The staff are exceptionally helpful and the services are first class
The staff was very accommodating. Beautiful view of the lake. Breakfast was excellent. No complaints at all.
It was our 1st year Wedding Anniversary we were upgraded to a lakeside suite, our views from the room was absolutely fabulous breath taking views.Going to this hotel ask for a lakeside room as the views are amazing. The Spa was exceptional. What we loved about this Hotel was the staff I have never stayed in any hotel in Ireland or overseas where the staff have been so friendly. The Management should be very proud of this factor. Already planning our next trip to Aghadoe Heights.
The initial room we were allocated was shabby and needed a good clean - certainly was not five star standard. Had to be upgraded to a better room which was a suite.
High quality room and service .Very good retaurant.Very good spa and pool . Very nice place for a totally relaxing luxury break.
The hotel room was very comfortable and the view of the lakes was beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the Spa was wonderful.
very family friendly
Absolutely totally relaxing.I felt that I had been there for a week not three days.
Efficiency, friendly staff, good service, fantastic location Vegetarian meal options at the inhotel restaurant were unimaginative for a hotel of this class!
Very friendly and accomodating staff, very comfortable surroundings fantastic food. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.Would revisit in near future
The view was great and the room was spacious. It was quite pricey and situating right next to a big graveyard might not be everyone's cup of tea.
warm welcoming and the newspaper and wine in room was such a nice gesture.food as always of superb quality
Good location, food is ok, staff very friendly. Restaurant food could have been better for a 4* hotel
Location of the hotel was excellent for Town and mountains. The hotel was very clean and modern. The restaurant and bar were lovely.
The hotel was well kept and good public areas
The staff were very friendly especially the lady behind the bar who made us feel very welcome. Top marks to her (Sorry didnt get her name). There wasnt anything i didnt like about the Killarney Riverside Hotel.
Nice clean warm welcoming hotel Lunch didn't start until 1pm
Location, price, welcome note & complimentary wine in room(I didn't avail of same, but love the idea), comfortable bed, friendly staff. No, very impressed overall.
The peace and quiet. Helpful and very pleasant reception staff my only request would be that the resturant staff in the evenings give you more time to choose from the menu as I did feel a bit hassled and eating out was part of my holiday and I wanted to take my time and enjoy choosing and talking etc.
The room was very light and airy. Felt homely rather than just another hotel room. Also thought the free wine to welcome you was a nice touch Would have liked to have wireless broadband connection. Hotel location not ideal, a little far from the centre of Killarney
Everything about the Riverside Hotel was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a great view and was very comfortable. The free breakfast they offered was very good as well. My wife and I definitely want to return to Killarney and when we do, we will be staying at the Riverside. Nothing
very pleasant staff
View at breakfast, location, beautiful gardens, the lake, the spa, the whole hotel is very classy and well decorated Would've been nice to have a view of the lake for 240 euros, we were facing the tennis courts and didn't have a balcony, having to wait in line to order eggs, the hot food on the buffet didn't taste great, room and bathroom were small, front desk seemed short staffed for a Saturday
the hotel decor, finish and ambience is great, very relaxing, the staff are very professional, accomodating and helpful. we will definately come back nothing
The staff went out of there way for us. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating. There was a bit of refurbishment still going on however the hotel did compensate us by upgrading our rooms and were very helpful in every way.
The updated brasserie was very nice & had a wide range of choice & reasonably priced to suit all tastes. The hotle has construction work going on at the back of the hotel & the pool facilities were still under construction even though it mentioned in the website that they have both an indoor & outdoor pool. This is false advertising.
Rooms were comfortable The web site indicated that there was a a spa centre and leisure facilities available. The fact was that these would not be open until mid June and I felt that I was misled.. In addition the room that I was allocated was overlooking a building site and I was awaken by the noise at 8 o'clock in the morning by the builders. Furthermore a complaint was made to the manager .
The Spa Facilities The room needed updating
Spa, bar and restaurant facilities service at the restaurant la brasserie
The spa was excellent, very relaxing and the scenery was superb. The only thing i thought was the price of the restaurant was a little expensive.
Gorgeous hotel, fantastic pool area, lovely staff, glorious location. Restaurant, for both breakfast and dinner, wasn't really a 5 star experience, although the prices were.
