion, the rooms were clean, comfortable and seemed to have all you really needed. Ours was on first level with great view of pool and large lanai. I would without a doubt return to this property even over the other higher end property that I stayed at during the same trip to Cancun (Hyatt Zilara). Thank you Fiesta Americana Condesa and hope see you again next year. I understand this is a family hotel, but kids should not be allowed to sit up at the bars. Several times, I saw children sometimes with and without their parents drinking non alcoholic drinks up at the pool/beach bars. Why some parents think this is ok, is beyond me. When I have my kid with me, I never allow him to sit at the bar.
The staff was very friendly. Besides their timeshare sales shpiel, they didn't try to up sell us or push us into any additional purchases. The restaurants on the property were really good; much better than other all inclusives we are familiar with. Even though we were in an upgraded room, the new fixtures were already coming off of the walls. Some of the outlets weren't connected to anything. Also, there were millions of ants. They sprayed on our balcony and in the room while we were there. My husband and I were eaten up.
Exceptionally friendly service that was readily accessible for both english and spanish speakers. Nice variety of food. Facilities and grounds were well maintained. Very clean rooms with potable water in the room. Very large beach with a bar on the beach. Sea turtles laid eggs on the beach during our stay and we were able to release baby sea turtles into the ocean on one of the nights. Would definitely stay hear again in the future.
Beautiful poolside view of the beach Comfortable room with amazing view of pool and beach Friendly staff! Great food if you are a seafood lover. If not, you may not like the other options available. Spice needs to add tostadas to their breakfast menu!
Best on the strip
The staff was amazing, very welcoming and surprised us with cute things sent to the room to celebrate a birthday. Very impressed with the cleanliness and amenities of this hotel. Food at the pelicanos could be better, very fried and bar like good options. Would like to see a smoothie bar or fresh juice area.
everything was perfect, this hotel didn't miss a thing. Every detail was attended to. What a great stay!
Room was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food is just okay. Not sure if it's because it wasn't peak season by then.
Can't say enough good things about our stay at Hyatt Zilara. From the moment we stepped foot from our airport transfer, every single staff member that we interacted with throughout our stay was completely warm, courteous helpful, and just extremely nice. I concluded that the reason the property is prettier than neighboring resorts has to be due to the fact that there was always a small number of staff maintaining a meticulous level of cleanliness and presentation. The open air concept of the hotel is neat and helps to provide that tropical feel. As an all inclusive, adults only resort, food and drinks were also amazing...not to mention that they have all of the popular premium liquors (Grey Goose, Capt Morgan, Crown Royal etc). Finally, it's even prettier than the photos that you'll find on the web!
We liked a good food and service was excellent There was no night bar and nothing to do after 9pm. A small selection of restaurants for dinner
the massages at the spa were incredible!!
Awesome service! Very clean beach! Super good food! Great rooms! Loved the "adult only" part! Overall perfect vacation!! There is nothing we didn't like!
Nice food and stuff. Room with two separate beds. Uncomfortable
Everything is perfect!!
Everything about the experience was amazing. Pretty clear to me now why it's a 5 star rated hotel. N / A
When you stay here you know why it's called the "Grand" Fiesta Americana Coral Beach... It's GRAND! This was our fourth time in Cancun, and second time at this hotel. Service, cleanliness, location - water and land, comfort, style and elegance, and food are the best! The price is more than a lot of hotels in Cancun, and it's not All Inclusive So you'll pay for food and drink, but it's worth it!
No shuttle service
Everything about it was exquisite!! I took my husband for his 40th bday. The service was perfect all around. People are so kind and accommodating. The ocean was gorgeous...relaxing, perfection all around!! Nothing!!
I like the facility I didn't like the staff! I had paid for my stay through kayak arrived at the hotel late and staff didnt let me check in
Location of hotel near town, Beauty of Hotel and grounds, cleanliness and maintenance of facilities 1) Beach location was not the best. During February, the hotel itself blocked sun from pool and beach from around 8am to 11am and then again from around 4pm to 6pm. Beach and Pool in shadow of hotel. 2) Too many kids for what wants to be a luxurious hotel. 3) Make sure you use the room sign to declare you want privacy. Maids came in every day while we were sleeping or dressing despite our shouting - please don't come in now.
Great beach although it gets shade starting at 3:00 pm. Friendly staff. Basilic restaurant amazing. Tea bags and coffee in the room are charged as if they were minibar items. You have to pay to use the gym and the spa, even if the room I stayed in cost me US$500 a night!
The staff was excellent, very attentive and helpful and mostly bilingual. We were there in March and the weather was great, but the beach is shaded fairly early in the afternoon. We had to keep moving around the pool to stay in the sun. Luckily the resort was not full so it was not a problem. We did not eat at the buffets, but ordered off the menu and the food was very good.
