The hotel was very central to Arcachon and the owner was quite charming and very helpful speaking good English
The rooms were very clean and the location was excellent. Very close to the beach. The room was pretty small and on a busy road. However it did have shutters on the window which went a good way to blocking out a lot of the noise.
Friendliness of staff; room was very pretty and with good amenities Very noisy location - street below is a very busy one all night long
it was very close to beach. the staff were friendly and helpful because we were on street side it was very noisy at night ,even with window closed
friendly personel, clean rooms the room was a bit noisy (from the street)
very friendly stuff, near to the beach and center traffic was very loud
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Comfortable and reasonably priced.
Quiet location and good for walking to town and to the beach old fashioned
The place is correct. It's situated in a calm place uptown, although the centrum/beach is easily accessible. Visibly designed for longer stays. Plain, big rooms where the kitchen dominates over design and comfort. Rooms without character, bed too short (needed a chair at the end as extension). Toilet is too small to be easily accessible. Rather poor breakfast.
A grand building, big apartmentwith twin beds in one room, very comfortable sofa-bed in lliving area - and an extraordinarily comprehensive kitchen. We enjoyed its grace and space in filthy weather; it must be wonderful in sunshine. Unobtrusive redecorating going on. Parking a breeze. Some English language among the otherwise helpful staff would have been good.
Fantastic old villa in a quiet residential area. We were amazed of the place and it was even better than the pictures. We had a studio with wonderful view. Breakfast included in a room with wall paintings, it was just perfect! Nothing really negative, but if the hotel wants to improve something the interior of the studios can be updated. It is very simple and basic.
Good value for money, pleasant helpful staff particulary young lady who showed us a map & pointed out local points of interest, recommeded a restaurant Room although spacious was tired & in need of refurbishment
Can't remember his name, but the man that runs the hotel was fantastic. Personable, approachable and always in good spirits. None at all.
The hotel is in a beautiful building in the heart of a leafy quiet residential area. The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful. The perfect place to relax and get some fresh air. The hotel is in need of some refurbishing and the swimming pool was not very clean.
The position was good, we liked the facilities and the town
Externally, the hotel doesn't look like much, but don't be misled. Once inside you are greeted with a charming reception area which leads to a nice bright conservatory out the back. Our studio was big and clean and the kitchenette provided everything that we required. The breakfast was plentiful and the dining room was lovely with big windows letting in the sun. The staff were helpful and polite.
Professional and friendly staff, warm welcome. In nice area. Good breakfast
Perfect situated close to the sea. The staff is very kind and helpful. Garage parking in the basement of the hotel - very practical. (Under "Submityour review" your webside comes up with Erik Pilgaard, Amsterdam (NO). This is wrong. I live in Oslo. Why Amsterdam?)
The location, the possibility to use internet for free, the kindness of the staff The Car park was gloomy and smelly (even though apparently it is not in the power of the hotel to make improvements). No refrigerator in the room.
The nice staff made us feel so welcome! One minor thing perhaps: the door locks were unreliable - difficult to know if the door was actually locked from the inside (we had strangers three times accidentally walking into our room hehe :-)
the location toilette cubicle very small and i am average size!
Friendly staff Scary, dark car park but very useful to have it!
Shopping Eating out
No 9 - Smart lateral room - reasonable size. Toilet very very small !!! Very noisy - at 4am with lorries outside. Smell of smoke. Cigarette ends thrown outside.
We stayed one night in July at the hotel en route to a holiday further down the coast. We found it to be ideally located within walking distance of the station and pretty much on the sea front itself. The staff were really friendly & helpful. The rooms were fine in terms of space & facilities & it all felt very clean.
The excellent location in Arcachon - just a few steps from the lovely promenade and beach with no roads to cross. The room was very pleasant with a small balcony and with a 'side' seaview. Large comfy bed and small but well appointed bathroom. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Underground car parking was a bonus too. The WC was so small you 'almost' couldn't close the door!