The scenery was fabulous and the staff was most helpful. As you enter the hotel, the view took my breathe away. We live on a mountain lake in Lake Arrowhead, California, so we were instantly at home. thanks for a great stay. My only problem was the lack of transportation into town. It was such a short distance, yet the taxis still charged $25 euros for a round trip and that is exorbitant. The hotel should have a shuttle for those who do not have a car. This situation would actually prevent us from staying again as we would stay in town to have more access to activities.
For the most part the hotel served our purposes very well as we were out sightseeing most of the day. Found the numbers and presence of families and small children overwhelming particularly at night time in the lobby, bars and restaurant. No doubt for couples with small children it was perfect.
Location was good , comfortable , good facilities . Management of breakfast was poor , long delays could easily been avoided ,
Very child friendly
We had very enjoyable family break with plenty to do for the kids pool games soccer ect Everything was great
activities for children rates could be more competitive
Its near the town centre and there is secure parking.
The Hotel is totally child friendly and provides lots to keep small people busy ! There wasnt really anything .
the family suite was smaller than the one we had previously stayed in. Bathroom door lock was broken. Good choice at breakfast. a very family friendly hotel
the fact that it facilitated our requirements as a family, had plenty of amenities to occupy children and also had tghe facilities to cater for family life in room
Beautiful stay at the hotel..This is the only hotel I will stay in, in Killarney and I am in Killarney 3 to 4 times a year and every time always go back to The Quality. Always find the staff and the stay absolutely brilliant...Thanks very much
The Brehon was a very welcoming hotel. All staff were very friendly. Rooms were of a good size and the bathroom was bigger than in a lot of other hotels. Food was excellent. Good location, about 15 mins from town centre. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
The staff, facilities and the breakfast Nothing
The service was excellent
There is nothing that stands out that was anything near the "best" thing during my stay but if I was pushed breakfast was good. Unfriendly staff
Whole experience Leaving it!
Great room, very clean. Staff unobtrusive but helpful when needed. Alcohol available from the bar in room after closing which was good as I was at a wedding. Service could have been a little quicker when ordering food from the bar, also a few orders were wrong when served.
A very nice hotel with friendly staff and a beautiful choice of food for breakfast and a brilliant evening meal and wine choice you could not ask for anything more. The alarm clock going off sunday morning to end the lovely weekend.
Everything,it's a classy hotel No
Their attention to detail was excellent. Very friendly and efficient in all areas - girls on reception/waiters, etc. Used the Spa, and it was a beautiful experience. Would do it all again! Nothing. Whatever training was done, should be replicated in other hotels.
Clean, spacious rooms. Great breakfast. Close to everything you need. No Wi Fi in rooms. Bar staff not overly friendly.
The staff are wonderful - ver helpful and friendly. The breakfasts are very good - nice variety of selections. The location is great. The rooms are kept spotless. Only one complaint - the mattresses are comfortable, but the beds are made with a bottom sheet and a down comforter. This was too warm for me. It would be nice to get a top sheet or light blanket.
first stay in old weir lodge and couldnt recommend it enough to anyone wanting to stay there , stayed in triple room and it was huge, very bright and airy, decorated really nicely. thought it a little expensive to stay there
It's decor was very rich and it's cleanness was one of its most comforting attributes. The staff were extremely confident and helpful.Food was excellent and all in all everything just ran smooth during our stay. Would definitely return.
Location excellent, staff very helpful in calling taxis etc. Room absolutely beautiful
Was a very nice hotel in a good location. Is parking around the back which is great for motorbikes as they can be parked out of sight of the road. Would stay again.
Staff was superb--- Helpful, friendly, ready to go above and beyond. Lodge is close to town center, pretty property, clean, convenient, cozy ... the incessant barking of a neighbors dog, starting at 3 am .. no fault of the hotel, but annoying nonetheless
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
Nice garden, nice exterior and reception area. Nice breakfast.Friendly staff. Bathroom too small, beds old and lumpy, TV too high, very few channels,TV too small. Room musty. Very noisy overnight.Sky light not double glazed. Walls paper thin.
the confort and homeley feeling there no
We had only one night stay at the Old Weir Lodge, we found it meet all our needs and would recommend it to friends.