The resort was clean, our room was spacious, the beach was beautiful and the food was delicious. We cannot wait for another visit.
High quality luxury hotel with compact layout. Pools and beach about a minute walking from the main lobby area. Beach has little surf and is very swim-able. Bars and restaurants were all high quality and reasonably cheap. I took a mini suite which has a seating area between the sleeping area and the balcony. Perfect for lounging in the afternoon. Plenty of bars, restaurants and nightclubs with 5 minutes walk if you want to experience something outside the hotel. Really nothing.
The location of the resort was perfect. Very close to the shopping, supermarkets, restaurants, ferry to Isla Mujeres. The beach on the resort was also very beautiful. The resort itself was also incredibly nice. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely go back to this resort. We had dinner at the Mexican restaurant in the resort one night; which is a buffet as opposed to a la carte ordering. The dinner was very expensive and "included drinks," however the available drink selection was limited to cheap options that I wouldn't order normally. We also ate dinner a little on the later side and it appeared that the food in the buffet was sitting around for a while before we showed up to eat. All in all, I recommend eating outside of the resort. You will get better food at lower prices.
The hotel was fantastic! The food was good, and everything was nice and close. I would definitely stay here again. I didn't like that my booking hadn't gone through and the price was different than advertised.
the cleanliness of the room and good location. Also swimming pool is very beautiful and the staffs are very very kind and polite. nothing.
Everything was amazing! All the staff were amazing, except check in boy. Restraunts are amazing and great service! Bell boys are super amazing and very friendly. Room service was great and loved how polite they were. Checking in was horriable! After traveling 8 hours and having a young man that seemed very irritable and didn't seem he liked his job to much, was a little frustrating. We received nothing paper wise or conversation about things to do or any info about the resort. No towel cards, maps, agenda paper, nothing!! Just a room key. Check out was good. Thank goodness it was a different person. Not really any activities at night though.
location is excellent. Paradise.
+ Property: Nice landscaping, beautiful beach front, excellent "adult only" pool. Overall it was nicely maintained. Royal tower room was beautiful with a large balcony, huge bathroom, couch/sitting area, and unobstructed view of the ocean. + Staff: Bartenders & wait staff at the adult pool and rooftop bar were awesome. Waiters at all of the restaurants were good. Cleaning/maid staff were excellent and kept our room looking spectacular everyday. The Royal Tower concierge (Gabriela) was very helpful with accommodating a special request we had. + Food: Good variety. Dinner at the Oriental, and breakfast buffet were the best meals we had during our stay. - Property: **BEWARE** when booking that this resort goes by "building type" and not "room type." I thought we had booked a room with a King bed but was told there were none available, but we could upgrade to a "Royal Tower Room" with a King for $240 USD. After much frustration and back and forth with person at the front desk, he offered us a "COMPLIMENTARY UPGRADE" to the "Royal Tower Room".......for $50 USD cash he put directly into his pocket. Also -- the 1 and only hot tub was located near the family pool and was filled with young children everyday. There was feces sitting on the steps to the hot tub that were there for at least a half hour before someone pointed them out to maintenance and they were cleaned up; absolutely gross. And if you're looking for late night activities, you'll have to leave the resort because the last bars closed at 100 AM. - Staff: They always seemed to be trying to sell you on something. Beware, the workers in the lobby are not the actual concierge (even though they will tell you they are), they are actually selling timeshare. The real concierge is the opposite direction, near the elevators/banquet hall. Wait staff at the restaurants generally would not refill our water glasses unless we specifically asked them to. - Food: Quality was "OK". There was nothing I would go back for.
Old, ugly hotel, food unatable especially (Oriental and Italian restaurant), lots of young, drunk noisy people. Rooms tidy but IBIS style, no shower cap (even on request), no shower gel only soap. Defenitely not a 5* hotel. After arrival they put a plastic bracelet on your wrist, and you can not take it off for the whole stay (including sleep, swimming, tanning, etc) Very annoying.
Pools, nice views, pool staff very nice. Plenty of options for cable tv. Good location. While polite, reception and restaurant staff completely lacked charm of any kind and I actually found them quite intimidating. The dinner buffet was fairly revolting, not many options for other food, which was always cold by the time you received it by the pool. After giving it a couple of tries, we ended up always having to leave the hotel to get something decent to eat.
Location and some services. Room is not quite comfortable. Small bathroom, TV didn't work all the time and shower wasn't very good. Hotel is ok but for the price I espected much much more.
Love entertainment staff Ubaldo manager of food and beverages was amazing! Super clean resort Multiple jetted showers the best!
