The pillows and bed were excellent. Made for a refreshing stay.
excellent position, very good staff, clean, nice
The location to the sea.Very attractive forecourt.Very attentive staff especially bell boys. The room was very spacious and had a good view to the sea. Far too expensive to park car at hotel.Should have been coffee-making facilities in the room.Very surprised as all the other hotels we have stayed at in the States have this and should be standard in a hotel of this standing.
It was charming, room and bed comfortable with a deck overlooking pool. Im fussy and i found it a pleasant experience quiet, clean and relaxing. Staff excellent and a short walk to beach, handy to shops and restaurants.
Nice staff, pretty garden , I reccomend bungalows, good restaurants. Very good localization near ocean but also close to schopping places. I reccomend this hotel.
The hotel was beautiful & the staff was very friendy. The food was very good & the location was perfect for our honeymoon.
All the Art Deco features. Its a beautifully renovated hotel. We booked the Deluxe room because it was a bigger room & couldnt really fault it. The bathroom has a big bath tub in it & the room is full of Art Deco detail. Hotel staff were extremly friendly & helpful. Hotel is right across from the beach therefore great views. If you have time go up to the rooftop bar. Great views. No water provided in the rooms. Internet facilities for people that dont have a laptop arnt that convenient. Internet is only free for the first 15 min & then you need to pay. Only one computer available right in the lobby no no real privacy either, very distracting. The hotel room rates are a little pricy but we enjoyed our stay.
location very central and just had major face lift really noisy at night - great if you are a party animal!
Location, decor, staff and double bath n/a
Good location, nice pool and open dining space Friend staffs None
Santa Monica is the best place to stay in LA for pleasure, and for business travelers with a little extra time for commute. The Shangri-La is the hippest, best place on the water. We've stayed at Shutters and Casa del Mar - eaten at Viceroy. Shangri La beats them all. authentic updated Art Deco, great size, pool, rooftop bar with view of the Santa Monica pier and beach. No question - the go-to place in LA . The New York Times Travel Section agrees. And this is not paid or sponsored - I am a real person - stayed with my daughter on her school break. Loved it! Anne We had to leave
online it told me that the pool and bar would be open. Felt deceived!!! Bathroom door was broken, dirt in the bathtub, too much light in the AM, workers making lots of noise at 8am to fix pool area, bar on roof and pool not open even though it said it was online and that was the whole reason to go there. Took my boyfriend for 40th and highly disappointed. I was embarrassed!!!!!
lovely room but we upgraded and the pool are and roof top very nice. Our only concern were the staff who didnt really have a clue apart from the bell boy and valets. Wake up calls always 15 -30 mins late/fridge didnt get replenished unless we asked
The city was cleaning a parking garage opposite of the hotel during the night for two nights in a row, which was extremely noisy, therefore I checked out after two nights. I had a small room without a desk an therefore I think $300 per night was too much.
Good location, friendly staff, clean room A bit expensive
personalet var ok,men for mange ting der ikke funkede som film kanal ,elevator osv. Mad var for dårligt,og standarten på hotellet var for ringe til prisen.
fin modtagelse i reception, meget veludstyret værelse, velfungerende og serviceorienteret parkering, fine træningsfaciliteter, god beliggenhed i L.A. åbning af poolen tidligere på dagen så den kan bruges til morgen træning
Location Price and staff when I checked in seemed annoyed that they had to help me.
Room nicely remodeled and updated. Staff very helpful. Location couldn't be better. Parking fee.
Very good location. Beds are too small and the parking charge is absolutely ridiculous. That alone would keep me from staying with you again.
The service was amazing! The location couldn't be more ideal! The shuttle for the marathon was right behind the hotel. The finish line was right on the pier. Perfect place to just walk to 3rd St. promenade to carb up before the race. The room was quiet and comfortable. There was quite a bit of construction going on so parking was a bit confusing. We had to move our car before 11pm to the public parking garage. Also, late check out was not available, so if you are not staying that night of the marathon you would need to check out that morning and have them hold your luggage.
One of the best customer service experiences I've had at a hotel in years. The front desk staff, the valet, housekeepers, and the service technician were all excellent. The service technician had to come to the room because the heat wouldn't turn on and he arrived in less than 5 minutes and had the heat working in less 3 minutes, and was polite and amiable. The hotel was clean, and in a great location (walking distance to the pier, good restaurants and bars, and the 3rd street promenade shopping area). Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Overnight parking at the hotel is an extra $40; in my opinion, it should be included for guests.
Great location to everything. Friendly staff and one block from the Ocean. Very pricey. Parking was $42 a night with tax!