Pleasant stay and atmosphere in the Old Wier Lodge.
The location was perfect. Staff were friendly and the hotel room was very comfortable. Breakfast times could be more flexible. Serving until 10am is a bit early for a weekend morning.
The breakfast was good Room was dated and upholstery was not clean
All staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. Room was traditional and original but with all modern features. Excellent overall.
Loved the room, deluxe upgrade, food was excellent and well priced, service from the woman on reception was exceptional. Got an excellent night sleep-we had requested a quiet room and thats what we got. Reception/Bar was v busy when we arrived back after a night out, ended up going to bed after half an hour of waiting for service. There clearly wasnt enough staff rosterted to deal with what was probably an unusally busy occurance. We didnt even complain on check out as everything else had been so good but we were dissappointed to not have had a night cap before heading to the room.
The staff were friendly. I did not like that one person had to sleep on a cot when paying for a room.
Hotel wa very nice ,very close to the town center and staff were very nice felt for a four star there could have been tea/coffee facilities in the room
Nice size of bedroom, lovely furniture in both the bedroom and in the hotel in general. The staff were nice and the food excellant Seating in the bar area was not comfortable, the leather seats were too low and the bucket chairs in the conservatory too small however the bar staff were very nice and friendly
Comfortable, warm - decor, heating and staff, more personal on all fronts than the big chain luxury hotels. Evening meal was in the Restaurant of an adjacent sister hotel - lacked some of the better qualities of the original.
very efficient and friendly staff
Excellent breakfasts. Very good swimming pool facilities. Overpriced extras. ie. childrens ice creams @ £4. each
The hotel was spotlessly clean and fresh .The staff were very friendly and gave good advise about what to see. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was perfect with 2 small children .We would definately reccommend it and we will be returning. nothing
"Suites" is exactly what it is. Two massive rooms, two tv`s, a kitchen, two settee`s. etc. etc. excellent dinner and breakfast. Just great.!!
The friendliness and helpfulness of one of the staff on receiption was excellent resulting in my rating the hotel staff so above. The open shower flooded the bathroom with water. Thus you could not have a shower at night before going out and expect it to be dry enough use it again the next morning. With 2 people showering it was like a swimming pool. This needs to be sorted.
Size of rooms were very good Food was edible but not great. Price of breadfast very expensive.
Lack of in-room tea & coffee and blaming it on environmental health when other hotels don't seem to have an issue with this.
the room was a good size and bed was comfy it was a short taxi distance from local town
The 1 Bedroom suite was very spacious and the location excellent for exploring the nearby national park and Ring of Kerry Unfortunately the suite did not have a fully equipped kitchen, only microwave, toaster and tea/coffee making facilities. Also no wifi in rooms, only public areas.
Friendly staff, great location, fabulous rooms. Sound of television in bar up too loud for people trying to enjoy a meal. Also we expected the 2 bed suite to have ajoining rooms so we were a little disappointed to find that one was completely separate from the living area and other bedroom.
adequate for a couple of nights, good rooms, clean, no coffee/tea making facilities in rooms, which disappointed.
Very large bedrooms which had wonderful views. Ours was on the top floor and overlooked one of Killarney's gorgeous lakes.
,nice hotel , nice rooms, comfortable and relaxing, about 15 min walk to the town. its quite enough would suit older couple ,there was allot of tours of middle aged to pensioners when we stayed, and ballroom dancing etc maybe it was just that week, not sure
it was very relaxing
Great for the kids. Lots of freedom after 9:00 pm for the family. The rooms need to be updated. Our room was very musty
the convenience for the i.n.e.c. you couldn't hand pick a nearer hotel. the rooms are a little dated to be honest. especially the bathroom. my sink was the tiniest ever considering the bathroom was quite large. maybe more modern showering facilities (walk in)
value for money, bar stayed open till 4 am with good entertainment till 4am rooms are showing age and lift to 4 th floor was very old and creaked a lot
clean comfortable room. quiet paper bath maths? my preganant wife nearly slipped and fell. breakfast not included in price. not convenient for town if you don't have a car
In need of a really major refurbishment. Food in restaurant was very poor and unappealing although breakfast was good. Staff in restaurant were not very friendly, seemed a bit bored!!