A great place, I met my kids there for some relaxing togetherness! The staff is friendly, helpful without being pushy. The place is clean, beautiful and laid back. People from all over the world to meet and enough food variety to keep you from getting bored. This visit it wasn't too crowded but I've been there in the past where you have to stalk out your place at the pool. We went because we love the place and got a great deal through Kayak I couldn't afford it at regular price. I would love to get notification that Live Aqua wasn't crowded and had a deal going on - I'd be there again in a minute.
Common areas, beach, friendliness of the staff, the room view, close to La Isla shopping mall -
Gorgeous property, delicious food, excellent location. Highly recommend ! Staff is pushy to up-sell other products
Nice grounds, although it looks likes its getting a little older. Staff was great, every single one of them Spa was great. The food was bad. I kept on trying to give this place 2nd and 3rd chances to see if they had anything good. But I was constantly disappointed. It was edible, but far from good. The nail in the coffin is when we got a taco from the airport and it was better than all the food we had at this hotel. Room felt a little dirty, shower leaked, shower glass door had someone's name scratched into it.
Food was not good , place could use some updates
The perfect hotel - paradise. Hotel guests start "reserving" lounge chairs by the pool around 7am by leaving towels there; then they don't come back til much later. This is to be expected I guess, not an issue with the hotel itself. Just good to be aware of before you go.
The hotel is suppossed to ve o e of the best in Cancun, but it is a great disapointment
Attentive Staff, Always willing to take in special requests to make trip more enjoyable, beautiful property, the weather is PERFECT in January. Never seemed overly crowded, even with the weekend group there Our airline cancelled our flight and we missed the first day of our trip. We called immediately after finding out but the hotel would not refund our money for that first day, even with proof of the cancellation of our flight. We had to eat that cost.
The pools are amazing, the grounds well kept and the staff are all friendly. The aromatherapy is too strong in some places. Painting going on in the main lobby the day we left - left me with a BIG headache. We had to check out of our room at noon. Planned to grab a quick lunch before leaving but nothing available between 12-1 except room service and a couple of places outside in the 100+ temps.
Loved the Hotel and grounds. Beach was perfect. Service was top notch and attentive to all needs. Had an issue with our room and it was handled in minutes. Food is good and or great. Was there for a weeding with a big group and lots of fun with not a worry in the world.
This place is amazing. We felt like royalty once we arrived. Amenities are top notch. Beautiful hotel with stunning views from all rooms. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly. Entertainment staff was awesome. Highly recommended. I would choose this hotel everytime I travel to Cancun. There were a few ants in our room but that is probably normal for most places in Mexico. The try to stay on top of it. Wifi was unbelievably slow if not nonexistent. Try getting an international data plan that doesn't screw you on rates.
Good food staff Darcel rude and very unprofessional
Great Room junior suite Nice beach Great Staff I would think 2x if you're traveling solo. This hotel was couples, families.
Facilities were nice. Terrible experience overall. Cracked my tooth on room service food and no one seemed to care. The whole trip was a nightmare.
The staff was excellent! Each team member, ranging from the pool staff to housekeeping, to activities were delightful. The property is very nice and our room was especially lovely... Roomy, clean with a great view. You have to get up early to reserve your spot at the very crowded pool. It would also be nice if the restaurants took reservations. There is always a wait for the nicer restaurants.
Food, beach, hotel, attentive staff. The housekeeper stole $100. Not plug friendly in rooms
The hotel was beautiful. Everything was so clean. They had excellent customer service. They anticipate your needs and they were Johnny on the spot. The staff was super friendly and very happy. Nothing to not like.
It is top three resorts in Cancun easily. There could be a shuttle service for guests who chose to pay upgrade for butler services in order to not have to use the not so great local taxis which pick you up at the hotel to get you around often with no air conditioner are these taxis.
Vacation club sales pitch.
Everything was beyond our expectations! AMAZING! A true dream experience! Will 100% recommend to anyone.
Balcony with ocean view the pools closed at 7:00 pm
All staff were very friendly and excited about making our stay the best experience possible. The food was exceptional for the price and the room was comfortable and had an amazing view. Coffee could have been more accessible in the morning and a few more sunshades on the beach but these were minor issues.

Food is better than expected, I found out that Mexicans are nice peopple, and the hotel has a convenient location... We had a grate time so far. We had a strong rain due to a tropical storm, but it is unfair to blaim the hotel because of the weather. Probabilly the hotel staff should take more care in the cleaneness of the swimingpools
Location & ambiance.
The outstanding, friendly staff and the location. The shower design - created a flood in the bathroom each time. The loudness and over drinking of some of patrons. People yelling at 4am up and down the halls.
Very convenient, very clean, very good staff. Hotel was great but I do not recommend leaving the hotel area because it's corrupt and everything is about money off the resort. They are practically try to extort you if they think you have American money. The hotel and resort is 100% safe though.