In front of pier The rooms were dark and poorly decorated facing a very busy and extremely noisy highway. Though the hotel is facing the sea, it is very difficult to get to the entrance. The parking was exorbitant: $43 a night!!! I do not recommend this hotel
-Very friendly and helpful staff! -Rooms have been nicely updated and were nicer than I expected -AMAZING location, especially for the price! -Was able to check in prior to 4pm and extend checkout to 12pm -Free breakfast foods and coffee in the lobby (we didn't take advantage, but I didn't know they would be provided) -Able to hold our bags between checkout and our flight (thank you!) Overall very satisfied and plan on staying here again. Looking forward to their lobby update to match the rooms! Lobby is currently very, very minimal but looks like it'll be nice when finished! -Remodeling and there is no lobby (just keep that in mind) -Because we booked through Kayak, the hotel was not able to guarantee a double room booking, even though I paid extra for two beds -Did end up receiving a room with a king bed and pull out couch. King bed was very comfortable. Couch was very uncomfortable -I would NOT book this room through Kayak! Call Wyndham directly. Between the hotel and the third party, you'll get stuck in the middle if they can't promise a double bed. Each will tell you to call the other service and that there is nothing they can do, leaving you potentially in the lurch.
I like how close it is to the Santa Monica Pier. It really is very close to it. I booked a King bed...and when I got there I was told there weren't any. I think the worst thing possible for a hotel, is to place a reservation and then have that reservation be unexpectedly modified.
The location was great only a short walk to the pier. The rooms were clean enough. There was a pool. The elevator worked. The elevator was busy during the day with cleaning staff. Our rooms didn't get clean until very late in the day and then barely. There was a pool but no one told us how to find it. There was a resturant in the hotel but no signs for it or any thing in the information in the room about its even being there. I paid extra for the ocean view witch was almost none existent. Not my best experience with Wyndham
Very secure. Clean and comfortable.
Check in was not until 4 pm and check out the next day was 11am, this was very inconvenient. We will not choose this hotel for that reason in the future.
The hotel was conveniently located near the beach and restaurants. Hotel rented out pool area for private Lincoln event so guests had no access to entire outdoor pool area for all of Saturday, which was a big appeal of this hotel. Rundown with duct tape on the hallway carpets. They overcharged me for a number of items.
Rooms are well thought out. I wish that the cafe in the lobby would have more options.
Lovely, fresh interior. Friendly staff/ Our room was adjacent to the fitness center and someone was weight lifting (and dropping) heavy weights at 6:30 a.m. I thought gun shots were going off.
love the Viceroy feel, decor and spaciousness. The bathroom was not quite as large as the Viceroy in Miami, but nice nonetheless. great water pressure too! the TV on the wall was massive, perhaps the largest I've ever seen in a hotel room. Was quite surprised there is no coffee whatsoever in the room. While they offer 'free' coffee from an urn in the lobby to guests, you still have to get dressed and go down the elevator to get. Miami room had an espresso machine; that should be standard.
Very quiet and well appointed rooms. Nice pool area. Difficult to get staff help after late arrival. Surcharge for 'coffee service' seems lame given hotel class.
Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable.
The hotel decor was pretty sterile. The Viceroy across the street was much more esthetically pleasing. The pool was ok, not great. The coffee bar was under staffed and looked temporary. Good for location. Staff cheerful, but not what I expected.
They did not have our reservation when we checked in; after calling twice to confirm. During those two calls, I was put on hold for thirty minutes the first time and eight minutes the second time..finally, they confirmed. Yet, upon arrival, they did not have our reservation and I had to check my confirmation email on my phone to prove it. No "sorry" gifts/amenities were given.
Every time you walked into the hotel their were staff members saying hello and ready to help with anything you needed.
We were in a room that was recently updated, and although not very big is was well laid out and had many practical features. It was also very clean, including the inside of drawers. And we had a partial ocean view which was very nice. No.

Swanky and super clean rooms and close to the beach.
Location and atmosphere. Restaurant was closed one night for private party - and 'traffic' in lobby was a little intrusive.
The location of the hotel was perfect. You can walk easily to the pier along with tons of restaurants and shops close by. I didn't realize that this hotel did not have a pool which is a real downer.
Location. Adjoining room with group of partying people next door. The door was neither sound nor light proof. Security called 4 times and no effort made to stop disruption. Terrible experience. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone else.
This was worst experience everThis hotel had a wedding party on the balcony of the second floor with a really loud music the second night of our stay. next night they hosted a sundsyfunday event and the hotel had turned to a club with drunks in elevators.
Quiet and away from the hustle of the city. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants. No pool

Nothing Shower was broken, bathroom door wouldn't stay open and there was a man snorting cocaine in the elevator at 6pm
Thinnest walls I've ever experienced. Could hear neighboring guests' get out of bed, shower, shave -- it was like I was in the same room. Unattended children also flipped "privacy" signs around to request service -- which led to an early morning knock on my door. Overall, it was loud, with very little quiet or privacy.
The accommodation was exceptionally clean, good coffee in room, staff friendly and helpful
It was directly across the street from the UCLA hospital. Parking was included I had asked for quiet and the neighbors next to us continuously slammed their door most of the night and morning. The FREE Wifi SUCKED! Forget about streaming anything.