There is alot happening in the hotel itself at night so you never have to leave
ideal location, very comfortable. there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. i have never come accross that before in any hotel ive stayed at.
swimming pool was nice but changing rooms very cold and no lockers in changing rooms Needs some upgrading.Door of room had a gap underneath so a but drafty and allowed outside noise in
We enjoyed our one night stay however a jacuzzi was advertised, there was even a lighted switch outside the bathroom with jacuzzi on it but there was no jacuzzi. We had got wet & cold playing golf & the jacuzzi would have been welcome. The breakfast was top class & the staff friendly.
Is a comfortable hotel near beautiful places like national park of Killarney and the ring of Kerry. The staff hotel is very kind and help you to organize what to see, where to eat.....
Excellent breakfast friendly staff easy 10 minute walk to town
Excellent accommodations. Superb breakfast - get the crepes and add bacon. My only complaint was the internet connection. Sometimes it's there; sometimes not. I think with computer equipment today, it could be better. But I may be wrong.
The rooms were very nice and clean, Breakfast was very nice
The room was beautiful and spacious with a lovely and clean bathroom. Huge bathtub. Breakfast offered something for everyone and served in an attractive setting. We were quite satisfied with our stay.
Decor very attractive. Tea/cake available in the afternoons, lounge area with lots of seating, local interest books. Buffet breakfast excellent. Very small things; one of the bedcovers in the twin room we had was very faded. The pillows very firm and not terribly comfortable.
top class hotel very luxurious and staff do every they can to help you enjoy your stay, very helpful regards all local places of interests, breakfast very enjoyable, top quality stay. all good no issues
Very welcoming and homey feel to the hotel. It was comfortable, and served our needs well. Also, the breakfast buffet and afternoon tea were a special treat.
the breakfast was good. Big room. Great location. very peaceful. It was a beautiful room with great facilities but the manner of the receptionist/owner definitely took from this magnificent guest house.
Earls Court House is very well run. Breakfast is excellent! It is a ten minute walk to the town and I would not hesitate to recommend it.
The room was a good size however i do suspect that we had been given an upgrade as the other hotel rooms didn't look quite as big. The spa was excellent. The room design was not that well thought out for example, despite having a TV in the room (at the bottom of the bed) you couldn't actually see it at all as the bed footboard was far too high.
The staff were excellent, they could not have been any more helpful, the hotel is pure luxury and the bedrooms are huge
the outside hot tub. Price of room.
Location, decor, spa, Fridge didn't work, too warm for comfort, breakfast was mediocre, not impressed for the price.
WE loved the surroundings, in the park We found the walk around the lake to the cafe a beautiful and manageable journey. We did take bikes as well one day. Within a short drive were lovely sights, including views of the valley and waterfalls. Resort had lovely spa , and morning breakfast included in our stay was delicious. Can't say enough about staff- Chris , Teddy as our concierges, Julie at front desk and Mauve in Yew Tree restaurant. The spa was moved to a new location which was quite a bit smaller, but as long as weather is good, you prefer to be outside anyway.
On arrival the staff immediatly made us feel very welcome. We were escorted to our room by a very well trained porter who didn't leave anything to be doubtfull about as regards to what was available to us in our room and how everything functioned. Wonderfull products in the bathroom. Excellent food, wonderfull breakfast.
Fantastic staff, comfortable rooms. I felt that this hotel did not live up to its billing as a 5 star hotel, I have stayed in other 5 stars and every one was more than a class above this hotel. 4 Star is a more accurate description I feel.
Comfortable rooms. Staff pleasant and professional. Location is opposite National Park entrance but hotel itself quite ugly with grounds consisting mainly of car-park.
The excellent service and staff. Room service menu was good. The service in the bar attached to the hotel was sub-standard most likely due to understaffing.
nice and central for all our needs. thought the restaurant kennys was very good value. the staff were extremely friendly and attentive.
The breakfast. The noise was inacceptable for a 4 stars hotel ( sounproofing inexistant, loud music from function room until 3 o'clock in the morning the 2nd night,. The room was small. The TV was on a plastic unit only 40cm off the floor. There was not any coffee, tea making facilities in the room. Not even a mini-bar. I would not even go in details about the very poor quality of the service in the Bistro bar friday night....