Location view shows food Did not like the bedding... I hated the blankets and sheets ... would prefer all Cotten and duvets hotel style linens ...
The location of the hotel lies in the middle of the hotel zone, so it was easy and convenient to get around. The hotel staff do a great job of keeping the resort clean, they are constantly cleaning day and night. We were supposed to be given free Wi-Fi in room, however we were not, even though I had a printed ad of theirs. Also this resort expects their guests to make dinner reservations 48 hours prior to arrival, but they do not have this noted on their website.
Staff were very friendly, they go out of their way to make you happy! Resort was very clean. Hotel was sold out during my stay and it was easy to find lounge chairs on both the beach and pool areas as long as you got there before 10am. Food was okay, nothing great.
Good value. Excellent staff, always met your needs, good food. Very clean...great location. Beautiful Ocean front view. Can walk to shopping. Free lobby Wi-Fi. Well stocked fridge. AC worked great. Bed was very comfortable. Lots of hot water. Safe. No free in room wifi. Seemed to be more spring breakers than we would expect from their policies. Had some trouble with room key cards demagnetizing. Beach wait service was spotty. Thought they could use more restrooms in public spaces.
This was a wonderful all inclusive resort with beautiful beachfront property! We enjoyed our stay although rooms are a little small and slightly dated. Need a few more beach chairs as well. Overall, a spot we will return to!
hospitality too many kids food not that great
The hotel design, location, comfort, views, service Wasting people's time to make them listen to the Timeshare presentation, and not giving people a choice to say no to the presentation, promising any thing to get people to the sales people
The beach was ok The $150 a night up sell to get a kind size bed when I though I had paid for one. That was supposed to have a butler but didn't The restaurants close too early . People trying to sell me a time share. The excessive incense and aromatherapy in building 5 barf.
Accommodations, things to do near, dinners, quiet, plenty of beach and chairs. Buffets and general access to food, check in we had to haggle for over an hour to get what was promised to us at booking, the concierge messed up a catamaran booking for us, accommodations were dated and just okay.
Few staff members were very nice I stayed in this hotel few years ago and it was amazing, food, service, rooms, etc. but now it has become a very cheap hotel even the price is very high. The food might look nice and good but it absolutely horrible. If you are used to have good stuff, beware. Time share staff is a nightmare! I know they want to make business but they are crossing the line. Thia time they tricked my parents saying that some lady would nicely take them to their room when they arrived, no she took them to this desk where she spent one hour trying to convince them about time ahare,,, really??? We never complain but this time at check out we explained what we didnt like (food, time share, etc) and this staff member just said "oh, sorry. I will write that down" yeah right!! Also beware: there are 5 different pyramids and the pics that they have online it's only from the renovated rooms. Of course not all of them are renovated and we got stucked in this totally '80's room. Clean but decor is not what thw showed in the website. We pickes this hotel since my parents have been there at least 7 times, we regret to inform that this is the last time! So so so dissapointing. It all depends on what you are used to, that's all.
EXCELLENT FOOD, DRINKS AND SERVICE (IN ROYAL SERVICE) IF YOU DONT PAY FOR ROYAL SERVICE IS JUST ANOTHER AVERAGE ALL INCLUSIVE. THEY TOOK A LONG TIME TO CLEAN THE ROOM (ALWAYS AFETER 4 PM)
Even with the hotel at full capacity, I received the very best service. The royal service
Food, spa and pool
This all inclusive hotel offers everything. From your type of pillow you want to sleep on, if you want aromatherapy in the room, 4 types of liquor and mixers in room, to several dining options available on site. You literally never have to leave the resort unless you want to explore. I thought that with unlimited alcohol included that it would be crawling with drunk people, but everyone was the right type of pleasantly buzzed or totally sober. No puking anywhere that I saw. The staff had exceptional service that I have not found anywhere else. While you don't have to leave the hotel if you don't want to, there are lots of tours and excursions that you probably should look into if you have never visited the area before, and I definitely recommend a night out to It can be loud, and if you like your sleep, I recommend a room with the lagoon view for a quieter atmosphere. It can be loud, and if you like your sleep, I recommend a room with the lagoon view for a quieter atmosphere.
