Fordele: Skøn lille perle i det historiske centrum af Guimarães. Hotellet er minimalistisk, men i en hyggelig of afslappet stil. Morgenmaden er virkelig lækker og enkel. Less is more ! Der var lidt mørk på værelset, jeg kunne have savnet mulighed for at skrue lidt mere op for loft lyset så jeg kunne se hvad som var i kufferten, men småting i forhold til stil, komfort og beliggenhed. Jeg kunne også savne at de lavede en let aftensmad, eller gjorde mere synligt om man kunne købe lidt forfriskninger til at nyde i deres skønne have. Jeg boede på værelse M med udsigt til haven.

Fordele: Beautiful room overlooking the garden with a lovely sitting area. Nice sheets and towels and bath products. Felt luxurious. The breakfast was fantastic/ you could choose how much and whatever you wanted. The best was the perfect hospitality.

Ulemper: It rained most of our two night stay

Fordele: City view from the room and illumination of the hotel are very fantastic. The hotel inside is elegant. The garden of the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast is good.

Fordele: This is a very special place. We stayed two nights. It is full of history and beautiful antiques. We enjoyed our large room and beautiful bathroom. Walking the grounds in fall weather was lovely. The buildings are a joy to explore and the location and town of Guimaraes is tremendous. We did not want to leave. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. They spoiled us and it was nice to sit by the fire on a chilly morning. Staff and service were excellent.

Fordele: Beautiful hotel in a historical building with a large beautiful garden. The location is great. It only takes about 20 minutes to walk to the old town. Wonderful atmospheric and well-preserved historic hotel. I felt I was staying at a museum. The hotel is really the best attraction in Guimaraes.

Ulemper: The breakfast could be improved.

Fordele: This hotel is located in a very beautiful area of Guimaraes, in fact a former monastery. The building itself is a wonderful monument and looks like a museum. Beautiful garden and forest behind the hotel. Friendly staff, wonderful breakfast and easy parking.

Fordele: It was easy to walk to the sites. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

Ulemper: Parking was at a garage a couple blocks down the road and was challenging to drop the bags in front of the hotel in heavy traffic.

Fordele: A small charming hotel in the heart of Guimarães. Rooms are compact but confortable. Nice and clean shower room. Freindly staff.

Ulemper: Breakfast very normal. The room doesn’t have gas or electric heating. It has conditioned air but at night it isn’t silent enough.

Fordele: Nice hotel in the center of Guimaraes. Lovingliy retained old house. Rooms with beautiful stuccoed ceiling and modern bathroom. 5 Minutes walk to the old Center of the town. Restaurants and supermarekt close by.

Ulemper: The walls are made with paper. Too crowed at breakfast so there was no free table and we had to wait

Fordele: The hotel is incredibly well situated, the staff couldn’t have been more nice, beautiful architecture. Very happy to have chosen this hotel in Guimaraes

Fordele: Renovated rooms and restaurant done very nicely. Close to downtown sites. Had one of our better dinners in HOOF restaurant and breakfast there was very nice with lots of options. Wifi worked well and room was quiet. Parking was free about 150 m from hotel. If in area would definitely re-book.

Ulemper: Weather had turned cool and heat was on and for some reason hard to control. Minor inconvenience.

Fordele: The hotel is situated in the historical centre, close to all places of interest.

Ulemper: The rooms were too dark, there was no direct sunlight, but also the lighting was poor.

Fordele: In the heart of the old town. Very intimate.

Fordele: Staff very friendly. Breakfast was fantastic, rooms were spacious with a great location.

Fordele: Excellent location in the center of Guimaraes, but still in a very quiet and silent area. Room and bathroom were large enough and clean. Really appreciated the breakfast served at table. Everybody in the staff was very nice.

Ulemper: Room furniture could benefit from some renewal. Also I found difficult to keep windows open, maybe some tool was missing.

Fordele: A very pleasant stay at a very central location with friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend if anyone is visiting Guimares.

Fordele: The hotel is very central, we could explore the city easily on foot. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast was plentiful, fresh and tasty!

Fordele: The room was modern and cozy, stuff is perfect, kind and helpful, heating is working perfectly. Absolutly recommend this!

Fordele: the hotel staff are so nice and helpful; room pretty clean. great location, in the center, with supermarket froiz 3-minute walk, train station 800 meters away. locals are extremely kind; 2 people directed me to the hotel.

Ulemper: it’s not the hotel’s fault, but i have to mention it for your information, a bit noisy. people are so active around this area. with a bar downstairs, on every single midnight, mostly until early morning, it’s just like an evening plaza.

Fordele: Very friendly staff, lovely quiet location and excellent rooms.

Fordele: Location for town centre is excellent. Breakfast was great. Parking plentiful. Nice array of feathered friends outside. Swans were really nice to see.

Ulemper: Two big dogs outside the back of the property who were quite loud when they saw us and our dog. They were kept well in control though.

Fordele: A great place for a glimpse of living in the old Portuguese era. Wish I could have read all the clippings on the wall in the breakfast room. A little bit of bygone days , right smack in city of Guimaraes. Slice of country, chickens, ducks, swans, peacocks @ a lovely attended garden, @ an amazing big Portuguese home. Very close to bus station to visit other cities, walking distance to all old town tourist attractions.