It was quite comfortable at theendof a day of touring. no
the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. the breakfast was ok but not great.
Bar food and bar staff Room 123 which was inordinately noisey
The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the atmosphere was quite relaxed. The breakfast was disappointing. The quality of the sausages, rashers, pudding and coffee were all poor and the portions were miserly. The fact that corners had been cut in this important area suggested to me that corners may also have been cut in less obvious areas. I decided not to eat in the hotel again because of it.
Went out in Killarnay
The room service staff were efficient and obliging. The general atmosphere was friendly and in the main staff went out of their way to be helpful It was fine
while it is very Central to town center,it is also very quiet.
reception staff brilliant because of complications we got bridal suite breakfast
The room was fab, wasnt expecting the jacuzzi bath! Very relaxing stay
I found the hotel and staff to be so pleasant I have difficulty making a choice. I have no complaints
Food was excellent What was advertised was certainly not what we got! The room was the size of a utility, we had to take turns in moving around same. There was no ironing facilities as advertised. Room was far from luxurious as what was advertised.
hotel was very friendly
Location Breakfast could be improved, Tomato was served and was left on every plate at all tables, should be replaced with beans or mushrooms and the breakfast was not very fresh, hot but not fresh
the hotel staff were so welcoming in reception and restaurant. food was fast and lovely. good value on early bird menu. bar was cosy and friendly. bedroom was nice. all we needed for a one night stay. i will always use this hotel when staying in Killarney there is nothing i didnt like
no car parking
Breakfast was quite good and the location was convenient to town centre. Staff were friendly. No parking. Bedroom decor outdated and quality of furntiure not good. Bathroom fittings need updating and water was not hot enough and shower was not working proiperly. Ate lunch in area beside bar on Thursday afternoon and it was not good at all for all three of us eating. did not complain - raised issue about shower.
Very Friendly and helpfull staff. Great location in the middle of the city. The room was spacious and clean. The bar and restaurant were top notch. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
full Irish Breakfast was not very fresh and could be improved,
The location of the hotel was great. Friendliness of the staff Nothing
Nice staff and location. Great room Nothing
the room and bathroom are very convenient and the hotel has a good atmosphere the ambition of the restaurant do not match the service provided; although the staff is very nice, they lack knowledge about the wine.
The room was very luxurious and excellent value for money! There was no restaurtant available for evening meals, however we didnt really mind as there is plenty on offer around Killarney.
The breakfast was excellent, the room was spacious, and guest house was very central.
Location The staff, very unpleasant. Not very accommodating. Asked if we had alcohol in our bag which was inappropriate. Didnt get for what we paid for and were told we could change rooms. When i asked if i could view other room first he refused.
This hotel has a great location, and the breakfasts are very good. We found our room to be a bit noisy.
beautiful, clean, friendly, relaxing, would definately recommend this hotel to anyone
The Fairview was very comfortable, clean and in a good location. The breakfast was very good, had a selection of fruit, cereals, yogurt, juices and choices for vegetarians.
THe Fairviews staff was top notch!!! They were very welcoming and accomadating. The hotel was very clean and centrally located. If I'm ever back in Killarney this is where I'll be staying!
It was very central to the town. Room was Cold.
We were upgraded to a junior suite on arrival, the room was really beautiful and comfortable. The hotel was ideally located in the centre of the town with everything within walking distance. The restaurant was fantastic and great value for money and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would definately recommend this hotel
The hotel staff were absolutely excellent especially when they had not recieved our booking confirmation from your organisation they facilitated us and upgraded us as they were aware of how embarrassed we were when they could not find any record of our boooking
very high standard of comfort hotel in hotel; nice bar with very good bar food; good restaurant - all staff particularly helpful and courteous nothing
Dinner in Restaurant
The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I liked the atmosphere and found the visit very relaxing.
great service. nice atmosphere.
Friendliness of Staff & level of service was exceptional No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No minibar - surprised at this for a 5 star hotel
The politeness of the staff
hotel was very clean porter in hotel was very nice and helpful, the rooms were clean.Good location in killarney town plenty of parking room.pool and spa was very nice. breakfast wasnt great for 5 star hotel it was basic had better breakfasts in 3 star hotels and not that freindly in the morning in the breakfast room, there as a very tense atmosphere for some reason.