Pool snacks were very good, they also have some activities which are quite fun (pool foam party for example). Zen restaurant (Japanese/Asian) was very good, plus the service was always great. In general terms it is a good hotel but expensive for what they actually offer, I wouldn't recommend it unless it was cheaper (for the same money you can go somewhere way better). The things I did´t like: - Hard Rock Hotels are no the same everywhere, we stayed at Panama Megapolis last year and was nicer, it had better rooms, facilities (eg: under water speaker in the pool) and service. - They host Weddings so you need to consider that large groups may be staying as well. In our case, the group staying was definitely NOT what I expected, besides being way too loud and quite drunk, they where rude, just consider that on the Wedding night some of the girls almost got into a fight with local hookers who where in the lobby bar (smash bar), after this, bar tenders kept on giving them alcohol which I think is unacceptable (toilets even ended up puked) (you need to consider that there were families with kids when this happened, plus, what are hookers doing in the lobby in the first place??).... Ok, we all wanna have fun, drink and laugh, but this isn't "college spring break"!! - Jetted pool is for "VIPs" only and not available for regular guests in the main pool area (the thing is that "VIPs" didn't use it much, so usually was available but "unreachable"). - It is a loud hotel, one night the Karaoke (held just by the pool) was on up until 2 am (my wife says it was until 4, but I fell asleep before she did xD). - In some places the service was not good, one night at smash bar it took me 15 minutes to get a dink (bar tenders where only looking for tips), next day I went down with all my 1 dollar bills and everything changed!!
Fantastic staff!! Great food and lots of entertainment... Our privacy lights were broken, it sounded like a construction site all night just outside our door...
Friendly stay all inclusive w 24 hour room service The fact that we were told ocean view but not guaranteed ... the extra 30% charged for services with resort points
Facility was nice beautiful. Food was great. Room was spacious. After paying $150 a night they asked for an additional $40 for a third guest. No problem their I guess that was the rule of the hotel. We were in a rush to leave and upon check out they asked us to stay so they could review the room. This in itself was ridiculous. If their was an issue they could bring it up after checkout and then charge the credit card after. After they reviewed the room they then brought up something absolutely stupid. They mentioned a small towel had blood on it and I needed to pay 20 pesos for it. I thought it was a joke. 20 pesos is not much equivalent to $1 but after spending over $400 on room , drinks and food they had the nerve to ask for 20 pesos for a small towen. What a joke.
Best place we could have chosen in Cancun for a night relaxing getaway. Everyone at the resort was very nice, a ton of staff (all of which were very nice). it wasn't your typical cancun party hotel - it was very calm, some families, and a lot of europeans/south americans. Our room was great - very clean with a balcony with a sea view (even though we just booked a standard room)! The beach was amazing covered in palm trees for plenty of shade and relaxation. Would definitely stay here again! Everything was amazing but if I had to say one thing - the room bathrooms are slightly outdated. But we were barely in the room anyways so it doesn't really matter!
beautiful beach, and good prices inside the hotel. Staff friendly. Beach perfect for family and relax. Someone stoled money from my backpack in my room and my room had a problem with water, where the water flow through the floor. Maybe I didnt had look but, this was my experience
Nice pool and quick access to the beach. Limited and tight parking spaces.
I love that they have suites with a kitchen because it feels like home and is more flexible. There were bedbugs that ate my dad alive and other customers had the same problem, even though I have stayed here before with no problems. I all also had a booking issue and they were not very helpful. I felt like they felt I was a wealthy American with lots of money so they could take advantage of me. But that is kind-of the overall feeling of the area anyway.
Beautiful facilities. Good restaurants that were reasonably priced. Lovely pool and beach areas. I got a bargain deal, and so got a room facing the street, and it smelled a little of mold. Next time I will splurge and get a higher-priced room.
Wonderful room and beautiful hotel for a decent price. Would definitely stay there again.
location was great and handy for getting to shopping and sightseeing as it is on bus line. Breakfast buffet was great restaurant on beach was overpriced even tho it was good
We felt like what we got at Kin Ha was exactly what we paid for. It's a cheaper option, so things aren't perfect. The room is in okay condition, but who goes to Cancun to be in their room? We liked that we had a small kitchenette so we could go to the mini-supermarket nearby and buy breakfast makings for the mornings. The beachfront was quiet and clean, and the pool area was nice. The staff was very friendly and gave us a little bit later of a checkout. All in all, it's a solid choice for the money. Like I mentioned before, you get what you pay for. There are some things falling apart in the room and the beds were really small. We were only there for one night, so these things weren't too big of a deal. For a longer stay, just ask for a room with bigger beds. For the money, it's a pretty good place.
The view fofrm the hotel is excellent, apart from construction work going on at the beach which I assume is temporary This hotel is a 3* hotel maximum that is sold as a cheap 5* hotel. It has small rooms and bathrooms (building from the 70-s), very low ceilings, unpleasant smell from the bathroom and from the airconditioning, holes in linen. The baby cot that was given to us looked as if it was eaten by dogs - terrible. If you expect Hayatt 5* luxury - do not stay here.
To begin with the staff was amazing! Always willing to help no matter what. We never had problems with anything in the room and if we needed something it was done promptly. The beach view was to die for! The hotel was always clean and food was always good which is a plus! I highly recommend staying here! Will definitely book here again when the time comes! The hotel is general was not fresh. As soon as you walked it you could feel the humidity but the rooms were really cool and fresh so it worked out!(:
Rooms are very tiny, sink was clogged, view is not that good, they charge for everything.