Ulemper: We find it very hard to get very hot coffees.

Fordele: A haven in a busy place. Really interesting historical building, felt as if we’d stepped back in time to a golden era. Excellent feast for breakfast.

Fordele: A rather unique property very well located in the center of the city. The house is very old and traditional, so may not be everyone’s cup of tea if you like more stylish and modern surroundings. However, we enjoyed our brief stay with our dog, as the staff was really friendly with us. We arrived on a really rainy night but the old, traditionally-styled room quickly became cozy after we turned on some heating. There is a lovely garden on the property with trees, flowers and swans. Two dogs guard the property and can do some barking at night, but only if they are disturbed. Breakfast was standard but tasty and the owners were super friendly. The location especially is perfect for exploring the center of Guimaraes.

Ulemper: A little bit damp and cold but this is normal for these type of houses in winter, and it was a really rainy day.

Fordele: Superb mansion, breakfast, host and in addition to this possibility to walk to centro historico attractions.

Ulemper: Everything was OK

Fordele: The accommodations were drab. The entire house was musty and seemed unlived in. The bathroom had peeling paint and some mold in shower. The owner/host was apathetic and even seemed put out by our arrival. The parking, however, was easy and that is a plus in this busy, touristy town. About a ten minute walk up to the very busy city centre

Fordele: Location . Very unique mansion.

Ulemper: It needs some uplifting initiative to bring it to the 21st Century ... Still great experience and a place to remember.

Ulemper: Could not drink the coffee All the bird life in the grounds may add character but makes the environment very smelly

Fordele: We did like the location, the private parking, and the impressive 16th century house. The friendly host did serve a great breakfast.

Fordele: Close to old town and easy walking distance to attractions

Ulemper: Stayed three nights and bathroom towels were unchanged. We had a noise two nights in a row in our room which sounded like a rodent scurrying around the floor. We mentioned at breakfast, owner disinterested or concerned. Very frustrating. There was a comment from owner last morning of our stay that it may have been mother’s cat in the room above scurrying around at night! Owner didn’t offer any suggestions of where to eat or locations to visit

Fordele: Position. Hotel is located just in the city centre. Hard to park but definitely very easy to walk. Silence. Our room was very quiet

Ulemper: Bed. I found it hard and I had back pain for two days. Room. It appeared run down and unmaintained. An inconsistent mix of pieces. TV. Industrial archaeology.

Fordele: The location was excellent, a few steps from the old town. It was pleasant and the staff was very helpful.

Ulemper: Unfortunately, it does not have an elevator. A third floor room is a real climb with luggage. However, the young lady at he desk helped carry my suitcase up.

Fordele: Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, nice view. Great with many pillows of different size. Nice with the little balconies :)

Ulemper: The breakfast was good, but there was not a lot to choose from.

Fordele: The breakfast was great! This is the 3rd. time I have stayed here. Guimaraes is Portugal's hidden gem. I come every year the the fabulous Jazz Festival!

Ulemper: Absolutely nothing!

Fordele: Large breakfast spread! Fun art through out hotel. Staff speaks English well. A place to store a bike too!

Fordele: The Location is Great, and the staff is very nice and welcoming.

Ulemper: No tea and coffee facilities in the room

Fordele: The hotel is really close to the station - great for us since we arrived by train. It only took 15 minutes to walk to the old part of town too. The view from the dining room is great.

Fordele: Confortável bedroom and bed, with a nice desk for working with the labtop and good working order air-conditioning. Nice view and has a relatively large underground free of charge car parking.

Ulemper: Breakfast options could be a bit better, but, considering the price can't complain.

Fordele: Being a tall building the views from the room ana bar/breakfast room were nice.

Ulemper: Only 8 Portuguese TV channels! It's 2017! Very dated bathrooms. Bar had zero atmosphere. Breakfast very ordinary. Functional hotel, not a special place to stay.

Fordele: The location was really good, one street away from the main square. The breakfast was OK.

Ulemper: The hotel building is a little bit old, needs renovation. Additionally, whenever you open the water you will need to wait a few seconds for the brownish water to go away. Last but not least, isolation is not great.

Ulemper: This place needs renovations, is nothing like in the photos. It’s cold and the heating is very loud. The bathroom was the words. I wouldn’t stay another night.

Ulemper: This hotel is advertised by bookings.com as a boutique hotel in PORTO. It is 40 minutes from Porto. We booked this based on an ad on the internet. The hotel would not return our money although they did upgrade the room. They also stated that this has happened before and that they had informed bookings.com and if I tried to argue with bookings.com they would say it was my fault for not doing enough investigation on the location.

Fordele: The reception staff were excellent in all respects.The welcome and care to assist one with there stay was quality.Well done front of house. Further the location is very close to the top sites.

Ulemper: A kettle and a couple of cups for early tea if required would appeal.

Fordele: a luxurious purple and grey location, refined, like a tiny jewel box, each detail very though trough . perfect to soften up the edge , with its velvet tissues and tick floor, all soft. calm

Ulemper: what can i say, so modern it took me a while to find the hidden plug to recharg a phone, or the touch light on the office, are these real problems?