This hotel was luxury at its finest, the best service in reception/room and dining I would have liked to be able to make coffee in the room, but room service was very fast and pleasant. Tea/Coffee making facilities not available in the room. Even though I was led to believe I booked a smoking room this was a Non smoking Hotel which is fine, but they do not provide a sheltered available area outside to smoke. Stormy weekend I was blown away!!!
As the title suggests, my review will be a bit skewed. We paid about $119 for a standard double then got surprised with a free upgrade. The suite we stayed in was beautifully appointed, large and comfortable. It included just about any convince you could think of including worldwide electric outlets. And the jacuzzi tub was big enough for three people. The location was perfect for exploring Killarney, and having dinner in the bar is an inexpensive and tasty option. If I stayed here again, I might pay the extra amount for the upgrade to the spa room. The thing close to a only negative would be that there's no elevator. Not really a big deal though since it's only three two floors above ground.
Everything, we especially liked the comfort & facilities of the room, the king size bed, flat screen tv, jacuzzi bath etc.The breakfast menu was varied & produce was fresh. The bar/lounge was bright & roomy.
The hotel was located in a very good area, easily accessible to Killarney town centre and nearby national parks There was no lift in the hotel
The very high standard of the hotel in general, especially the excellence of the decor of the room.
Receptionist on duty Nov 6th 2010 was a pleasue to deal with, very welcoming and friendly. We were a group of 10 friends on a night away and each and everyone of us had only good things to say about hotel. Nice rooms, a bit small but we weren't in them for long. No residents bar
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great value for money and right next door to the INEC which was perfect for our stay as we were going to see a show.
no fuss, business like and very comfortable the jacuzi bath did'nt work but we changed rooms
The room we got (deluxe double) was nice, very spacious and clean. Ironing board, hot iron, hair dryer, kettle, spare pillows etc all in room. The staff was very accommodating with our initial request to change from one room downstairs to another upstairs. Great lounge and bar area. No complaints. Stayed several times already.
can't rate the service or staff as we only stayed for one night and ate out they seemed pleasant enough though. as above, there were no guest reviews in answer to your Q below.
Booked our one night stay about 6 months earlier through the internet after an extensive search of the area. We were not disappointed. While we booked a simple double room for the night we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite. The location offered excellent access to all Killarney attractions as well as the downtown area. Unable to comment on the food since we never ate here but prices on the menu looked rather steep. Our travels brought us throughout Ireland only staying in hotels for one night at a time but our stay at the Victoria House Hotel was regarded as one of the more pleasurable. Would highly recommend it to others.
The beer, heineken was terrible. Payment was troublesome, booking site said credit card wouldnt be deducted till our stay, on departure, told it had been deducted, got phone call fom hotel later to say that it hadnt been decuted, then told they had possibly decuted twice in error!
The facade of the building was very pretty. The location was excellent as we were attending a concert in the INEC. The room was too small and you could hear your neighbours very clearly. The receptionist wasn't very welcoming, we really felt like second class citizens for booking a budget room. The breakfast was more expensive than advertised.
The staff were courteous and friendly. The housecleaners were exceptional. One took the time to properly hang up our wet clothes.
the room size was very good with lots of natural light coming in and it was nice and warm and we liked the fact that we could control the heat ourselves. we didn't like the absence of any chairs in our room as we had to sit on the bed to have a drink and a chat, also no bath towels were provided so we could not shower and there was no heating in the bathroom and the tv was down too low.
Clean comfy great staff, great breakfast Wifi only in lobby:(
Breakfast was superb and overall alue for money was outstanding.
The room was very tidy and clean, carpark smal & had to park on roadl but it was very busy the same night, we had a room for 4, 2 single beds and one double + a foldable bed which while sufficent was a bit small. Brillant breakfast with very helpfull staff. This is my second time staying there in as as many months & will defo stay again.
Excellent value for money Weren't any
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with a good selection to choose from the menu. I would happily recommend this guest house to anyone.