Good location, comfortable and clean rooms and obliging and friendly staff made our stay, although brief, very enjoyable. No.
Very friendly staff. Nothing negative.
Clean smart well kept close to all facilities The only problem was that the room was very small with very little storage space for clothes
We thought the hotel was in a very good location, and the swimming pool was an added feature. We didn't like the breakfast - the room was very busy and we had to wait for a table. we understood that it was catering for French guests but we found the UHT milk completely unpalatable on cereal and in tea. After our first morning we enjoyed lovely breakfasts on the front in a cafe. There was soime sort of conference on I think which reduced the size of the breakfast room.
A very pleasant hotel, very friendly staff, good breakfast facilities and near town centre and beaches Small rooms which could do with a little refurbishment, but still comfortable. Entrance to hotel very granduer but steps very steep. No coffee facilities iun rooms.
Convenient location but not in busy part of town. Very well kept pool. Enjoyable breakfast. Simple, clean and comfortable rooms.
Hotel staff were always very willing to engage and assist where they could on all queries. The breakfast was limited and the 'fresh' fruit was not updated regularly enough.
they let me stay and use their internet for an extra 5 hours while i waited for my flight.
Very helpful staff, warm room/building (cold winter days). Nice area. No avaiability of hot or cold drinks (nothing in mini bar or available via reception).
Great location, free parking, pool, clean rooms Hotel personal is friendly on the surface but you feel that they don't like additional questions and feel rather disturbed by it.
Please write at least 15 words Room was not very clean, dust was easily visible on table, tv and cups.
to escape in the moring
Location suited us ,good resteraunt nearby The bathroom very unclean and the balcony full of cobwebs and bedsheets not clean
An excellent room good parking very close Confusion about the room rate quoted on line but eventually sorted out by the receptionist
It was in a fairly good location not far from the beach and main restaurants. Room was small and cramped and quite dark.
Food was excellent. Hotel staff had sufficient english language to make up for my shortfall. Easy parking. Helpful staff.
very relaxing, nothing ever a problem for the management or staff
excelent location, nice rooms, quiet and romantic place. very good cuisine also.
Lovely sea views.Excellent Breakfast. Shower cubicle in poor condition and no lighting. We requested a table for dinner which was to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary. We were told all tables were booked. No manager on sight to speak to.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this perfect , calm location right in the bay of Arcachon. The breakfast buffet offered a large choice and dinners were great. Good wines too and very friendly service.Planning to go there again.Elisabeth
The postion of the hotel is perfect, it is right on the beach. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The location was excellent and air conditioned rooms were great. 5 people out of the 7 in our party were vegetarians. The rooms were booked on a "half board" arrangement. I rang the hotel prior to making the booking and they confirmed that they did cater for vegetarians. For our evening meal the 2 non vegetarians had steak, potato, beans and rice. The vegetarians received a minuscule portion of tasteless cous cous instead of steak.
Good location rude staff
Walking on the beach. Watching the sunset. Breakfast price. If it was cheaper we would have eaten breakfast there. Instead we walked into Arcachon.
The overall comfort & cleanliness plus vg spa & pool! The reception Staff could be much more cheerful & eager to help....poor! Breakfast was far too expensive & the Dinner men too !!!
The position near the beach was very good.
Big and clean room and nice bathroom At arrival the only explanation is where your room is situated, no explanation for other facilities in the hotel. Breakfast buffet empty before everybody hat breakfast. Dinner very poor and personel very nervous. From 7.30h to 9.30 personel is busy with preparing tables for lunch on the terrace... why making so much noice so early ? I would recommend it only for business purpose not for holidays.
Expensive & poor breakfast. The requirement for having to buy and wear bathing caps and footwear in the spa pool.
The location was perfect for the beach and local restaurants. also possible to walk into town - if you're energetic! They charge you for wifi in the room - but the signal is so poor you have to go down into the lobby to use it!! Most hotels do not charge these days and I would think a big chain like this would not either.
