Great location and attentive, concerned staff. Perhaps the best dinning in the city. Very comfortable sleeping. Shower didn't have a curtain to contain the water, so it could get messy. Otherwise it worked well with good pressure.
The location was great. the hotel overall was quite nice with AC. The breakfast was delicious.
The hotel grounds and pool were lovely, the staff friendly and the food of good standard. However, the reception area and the rooms could do with being updated.
Location on edge of Avignon, good facilities, atmosphere and staff Better if buses back from Avignon rang later
Small and dark room, poor neighbourhood.
Nice hotel, a little away from the town centre, but still walkable Did not replenish toilet rolls, cups as generously as they should. However all resources were afailable on request.
hotel lobby and food was great . no elevator, they are in the mist of renovations . The rooms ; carpet walls etc need renovations. It was clean and we had no major issues.Tnot walk outside stone wall that surrounds hotel. We got the impression they was a lot of crime.
The reception and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. Easy access for the disabled
All the staff were extremely helpful, it was well run and had a very pleasant relaxing atmosphere
Fantastic setting, excellent facilities and tasty breakfast. No
Excellent food, very comfortable room with all necessary facilities, staff friendly and helpful
All the staff were very helpful - we enjoyed our stay. The Hotel is not really walking distance (at least 30 minutes) from the city centre however there is a bus stop just outside the hotel and the buses run to time. We loved the pool and garden area.
I am disappointed, having booked this hotel through Active Hotels, that the single night stay by my wife and her friend was billed as two separate transactions on my credit card, thus attracting extra commission. I have heard of this trick before, it is usually to avoid a single transaction over £100 on a credit card. The check in and room have been ticked as poor because my wife tried to get into her room and the card didn't work. The existing occupant came out to see who was trying to get into his room. What a simple but stupid mistake.
Location and ease of parking. The duvet on the bed was too hot. We had to take it apart.
The beds were excellent, nice duvets and pillows. Nice to have a fridge. Great location for sightseeing. Bar area been refurbished since I last stayed there and looks much more modern. No milk or coffee was ever placed in the room - only teabags? Had to ask reception for coffee and bought our own milk. Considering the cost of the room this was playing real cheap. You get tea, coffee and milk in any decent budget hotel nowadays.
Very good location, nice rooms Smeal on the hole
The location of the hotel was wonderful--mere steps from the Palais de la Papes. Parking was available at an adjacent parking ramp, a big plus for staying in Avignon. It was very difficult finding the hotel as the entrance is located inside the parking garage.
Very gool location, close to palace, 2 minute walk to town Square. clean rooms , good size comfortable bed Staff had quite a bit of diffuculty with english , not a big problem for us could be for some
Parking close to the entrace for 23 hours.Bed was comfortable They were having major renvation works and did not state this to guess, before arrival/booking. Losy minibar and no open bar services facility due o these works. No meals other tha high cot breakfast. No power plugs beside bed The cost was far too high - should have been a reduction due to virtually no facilities that Mercure normally offer. Moved to nother hotel next day for 30 euros less.
The location was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable and clean
The location of hotel is just 1 minute from the “Palais de la Papes” and all the main attractions. Moreover it has an entrance directly from the public parking (you have a discount from the official price). The staff was kind and speaks a good English. The room was very quite. The room was not so big. The price is high. Sometimes in the hall there was a bad smell (drain?).
The fridge with things to buy in the lobby was well stocked. The breakfast buffet was very good. The bed was comfortable. The room allocated to us was overlooking the breakfast room so we had to keep our blinds drawn most of the time. We were next to the staircase on floor 1 (room 102) so we often heard noises of footsteps and the door slamming on the ground floor. Would not choose this room and you should not be offering it.
hotel personal was extremely helpful
Good location, good breakfast!
Excellent location and very peaceful Our room was comfortable, but a little on the small side
This hotel was located in the centre of the Old City. The location was excellent for choice of dining, shopping and seeing the many interesting sights.
Lovely hotel in all respects other than being some what dated and old fashioned. Great view from the room. Old fashioned fittings and decorations
The staff, location and size of the room No
Proximity to main attractions. Large, spacious room. Effective air-con. Excellent view. Never had to wait for lift.
Great location and a superb hotel in the heart of the city. So many sights to see, without getting the car out again.