A clean, safe place with friendly and helpful personnel . Good location. Easy access to the beach nightlife.
The place was amazing. Everyone was there to help you and please you. We had troubles with rooming situation and Irvin helped us out so much. He was able to fix our situation and be super friendly about it the whole time. We went over spring break weekend, but the hotel was pretty good about quieting people down during the night so we got a great nights sleep each night! The hotel itself is amazing. It has a great beach, staff, pool, super clean, food, and drinks. I was there for six days and had a blast the entire time!
The beach The wait time in the reception ... And you can feel the sun inside of the lobby
The resort was very average. The location was amazing. It is on a clean part of the beach. They provide cabanas on the beach. And when you leave the resort you are a very quick walk to all the bars and restaurants. We traveled with a wedding party and were able to see the resort where our friends stayed. Although this resort was average in appearance, it was WAY over priced (compared to where our friends stayed and what they paid). The all inclusive is NOT included if you book through a third party (kayak, orbitz, expedia). When we got to the hotel is was $240 additional per person even though the hotel is advertised as an all inclusive on Kayak. Our view was of the loud banging construction that woke us up at 5am each day. When I called to see if we could move rooms, I was told we could get some ear plugs. The construction was loud and early! There is no hot tub at all. The resort is very small. Also, the house keeping staff skipped our room one day, on another day they charged us $100 for spilling a cocktail on the comforter.
The facility was excellent and the location and amenities were first rate. This is an older hotel that has been completely remodeled and unfortunately the staff and pricing have not been. See below. I booked a Regency Club level room expecting something for my money. I got nothing. Everything at the hotel is charged for and I felt like an Economy class passenger paying luxury, first class prices. I was charged for everything from Internet to towels at the pool. This was a horrible, second class service from a first class (supposedly) hotel. I will never again stay at any Hyatt and I am a very, very frequent flyer and traveler.
The location is very good.near to the center, restaurants, discos.also the ocean view rooms worth to be reserved only for the excelent view that u can have.the beacj is nice, clear water, and quiet.nice pool and poolrestaurant also. Very ineficient stuff to the front desk,i had to change 3 times the room till I had to pay extra for a ocean view room cause the most of the standard rooms are on the front of the hotel and they are very noisy(to close to the air conditioning big,big machine).to much umidity and shits smell
Beach was gorgeous. The staff very knowledgeable and friendly. The Grill Restaurant was very good and a good value as well.
The pool area was amazing with lounge chairs built into the pool so laying on one , the water just covered my body---nice Open air clubs full of partners and loud thumping music could be heard in the room at night
The location on the beach, the view of the Gulf, the staff and resort facilities made the week's vacation/business trip memorable. It was all most enjoyable and relaxing.
perfect location for cancun nightlife scene and transportation in hotel zone strange smell in room from the cleaning products, possibly used to cover up moldy smell
- Staff was great - On-site restaurant was good - Location was great. Right next to supermarket and the "downtown" area. Mild blend of local culture and "hotel" culture. - Not far from bus station (10$ by taxi) - Free bottled water when they cleaned the room - Free safe in the room - WiFi wasn't fast, but it was nice to have! Netflix worked just fine. - Shower was a waterfall-type (which was cool) but the water pressure was abysmal - Bathroom was absurd. It's like a sliding door? No privacy whatsoever. - No beach access. Beach was across the street so it wasn't too bad, though. - If I'm picking nits, the elevators took forever sometimes.
the location is really safe to the point where you can walk 3.00 A.M w/o any trouble since there are about 20 taxis just right beside the hotel and there is no way in hell where to get robbed or beat up. Also, the location is the best bc because it is in the far north and it is only 2 mins walk to reach coco bongo. As well as it is right in the middle between activities, so you do not have to worry about any long distance trips. Also the beach is only a block or two away from the hotel. Nothing was unlikable even the design is much better than the pictures.
Hot water was in and out
Lazy/rude just seems like they are not in the customer service business Just really bad service
Amazing Service! They were so kind and respectful.
Location Where should I start
As the other people have said the location is convient. I think it is more beatiful than the pictures. The window cann't open so the air is not fresh. and if there have a mirror in the room it would be perfect.
Nothing The malfunctions alarms going off all night and having more then we agreed to charged to my credit card after our stay. They should have paid us to stay there. This is my first negative review out of hundreds of hotel stays.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful- Sergio helped us book a catamaran trip that was a highlight of the trip! The pool has great views and Guillermo at the restaurant was the best. The rooms were a little Spartan but still nice. The windows did not open and sometimes the room was very cold.