Great staff, excellent location and quiet rooms.
Very friendly staff! The room was located on the first floor of the building. It has a capacity for 5 people, but had no doors, so if fully occupied everyone has to sleep in one room, which is also the place were you sit and eat and watch TV or so. If you travel with a baby and have to stay in the property at night, it is useful to have a door, to not disturb the youngster when sleeping.
Location was good close to shops/bars/beach No parking due to sewer works -the bed was low 2" from floor-very basic furnishings-room was dark and claustrophobic
Le Grillon is well situated for the restaurants and beach. We found our room very spacious, clean and comfortable. Definately good value for money.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, we had an appartment which was spacious. Room well equipped,. Quiet location but only minutes from the beach and town centre. Staff helpful and friendly, we will definately come again!
The staff were very nice and helpful, Walking distance to the beach and the shops.Very clean and well kitted out in the kitchen although a kettle would be good. The bed was far too low and hard for us, Have had a bad back since and we had to leave early because of it which was a great shame Younger people would probably have no problem with the beds.
Nice place near the city center and the pedestrian street to the beach. Big rooms with all facilities. Very friendly personnel. No, everything was just perfect
Nasty smell of mildew came into room from under sink and adjoining cupboards. Was charged tax for 2 people for all 4 nights although alone for 3 nights of the 4?.
Absolutely lovely hotel and an amazing price. Free internet access, perfectly clean, really well stocked with cutlery, plates, mugs, washing up liquid, I didn't need to ask for anything. There's no kettle but I think that's usual for France (there's a coffee-maker instead). I had an absolutely lovely stay and would highly recommend it. I had to keep changing my reservation (because of strikes!) and the staff really went out of their way to accommodate me and were absolutely lovely about it. And the price was incredible. Nothing. Well maybe the room was a tiny bit noisy as it had a road on one side and was right next to the reception so you could hear everyone coming and going. But that's only if I'm being picky.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Child friendly.
I absolutely loved this hotel! I was a bit sketchy from the way the pictures looked -- it seemed like it might be poor quality. I was delighted to find that it was very well kept up, and had the cozy feel of our own little apartment. It was so homey I was sad to leave.
comfort and relaxation
helpful staff, big rooms with balcony
Clean, quiet but simple room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Please write at least 15 wordsWe found every aspect of the hotel excellent. And would not hesitate to recommend it to other people.
Good location near Arcachon and Dune du Pyla and only 10 muniutes walk to great beach. We would prefer a good shower rather than a bath. The woodwork in the rooms should be repainted in more joly beach atmosphere colours such as various blue/green pastels.
Terrific owners who compensate for the quality of the room.
A covenient location and helpful staff A kettle in the room with drink making facilities would have been an advantage, together with top support for the shower and shower curtain to prevent having to have a shower with one hand and stop water going on to the floor of the bathroom.
Room was large and clean. Choice of bath or shower. Twin beds. No tea tray provided. No restaurant for breakfast so no choice of food.This was a large factor in returning home earlier than planned;
Very friendly, helpful staff; quiet location out of town yet near lovely sandy beach. Mainly warm and sunny, even at end of September.
very secure parking

Hotel staff were very friendly. Hotel cleanliness was excellent. Hotel location was right near the harbor and a beach. Hotel was situated quite a long walk from the main shopping center of Arcachon although there were a few shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Friendly staff, most spoke English. Had a lovely room facing a garden with a balcony. You could store a bicycle in the garden too. Excellent location, one street from the boulevard that faces the water, and a straight shot up the street from the train station- I was nervous I would get lost and literally walked up to the building! :) A hairdryer would have been nice, and I could always use an iron in the room, but I most 3-star hotels I stay in don't include the latter.
The location was great, the staff were exceptionally helpful, the price was right ... no complaints at all.