The room was large and comfortable The maid left our door open on our first day but the reception staff were apologetic. Tea and coffee making facilities would have made it better.
One of the male receptionists at night was very helpful and smart. He can speak fluent English and I was very impressed by his courtesy. We requested about airport transfer vs. taking taxi / Roissy bus and he can clearly tell us the differences and further on recommended the best option which we followed as a result. His professionalism impressed us. One of the more 'senior / elder' female receptionists could not speak as fluent English as some of the younger staff and she was having difficulty understanding my question on whether I can use my metro tickets for RER (e.g. buying an additional ticket to go with the metro or not), and when I further prompted she immediately felt irritated and just told me to ask at the station.
Staff, location Bad shower
The room was clean and well maintained. Location is very good, five minutes walk to center. Bathroom was very good. Breakfast was poor, boiled eggs had kind of bad smell and remained one day before I thought! Indeed no problem, nex day we just skipped the breakfast.
location Sterile uninviting atmosphere
very good location, parking under the hotel why charge for private hotel park ?!
They were helpful when we asked to change our room The air conditioning was noisy
Easy access to Avignon by foot
Convenience to train station
Location was great. The front desk staff was outstanding, and the rooms were always clean nothing
The receptionist was excellent. Parked my car and had it out front in the morning. Good location. It was a little old and tired, but had character.
Convenient to bus and train station as well as the centre. I asked for a quiet room which they provided but it faced an alley and had almost no natural light.
I found the staff to be helpful on the average. There was no issue about speaking English. The room was spacious, modernly decorated, but not well appointed. The location is close to the walled section of the city is convienent to the highway and roads Other reviews mentioned renovations that were on going and dirty carpets. The renovations appear to be continuing, including the pool, carpets, and water damage by the elevator on my floor. My room appeared to have been renovated, minus the carpet.
The great facilities and good parking and how quiet it was and especially the great value. Best value we found in all our stays at hotels and will definitely try and stay in some of the other locations on future trips. I was disappointed in the air conditioning which didn't appear to work in our room plus the lack of some things in the kitchen and the directions to the hotel were a bit misleading. Otherwise it was hard to fault.
pleasant room. useful kitchenette area New facility not yet operating fully could explain poor quality of petit dejeuner on offer. meal definately not value for money
clean kitchen ,cute and colourful wall ,home feeling environment and mostly cheap~~ yes, when showing water is everywhere in washroom
Excellent Price, very well equipped with small kitchen. A little far from the old city/ Wi-fi only available in lobby.
The ease of travel within the Avignon region Just the unavailability of the internet.
kitchen provided, unlimited online service, spacious carpark, reasonable price... lights too dim, distant from town centre...
good location. close to bus and train stations. good staff to answer questions. Small room
Rate is excellent 55euros bfst incl for 2. We had a room on the 5th floor looking at the city in the far. Relatively quiet. Good deal.
it is very convient to the TGV avignon station, only 5 minutes from the station。there is kitchen which is useful for cooking lunch and/or dinner。and the room is clean, quiet。 need to take bus to avignon city centre, it cost 1.2 euro and 20min each time .it's not convenient for travelers without a car.
Clean comfortable, free car parking, reasonable access to city by car. Able to make drinks and snacks. I would certainly recommend citea to friends, Had to ask for toilet rolls, carpark very near but access only over grass and rock flower bed. Nowhere as yet to walk for an evening meal. Little kitchen well equipped but there was a gap between sink and wall which just needed filling in with a piece of wood. We continually thought there was a shelf there andkept dropping things
Location was perfect. I would recommend hotel only for the location Bathroom was extremely uncomfortable. Bathtub was very deep, no handles to help you out, water would splatter all over
The staff were very friendly and courteous and eager to provide a good service to guests. The hotel is located at the top of the main street and opposite the Palace du Papes, which is an excellent location. It also has a very good restaurant. No, it was good value for money and very pleasant.
restruant is nice room is small
Friendliness of the Hotel Staff.
Great location, right next to the Papal Palace. Our room was located directly over the kitchen of the hotel's restuarant and overlooking the street in front of the hotel, so it was very noisy with people, deliveries, trash pick-up, street sweepers...
location just what was needed room over looking square
The location is super....the facility is ok, since it's renovated from an old building.