Aloft is really close to the beach and restaurants. It's also close to clubs, if that's your thing, but not too close, that you'd be bothered by the crowd/noise. The staff there is really really nice. We loved the food and drinks at the restaurant/ bar and spending time at the rooftop pool. The pool table was also nice. It was a not big deal, but it's sort of weird that the bathroom doors are somewhat see-through. It can get awkward if you need more privacy.
Great location in the busiest part of the night life zone. The decorative style and ambient playlist is best suited for the younger audiences. Room soundproofing is excellent despite having stayed in a very busy season I had trouble connecting and using the room WiFi despite the router being across the hall from my room. However, I was able to connect in the lobby.
Clean, food at buffets very good. bartenders were great group of people. view and beach were wonderful. Restaurants not so great, although buffets very good. In room bathroom water closets with louver on doors was odd. Nobody wants to hear their spouse going to the bathroom. Public rest rooms were very hot in water closets. Water / mini bar replacement did not happen everyday. Our room was not cleaned one day. Spa was ok, but no tour given to explain what other amenities were available in the spa. Massage table sqeeked so loudly, it was interruptive and distracting during the massage. Why you can't convert to US dollars in the lobby is beyond me.
service, food, location and entertainment
The room was very nice and the cleanliness of the hotel was great. The food was lacking but that is somewhat understood at a resort.
Just about everything. If we needed something for the room it was taken of fast. Food was great in every restaurant we ate at even the buffets we very good. Making reservations for the specialty restaurants several days ahead. We've stayed at Dreams resorts which didn't have this policy. The host just told us how long a wait we might have for a particular restaurant that evening and we came back when it was our turn.
The view and size of the room was very nice. The service. Also some policies were not shared with me that became an issue. Didn't feel the warm welcome and quality of service I felt at other places I have stayed in that area. Overall disappointed.
Service was really good
overall ambiance, friendly staff, great location. None
I loved staying here. All the staff that worked there were so friendly and nice. They knew our name by the second night. We felt important. The rooms were always clean & housekeeping was always keeping the room looking good and even came back at night to make sure we needed anymore towels or glasses. The waitstaff & bell boys were amazing. Anything we needed they got us it was amazing. I've never stayed in a place that catered to all our wants and needs in a very professional manner.
I got descriminated
There is a choice of 3 restaurants in Cancun that can be booked for dinner. They are ok, one of them very good. Buffet food is uneatable. Besides the taste, my boyfriend got a food poisoning after the second meal.
Pools Beach Service Beachfront Cabanas Staff was super polite and helpful Food was really good I'm 29, my lady is 27, and we were probably the youngest people at the resort by 20 years. Older folks were nice, but would have liked more of a mix.
All the hotel services were pretty good! Nice food! Nice restaurants! Nice drinks! Perfect beach! Safety! Good location! Perfect all inclusive, with a lot of other good restaurants out of the hotel also included! Good rooms! Good attention for the customers! The room service has to be improved! Even if you want just some bottles of water you will probably wait more than 45 minutes! They probably have just one person to deliver the orders on this huge hotel. At the first late night after arriving, with all the restaurants closed, i ordered some food and they spent more than 2 hours 30 mins to tell me that my order was already delivered when it was not! Had to talk to the manager for eating some!
First the food was excellent the service was extraordinary as they great you since you enter the hotel, staff was amazing and the pools and kids club was awesome! Super safe for family with children. Bartenders are knowledgable of drinks and very friendly.. The reataurant was very delicious with the 5 course meals. We felt right at home!! I would definitely stay At The Grand Solaris! Thumbs up for food ,cleanliness, staff, and overall the atmosphere was great oh and to add the shows were wonderful!! I miss being there my kids loved it!!! If you want to have a great and relaxing time, to make wonderful memories and enjoy the beautiful beaches and views go to The Grans Solaris! We truly had la passion del Solaris!!(: The only thing was they need to add toilet covers around the resorts restrooms, pillows a bit hard.
The beach, the pool, the breakfast and dinner buffet. (The food was well above average and quite good at times). Great poolside drink service from Roberto, our waiter on more than one day. Our beach front room was a bit bare (furniture wise) but it was clean and roomy. Cleaning staff did a great job. Bus stop right out front will get you to center of nightlife (about a five minute ride) for under a dollar. It's location away from the center made the beach that much better and less crowded. We had a great stay. Time share push after check in. Just insist that you want to go right up to your room and dodge this (they were not aggressive when we did this).
They upgraded us to the Caribe they own next door, we had a ocean view, quieter pool than royal Solaris, some meals were very Good others were just ok, resort beautiful and well kept, staff very attentive, even more so when you tipped them, everyone very friendly, if I went again I would stay at the caribe again. W made lots of friends with the staff and some other travelers. The resort had all types of people including families. Also important we could get a chair on beach or at the pool. The food sometimes was just ok, but that happens when you have buffets.