Staff very friendly and exttremely helpful
Beautiful clean hotel, spacious room, great value, extremely helpful staff Vegetarian breakfast not on offer, very limited veggie choice.
Location and very spacious comfortable room Small breakfast plates
Rivermere is a first class guesthouse, not a hotel. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly, it seems to be family run which is always good. The breakfast was very tasty & lots of it. It is only a 10min walk into Killarney town centre so the location is very good I would recommend this guesthouse. Only thing was the view out our window was onto a very neglected garden it would definitley enhance this place if they get the garden sorted out.
Our room was very small and it was not good value at over 200 euro per night.
breakfasts and dinner, massive portions spa, jucuzzi lovely, reall nice design
The location is excellent and the hotel lobby is very beautiful. It's in the city center, near shopping streets and restaurants. There's a beautiful park across the street, and many rooms have park view. The staff is very caring, the rooms are very spacious and so are the bathrooms. when you arrive first it is not immedialtely obvious where the reception is situated, there's no place to stop the car in the main entrance of the hotel. The rooms are old, needing a total renovation. Although this, our rooms was very clean. The pillows were terrible, hard and the blankets were thin, poor and very old. They should have new duvets and more comfy pillows, this would do a big difference. But it's a good hotel, although.
The Molton Brown Spa, the Bar & Grill restaurant had exceptional food Bad service in the main restaurant, lack of hot water on the first night which we were not informed about
Every aspect. Spa and leisure centre was fabulous Not applicable
I stayed only one night so I didn't get a chance to take advantage of the spa, etc. One of the front desk staff was quite helpful but the other was rather disdainful. The rooms are somewhat outdated and for the money, I would have thought that the rooms would have been updated.
relaxing and chilling out in the panio bar and big roaring fires on the chilly nites outside thought bed would have been bigger
we found the hotel rally nice and ideally located, the room was really spacious and luxurious and the staff welcoming and helpfull. small regret the heater (air con) was loud and the blanket were not great. but they re small details for an overall exelent hotel
The Location is great and the beds are fab, really comfy. The staff were lovely and the food was gorgeous.
Pleasant and very comfortable with a good central location. The only issue that I would have had with the hotel would be that all their rooms were non-smoking.
Wonderful bedding. Sitting room was quiet and comfortable for conversation or playing games with the family, as well as the usage of the internet. Wireless did not reach the room.
Dellighted with Abbey Lodge. John King proprietor is a great host. He made both of us very welcome. The guest house was very homely and comfortable. I would recommend the Lodge to anyone. Seán and Frances Creighton no issues.
Lovely bed and breakfast. Great location, only a short walk to the main street and excellent access to the Ring of Kerry. Breakfast was amazing, with a buffet of fruit and cereal as well as a selection of hot breakfasts (definitely recommend the homemade waffles!). The owner was very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this b&b to anyone.
Stayed in a lovely room overlooking the rear courtyard. John King was an excellent host and very obliging and helpful especially regarding information on places to see and visit around Killarney. A great selection for breakfast and served in a very bright and welcoming part of the lodge. We had a lovely time at Abbey Lodge and would go back if ever in Ireland again. 5 Stars. Security very good The only draw back to Abbey Lodge for the older mature person was the shower arrangement over the bath. In the room we stayed in, It was difficult to get in and out of the bath due to its height. There was no hand rail for assistance for same. For the older person this would pose quite a problem. One of us did slip and luckily remained unhurt except for a nice black bruise.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was bright and clean. Plenty of space. Parking on site and easy walking distance in to town.
Good location, breakfast choices and quality were good. Large clean room and bathroom. Quiet. Wifi wasn't available in the room, had to stand in the hall. Shower was difficult to stand in because of the orientation of the shower head in relation to the drain. Would have been nice if coffee and tea facilities were either in the room or on the same floor as the rooms.
Very close to town, without the noise and hassels. Shower could of been a bit more up to par, as well as heating and cooling.
We were very pleased with the location and its closeness to downtown Killarney and to the major roadways for touring the area. We stayed at a time when it was rainy and cool and it would have been nice to be able to make a cup of tea in our room.
The Abby Lodge was delightful. The Bed and Breakfast is centrally located in Kilarney and has exceptional staff. Strongly suggested.