Staff was very helpful. There was a lot of noise that could be heard from the room above. It did stop at a reasonable hour in the evening, but they need to consider more sound-proofing - if possible - to minimize this situation.
the room and its comfortable beds, the quietness, and the amenities in the room were nice the parking area and it was too crowded amongest other businesses
Close to Santa Monica beach. Excellent with shuttlecar! Too expensive
Clean, refrigerator, hair dryer, ironing board, nice, clean bathroom, comfortable beds, helpful staff, big TV, free wireless internet, free parking, coffeemaker with real half and half, shuttle to downtown Santa Monica A bit noisy at times (crowded "courtyard" design).
reasonably central with good public transport and parking smallest pillows I've ever seen! No scales for weighing suitcases....useful for people who fly. Staff did not know about shuttle bus provided by 'knottsberry farm' tourist attraction. If you are not keen on IHOP it's a hike to eat.
value for the location pillows were very hard; neck ache
Close to shopping area
The workers on reception were really friendly and helpfull. They didn't have mini bar, even couldn't find a bottle of water. You must stock in your own food and water when staying there....
The customer service at the front desk was most helpful. There is also plenty of options about what do to and the internet access was helpful. Probably a little expensive for where the hotel is in regards to the beach. You still have walk a fair way to the beach and I comparred hotels down by the beach and they were a little cheaper.
Staff is nice
Included parking, continental breakfast and wifi.
Value for money in Santa Monica and on a direct bus/metro route to th beach. An added bonus was free car parking.
it was comfortable. just a few mile from beach and shopping. highly recommend to use taxi service to get around. Traffic is horrible
the rooms were a good size and the hotel was on a main bus route. Not really.
courtesy of the staff ( Andrea in particular ) , fantastic breakfast buffet , location suites facing ocean avenue are way too noisy .
This is a luxuary hotel with a family run feel to it.They remember you as a person not a bill. None
The rooms were very spacious and beautiful decorated. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull.
Room style, location tax + city tax+ parking make this hotel overpriced
Staff was amazing Hotel was tired , carpet needs replacing, very tired
Shower would flood whenever we used it and the toilet kept malfunctioning.
It was really terrific...
I was very disapointed with my room..... Front desk staff very nice. I asbar staff very unfriendly..will probally not stay here again. For the price of room very dissapointed.
The staff was amazing very friendly and helpful Hotel needs to be renovated probably nice in the 90s. Way over priced. $35/day for parking and $15/day for wifi. I would not stay here again and I def would not recommend this hotel to anyone. very disappointing.
The location & breakfast were good. Maybe it was just our room (115) since it was basically in the stairwell of the hotel. No sound insulation whatsoever. It was so loud from Midnight-3am with other guests coming back from a night out. Couldn't sleep. It didn't help that the A/C unit had something wrong with it, it sounded like a jet engine going off so we couldn't use it. Hot & uncomfortable. The room itself is outdated and old but clean ... which wouldn't be a problem except for the cost and noise issues. When I told the front desk about the issue with the A/C the next morning, her response was "oh, okay". Didn't seem to really care so I pity the next guest who gets stuck in that room.
Overall the stay was very good. They're doing a lot of construction at the hotel. For that period of time the rates should have been reduced. to compensate for the noise, dust, etc'.
The staff was very pleasant. Good breakfast Location was quite far from beach and much of anything. The hotel was quite shabby. It definitely need an update. Breakfast area was too small for the amount of guests using it.
Good location and staff was very accommodating.
Clean room and convenient location. Nice common areas. Mostly friendly and helpful staff. The best price for the overpriced area. This location has under gone a half hearted renovation. The price doesn't match the quality. The layout of the property is odd and there are no rooms with good views. Some of the furniture is banged up. The water temperature is difficult to control in the sinks. Sewer gas smells would come from the bathroom drains at night. Lower levels can hear movement from upper levels.
I like the avalibiliy of the staff For a younger crowd in there 25-30 age it's not an appeasing hotel it's more for older crowd like 50-60 so for me being a pro Olympic athlete and being 23 yrs old I didn't enjoy it that much
Staff is great, and generally a very nice hotel. Doesn't live up to our expectations based on previous experiences at other Ritz hotels. It feels tired, not as luxurious as others, and is starting to show some age without upkeep. A simple example would be the pool has cracked tiles and feels rundown.
Marina Totality , needs upgraded , bathrooms , amenities , need more restaurants .
Hotel staff was outstanding; from valet, front desk & concierge all the way through to pool attendants, room service and bell desk.
I can't begin to find words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Marina del Rey Ritz Carlton! We arrived on a Wednesday morning with a sick child. The staff immediately took charge helping to get us situated with a room and going so far above and beyond ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. From the person who greeted us to take our luggage, to the valet, to the front desk staff to the wait staff in the restaurant and the gift shop (which opened up for us to get us meds in the middle of the night) to the manager who followed up even after we had left their hotel, every layer was kind, attentive and fantastic! They honestly made us feel like we were at home with family who was concerned about us. What a fantastic experience! T
the location room service food. the french soup was disgusting. There was also no glasses in the room. time it took to get the food valet parking took 15 mins to get our car