Easy. Everything was close together. Staff was nice. The facilities are dated. Towels were a dingy brown green color. Restaurants were never consistently open. People come to Mexico for Mexican food and the Mexican restaurant was closed most days we were there.
The hotel staff were the best of numerous resorts we have stayed at. Very helpful, pleasant and professional. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The beach was clean and well groomed. The pools were beautiful. The best lunch was the pizza oven, serving up made to order pizzas! It is a bit dated in the lobby. The food is what I would consider average. If I book another all-inclusive in Cancun , I would look elsewhere because of the food. We usually go for more than a week and I don't think we would enjoy the dining experience here for that long.
The staff was excellent! They were all very professional, kind, and courteous. Our room was very clean, the food was tasty. I hated the fact that Internet was $17 U.S. Dollars for 24 hours! It was supposed to be free! Everyone everywhere wanted/asked for tips.
The staff was good the lady manager Ava was very good too They need to include the Internet
Convenience of meals which are abundant and available 24/7 Staff are very friendly Great view and location Great kids club and pool - highly recommended if you have kids Convenient taxi service from hotel Many dishes were not great; they are acceptable but not something to rave about. Very busy hotel; not for those wanting a quiet getaway Hotel activities are too loud especially in the lobby at night Only two sets of elevators in entire building; not enough for the capacity of guests of building Always long lines at front desk; they need to add more staff during checkout time.
I could hear everything going on in the next room. The rooms smelled very strong perfume odor. The woman at the front desk was rude. Not the best customer service but, ok for the price.
Royal Solaris is a fairly inexpensive all inclusive with decent sea views. Multiple choices in places to eat. Some of the wait staff actually made an effort to make our honeymoon enjoyable. A waiter by the name of Mibsam was the friendliest individual on staff by far. The members working the front desk were always very helpful as well. I've stayed at two other resorts in Cancun and a third in Cozumel. All of which were competively priced with this one and offered equivalent all inclusive packages. All had nicer rooms, higher quality finishes to give a luxury feel, and professional staff. 1. The Rooms The first room my wife and I experienced was less than ideal. The ceiling was so short we both could reach up and touch the ceiling. All bathrooms lacked ventilation so mold and paint bubbling should be expected. The first room's bathroom had a curious layout with lights hanging out of the socket. It was fixed shortly thereafter, but if I had kids I would not have accepted the room. Exposed electrical surfaces in a wet space with no ventilation is a disaster waiting to happen. We payed to upgrade our room to the jacuzzi room which looked much more like a normal hotel room. The bathroom still didn't have any ventilation. in addition, the tile work wasn't very impressive. The finishes looked very sloppy and didn't seem to have a luxury feel. Get what you pay for... 2. Staff aforementioned are the staff that were very helpful and good at their jobs. What I was concerned about is that very few people were concerned about making our honeymoon special. Bartenders were always very nice, maybe a little too nice.. There were numerous spring breakers and Its always okay to let lose. There needs to be more discretion as to when to cut somebody off. Every day there was someone being wheelchaired out. Alcohol poisoning got pretty serious for some of these guys and could have easily been taken care of. ive spent spring break with my buddies before down in a different resort and not only were the rooms and facilities much nicer, the staff were willing to look out for you and help you out.... They were so far gone they couldn't tell the difference between water and tequila. much of the staff seemed to be more concerned about helping/ serving the spring breakers over the families. numerous families found it difficult to sleep at night with spring breakers coming around at night being extremely boisterous. I woke up every night from the noise. Solution that other resorts use... Escort them back to their rooms. 3. Restuarants Always had decent food. Also had plenty of seating with nice views of the sea. However, half the time the waiter would forget our drinks or take a long time to get our drinks. One day I finished my entire meal before getting our drinks. in this case it really depends on your waiter. There are some really good ones and some that don't seem to care.
Best Time EVER :) Where to start everything was perfect as soon that we walk in, everyone is super nice and friendly. Rooms where clean and our View priceless, The food was great no one got sick. They had activity everyday at the lobby and the pool activity where so much sun. A SPECIAL thanks to Enrique Felipe and Colorado they would go out of there way to make us feel like home. Also the Bar Tenders where so friendly and they made us a super yummy Sapitos shoots and drinks. We are definitely returning to Royal Solaries . :) out next stay to Royal Solaris will be in Cabo San Lucas,
The food was excellent. My favorite part was the pool and the swim up bar. They have water volleyball and water basketball. There is always some sort of game going on at the pool area. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. Easy bus ride to the night clubs for 50 cents. All in all I felt that this was the perfect resort for a group of friends (we are in our mid 20s), couples, or families. The buffet could have more variety each day.
